Hi everyone. My first post in this forum. I hope someone with some experience on emby API can help me figuring out how to call this endpoint. (https://app.swaggerhub.com/apis/vdts/jellyfin-server_api/1.0.0#/default/ResetTuner) The background is.. I use a 'virtual M3U tuner' on Jellyfin server that connects to a remote m3u file. This gets only updated if I do so on the admin panel at the EPG Data Refresh. By resetting the tuner, I suppose this would basically reload the remote m3u file but I don't know how to use it. I know it is a POST request, I've tried the payload using {'operationId':'RefreshItem','Id':'38d682202ec8345f5b7381f656f921e9c '} but I cant quite understand what does the Id refer to. That number there is what I can read on the browser address ..../livetvtuner.html?id=8d682202ec8345f5b7381f656f921e9c when getting into the tuner settings page. Any clue? Thanks in advance,

Hello, Feature request: Add a setting within the LiveTV settings that would execute the thumbnail image creation task (even just for that single file). I see the section for "Recording Post Processing" and would think that a selection there to have the thumbnail image creation task to run (or again, just process that single file). I could set the thumbnail creation task to run every hour, but that seems messy and an unnecessary amount of task run cycles. User Case: I will often watch a recorded TV show later on the same day that the show was recorded (or even shortly after the recording has ended) and to ease in fast forwarding of commercials and pre/post recording buffers I want to have the thumbnails available without having to manually run the thumbnail image creation task each time. Hi, When I watch Live TV on the Android app, it regularly freezes a few seconds, than continues without problem. It is not a big problem, it is just annoying. I have added my latest server log. Problem happened around 21:43, and there seems to be a "Response 204". I don't know if it helps. Thank you for your help. Hello, I'm using Emby for some years now to manage my offline movies. For playback I'm using Kodi but I'm currently try out the live TV features of Emby and possibly will switch completely to Emby. My question: Is there a possibility to define the default audio track to be used in live TV? Concretely I want the AC-3 audio track to be played preferably (if available). At the moment, Emby seems to play always simply the first audio track, what is mostly MP2. I'm using DVB Viewer Recording Service as TV headend. Alternatively it would be great if Emby could remember the selected audio track per TV channel. With that I could select the AC-3 track once per channel and the next time it would be already selected. I understand this is not implemented, right? Thanks already for your help, Michael

Hi! Sometimes, my scheduled recordings only record a few minutes. And when the recording is added to the library, it says the recording is around 13 hours long ! When, i start playing it, it works for a few minutes, then freezes and I cannot watch further. Help on this would be greatly appreciated ! Edit: It works when i turn Emby on my TV, but for some reason it does not work when i want to use emby on my laptop. Any ideas? Hello all, i have tried to use liveTV, and it does not play any channels. I used this feature in the past (3-4 months ago). Back then everything was working just fine. I even configured emby to record a movie to disk, which was amazing. I tried to play a channel today and there is just circle spinning, thats all. I tried using web browser/chrome, then i used on my windows emby premier , also same thing. Is there anything someone can help me with ? LEt me know if i can add some logs. Not sure which one to check. In the TV / VLC i tried to open it, and everything there is working just fine. Hallo, ich plane auf meinem Embyserver nun die Funktion des LiveTV zu nutzen und am wichtigsten ist mir das Feature z.B. einen Film aufzunehmen und zum Beispiel 30 Minuten später wenn ich nach Hause komme die Aufzeichnung anzuschauen während noch weiter aufgenommen wird, sodass ich dann die Pausen überspringen kann und irgendwann womöglich die Live fassung "einhole". Leider kenne ich mich aber im Bereich TV/IPTV gar nicht aus, und hab mir mal ein paar Videos dazu angesehen. Ich habe einen Kabelanschluss bei Vodafon ohne zusatzprodukte und empfange am Fernsehr die Öffentlichen und dritten Sender in HD, private jedoch nicht. Wenn ich jetzt sowas wie einen Hauppage (wobei ich den Unterschied zu M3U oder anderen Geräten nicht kenne) beschaffe und meinen Kabelanschluss daran anschließe, funktioniert das LiveTV über Emby? Ich habe gelesen, dass in Deutschland ein anderes Format für Private Sender gilt und man die womöglich nicht empfängt. Stimmt das? Könnt ihr mir vielleicht die Fragen beantworten und/oder ein paar gute Guides zum verwenden empfehlen? Liebe Grüße Justus

Minor issue: setting the Home>Live TV>Default Screen has no effect. Works fine in Safari browser on iOS, but strangely not on iOS app. Menu choices are Suggestions/Guide/Channels, but no matter which is selected, what appears is Programs (not one of the choices). Would also think the choices would be Programs/Guide/Channels/Recordings/Schedule/Series like the actual corresponding tabs on that page, similar to the SelectDefaultTab on the Roku app. Only a minor annoyance really, but would be nice to have fixed in some later update. I am unable to scroll down when logged in I go to Live TV and either when I use the keyboard down button or scroll bar on the right it bounces back to the top and does so repetitively no matter if I hold it down. Furthermore I am unable to select the password field in some occasions when attempting to log on. It works fine from another computer but not this one.

