@snazy2000: When trying the Netflix app the following error message appears: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19298307/netflix%20app.JPG Netflix is installed in Windows 8.1 and working. MBT: 3.0.5355.20270 Any help would be appreciated to determine how I can get this to work.

First of all, major thanks for all the hard work, MBT is an amazing upgrade, coming from having used MB2 for years. One thing I do really miss from MB2 is that when viewing series/movies in List View, it showed the item's poster together with the overview. In MBT, you instead get a shrunk-down version of the backdrop. Since there is already an icon-sized version of the backdrop next to the item name, you have the same image shown 3 times on one screen, which looks a bit off. It would probably look somewhat better with backdrops turned off (in which case it would just seem like a logo/poster-alternative), but that would somewhat defeat the purpose of having separate backdrops/posters. So my feature request would be to have an item's poster displayed above the overview instead of the smaller version of the backdrop (or make it a toggle). I searched the forums for the issue, but only found a single post on the issue with no reply, from back in January, so I thought it was worth bringing up. Thanks for listening, and, seriously, thanks for all the hard work you guys/girls put into this. You rock!

@Luke would you be a dear and make an app for us that provides movies and tv shows recommendations/suggestions based on items currently in our libraries. I would like to open my horizon a bit to new stuff. There are tons of databases like rotten tomatoes, trakt.tv, IMDB already have that implemented and can be access through their API. I wouldn't recommend this being built into MB since many may not care much for it. An app would do just fine. #crossing my fingers

Hi Team, I had a look through the forums to see if anyone had posted this yet and I was unable to find it, so I'm posting here. Apologies if it's already been suggested and rejected etc. As I'm working with files from multiple sources, each file has different audio stream and subtitle configurations. Whilst I have configured the default codec preferences to cater to the majority of films, one little first world problem annoyance is having to leave MBT to change the audio stream or to adjust subtitles. You can change these media options in the web-app version of MB, but the same functionality seems to be missing (or not yet added to) MBT itself. Thank you for your consideration mattispantone81

Dear Team: First of all, thank you to all of you for putting this whole thing together. I have been a MB Classic user for some time and love your platform. I recently upgraded to MB3 and MBT from the MB Classic (version 2). Guys, MBT repeatedly crashes as one is browsing content and when one reaches around the 2200 title. I have over 5000 titles in my library. With MB Classic this never happened. Granted that MB Classic took quite a while to load given the approximately 18TB of content that I have, and MB3 and MBT load much faster. But at least with MB Classic (integrated within the Windows Media Center) when all the content loaded, one could browse them without the system crashing. Is there currently a limit for the number of titles one may have in their library for MBT and hence the reason why it crashes after around the 2200 title? All of my content comes in well organized folders that has all meta-data info, folder graphics and backdrops already included so I don't think it's MBT trying to download new info. Luke, MBS Version 3.0.5326.13255 MBT Version 3.0.5327.40705 What should the MAX STREAMING BITRATE setting be set at if you want all of your media to be DIRECT PLAYED and not transcoded? I installed the MBT update on three (3) machines and two (2) defaulted to a setting of 3Mbps and one (1) defaulted to 8Mbps. Most of my media is below the 8Mbps setting, but RECOREDED TV can vary from 12Mbps to 20Mbps. I'm sure people with BluRay media will have even higher bit rate requirements. I believe this was included as a setting to assist with controlling remote play of MBT, but should it not be an option that you can turn off if you don't have that need? Rather confusing to now have to configure MBT Internal Player to behave the way I assumed it was all along. Does this setting in MBT over ride the TRANSCODING settings in MBS? Any guidance on how this should be configured for DIRECT PLAY or minimal transcoding would be appreciated.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm coming from years of using MB2. I've started playing around with MBT and movies and TV look fantastic. I've noticed though that when viewing TV that there are so many extra button clicks that I'm never going to get it past the WAF. I like the poster view. If I click a show poster, then it will open up and then I have to click Seasons at the top and then click the season (even if it's a single season) and then click the show. Is there any way to have it default into seasons (honestly, I don't need to see a synopsis of the show every single time I click on it) and directly into episodes if there is one season? I'm still learning my way around it so perhaps I missed it. Thanks Josh

maybe im going crazy ..... but I cant find themes for MBT only MBC. annoyingly the standard theme is awesome, but it doesnt seem to do things like play all, or organise music by genre.. overall, MB3 is looking incredible

MBS: Version 3.0.5321.35225 MBT: Version 3.0.5322.21219 (DEV) The DEV version of MBT above is not registering the USER that is logged in with Media Browser Server in ACTIVE DEVICES. MBS reports the Device and MBT Version that is running, but it does not register which user is logged on. This affects RESUME status and WATCHED status for any media you view. The systems sees the user as UNKNOWN, so no status information on media being watched is maintained. If I fall back to the OFFICIAL RELEASE version of MBT (3.0.5306.32477), MBS recognizes the user logged in and all media viewing information is again maintained correctly.

There may not have been a lot of public activity on the MBT development side for a while, but behind the scenes, there has been some significant movement. Media Browser Theater is currently going through a significant architectural re-write. Most of the changes are there to make the developer's lives easier, while also greatly improving the extensibility of the software (to support themes and more powerful plugins in the future). However, there are also major changes to the GUI incoming. This post is the first in what will be a series which will give you a preview of what is to come. It will be quite a while before this work is ready for release. Finally, in one of the last few updates of MBT, it is remembering the monitor and size from when I last closed the program. I don't know what has changed, but that is one of the last barriers to full time usage of MBT for me. I know with the rewrite of the program, browsing will become much more efficient, but is there a way right now to quickly skip ahead (say to movies with titles starting with S)? Either way, great job on all the advances in MBT.

