Hi Everybody, I recently bought the new Nimbustor 4 bays (great Asustor NAS by the way, I love it !!!) and i'm in the selection process to chose between PLEX & EMBY Server. I don't want to use both and I need to make sure I do the right choice for my usage. Of course I don't want to change my tools when I'm all set.... In any both case, I'll go for the lifetime premium version (same price for both) so my choice is not a question of price but only what is the best for my usage... At the moment, all working fine for Plex but for for EMBY, I can't display my raw files Pictures (.NEF from Nikon camera) I am an amator photographer and have like 100k pictures... so I'll not go for EMBY if it doesn't support .NEF files. Can you tell me if this is my setup to update (additional plug in to install ???) or if it just doesn't work? Note. I have the version 4.2.1 on my Asustor Nimbustor Thanks for your support Emmanuel
If you are interested in this feature please like the post. Many photo enthusiast use RAW files when they take pictures; they come in a lot of different flavors and extensions. Here from WIkipedia: .3fr (Hasselblad) .ari (Arri_Alexa) .arw .srf .sr2 (Sony) .bay (Casio) .cri (Cintel) .crw .cr2 .cr3 (Canon) .cap .iiq .eip (Phase_One) .dcs .dcr .drf .k25 .kdc (Kodak) .dng (Adobe) .erf (Epson) .fff (Imacon/Hasselblad raw) .mef (Mamiya) .mdc (Minolta, Agfa) .mos (Leaf) .mrw (Minolta, Konica Minolta) .nef .nrw (Nikon) .orf (Olympus) .pef .ptx (Pentax) .pxn (Logitech) .R3D (RED Digital Cinema) .raf (Fuji) .raw .rw2 (Panasonic) .raw .rwl .dng (Leica) .rwz (Rawzor) .srw (Samsung) .x3f (Sigma) It would be a nice addition to be able to manage and display these in the Photo library ! I have checked and my Nikon .nef are not handled by Emby
It would be really nice if we could have direct folder access to our media. Sometimes Emby doesn't detect files correctly and they dont show properly, or they are identified incorrectly. I dont realize this until the last second (when I/other users are about to watch the episode). If there was an option to show users the media library folders in a file explorer-like format, this situation would be easily bypassed. Originally, this is what I thought the "Folders" view would have done. I would greatly appreciate this, and I'm sure it would be useful to others as well. I hope it won't be difficult or take much time. If you have any questions regarding specifics, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!
