  1. Fire TV App: 1.2.66a This has been an issue in previous app versions. Not sure if "miscalculation" is the correct word, but to reproduce the issue click a channel, select Tune to Channel, immediately afterwards, while the loader is visible, press the hamburger button to bring up the split live tv preview/guide view. The live tv preview is then loaded, but shifted approx. 7% to the right of the expected viewing area. Additionally, pressing return to hide the guide does not recalculate the resolution for full screen and remains the same.
  2. Unraid Server: v6.2.1 Emby Server: v3.0.8100.0 Fire TV Box: v5.2.1.1 Fire TV App: v1.2.31a Log sent from Fire TV: 3:21PM EST Client is disconnecting from live tv 2-10 minutes after starting and returns to the guide. Been running this setup for quite awhile with no issues. The last time I was successfully streaming live tv both transcoded and direct playing was on 3.0.64, possibly 3.0.71. I update as often as new updates are released. Once the issue started on the first Fire Tv box I attempted: Clearing cache, clearing all data - no fix Re-installed Fire TV app - no fix Deleted and re-created docker image - no fix I then tested on 2nd Fire Tv box and had same issue and repeated steps above except for re-creating docker image. Live tv (transcoded) in browser - works fine Live tv (transcoded) on iOS app - works fine Remote streaming live tv (transcoded) on iOS app - works fine Local streaming recorded tv on Fire tv - works fine Local streaming tv shows transcoded and direct play (Fire tv, iOS, browser) - works fine Local streaming movies transcoded and direct play (Fire tv, iOS, browser) - works fine Seems to be just with Fire tv when direct playing or transcoding live tv. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. My Emby Server updated, followed by a notice that my Mediaportal plugin was updated (and that the server should be restarted). Now, I can't start any LiveTV. I have used a browser, android and apple apps to test. I reinstalled the plugin to no avail. Interestingly, MPextended doesn't show the plugin ever attempts to connect. Also interesting is the fact that I can enter incorrect settings and the plugin will report it has connected successfully. I have noticed the thread about the removal (temporarily) and I suspect my problems may be related to that occurrence. Any insight will be appreciated.

    Live TV Channel Groups

It would be great to be able to configure channel groups in LiveTV, which can be selected in the guide view (maybe as tabs) so that we can more quickly navigate to preferred channels using the d-pad. Perhaps start with Favorites by default, but be able to add custom groups (similar to collections) which we can add channels to (Network, Premium, Basic Cable, Kids, News etc.).
  5. Hi there, For a while I had issues with Live TV not working first thing in the morning but then starting again later in the day. This went away and it has been very reliable until one or two releases ago when this issue returned. Originally to resolve the issue I stopped using the 64bit build on QNAP and began just using the 32bit one. This seemed to make it stable. I do not use the Emby through the store on QNAP I follow the community thread and download the latest releases as they are delivered, normally within a few days of an actual release announcement. This morning this happened again and I resolved to try and check it out after work. Of course when I did all was fine again and it was working. I accessed the HDHomerun that provides the channels to check it out and found some new channels that I decided to test. This was going okay until one of the new channels disagreed with Emby. All stopped and I had to abort the Win 10 Emby theatre app to get control back. Subsequently however the LiveTV function is not working. The work around is go into EMby and shut it down. Go into QNAP and close it. Restart Emby in Qnap. Just did this (noticed I had 3.0.6400 and 3.0.7100 is now available which it wasn't when I did the last upgrade) Did that and bingo working again. I've now damaged my own experiment by upgrading so I won't press for help but I will ask what are considered to be the best steps I can take to troubleshoot this? Should I snap daily logs or is there something else that would help if this update does not resolve.
  6. Hauppauge WinTV Dual-HD (WinTV8 and latest drivers) NextPVR v3.7.7 Server 3.1.6094.3363 - (recordings were done on previous dev version last night) I am experimenting with recording Live TV The recording is fine via Emby and the resulting .ts files are recorded fine and play well My problem is that they are saved to the directory location i set up in NextPVR rather than in the directory i specified in Emby server under LiveTv>settings The recordings were setup via Emby and the saved files appear in Emby>LiveTV>recordings page as you would expect - so Emby knows they exist Because they are not in the Emby recording directory they are not converted to mp4 So is this as its supposed to work or is there an issue here - i could point NextPVR to the same directory as Emby is expecting the recordings to be recorded to and would probably solve the issue (not tested yet). If thats the case why have the option to specify three different directory/sub directory locations under LiveTv > settings ? Anybody else seeing this? Have i missed the point? Doing it the wrong way? Thanks Tim
  7. Hi, I'm trying to add a Schedules Direct (in fact my existing SD settings stopped working - in that I had no listings, and when I refresh the guide data in the settings screens - nothing happens. So, I deleted the existing SD config and added another and I get this screen: I've looked in the logs, an attached them - the most recent file says that a username is required, however I'm not able to specify it as the screen shows. Is there anyway I can remove any cached SD settings? I'e had a dig around the data directory, but can't see anything. Thanks Guys logs.zip
  8. I use Emby's LiveTV with a CableCard via ServerWMC, and in my guide I have way too many channels (530, most of which I do not watch). Marking some as favorites to move to the top of the guide listing helps, but what I'd really like to do is have another tab on the LiveTV page that starts the guide listing with my HD channels at channel number 650 (the channel index is 322). I have been hacking around on the live server code in guide.js and have been able to change the StartIndex to 322 and occasionally see the results I want (when I run Emby in a new private window and thus don't have a caching problem). I reported on my results in the following thread, but I am now thinking I'd like to see this functionality become real. I envision a new HD guide tab on the LiveTV.html page, and some admin code for the user to turn the HD guide tab on and enter their first HD channel number (or wherever they want their customized listing to begin). But first, can I even accomplish a new tab on that page via a plugin? Or do I need to focus on contributions to the main? I'm no c-sharp wiz--I just compiled Emby for the first time today. A nudge in the right direction would be helpful. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/36070-feature-request-allow-users-to-change-startindex-for-guide-to-first-hd-channel/?hl=guide

