Just installed Version 3.0.5781.1 on my windows 7 x64 server. I have an hdhomerun extend. The setup picked that up. I installed the emby xbox plugin as well. I setup two test media directories tv-test-- contains two folders for two series, one in avi form one in wtv form movies-test ---contains one dvd rip in ts folder form When i opened my xbox360-- i see the emby icon, open it , login as the only user i have. I see the TV and Movies . But I do not see any live tv. Should live tv /guide/epg work on xbox360? fyi, I am a kickstarter supporter for hdhomerun dvr and have a seperate pc running their dvr app. A raspberry pi running kodi with the view client. That works but of course we know no pretty epg yet. I was just thinking maybe i am missing out on emby.

Hi, I have Emby server installed on Windows 7 machine and recently I bought HDHomeRun model HDHR4-2DT. I've set it up with default settings and scanned for channels (Croatia is the location). Tried local LAN streaming through HDHomeRun View application and VLC and everything is working as expected, including automatic switching of picture ratio (16:9 -> 4:3 and back when streaming content changes). Then I've set Emby server to use newly found tuner (that part actually went pretty much automated). But when I try to look at the guide I get no info about the program and when I stream livetv picture is always shown in 4:3 ratio when viewing in the web browser. On the android on the other hand everything is looking OK but guide data is also missing. I'm attaching logs: freshly restarted server, first streaming livetv to a web browser (google chrome, tried before with firefox, also), wrong aspect ratio (should be 16:9 but it displays as 4:3); then streaming to android application - everything looking as it should be. Guide data for channels from hdhomerun device not showing in both cases (I have Mediaportal plugin still working, the same channels on MPTV Server are showing guide data as they should - using DVB grabbing for EPG). logs.zip

I have two issues that I'm unsure where to start with. First, when viewing the TV Guide on my Nexus Player, the left side of the guide (the part that displays the Station Name and Channel Number) is significantly cut-off. It almost appears that I'm seeing cutoff on left, right, and below the guide, but it's most noticeable on the left side. I've attached a picture I took to help demonstrate what I'm seeing. I encounter this in both the standard TV guide and the new Live TV Guide that is still in beta testing. I haven't run into this anywhere else within the App. Is there a setting to adjust the guide dimensions somewhere that could potentially be causing this? I've encountered this from the first day I tried Emby so I don't believe it to be an issue strictly in the beta path so I've posted it here. The second issue I'm having is that there are times when it appears that Emby isn't attempting to stream fast enough from my HDHomerun. I encounter significant image breakup and audio dropouts which would seem to indicate that perhaps it was a maxed out CPU, but if I look at my CPU usage it's below 10% for FFMPEG, which in and of itself isn't correct. Normally viewing HD programs I'll see usage up near 50% depending on current motion. I look at the HDHomerun's tuner status and the output bitrate is significantly lower than it should be for the program I'm viewing (HD shouldn't be below 2 Mbps in Heavy Mode even in h.264 unless it's a static image and it's most certainly not when I'm looking at this) I don't know which log you'd need for this issue (transcode or server) so let me know which you need and I'll supply whichever. I've encountered this issue on many versions of server both Dev and Release which is why I'm posting it outside of the Testing forum. My current versions of everything is below for reference. Thanks. I have installed ServerWMC version 1.0.0.58 build 1199 on my HTPC and I have Emby version 3.0.5724.3 installed on my FreeNAS server. When I click on the Live TV tab on the left side of the dashboard, it seems to recognize everything properly like below: Also when I go to try and watch a live tv feed, it shows all of the channels and guide information on the interface like below: However, when I click on "play" after selecting a channel, the only thing I get is a spinning (loading icon) and I am unable to watch anything. I am including my log file if this helps. server-63577062861.txt

