I've setup a sync job for a TV show, but one of the episodes does not want to sync. The current status is "transferring", but the temp sync folder has no transcoded media. I've tried to cancel the episode in the sync job, but nothing happens. If I create a new sync job for only that episode it gets cancelled immediately. I'm running a new install of version 3.0.5871.0 on Windows Server 2012. I have a premiere subscription and attempting to sync TV show episodes to a Samsung phone with the android client. Hi there, I am using Emby for 2 month now and for 2 weeks i had decide to get the lifetime Emby Premiere license, cause i really appreciate your work and I like to contribute to the Team on this way So Thank you for such a great Product My Situation: I have a linux Sat Recorder which records some TV Shows and Movies for me on the hard drive of the Recorder, with the auto organisation from emby my NAS gets the files stored and sorted, until here everything is perfect. The Files from the Recorder are .ts, they are very big and not really compatible to the most devices in my house, so I used the FolderSync Plugin (I like this future the most on Emby :-P) to get the files in .avi which is a way better for my use with Chromecast, Tablets and so on... The converting works like it should, but I would like to have the option to replace the original .ts file with the .avi file, because i don´t need the .ts file anymore and i would like to have only the .avi file stored in my libary if the converting was successful, would it be possible to get such an option in the Sync settings? Ps. Is it possible to create a own Profil in FolderSync with a other format like .mkv? Sorry for my bad english :-P

Hi there, would it be possible to show the season and the episode number in front of the name of the episode, so it would be easier to know which episode failed to sync. Like this: S01E01 - Reboot in Brooklyn That would be nice

I wish sync had an option to sync unwatched videos but I don't want it to delete them automatically. I would rather manage that myself. I only have an option to sync unwatched with it auto deleting when watched.

Ok if your Kodi (Openelec) is crashing during an initial sync I have found a workaround. -Load OpenElec x86 on a laptop or desktop. -Then setup emby addon the way you want it. -Once sync is complete and everything is working run an openelec backup and restore the backup on your pi. The incremental syncs work fine after that. It seems to be just that first sync it does not like. I have done this numerous times and works great. ENJOY

Hi, As above, users are able to sync from the web ui when their account options are set to not allow it: Simply clicking the hamburger top left then selecting a library, such as TV in my case, then all of the usual sync buttons appear for them. Hi, Just playing with the latest update.Everything is looking good. I thought I would try the sync function out properly. Is it working to external SD properly? I have cued up a few vids and a bit of music, it has converted okay and is ready to transfer. I ran the sync process from schedule tasks and it runs for 0 seconds. I have run it before but to the default directory (on another device) with success. Also, 1 step from my personal emby perfection, where in the pecking order of things to come would a sync favorite songs and shuffle favorite songs function be?

My setup is this: Emby Server Version 3.0.5786.0 running on FreeNAS within a Plugins jailMedia is stored on NAS and shared with CIFS and path substitution so there is no need for transcoding (this works great) ​Clients:​Both clients are running Version 3.0.298.0 Client computers are Core i3 2120, 4GB ram, SSD OS drive Networking is hardwired GigE Windows 7 Pro SP1 Chocolate theme using legacy folder browsing ​The issue that I am having is that when I watch an episode on client 1, its play state is not updated on client 2 unless I exit and reload Emby on client 2. The server is properly tracking the play state (can see all the info on the server information page) and the web and IOS app's play states are immediately updated. This has been an issue for me for a while (months) but I can deal with re-loading Emby if I have to. But, since I had a bit of time today, I thought I would ask on the forum if anyone else has this issue and if there is a possible solution. It would be very nice to have the ability in the Sync functionality to have an option to be able to only re-encode those media files which do not meet the specific sync "Profile". An example of this would be a scenario I am having where I am syncing all my movies to an external HDD which I take with me on travel and then play through a chromecast. With Sync currently it will go ahead and sync the entire movies folder re-encoding every media file and putting them on the external HDD. While that is all good and well it is a huge waste of processing power to re-encode all of those movies. What I ideally would like to see is an option that if selected will check the "Profile" of the media and if it matches the sync profile (regardless of sync quality setting) it will just copy that media file over and not do any converting. This would save countless hours of unneeded processing due to that I have mostly MP4 files which would play on the chromecast fine without conversion but I also have some MKVs which will not and I only need those to be re-encoded to the sync profile.

Hi, Rather than replace my car head unit with an android one, I was thinking of fitting my old one with a Chromecast audio and hotspotting it with my phone. Would this work? If it does would it play synced audio or would it default to playing a server copy? Would be great to be able to play flac directly in the car.

I would like to see the ability to be able to configure sync to only sync new content from the time I set up the sync. I am running into an issue currently where the previous harddrive I had ran out of space so I needed to get a new one and move the media there and upon doing that it thinks it needs to resync everything.

There does not seem to be a way to use sync with special features. It would be a nice addition to be able to sync special features either with a movie or stand-alone in the event that you just want to catch up on a few special features that you haven't had a chance to watch recently.