Hi, Just bought a VBox DVB-C Tuner (which i will use with emby once it arrived) Just curious how much bandwidth it will take to stream from the vbox to the emby server with a) 1x FHD b) 1x 4k c) (if possible) 4x 4k at the same time. I havent found much about the bitrate from a usual DVB-C connection. Why do i ask this? Because i need to decide if i put the VBox next to my TV in the living room (!!!Where i have only a DLAN connection with about 160 mbit to the Emby Server in the basement!!!) or if the connection is to low, i need to put the VBox in the basement too and wouldnt be able to use it as android tv. Hello, I was having an issue with Live TV where the stream would stop unexpectedly. I tracked the issue down to the drive where the transcoding files are going, filling up. I have noticed that if I am watching through the web app and go back or close the browser, many times the ffmpeg process won't close. I have also noticed that even if I stop the ffmepg process(es), the .TS file still continues to increase (which makes no sense to me). I am using one SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime.

Hello, new user here configuring Emby for the first time. I've selected my HDHR's, set my list of favorite channels, and then added my cable provider. Hej Everybody Finally I fired up my emby server. It has a lot of quirks im trying to work out. I will take them one at a time. IPTV or LIVE TV. Because the IPTV add-on doesn't do what it is suppose to. (It doesn't accept m3u files) WHAT did i do... 1: Added the m3u link in LIVETV in the settings. 2: LIVE tv appears on the home screen. Web interface etc. Fine. Its working. Now the problem is that you have 10K channels and no way to sort them. 3: Brain burst. "Collections". 4: I add the channels i like to one collection. Give each channel a logo. Spending hours on it. Works great. 12-24-36 hours later my "IPTV collection" is gone, all the channels has lost their images. Why ? Is still appears under /var/lib/data/collections. But is not shown in emby. I can add them all again. spend hours and it all happens again gone. "Its not a bug, its a feature." Well im not sure what to say about that. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hello, Recently I've been noticing while playing back live TV from my hdhomerun and hdhomerun prime that while playback is happening it occasionally freezes on a frame and keeps playing audio; it just gets stuck on a frame and resumes playing audio. If I pause/play the frame remains frozen - if I fast forward then hit play it'll sometimes recover where it will pick up just before the frozen frame was encountered, but it seems like the time bar is all wrong with where it's at in the stream.... I've encountered this while watching live TV as well with recorded TV and I do have a captured stream where I can reliably hit the frozen frame issue I'm describing. I've tried the alternative transcoding option that's available while playing the stream, but it still freezes... This is a bit tricky to diagnose since it seems like some bad frames are getting to the Roku and it's causing it to freeze on the bad frame. If I play the same recording on the web client I don't get the issue happening either... I'm hoping there can be a fix for this since it seems to be happening more frequently as time grinds on. If there's something more I can try to provide with this I'll try to help, but as of right now I'm not sure what would be valuable information to provide...

Hi I have a question about the livetv buffer. If I start watching livetv and let say 10 minutes later, I hit the record button. The recording start at the moment the button is pushed and the content of the livetv buffer that can go back 10 minutes ago is not saved in the recording like other dvr do. Is this the expected behavior? Does this feature on your todo list? Thank you

I’d like there to be an option for the tvguide xmltv to be enhanced using tvdb or moviedb data. Also useful would be to tag the scheduled recordings with a tvdb Id so it fetches the correct metadata and matches shows more easily.

Hi Trying out Emby. Coming from Kodi. I have a paid iptv subscription that is working in kodi and vlc but not in Emby. I have Premiere. Running Emby in docker on an unraid server. The channels are listed but no stream is displayed. "Playback Error No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. I have tried numerous of http headers. One thing that looks suspicous in log: "System.Exception: System.Exception: GetVideoEncoder: Unknown codec specified: ''" m3u file looks like this: http://foviptv.link:8080/user/password/12598 Have restarted server and reloaded guide data. Deleted TV Sources and added again. Yesterday it worked for a short while but havent since. Would really like this to works since the software in general looks good and is working fine.

Hi All, I have a strange problem since upgrading to Emby 3.5.x.x. The issue is related with the download of EPG via webgrab++, which I did/do regularly every day. It creates a file `guide.xml` which I then load into Emby's TV Guide Data Providers (Emby > LiveTV > XmlTV). This all works fine, and it worked nicely. However, since the upgrade to Emby 3.5.x.x whenever there is a programme change based on EPG (e.g. programme1 | programme 2 | programme 3 | ...), the playback ends at the end of the EPG playback time (i.e. where the | is), resulting the need from the user for restarting the playback. Pre-emby 3.5.x.x this was not the case, the playback just went on, until it has not been stopped (programme1 >>> programme 2 >>> programme 3 >>> etc). Anybody has similar issues?

Hi I'm watching more livetv these days and emby server become unresponsive maybe once every day or two. It happens only when I watch livetv (chase play), when I'm watching a recording in progress. The client stop with a little message like "stream unavailable" and the server webui is not accessible anymore. To get it back, I need to log on my ubuntu server terminal, stop emby-server service and start it again. From the logs, it looks like ffprobe is throwing errors in a loop. The first Error report is this: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (24): Too many open files I attached a partial logs file. Hello I'm using the app for Roku right now, have not tried my Apple TV yet so this is all relevant to Roku only. The features that are needed are as follows: Favorite a channel in the guide direct tune to a channel if you move too fast through the guide it freezes and you have to back out of the app entirely, there needs to be a 'refresh' More sorting options, sometimes i want to sort by name of program since i know what i'm looking for just don't know the channel, likewise need more sorting options overall Please let me know if i just simply overlooked a feature and posted it above. Hello I use ExpressVPN because for some reason comcast blocks me from watching IPTV. I'm not even sure how to configure this for outside access. I have my vpn setup at the router because if i do it just on that computer it gets blocked. Anyone use this vpn and get this working? Thanks. PS I don't think WOW blocks anything so i might try them out after i get this working.