Hi Everyone Been using mediabrowser/emby for a few years now and very happy with this platform. Previously using win7 and WMC for live tv with serverwmc and it was flawless. I've upgraded to insider release of windows 10 build 10240. I have been using the web client using IE and Edge, with nextPVR installed for LiveTv LiveTv works fine using NextPVR client directly, it's fast and doesn't use a lot of resources. Emby works well too, it's fast and responsive. I needed to address loopback issues to localhost using netsh so Microsoft Edge and the Win10 client from illusions can access localhost http services. So far, this works a charm and I really like both the native win10 client and web client, great work!. My issues started when I setup the NextPVR plugin to work with Emby. Firstly, NextPVR was returning a 500 error, which I was able to resolve. The NextPVR web client used by Emby was failing due to authorisation issues attempting to access ASP.NET temporary files under .NET Framework folder - even though their website is not hosted in IIS and I didn't have a "ASP.NET temporary files" folder. Fixed by creating the appropriate folder and applying the correct security perms to the System account. I could then access the NextPvr client and it worked via emby. Second issue I've encountered now is when I start up a LiveTV stream in emby, after a 30sec + wait time (due to transcode I'm guessing?), the stream from NextPVR will stream for a very short time then it cuts off in IE. In Edge, no stream loads and says "There was an error playing the video. Please ensure there is an open tuner available." - even though in NextPVR I can see the stream start and transcode. When I looked in the emby server logs with LiveTv debugging enabled), I noticed the following error: 2015-07-22 21:30:46.2533 Error - HttpAsyncTaskHandler: Error occured while Processing Request: Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5675.1 Command line: C:\Users\Home\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False Program data path: C:\Users\Home\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server Application Path: C:\Users\Home\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. I've posted the full log file plus transcode logs to assist with diagnosis. I know Windows 10 is not RTM yet so I may get this is not supported, but it is only a week away and with people intending on upgrading and using NextPvr as their LiveTV solution with Emby, I'm hoping someone can provide direction to help sort this out. transcode-9951c7db-41f2-4868-a3ff-fa21a922812c.txt server-63573194482.txt transcode-0625bfc7-b1cc-4471-ae74-b20dbbc738c8.txt

If you are using Media Portal and want to link it into MB3, I've added a plugin to catalog in the LiveTV section. See here for prerequisites and installation instructions. Please post issues here, alternatively post to this topic and I'll intermittently pick them up.

I haven't had a ton of time to try this out, but I have tried on the web client, fire tv stick and the android client and I can't get a live TV stream to last for more than 3-5 minutes at a time and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there any known fix? Let me know if there is a log I can provide that would help (is it in the server log or somewhere else?) identify any problems. Thanks!

