    last.fm addon gone?

I just did a reset of my whole system and reinstalled emby 3.0.5786 and recognized that the last.fm scrobbler plugin was completely gone from the catalog. I know that they pretty much messed up their API, but are there chances that scrobbling music from emby will come back anytime?
  2. I have an old show encoded in XVID inside AVI containers. When I DirectPlay them on a device that supports AVI/XVID, they play fine, but if transcoding kicks in then the video turns into a garbled pixelated mess with tons of macroblocking. The audio sounds fine. This happens on all devices when transcoding. Here are the transcoding logs: ffmpeg-transcode-13c2ec0e-ff80-4827-b534-fd0bcc046eea.txt ffmpeg-transcode-fc23c1d9-8a80-4821-b2ec-1c32e92785c8.txt Media Info for the file: Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave File size : 232 MiB Duration : 24 min 42 s Overall bit rate : 1 311 kb/s Writing library : VirtualDub build 13720/release Video ID : 0 Format : MPEG-4 Visual Format profile : Advanced Simple@L5 Format settings : BVOP2 / GMC3 Format settings, BVOP : 2 Format settings, QPel : No Format settings, GMC : 3 warppoints Format settings, Matrix : Default (H.263) Muxing mode : Packed bitstream Codec ID : XVID Codec ID/Hint : XviD Duration : 24 min 42 s Bit rate : 1 173 kb/s Width : 640 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 4:3 Frame rate : 23.976 (23976/1000) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Compression mode : Lossy Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.159 Stream size : 207 MiB (90%) Writing library : XviD 1.0.2 (UTC 2004-08-29) Audio ID : 1 Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 3 Format settings : Joint stereo / MS Stereo Mode : Joint stereo Mode extension : MS Stereo Codec ID : 55 Codec ID/Hint : MP3 Duration : 24 min 42 s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 128 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : 3 s 3 ms Stream size : 22.6 MiB (10%) Alignment : Split accross interleaves Interleave, duration : 42 ms (1.00 video frame) Interleave, preload duratio : 500 ms Writing library : LAME3.95
  3. Bug: Image Fetcher settings are not saved if other edits have been made and not saved first. Workaround is to manage the Image Fetchers BEFORE making any other changes Severity: Important/High OS/Apps Effected: Server (via Web) OS/Apps Effected relates to hardware that I have access too. If it doesn't state other OSes, it's not that it doesn't exist, rather it's that I don't have the hardware to check for it.
  4. Hello All. I currently have a Emby Server on Windows 10. I have it pretty much how I want. I use Storage Spaces with a handful of drives. I want to dual boot my PC with Fedora or Linux Mint and also set up my Server on it as well. This server will have its own drive but it will have the same data as the other. The perfect situation is that no matter which system I boot into, Emby is running fine in the background. I have just downloaded an add-on app to save my server settings. I have a copy of those settings on my new drive. So, I am needing some help on how to migrate these settings from a Windows 10 install to either a fedora/Linux Mint install. Is there a guide, link, or walk through that will show me what to do? The hardest part about setting up a new server is getting everything just right. I would like to make that not as difficult, especially adding the users again. Thanks!

    International Viewing.

