Hi there. First of all sorry for my englisch but I'm not a native speaker. I got problems with the multiple versions mentioned in the wiki. My file structure is like: /movies/genre/movie (year) or if its a collection: /movies/genre/collectionname/movie (year) I tried to name the movies like this: /movies/genre/movie (year)/moviename - directorscut /movies/genre/movie (year)/moviename [directors cut] both didn't work worked. Is the problem that it would only work if there are no genre folders? if this is the case it is pretty terrible because to have hunderts of folders in one directory sucks. is there a way arround this?

It seems like just the UI is hanging for some reason? Most recent log attached. Additional information: previous server was Emby 3.2.x on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, same backup plugin version, and these same backups restored successfully there. Cross-post from other topic I have some buffering problem in the app, even when transcoding is not needed. I have done some research. Buffering occurs most likely in the LG App because the server is almost idle when done with the "transcoding". After a couple of minutes, it starts buffering / stuttering, mostly within 2 minutes. When I skip through the movie, buffering is gone (even on the scenes where it first buffered, so it is not TS related), but re-appears within minutes. Pressing pause and play doesn't resolve it. At this moment I understand why there is some transcoding. The MKV is "transcoded" into a TS stream and the TS stream is used by the player in the LG. I'm at WebOS version 05.30.10, type LG UH850V

Hello! I really love Emby! I'm using it since 2013, when it was called media browser. I bought the license for emby for android and emby for android tv! But I have a lot of movies with subtitle (I am Brazilian) and emby has a poor support for subtitle: - I can't change colors - I can't change size - I can't add borders - and, most important, there is a bug when it will show a two line subtitle. The movie does a small (almost imperceptible) break. It's like a little pause with a little skip of frames. It is really fast, but, in a movie it happens all the time (since there will be a lot of two lines subtitles) and I can't watch that way. As a suggestion, try to make the subtitle support as efficient as MX Player, it has a awesome support for subtitles, with none of the above issues. Thanks for your attention!

Hallo liebe Gemeinde, Problem1: Ich brauche eure HILFE , es geht darum ich habe zwei Systeme wo Kodi 17.4 darauf läuft, einmal einen Fire tv2 und einen Fire tv stick und einen emby server auf dem RaspberryPi 3 . Ich habe das Problem das jedes mal wenn ich einen Film schaue und den zum Beispiel nach 30 min Stoppe wird er mir bei Kodi sowie auf dem emby Server als gesehen angezeigt und kann ihn nicht an der gestopten stelle weiter fortführen. Problem2: Wenn ich über meinen Computer schauen möchte dann kann ich die Filme anwählen aber er spielt sie nicht ab ffmpeg ist installiert . Desweitern meckert auch der Apple TV und gibt eine Fehler warnung heraus. just for reference ill use the standard IP network 192.168.1.0/24. my EMBY server is on 10 and the synology server with all my media is on 20. this is a deal breaker and I don't care if its has anything to do with the Microsoft update (I highly doubt it). Basically the server I have emby running on 10 can't read the folder on server with all the movies on it (20). This is new I have used emby for a long time. The WINDOWS server running emby can see locate the synology server with the files but just hangs whenever trying to access the folder. Its not a sinology problem there have been no updates. Now strangely if I sign in with wifi with 10 the problem goes away. Makes me think it has something to do with a second switch that I promise was added to my network correctly. Using all manner of programs from fing to net map (zen map for you GUI lovers) the whole network is tip top. Pinging, tracert, traceroute, everything is fine and working perfectly. The new switch was added for it's 8 10gb ports. both switches are netgear and are linked via LACP port aggregation so a 4gb pipe can be established between the two and my 10gb NICs aren't totally useless on my workstation. Look, I do this for a living and have never run into this before but as it started closely after adding the second switch am nice than willing to admit this is my fault if someone can show me how.(and please in case your wondering with I used port aggregation instead of the 10g fiber cable, something about the new 10gb switch is incompatible with my cable(I think I know what it is so please don't focus on that) There are no VLANS, lets see any other pertinent info. Oh make a better Synology APP that would solve all these problems although everything you learn is money In this buss so maybe this is a good thing I just ask you refrain from asking me questions you would ask grandma. I am facing an issue when trying to play some video content recorded with a Hauppauge HD-PVR box. When trying to playback the content, the resulting image has the wrong aspect ratio (sorry for the large size) In order to try to resolve this, I configured folder sync and marked these shows to sync with the high profile. No joy. So in order to provide an example here, I cut out 1 minute of the video and played it to ensure that the problem was still there. Hi all Playback device: mobile safari browser on ipad and iphone (ios 9.x), screen auto lock on (2 min) When I try to play a Music-album on mobile ios safari browser it only plays the first title. After the Screen locks it does not continue. I have to unlock the phone for playback to continue. I can not imagine that this is intended- what am I doing wrong? (I dont know if this is related, but when I press "play" on emby-interface I have to press "play" again on local iphone player. So it seems to use external player, not browser) Anyone can help? Hi everyone, I'm getting problems with playing my files. Here the explanations : To begin, I'm running emby server on my raspberry (raspBian OS) connected on ethernet. All is running fine. I'm abble to play some files from the windows media player in the network files, so I think there is no problem here. I'm running Kodi from my computer, connected by Wi-Fi on the same network as the Emby server of course. Installled the plugin Emby for Kodi, wrote the right ip address, verified twice. Connected as an administrator user of the server. All the synchronization is running fine, I can see all my movies, series with the right pictures, title, etc... But when I want to play a movie, kodi says "error" or nothing happens. Checked the log file, but as a beginner, I cannot determinate what is wrong and how to fix it. I am trying to load up my TV shows into emby which follow this structure: Shows/ 2015 Winter 2016 Spring 2016 Summer .... When I load these into my server and try to look at my library, emby says that my show is called "2015 Winter" instead of reading the actual show name. Is it possible to force emby to actually base it's show grouping by the filename of the video?