Hey, I think it will be great if there is a option to browse TV Series by their Studios. Because MBS only downloads thumbs from internet to local memory (like below image), but are of no use. One more feature request, It is already a great feature that shows language of subtitle. In my collection there are some dual audio movies i.e. English, Hindi Audios So it will be better if MBT will show Audio language also. Also sorting by audio language option is a plus. What do you guys think, is this possible?

Seek help to remote access by other computer using MBC

Hi! I have setup the MB server in my Win7 computer. Everythings works fine with my home network, I can play through all content using notebook. My sister (also using win7 but not within my home network) which have installed the MBC and use TMT6 & MPC HC as playback player, can assess to the server, can enter into the media browser and surf the data base and select the movie, when play the movie, the TMT6/ MPCHC call out and play nothing but with warning " Can't assess media, use UNC path or substitution etc" I have created user account for her in Win 7 alreay and provide her the share & assess right. NO problem was found when use MBT to surf and play movie. Please help. Roy -
The ability to select a position in any season for Television and be able to "Play Next Continuously". This ability doesn't seem present in current MBT, I see no mention of this anywhere nor do I even seem to find anyone even asking about it. But it would be nice to set constant playback for TV and let it roll while doing other things.

Every time I start media browser theater it shows following screen. And when clicked on OK, MBT crashes. I tried removing (deleting all files in "%appdata%") and reinstalling MBT, but it didn't work. And one more thing, every time I install MBT it installs beta version automatically. If for instance you had already finished watching 24, 4 years ago. Only having Season 9 will not show any episodes in MBT...

UPDATE Just received an MBS update to Version: 3.0.5289.18702 Just tested MBT and both issues stated below seemed to have been corrected. WELL DONE!!! MBS Version: Version 3.0.5288.30195 MBT Version: 3.0.5287.42414 1. RESUME status is no longer being saved when playing a video in MBT with the latest Server update. 2. Trying to select the PLAYED check icon in MBT throws a THERE WAS AN ERROR PROCESSING THIS REQUEST result. MBT can pick up a RESUME status on a video if it was originally played with another client that still tracks RESUME (MBC, WebUI, Android). But, MBT will not keep any additional RESUME status if you play in MBT and stop the video again. If you watch video to the end in MBT, it will not update the status of the video to PLAYED.

Hi all, I am currently in the process of revamping my home theatre setup and came across media browser yesterday. I really like it! It integrates 90% of what I would look for in a media centre - which far more than the competition (resume play across devices, web interface, slick dash, editable metadata via server or web interface, correct detection of metadata, list goes on), It's also got partner approval for ease of use! I have stumbled across an issue though, so was hoping someone could help. I am running media browser server version: 3.0.5271.29451 on Windows 7 64-bit. I started out on Windows 7 for my client side, which seemed to work well for the most part (except some occasional video issue, but I think this might be solved with <UseCustomPresenter>false</UseCustomPresenter>) The problem is that I have opted for my client to be Win 8.1 due to options I can set on my box for increased boot time so now I am running: Media browser theatre version: 3.0.5265.16010 and the windows version is 8.1 64-bit. The interface loads fine and starts to pull through content for the dash, but when I go to a particular film whether via the folders or the Movies section, I get an error at the top of the screen: Music is able to play fine through the folders. This issue is not present using the web interface, so I do not think it is a server issue. Hi! I got the crazy idea to update MBT to Dev version 3.0.5233.39319 But run in to problems right away with a messed up aspect ratio. I uninstalled version 3.0.5233 and re-installed the official version but i still got messed up ratio. Does anyone know how to fix this or do i need to forget about MBT till it gets solved? I have attached a screen shoot from MBT and one from MPC. MPC is working like it should. MBT MPC

I have been using an old Xbox360 with MBC for a while, and it just red ringed and bit the dust. I'm thinking about a small/cost effective build to run MBT. Has anyone tried running MBT on one of Intel's Next Unit of Computing (NUC) devices? The one I was thinking about was the Celeron model (http://tinyurl.com/lz8cwkt). It is a little weak on CPU but it is listed as having a pretty powerful integrated gpu. For a machine that would cost less than $300 and is the size of an apple TV, I'd love for this to be sufficient. I'm planning to run Windows 8 or 8.1. If this won't work, I'll probably go the roku route instead.

Is there a way to create an extension such as ,BRY (just an example) to allow MB3 to list movies that we have on disc but not one the media server for reference for our theaters. We accomplished this with .disc extensions in xbmc (using metabrowser for metadata) and it worked great, it even allowed us to make a note that told us that you needed to insert the disc to play it. I was wondering if this was possible with MB3 and if so is there a way to make it show whether it is a physical dvd or blu-ray disc, or do I need to get creative with the metadata to achieve this with MB3? Already posted this in the MBT section, however, I supposed I should have placed it here, so here goes again: Hi, I would realy like to see a next button on the details page of TV episodes. This buttoin is available in MBS webbrowser, but not in MBT. When watching a TV series it would be nice when an episode has played to directly go to the next episode whithout having to go back to the seasons page. To be honest I am surprised no one has asked for this yet (unless I missed it of course). Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, noticed an update of MBT today (at least I saw the restart icon appear), which triggered a wish a have for some time now. Could you please have some kind of change log somewhere in the forum to tell us what the new version is all about? I have been missing it for some time now and thought it might be a good idea. Hopefully i'm not the only one that wants this. Thanks in advance.

Luke, Eventually, can we add support to the MBT screensaver to ignore folders/VFs?? Love the screensaver, but some backdrops are out of place... Box sets for example is a VF I wish I could ignore.