Hey, So, context to my situation, I am in the process of immigrating to Canada via USA. I have set a server up at a location in the United States (this unit will move to Canada within six months from now) & want to view my content from Canada through my Xbox One. Is it possible to access a server located in the USA from Canada?
  6. Hi, I am a new user (came from Plex). Just got an Apple TV and downloaded the app on the Apple TV and on my Mac. The server is on a hard-drive connected to my Mac. I am trying to access the server through Emby from my Apple TV and it is showing the screen Welcome to Emby. Inserted photo. I went through the Enter server Address. ( I tested it on another computer PC - worked just fine). And it does not even show an error screen just loops back to the same "welcome to Emby". I have checked my LAN setting on the Apple TV and reset them, nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Holly
  7. One of the remote users on my server has been reporting freezing and stuttering quite often despite waiting for the transcode to reach 100%. It has happen across several different movies. It will play fine for some time but after 10-30 minutes the movie will freeze and it will never stutter and freeze from that point on. The movie is always 100% transcoded before playback begins and both of our speeds are quite sufficient for streaming and we experience no problems on any other sites. Were mainly using the web interface and google chrome for the remote user to play movies but have tried using embycon for kodi and experienced the same problem but much worse (froze every 2 minutes). I've tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration as well as limiting the bitrate. In the past we've had success using 1080p 5mbps and waiting 30-45 minutes before playback. Now with the same settings were experiencing way more problems. Not quite sure what more i can try.
  8. Hi all I haven't been on the forums for a very long time and am back for a query. Since Media Browser and the rebranding to Emby I have seen Emby transform into a masterpiece and am very thankful for the teams that have put in the effort and time into this nifty set of software and different packages out there to suit peoples desires in terms of being compatible between Operating Systems and devices. This will most undoubtedly be mentioned throughout the forums but I just somewhat do not know what to search when it comes to this. I have looked among the different options for the NAS Servers but have not come to any conclusion as to what is better or for my needs. I also don't have much of an idea when it comes to hardware or OS and what's available. If any users that have experimented with more than one device or OS that can actually comment on what they found better in comparison would be much appreciated. I am still interested in what users have to say about one still if that is all they managed to use. 1 - People who have experience in the different NAS devices? (QNAP, Synology, WD, Seagates, etc.) What components benefit what and why? Possibly specs or a basic rule of thumb for when it comes to picking hardware The gist from what I've seen really is, if I am wanting the server to transcode, I will need a decent CPU to follow suite, but if I am direct streaming or direct playing, the hard work has been taken out of it and can go for something on the lighter end? 2 - The different OS and what each ones pro's and con's are? (ASUSTOR, FreeNAS, Open Media Vault, QNAP, Synology, etc.) Just an OS on the whole. Features and ease of use. Can I change OS regardless of the device I end up with and could I run into problems doing this? Mainly where Emby shines the most in terms of being easy to set up and close to error free as a package as this is my main purpose of wanting a NAS Server. (I am aware that none of them have been under development for long so expect bugs and fixes needed) 3 - Anyone who has built a NAS Device and/or decided against a NAS and decided to build another PC for a server? Would it be advisable to build my own NAS or PC in terms of getting more what I want for a better price?I currently use my PC as the server streaming to a Samsung TV with the App, from what I believe, I don't think in my scenario transcoding it taking place at all as the media plays almost instantly and my CPU/ram usage on my PC doesn't seem to increase while running the server. The TV naturally plays MP4's and the bitrate I imagine is within what the TV handles as the MP4's are around 2gig each with 1080p video and stereo output. I would potentially would want the server to do a few other things such as a monthly backup of mine and my GF's PC's and possibly have remote access. Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for anyone that can be of assistance and has some input on the subject. Cheers Strugglez/ Mike.

    Emby Server 3.4

Hello, I noticed that this release did not appeared on the RPM Repo. Since it was mentioned that the RPM Repo is deprecated, I tried to install manually the RPM reported on the download pages, but it's failing on CentOS 6: --> Running transaction check ---> Package emby-server.x86_64 0:3.3.1.0-68.1 will be updated ---> Package emby-server.x86_64 0:3.4.1.0-1 will be an update --> Processing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.14)(64bit) for package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.15)(64bit) for package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.16)(64bit) for package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.17)(64bit) for package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.15)(64bit) for package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 (/emby-server-rpm_3.4.1.0_x86_64) Requires: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.15)(64bit) Error: Package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 (/emby-server-rpm_3.4.1.0_x86_64) Requires: libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.15)(64bit) Error: Package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 (/emby-server-rpm_3.4.1.0_x86_64) Requires: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.16)(64bit) Error: Package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 (/emby-server-rpm_3.4.1.0_x86_64) Requires: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.14)(64bit) Error: Package: emby-server-3.4.1.0-1.x86_64 (/emby-server-rpm_3.4.1.0_x86_64) Requires: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.17)(64bit) Maybe this one can work on CentOS7 only?
  10. Hey all, I haven't used emby since this time last year, was curious how the development on using the nvidia shield as a server has been. A few question I have are: When a new server update come out is it pushed to the android platform as well? How well does hardware acceleration work? How is overall performance people have experience while using the shield as their server? Thank you for the replies!

    what is "Download & Sync"?

I installed the latest beta and it may be a coincidence but emby has been filling a sync folder with 10GB of something. This folder is on my root disk which is not meant to hold data and is only 32GB. I looked through the server management pages and could not find anywhere to set this folder's location. I saw a management section called Download and Sync. It had one strange entry with thousands of something. I deleted that entry and hopefully my problem will go away. What does Download and Sync mean? I do all my downloading myself and put the downloads in my media folders.
  12. I'm running the emby server on my ubuntu 16.04 server. It has worked well a long time. I just did a "service emby-server restart" and I got a crash that looks like this ... $ service emby-server status ● emby-server.service - Emby Server is a personal media server with apps on just about every device. I upgraded the emby-server using dpkg (3.3.1.0 -> 3.4.1.0). The problem still remains. I tried unsuccessfully to find my logs. I have no directory "/var/lib/emby-server". The report-a-problem guide doesn't help. What should I try next?
  13. I use emby along with an rclone mounted google drive and every time it scans the library for new media, it takes a lot of time and bandwidth as well. Now, that's fine for regular use, but, I want to move my server to another computer. And, it looks like I need to re-scan everything and last time, it took 3-4 full days to do that. Is there a better way to migrate the metadata along with the server? I tried storing the metadata along with the media items. But, on testing with a few folders, it seems to be replacing the old nfo files and metadata with new ones after scanning the media again. Is it supposed to do that?

