Ok I obviously don't understand the concept of Folder Sync jobs. I have about 20 movies and TV episodes with Sync jobs. They Queue, Sync, Ready for Transfer and Transfer. Then they seem to play fine. I thought great! But they do this every night! The files work and the files don't actually seem to change the files haven't been modified in over a week. FFMpeg just runs all night for nothing. If I cancel the Sync job the media will be removed right? What am I missing?

Hi, I installed trakt plugin and entered login data for the emby user I'm using. But when I browse through the TVShows I don't see any of the watched flags although they are set on trakt.tv site. I don't get any errors in the notices and when I try to add trigger for a scheduled task nothing happens and the dialog with the settings does not close (see the attached screenshot). How can I check if Emby server indeed connects to the trakt.tv site and if starts to sync data? P.S. I noticed in the dev console (Google Chrome browser) this error message: An invalid form control with name='txtTimeOfDay' is not focusable.

1. A profile setting sort of like DLNA or just simply a way to set the sync options to a certain default. This way I wouldn't have to select all the options from the slide in screen every time. I like to sync each TV show separately and this would make things easier. So when I would want to sync a show I would click sync button, pop up message would show asking to use default settings, click yes and that's it. Could there be a way the videos in the queue could be matched against the profile to see if they need to be converted or not? I'm not sure if sync already does this. 2. Show the tv show title along with episode title in list of queued items. 3. Along with the "only sync unwatched" and "only sync x amount of items", it would be great to have an option of "only sync items added after". Just getting started with sync takes a long time to go through and convert all the shows. So maybe I would just want to start from a certain point and only sync from that point on. 4. On some screens, such as shows, you would click the sync button and an option would come up to "sync all" or "select shows (or episodes)". If you choose to select shows you could check every show you wanted to include in that sync. This way you bypass filling out the sync media slide in for every show separately.

Hello, I am experiencing the issue of no updates happening between Kodi and Emby. The server works fine and I can see the updates in the web and WMC clients, but not Kodi. Is anyone else experiencing this? I don't want to have to do a full sync each time in order to see what's new. Am I supposed to turn on the Kodi "update library" option? I thought Emby took care of that.

Hey, Started trying to use the OneDrive Sync plugin and so far I have not had any luck. I am sure it is something I am doing since everyone else has got it to work right. But when I attempt to sync something, I get the following error every couple hours: The remote server returned an error: (401) UnauthorizedI have deleted the account and tried it a second time and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Server version: 3.0.5621.4 Plugin Version: 3.0.5629.31460 I have a OneDrive Client ID, OneDrive Client Secret, and that last long code on the last step. Any ideas? I have a log file on onedrive I can share if needed.. I just don't like publishing them since it has sensitive data.

First off, thanks again for making this plug-in. I know it is still a work a progress and I am hoping my issues can help you to make it great! So, looking through my logs one thing jumps out at me immediately. The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. System.IO.PathTooLongException I am assuming this is OneDrive saying the path is too long? Or is it the plugin not liking what's on my computer? I assume OneDrive since looking in OneDrive I see the path there is ridiculously long. \OneDrive\Apps\Emby Server Sync - Nathan Hodge\REDKIAN\Original-High\Music And that is before getting into the Artist folder then the Album folder then the track title. I am not sure what can be done about this other than renaming the "App" which I did make the name rather long. Can you confirm though that OneDrive is the issue? Then there is this error (I have removed the Token as I don't know if that is something it's ok to post in a forum) 2015-06-08 02:12:53.4468 Error - App: Error getting response from https://api.onedrive.com/v1.0/drive/special/approot:/:/view.changes?token= *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5621.4 Command line: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe -service Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False Program data path: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server Application Path: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. I have noticed that with anything I play in Theater (movie or tv show) the video and audio are out of sync. The video is always a few seconds behind the audio. I'm currently running windows server Version 3.0.5641.4 and theater version 3.0.5651.20234. Is there anything to change in the settings? Log

I previosly posted this as a question in the thread for evolving the folder sync plugin but I will post here also as an official feature request. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/19887-help-emby-sync-evolve/page-3&do=findComment&comment=218415 I would like to see either the folder sync plugin or maybe some separeted function that would allow me to do the following: specify a folder for incoming media eg. movies and episodes specify one or several transcoding settings according to my preference have the funtion transcode the media and then move it into my media collection a select option to specify if i want to remove the original or archive it in some other location This would let me make sure that I always have my media collection in a uniformed state. With optimal configuration I could avoid most on-the-fly transcoding. I am using the folder sync plugin for this purpose today by transcoding all new arrivals to an external drive and then manually moving them back into my media collection and removing the originals. The proposed change would allow me to completely automate this. P.S Thanks to all developers involved in the projects involving Emby. The work you done so far is amazing.