Why: This was the second time within a month, of having to reset the PlayReady DRM used with WMC LiveTV, do to a hardware upgrade. So being lazy as I am...I wrote a script so I wouldnt' have to hunt down the Web Pages describing the proceedure, then doing everything manually. Warning: Don't run this for giggles, any DRM content you have now, may become unusable. So only run this when shit truely has hit the fan. References: Microsoft TheGreenButton Requirements: AutoIt ResetDRM (Silently Downloaded if Not Found) 7-Zip (Silently Download & Installed if No Supported Unarchiver Found) or WinRar How: The script deletes the old DRM Keys & Cache, and sets you up to create new keys. It does this by deleting the required files, and running CleanDRM, which is a part of ResetDRM, in a manner that works with both Win7 & Win8...and may also work with Vista. To do this it must extract CleanDRM from ResetDRM along with supporting files. This is ideally done by one of your installed Archive apps (WinRar or 7-Zip), but if none are found it will download and silently install 7-Zip. Instructions: Install AutoIt and set it to execute scripts when double clicked. Install one of the Archiver app's listed above. Now Right Click on desktop and select "New\AutoIt v3 Script" from the context menu, and Rename it "ResetDRM.au3" Now Right Click "ResetDRM.au3" & select "Edit Script" from the context menu. Now paste the following code into: #RequireAdmin #Include <Array.au3> Dim $aFiles[3] = ['ADVPACK.DLL' , 'CleanDRM.exe' , 'resetdrm.inf'] For $ii = 0 To UBound( $aFiles ) - 1 If FileExists( @ScriptDir & '\' & $aFiles[$ii] ) <> 1 Then If FileExists( @ScriptDir & '\ResetDRM.exe' ) <> 1 Then InetGet( 'http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkId=105000' , @ScriptDir & '\ResetDRM.exe' ) If FileExists( @ScriptDir & '\ResetDRM.exe' ) <> 1 Then MsgBox( 0 , 'Error:' , 'Failed to Download ResetDRM.exe' ) Exit EndIf $s7zip = _7zip_RegRead() $sWinRAR = _WinRAR_RegRead() Select Case $s7zip <> '' RunWait( $s7zip & ' e ResetDRM.exe -aoa' , @ScriptDir , @SW_HIDE ) Case $sWinRAR <> '' RunWait( $sWinRAR & ' e -o+ ResetDRM.exe' , @ScriptDir , @SW_HIDE ) Case Else If _7zip_Fetch() = -1 Then MsgBox( 0 , 'Error:' , 'Failed to Download 7-zip' ) Exit Else $s7zip = _7zip_RegRead() RunWait( $s7zip & ' e ResetDRM.exe -aoa' , @ScriptDir , @SW_HIDE ) EndIf EndSelect FileDelete( @ScriptDir & '\ResetDRM.exe' ) ExitLoop EndIf Next ; Stop Windows Media Center Receiver Service RunWait( @ComSpec & ' /c net stop ehRecvr' , '' , @SW_HIDE ) ; Remove Files FileDelete( @AppDataCommonDir & '\Microsoft\PlayReady\mspr.hds' ) FileDelete( @AppDataCommonDir & '\Microsoft\eHome\mcendindiv.hds ' ) ; Remove Folders DirRemove( @AppDataCommonDir & '\Microsoft\PlayReady\cache\' , 1 ) DirRemove( @AppDataCommonDir & '\Microsoft\eHome\cache\' , 1 ) ; Copy Files FileCopy( @ScriptDir & '\ADVPACK.DLL' , @DesktopDir & '\ResetDRM\ADVPACK.DLL' , 9 ) FileCopy( @ScriptDir & '\CleanDRM.exe' , @DesktopDir & '\ResetDRM\CleanDRM.exe' , 9 ) FileCopy( @ScriptDir & '\resetdrm.inf' , @DesktopDir & '\ResetDRM\resetdrm.inf' , 9 ) ; Execute ResetDRM RunWait( @ComSpec & ' /c CleanDRM -v' , @DesktopDir & '\ResetDRM\' , @SW_HIDE ) ; Remove Files DirRemove( @DesktopDir & '\ResetDRM\' , 1 ) ; Display Message MsgBox( 0 , 'Finished:' , 'Wait for Update PlayReady to Display' & @LF & 'Then Click "Update" & Finish Wizard.' , 5 ) ; Launch WMC in LiveTV Mode Run( @WindowsDir & '\ehome\ehshell.exe /mcesuperbar://tv?live=true' , '' ) Func _7zip_RegRead() $String = RegRead( 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\7-Zip' , 'Path' ) If $String = '' Then $String = RegRead( 'HKLM64\SOFTWARE\7-Zip' , 'Path' ) If $String <> '' Then If StringRight( $String , 1 ) <> '\' Then $String &= '\' If FileExists( $String & '7z.exe' ) Then Return $String & '7z.exe' Else Return '' EndIf Else Return '' EndIf EndFunc Func _WinRAR_RegRead() $String = RegRead( 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\WinRAR' , 'exe' ) If $String = '' Then $String = RegRead( 'HKLM64\SOFTWARE\WinRAR' , 'exe64' ) If $String <> '' Then $String = StringLeft( $String , StringInStr( $String , '\' , 0 , -1 )) If FileExists( $String & 'WinRAR.exe' ) Then Return $String & 'WinRAR.exe' Else Return '' EndIf Else Return '' EndIf EndFunc Func _7zip_Fetch() $sFile = @TempDir & '\' & _RandomString() & '.html' InetGet( 'http://www.7-zip.org/index.html' , $sFile ) $sBuffer = FileRead( $sFile ) FileDelete( $sFile ) $RegEx = StringRegExp( $sBuffer , '(?i)<A href="([^"]+?)">Download</A></TD>' , 3 ) If @OSArch = 'X86' Then $iDownload = _DownloadSevenZip( $RegEx , '.exe' , '/S' ) Else $iDownload = _DownloadSevenZip( $RegEx , '.msi' , '/quiet' ) EndIf Return $iDownload EndFunc Func _DownloadSevenZip( ByRef $sInput , $sExt , $sSwitch ) For $ii = 0 To UBound( $sInput ) - 1 If StringInStr( $sInput[$ii] , $sExt ) > 0 Then $sFileName = StringTrimLeft( $sInput[$ii] , StringInStr( $sInput[$ii] , '/' , 0 , -1 ) ) $iFetch = InetGet( 'http://www.7-zip.org/' & $sInput[$ii] , @ScriptDir & '\' & $sFileName ) If $iFetch = 0 Then Return -1 RunWait( @ComSpec & ' /c ' & $sFileName & ' ' & $sSwitch , @ScriptDir , @SW_HIDE ) FileDelete( @ScriptDir & '\' & $sFileName ) Return 0 EndIf Next EndFunc Func _RandomString() $sString = '' Dim $aSpace[3] For $i = 1 To 15 $aSpace[0] = Chr( Random( 65 , 90 , 1 )) ; A-Z $aSpace[1] = Chr( Random( 97 , 122 , 1 )) ; a-z $aSpace[2] = Chr( Random( 48 , 57 , 1 )) ; 0-9 $sString &= $aSpace[Random( 0 , 2 , 1 )] Next Return $sString EndFunc Now save the script & execute it by double clicking it and if all went well...then you should be greeted by WMC launched to LiveTV, given a bit of time you should be prompted to Update PlayReady DRM...Click "Update" and complete the wizard....sorry couldn't figure out a way to automate this.