    Server Recommendation

Hey Guys, I am new here. I intend to run emby server for a shop. I have 8 iPads running, 1 smart tv and another client running on the server. The 8 iPads will be running either videos or streaming music. By default the iPads will be running video ads repeatedly. The Smart TV will be running Ads continuously and the client on the server will only be streaming music continuously. What sort of server do I need? Do I still need a GPU. As for content, it doesn't change often, I know there is an offline mode but it is still beta. Do I need a good router for the WIFI as well. Thanks in advanced for any feedback.

    New Server Build Sanity Check

So, I've been running my Emby server off of an old HP Pavilion for far too long now and I want to build something that'll allow multiple streams (preferably up to 10), excellent transcoding, and be able to handle all the peripheral tasks that come with adding content to the server. Downside, I don't have the funds to build the best thing ever. After perusing this forum for tips and suggestions, I've narrowed things down to the following build, and wanted to get some feedback and see if this will at least be close to getting what I want: CPU: Intel Core i5-8500 Desktop Processor Mobo: GIGABYTE Z370P D3 Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case PSU: Corsair CX Series 550 Watt 80 Plus Bronze Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper RR-212E-20PK-R2 LED CPU Cooler with PWM Fan RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) SSD for OS, etc.: SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB OS: Windows 10 Home Edition What am I skimping on? What am I spending too much money on? I have also never built a computer before so I really have no idea what I'm doing. Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Subtitles are not downloaded

Hi all, I am new with emby server and may be I am doing something wrong and dumb but currently I am not able to make my emby server installation to download subtitles from Opensubtitles.org My server is (Taken from emby log): Operating system: Unix 4.14.15.64 64-Bit OS: False 64-Bit Process: False User Interactive: True Processor count: 4 Program data path: /var/lib/emby Application directory: /opt/emby-server/system Application version: 3.2.70.9 This is armhf version running on AARCH64 based SoC. My subtitles config looks like this: When I add files to the library, I am able to see requests to subdb in logs like the following one: 2018-02-03 10:47:09.804 Info HttpClient: GET http://api.thesubdb.com/?action=search&hash=C28F1D11BDF12742BCF25572428233F7 but no requests to opensubtitles.org in logs (even with debug logging enabled) Also adding username and password to the config didn't help. Media Info for the file which is used for example: Same results with 3.2.70.6 and 3.2.70.0 versions. Thanks in advance. P.S. I tried to provide as much info as possible but if you need any other log/data, I will provide them ASAP

    HttpServer: Error in ProcessAccept

Hello I am having a issue where https connections will get a timed out or a connection reset when connecting to emby from browsers, apps or anything trying to connect using https. A http connection does work and I have no issues. This issue arises after a few hours of starting the server and my temporary solution is restarting the server each time this happens. However if I don't restart the server then eventually it will work with https but the time it comes back seems random taking hours to a days. Attached is my most recent server log and I went through it and see that I get some errors like this below. Could this be a issue with my ssl certificate? 2018-03-23 07:29:18.228 Error HttpServer: Error in ProcessAccept *** Error Report *** Version: 3.3.1.0 Command line: Server stuck on indexing

Hi there, i admit to be a new user and i signed up for the premiere monthly package to try emby up again my plex server. I have a large library and maybe this is related to my problem. That said my server has been stuck on indexing at 71.7 percent for two weeks now. I have restarted the app, the server many times but still gets stuck in the same spot. Where I am not familiar with emby i was wondering if perhaps i have something setup wrong. i wanted to attach the logs but when i click to download the lastest log it says its 4.3gb is that possible? Anyways i would be very interested to see it functioning properly. As it stands when i use the player i can see shows in the list no artwork and nothing will play Im assuming its because the server is hung on something. I will happy provide the logs if someone can explain to this newb of emby how to correctly download the logs. emby is running on a osx dedicated server with the latest software and latest production version of emby. Thanks in advance

    Casting to multiple devices

Currently I’m trying to get a media server set up to play corporate messages and videos around the plant. I’ve managed to set up Emby a powerful Intel Xeon PC, and I’ve been able to cast a video file to one of our Panasonic smart tvs. However, this is not exactly the ideal situation. Ideally I want to be able to play a single folder, with multiple video files inside, and play it on a constant loop to the 8 TVs around the plant. Is this possible in Emby? Currently I’m only able to cast one file at a time, to one TV at a time...

Emby Premium für andere Nutzer des Servers

Hi Leute. @@ebr Vielen Dank!
  25. For the last few months, when i've started emby, which hasn't been often, as i've been otherwise busy, it's worked ok, but then chrome crashes. This then leaves chrome crashing immediately on startup... forever... even without emby running. The only way i've found to fix it is to delete the Default folder in my user profile's Chrome - User Data folder. This then means chrome starts from scratch, asking me to login again and sync everything. Not the end of the world, but a mighty pain in the arse. Since the first occurrence, i've clean-installed my laptop a few times. Chrome would have updated itself continuously. So i don't think it's a windows problem, and possibly not a chrome problem... unless there's something in my synced profile. If i run firefox, i can then access emby just fine, and it works as usual. Any ideas?