Could we get a plugin to allow syncing to drop box as well? They have a slightly better deal on 1TB a month storage over google drive if you buy it by the year (99$).

I started trying to use sync about 2 months ago on Windows 10. I never could get it to work correctly, and I since then gave up on Windows 10 because of too many issues so I have went back to 8.1. However, I still cannot get sync to work. It says "Transferring" and is stuck at 50%. Not sure if this is a server issue, or a client issue. Server: 3.0.5588.1 Client: Windows 8.1 (Not sure how to find version, but installed it yesterday) Logs are attached. Let me know if you need anything else from me! Client.zip Server.zip

I'm confused. Trying to use the new Cloud Sync to Google Drive. I just became a supporting user, have the google drive sync tool installed, and don't see a sync option by any of my media on my server. Any thoughts?

1. I love the sync feature, and am hopeful that someone will come up with a "Sync to OneDrive", similar to the "Sync to Google Drive". 2.I'd like to have an option to "Sync All", whether that be Movies, Television or Music. This would be similar to the Sync option included for "Latest Movies", "Latest Episodes", "Next Up", etc., but available under "Shows" for TV, or "Movies" for movies. Effectively, this would simply monitor the "Television" and "Movie" folders and sync everything to the Sync location. This would allow for persistent backups of all media with only two Sync jobs. (Three, if you also have Music, which I do not.) My intent with this configuration is to create a second local copy, then copy that "backup" copy to an external drive, and another machine which has a different, much faster internet connection for uploading to OneDrive. I've found this to be more efficient than having a separate Sync job for each location, mostly due to the fact that the Emby Server machine has a dedicated internet connection requiring it to be in a different subnet than the rest of the devices in the house. There is a second NIC with no gateway to allow communication with the "main" subnet. 3. Despite the complexity of my network, Emby has been very easy to work with, though being able to manually set the "internal" address of the Emby Server would be wonderful. To better explain, the machine on which Emby Server runs has one NIC with a 10.18.x.x IP and gateway connected to it's dedicated router and internet connection. There is also a second NIC with a 10.81.x.x IP, but no gateway. Emby Server is automatically setting the 10.18.x.x IP address as the internal "Local Access" address, presumably because that is the subnet where it was able to resolve the "Remote Access" public IP. Being able to manually configure the "Local Access" address for the 10.81.x.x subnet would greatly simplify connection of the various Emby clients my family uses. I absolutely love your product. I was previously using Serviio, which I thought was great. Emby has completely redefined "great" for me as far as media library capabilities are concerned. VERY well done.

Trying to sync to a surface 2. How do I set the sync location. If I log in to the server settings I see where I can set up a folder location for temporary file location on the server PC, but I don't know how to tell Embry to put the synced movie in a particular folder on my surface.

I finally got my Windows App to download Synced videos. I created a sync job at High Quality (general format) with two small 30 minute-ish videos items. Here is my results: Not sure how well you can see it in the picture, but the quality of the video is horrible. I would just use the original format, but the Windows App will not play that format. Is there any ideas as to why? Windows App: 3.2.0 Emby Server: 3.0.5569.0 Attached is the transcode logs.. log1.txt Log2.txt

It would be great to be able to control sync priority. I'm thinking when scheduling a job, be able to specify priority.. Something like ASAP, Scheduled, On Server Idle. Also...when you have a lot of jobs scheduled, it would be good to have the capability to pause transcoding (instead of just killing it altogether). Especially helpful if you have lower end hardware that may not be able to sustain a stream while transcoding something for sync.

Ever since camera upload has gone live, the Android app hasn't automatically uploaded ANY photos to my server. To get the photos uploaded, I have to uncheck the Auto-sync option in Settings->Accounts and then manually fire the sync task under the MediaBrowser account. It seems like the MediaBrowser task is hanging and I don't know why. Where would the logs be that you will need to debug this issue? I assume the logs located in /data/com.mb.android won't cut it since this seems to be a system issue.