When using the roku app, the favorites list in the LiveTV section drops channels a lot of times. On the web guide I'll have maybe 14-16 channels, 12-13 of these channels will show up on the favorites list on the Roku. Most of the time the channel at the end will be missing from the favorites list. Logging out and logging back in sometimes fixes the problem. Say I have 516-530 favorited, 530 will likely be missing as well as one or two channels in between from the Live TV stripe. Web view of EMBY will be fine though in browser. Roku 1.96 Server tried 3.0.5572.0 as well as 3.0.5582.2 beta HDHomeRun prime ServerWMC 1.0.0.56 build 1190 Not sure where to begin with a bug report like this. Which logs need to be provided? I can dump the server logs for sure... not sure how to get records from the other systems if required. Anyone else have an issue here or know how to fix this? EDIT: Found how to enable development mode on the Roku, will try to get some paired server and roku logs if a dev thinks this is required.

Hi @@Chubby Arse and @@e123enitan, I decided to switch to MP since WMC future in Windows10 is up in the air and im also having issues with the back to back recordings (posted on the ServerWMC sub-thread). I have everything wokring in Kodi and when i preview Channels in the TV server config. Im using a Hauppauge Colossus, MPExtended 0.6, Emby server Beta 3.0.5572.0 and MP 1.11 The reason there is no sound is because the output file is coming out as AAC audio instead of AC3 Audio ID : 64 (0x40) Menu ID : 137 (0x89) Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format version : Version 2 Format profile : LC Muxing mode : ADTS Codec ID : 15 Bit rate mode : Variable Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : -37ms Any ideas

I have been thinking for the past few days about how the Live TV and Auto-Organize functions could be kinda merged.. Would there be any way (plugins or third party software) that I could automatically convert the recorded TV to something like avi or mp4 and then have them picked up by Auto-organize and added to the library as a normal show? This would help fill in the gap with the whole system.