I wasn't sure if I should start a new topic for this, as I experiencing pretty much the same issues that Swynol and Daedalus experienced HERE: I originally posted this on that thread simply because it seemed directly related, but between worrying over whether that constituted thread-jacking, and the topic now having been marked 'Answered', I thought it might be better to start fresh (I will edit my post there to reflect this). I'm running Emby Server Beta on Windows 8.1. The main symptom is that all my supporter plugins are showing as "Trial expired", and when I go to their pages in the catalog, I just get a never-ending 'Loading' Circle. Emby Connect also seems wonky, as I can't link local users with their online Emby accounts; Users already linked can still use Connect to access the server over cellular (My only other internet connection), although when I try to log in through Connect in Chrome on the machine itself, my credentials aren't recognized. The logs show errors on every attempt to connect to verify plugin authorization, to the Emby Connect service and so on, in each case the log states "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.". It seems to be throwing A LOT of these errors, too, as I've had several 100MB+ logs over the past few days (The attached log from a fresh boot yesterday afternoon has since grown to 50MB overnight). The odd thing is that, despite the connection issues for plugin and Connect authorization, Emby Server updated both itself and the plugins just fine, and, as mentioned, I can use Connect to access the server from my cell on 4G. The "Thank you for supporting Emby" badge shows up properly on the Dashboard too (Not sure if that's relevant, but the last time I had a connection problem it disappeared). This is all happening as I finally have my server (the machine, that is) up and running again, after the motherboard and processor died a couple months ago, forcing me to use my laptop as a temporary server. I know from the fact that I didn't have these issues on the laptop that the cause should be located within the server, I've temporarily disabled my firewall entirely and placed the server in my router's DMZ just to eliminate that part of the equation, and I am fairly certain the issue isn't with my Emby configuration, as I've performed a series of fresh installs (both Release and Beta), and the issue was still present, but all I've discovered so far is what's NOT causing the problem, leaving me with no more of a clue as to what actually IS :-/ If anyone could help shed light on this, I would be seriously grateful, as while I do have a certain small amount of pride in my technical skills, I'm also pretty sure that I've come about as far as those skills will take me. Hi there! First of all, congratulations on Emby. It's an amazing piece of software. That being said, I'm having a little annoying problem: I can't get the external subtitles in Kodi on OpenELEC (Raspberry Pi) via DLNA to work. I've tried everything I could. The weird thing is that the subtitles work just fine in Kodi in the same machine where I run Emby Server, wich means, I believe, the subtitles are ok. It makes me think it's something in the DLNA process, but what do I know? Better ask the specialists, right? Hahaha I've also tried to send them to my Sony SmarTV and had no luck either. Any help would be very welcome. Thank you.