Hi I'm happy about the new sync ability on my surface pro 3. I have sync'ed using "original" quality setting because I want a quick sync without transconding the files (storage is not a problem). But it looks like the subtitle file (.srt) is not being synced? Have I missed something or is it an error? /Jon

Question about the sync feature for mobile Clients
saitoh183 posted a topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
I was wondering how will the sync feature work from the clients? Like after you sync something via the server, how will you access it on the mobile client? Because right now when there is no server available, you cant really navigate offline in the client. Will clients also sync the user that was used to sync the content so you can login with it with no server available? -
Hi, my wife has a THL 5000 and a very nice phone it is too. However, there is a problem when using MB for Android. If she uses the Android MB Client to play back movies, the lip sync is out slightly. If she uses an external player like MX Player, then it is worse unless she selects SW Decoding where it will then play fine. VLC plays fine with no alteration. The problem with an external player is she loses the ability to FF/RW/Resume etc. I have had a quick look but I can't see how to fix this issue. Can anyone help? P.S. She is running the latest client on KitKat.

I noticed today that much of my movie metadata was very out of date with TMDB. It was as if MB had synced once on initial library ingestion, but then never synced again. Hitting the refresh button ensured that those films which had no community rating or parental guidance value or overview, now did so, (presumably this metadata had been completed on the master providers after initial library ingestion) Personally I would like all metadata synced with the providors* except folder.jpgs and backdrop.jpgs (unless mine are currently blank). I would like to designate those aspects that i dont want to hand over responsibility to the online providors to change (ie dont sync). but i would like everything else to match the providors, album overviews, artist overview, all movie metadata, all tv metadata, everything. MB3 already instances the concept of "metadata the user does not want overwritten". so users can protect metadata they do not wish to be overwritten. Could MB3 implement an ongoing sync option, with a set of stated exceptions - (Sync Criteria) Users would have to positive choose to sync and only if their set of required exceptions were currently supported. If the user's case for required exceptions was not currently supported, then the user wouldnt enable sync and "no harm no foul". (but they might add a feature request)..ie to keep the option safe. Perhaps there could be a set of object types enabled/disabled for syncing (Episode, Season, Series, Movie, Collection, Album Artist etc) there could be a full set of metadata types in the ui.or more simply in the first instance just Primary Images, Backdrops, All other metadata For each metadata type for each object type there could be synchronise criteria = Never Syncronise, Only if Im blank, Always, Always except if provider is blank [don't overwrite metadata i have added locally but is not populated on the provider), Respect current granular setting For each object of object type (Episode, Season, Series, Movie, Collection, Album Artist etc) MB could instance a 'Last Synced' timestamp in the database along with an "empty" event flag (data was empty eg. no backdrop, no episode image). MB could stipulate a schedule for re-syncing per object type, or allow the user to stipulate a schedule. But a mandated schedule in first instance would probably suffice...eg The task might be scheduled to run daily. For each object in enabled objects for syncing If - is <10 days and emptyflag=true, then sync according to the sync criteria (The most common use case for these is episode images which are not in place on day 1 but tend to be posted fairly quickly, or episode names which have changed) if - is >30 days then sync according to the sync criteria In this way, the user is handing over responsibility to, MB3 and the providers, for the set of metadata for which they are comfortable. Would anyone else like to see more metadata syncing, What are the types you would definitely want to see or not want to see synced? thanks for considering. Edit..perhaps other physical filesystem objects can also be included like movie.xml or artist.xml...there have been instances when mb3 looses confidence in owning these files..and taking responsibility for their content..personally i would be happy to let mb3 manage...moreover i want mb3 to manage always..even deleting and recreating if neccessary. Edit Another potential use case is ibn person info...i regularly used to find that if i cleared out empty folders and rerun person sync task i would get more data downloaded..imo it would be an improvement if mb3 would maintain itself more automatically in this regard.

Hi, anyone else experienced this? Bluray ripped to Mkv and DTS audio is copied. Played the file a few times bitstreaming audio to my soundbar and audio was out of sync. Opened up LAV and adjusted audio delay (-300ms) and got it synced up. Put LAV back to no delay and switched off soundbar to see what TV speakers would do. Audio is perfect through TV. Switched soundbar back on and now it's perfect without touching LAV Can the audio over HDMI get out of sync which needs a restart of you receiver/soundbar to sort it out? I'm happy I know how to fix it, it's just a wee bit weird! Cheers Latchmor