Hi everyone! Today I've upgraded my homeserver build and started my library from scratch, as the old one was quite messy. As a part of that cleanup action, I also wiped my Kodi installation and tried installing everything from scratch again, including the Emby addon. The authentication against my Emby server seems to work great, however not a single sync occurs and all sections remain empty without any items. I am running the Emby Addon v1.1.55 together with Kodi Isengard 15.2. I've attached a censored logfile which I took after setting the loglevel of the addon to debug. I have been having this intermittent issue with the initial sync causing a hang on my FireTv's, I thought maybe it was attributed to using incremental sync so I disabled that; however, the problem persists. It just did it on my Windows box so I grabbed the log file quickly and it's the same error. Doesn't do it every time, and restarting Kodi nearly always fixes it, but it probably does it 50% of the time none the less. Any idea where I should go from here? In this case, this is a nearly sterile install of 15.2 RC3 as I just reinstalled Windows last weekend on this box and haven't added any addons to speak of. Any chance the 1.1.48 release will address this?> kodi - Copy.log

There is a means of creating a sync task for latest recordings and for individual recordings, but not for recordings of a single series. Can this be implemented?

I'm using folder sync with 3.0.5724.6. It doesn't matter what profile or quality setting I choose, I get the same size of file with the same apparent quality (which is poor). For example, when I start with large file (1.4 GB), and convert to low quality baseline, or high quality general, I get two files of identical size (307MB) down to the last byte. I've tried this with three different files and the results are the same. Hi there Luke and the team, I didn't know where to put this one, and sorry to sound like a broken record. Are there any plans for the following Favourites tabs (or something), mainly for sync and so I don't look like a prat shouting "shuffle my favourite songs" in the car. Maybe with quick buttons to sync favourite songs, shuffle favourite songs etc, the voice command is cool but doesn't always work great in the car with background noise while Bluetoothed to the head unit and a wobblegob wife and child on the go. Playlist resume, auto playlist resume recognisable by what you are connected to, i.e. if I connect in the car it knows just to resume what I was listening to, there is a bit of an issue where, if the charger is connected and I power cycle, i.e. waiting in the car park for the wobblegob, paying for fuel etc. it forces the app to refresh and I have to start from scratch, usually shouting shuffle my favourite songs. Also, i was thinking of investing in an android head unit for the car so I could have Emby playing directly with no bluetooth connection and hopefully some steering wheel control so these functions would be great. 2 steps away from my music wet dream. Just some ideas, if you can fit them in.

Hi All, Installed Emby again after walking away from it for 6 months and i have got to say it's moved on quite a lot since i last used it. Having a problem now with 'Syncing'... I have installed the 'Google Drive' Plugin and entered the App Key and Secret Key but when i got a an item in my library and select 'Sync' in the drop down box that appears on the right hand side there is nothing there to select where i am syncing to. Hi I updated my account for a month payment for use Sync features, but I´m having problems with OneDrive. When I click in "Create a Dropbox App Key and Secret" or Create a Dropbox App Key and Secret, nothing is showed and I can't create my Dropbox App. Could you help me please ? Thanks

HI all, I just purchased Emby from the Windows 10 store 3 days ago and installed on a fresh W10 installation. I have a media server running on FreeNas with emby plugin. The server has link aggregation with 4x Gb NICs and connec ts to the client via Cat6, delivering regularly on copy a throughput of over 100MB/s. So far my experience has been way less than desirable, so I have to think the problem is with me and not the software. The issues I have encountered so far: 1. MKV with default Italian audio - I can select in the player the other languages but the audio track does not change. It shows the new one selected in the pop up menu on the bottom right hand side of the player, but the audio itself does not change. 2. Player video freezes but sound and movie continues. It has done this on numerous occasions with different movies at different places in the timeline. Restarting the movie at the broken spot does not cause the issue to re-appear and the movie plays well the second time around. This has been particularly frustrating 3. I set up a sync job via the emby drop down menu at the top of the screen. The one inside settings. Ever since, all movies show a sign of "queued" but upon going into the sync jobs again to delete the queued job, it does nothing when I hit delete. I cannot delete this job and it is stuck on 0% since 3 days ago. Worse still, it seems to freeze the app when i try and delete the sync and I have to CTRL-ESC to get control back on the PC. 4. Mouse and keyboard stop working inside the settings menu at times. I have to exit emby and restart to get the mouse & kbd back. 5. I cannot figure out how to use VLC instead of the player in the download. Is this possible? 6. The server is collecting metadata so I cannot understand why the images emby presents for the movies on the initial landing pages are stretched images from a scene in the movie and not the movie art. These look terrible and out of shape. How do I get it to show movie art only? Is it me or is the software less than stable? Can someone help me with information on debugging my situation. Hello, I've tried this on two different portable hard drives, but I cannot get the sync plug-in to choose a folder other than the root folder on each drive. Has anyone else experienced this? Reboot did not help. This is on sync 3.0.5582.40801 and server 3.0.5675.1 I can't see anything obvious in the server log, but here it is anyway. server-63573638400.zip