Hi, I am having a problem with LiveTv from ServerWMC. I can play a channel and it start and will always stop after a second or so. I have tried Chrome, IE, android clients for the playback using MB and they all behave the same. I have tried very low to very high bitrates. Always stops. Machine1) MediaCenter running on Window7 with ServerWMC version: 1.0.0.52, build: 1175 Machine2) MediaBrowser 3 Server running on Linux (Debian) 2015-01-08 00:00:00.1262 Info - App: Application version: 3.0.5482.1 I have attached all the logs from a play attempt. For the attached files I tried setting ServrWMC BufferDelayLiveMS to 5000 and it did play for 5-6 seconds vs 1-2. It seems like MBS is telling the stream to stop. 2015/01/08 06:34:52.731 Received client request: MediaBrowser^@OMV@2|192.168.15.50|CloseLiveStream Possible due to a transcoding issue? I have a feeling this is a bit of a long shot, but I figured if anyone knows they're probably in this forum. I've got a pretty standard set up: - HTPC running Win7 and ServerWMC - Server running WHS and MediaBrowser Server - Cable via InfiniTV tuner and FIOS CableCard (it's an InfiniTV4 in the HTPC, actually) - Acer C710 Chromebook w/ 6GB RAM - A variety of devices (Macbook, Fire HD7, iPad, FireTV, etc, etc) My issue is that LiveTV performance on the Chromebook is awful. Even at the lowest quality setting, playback stutters and freezes (worse at higher qualities, but even at the lowest it's frequent enough to make actually watching TV impossible). The odd part is that the problem only exists on LiveTV (well, LiveTV and recordings) on the Chromebook. All other media (even 1080p rips) play perfectly fine on the Chromebook, and LiveTV works fine on the Macbook in Chrome (I haven't tested all of the other devices yet, since the Chromebook is my primary device). I'm wondering if anyone has run into this issue. Is there any difference in how MBS/SWMC handles transcoding (my understanding is it's .wtv to .ts?) vs how SWMC handles transcoding other media types? Is the output of SWMC's transcoding some format that just isn't well handled by ChromeOS (or my particular hardware)? I've tried toggling hardware acceleration in chrome://flags, but I don't see any observable difference one way or another. If this is the root cause, would an HDHR Prime potentially solve this problem via DLNA? I've monitored load (CPU and network) on the HTPC and Server and I haven't seen any observable difference between loads streaming to the Chromebook (poor performance) and Macbook (excellent performance) with LiveTV. I also haven't seen any difference in performance on the Server between LiveTV and other media. In all cases, CPU usage tops out at ~60%, network at ~2%. That's further fueling my suspicion that this comes down to ChromeOS and/or Chromebook hardware. If folks feel there is potential value in reviewing logs, I can work on gathering them up (probably take me a day or so due to work schedule). So there ya have it. Anyone have any bright ideas? Am I overlooking something trivial? Am I doomed? Edit: Forgot to say thanks to the amazing devs creating and supporting MB and SWMC. Seriously, I can't imagine my media setup with out it.

Hi, Am I missing something or does Android app really doesn't have guide page/tab under LiveTV? In browser I get nice TV guide but I can not find it in Android app...

I'm not sure it is ok to sent request like topics into support forum but I couldn't find a more proper place. Today I was looking for a specific Live TV channel on Safari mobile. It was kind a hard to use next-next to find it. I know I can configure number of listed items but on slow connections It may not be the good solution. Now I'm thinking that it would be very nice to make channel names or even guide content searchable globally. Any plans or thoughts? For the record; I was trying to find broadcast time and broadcaster channel for Nadal-Djokovic game to set lift-off time from our trip

Would it be possible to add Live TV streaming into the android app ? I only have NextPVR configured. Wasnt sure if they have a joint api you can use or it would be seperate coding for each

What is the purpose of the LiveTV option in the metadata manager? When the option is expanded the TV stations/channels are listed...great. However, when I click on a station/channel all I get is the spinning (I am working...) icon. What is supposed to occur? May I suggest that this specific option or a similar one be developed as an alternate option to the TV guide, that allows quick access to a TV station/channel. This would alleviate some of the issues identified in other posts regarding the current necessity to page through (paging operation is slow!) several TV guide pages in order to get to a desired TV station/channel.

Have livetv sort of working, Wont work on my main HTPC (tried ie and chrome) Works on my main pc via Chrome (but not ie) also works on my Android Phone via Chrome Anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't be working on my HTPC?

NextPVR Live TV doesn't work in browser - closing stream from Next Pvr
Oopsjoppe posted a topic in NextPVR