When I try to stream videos from my emby server (latest stable version) through kodi addon using http (didn't try through UNC paths), special characters appears with ? instead of the characters. Also that only happens with emby/emby addon/kodi, plex/plexbmc/kodi works fine with the same subs... Subtitles are Brazilian Portuguese. Is there any fix for that or only converting the subtitle to UTF-8 would solve it? I have a script that downloads the subtitles automatically, and I really wouldn't like to have this extra step of fixing subtitles after downloading them... I have a strange problem or a big hole in my knowledge. I use Emby and now have it installed on two Samsung smart-tv D-series and 1 F-series. I also use it as mediabrowser plugin on a htpc and Emby Theater on a laptop. Subtitles works on the D-series and on the Emby for WMC but not on the F-series or on Emby standalone. For same reason Emby recently stopped working on the F-series (I think Emby server changed ip-adress so i removed and istalled Emby again but subtitles in mkv:s or external .srt dont work any more. When i first installed Emby on the F-series I had problem to get subtitles to show until I found out I needed to press tools and select transcoding for the subtitles to work. In the fresh installed version of Emby when i press tools, I can´t select transcoding anymore. I only have the options subtitles, chapters and postition. I then downloaded and installed Emby on the E-series to figure out where the problem and found out that it works on both of them out of the box. Does anybody have an idea on what might be the cause? Most urgent is to get it working on the F-series but I wouldn't mind getting it working on the Emby Theater client as well since I am considering moving från WMC to emby all together :-) My conclusion is that since it works on the D-series and the HTPC there must be a client setting that need to be adjusted. However I can´t find a setting that might do the trick. I dont know which the previous version of Emby I used but I installed it around May this year but the version I use on the tv:s is 0.590. Hi guys, Tonight while playing a TV show using Emby addon, with direct streaming over HTTPS from Emby server, the playback stopped several times and went back to the episode selection. This happened to me at least 4-5 times in a 1hr episode. Waiting a few seconds and pressing <enter> on the episode, will resume playback most of the times but sometimes it will just restart playback from the beggining and I had to FF to the point when playback stopped. The network is solid too, I'm using a wired connection. Plus I never have this kinds of problem before without using the Emby addon (direct NFS play), or using it with Emby addon direct play/local paths (using NFS too). I don't have time to check direct stream over HTTP tonight but I will do it tomorrow to verify if the problem is in any way related to the protocol in use. One last note: in the addon setting I had defined the IP address of the server to connect to, not the name, but the server certificate CN value holds the server fqdn instead. While testing version 590 I tried to login manually to Emby, with the manual login option. I noticed that there is no "Sign In" button so it's hard to tell if you triggered the login or not. I think I'm also facing a login problem since when I put the wrong password and press <Enter> the app will give me a message that the user or password are wrong but when I put the correct password the app is not doing anything and it's not login in either. Since there is no "Login" button I can't tell if the app is really trying to login or not unless I check the server logs. Can anyone else try to do a manual login and tell me if it's working for you? On the other hand adding a "Login" or "Sign In" buttong would not hurt I guess.

Greetings! I recently swtiched from Plex to Emby because of some technical problems and I really satisfied with the software! However, I have a small problem with one of the media players in our house. We have two Asus O!Play and one WD TV Live players. And the WD one wont play .mkv files from the server, only .avis. If I try to play a .mkv files, it loads a bit, than its says that is cannot be played, etc. I checked around in the forum for some information about it, and I found this one. So I edited my WD TV Live .xml file according to this topic but my problem still persist. Can somebody please help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance. I really need some help here. Every time I start plex so that it starts up in the system tray my internet gets shut off for all other devices except for the media server. I've also tested this with other media server programs (media browser) and they seem to have the same problem. So it's not necessarily a problem with plex, but hopefully someone here knows how to help me. I'm streaming my plex server from a windows pc laptop to a roku 3 with the plex app. I'm using a linksys router. That's probably not enough specifics, but if you need more just ask. I've been scrounging around a lot and I can't seem to find anyone else with a problem like this. Maybe I just don't know the right terms to search for though.

ye I installed the plugins mentioned in the title but none of them is working. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there more to do than just to install them? I set my language and country to german/germany, perhaps this stuff dont work with "german" settings?