    LiveTV buttons option to hide

Version 3.0.5972.0 Browser Firefox 46.0 I do not have LiveTV. I do not have a TV tuner and I do not want to buy one. I should not have to look at and manage buttons I have no use for. Please add options to hide the LiveTV and Recordings buttons on the Home and Folders pages. Thanks
  11. A few days ago I noticed that I didn't have any guide data and recordings weren't happening. I clicked on LiveTV -> Schedules Direct and get the following error in a pop-up right away: I clicked "Got it" and the only information filled in was my username. I put in my password and got the same Alert error. I verified that the username and password are correct by logging in with the same credentials into Schedules Direct. LiveTV and guide data with Schedules Direct has been working for many months without any issues. I haven't changed any configuration with LiveTV (or even Emby, for that matter) with the exception of updating the emby-server package when a new version is available. 12. Hello. New forum member and new Emby user, here. I recently switched over to Emby from Plex for various reasons, one of them being that I was looking for a Windows Media Center replacement for DVR functionality. As such, my expectations/impressions are based on my previous experience with MCE, so factor that in to the opinions below. I realize Live/Recorded TV is a relatively new feature in Emby and still being polished, so I thought I'd add my 2 cents on some things I noticed. I did not know exactly where to put this feedback in the forums. I saw other Live/Recorded TV posts here so I figured this would work. Also, all of these feedback items are based on using the web interface via Chrome. No apps or anything like that (mostly only use the apps for playback, but will eventually set up recordings that way, too). I am using Server Version 3.0.5971.0 1) When setting up recording I manually specified the "Default Recording Path" because I was using the server interface remotely. I typed in the name of a non-existent directory hoping it would create the directory for me, but it didn't. In fact, recording did not work at all, and there was no indication of failure within the UI. Might be worth putting some kind of "directory must already exist" note there (probably assumed by most, but there's always a bigger "fool" to break the "fool-proof system"). 2) For the series recordings, I did not interpret the "Record at Any Time" flag correctly. I had unchecked all the Sunday-Saturday checkboxes and then in the "Repeating Options" section clicked the "Record at Any Time". I had figured the "any time" wording meant it would over-ride the days, but it did not seem to because no scheduled recordings showed up in the recordings list. Then again, I didn't have the recording folder set up correctly at the time (see #1), so that would definitely have prevented recording. 3) Also for series recordings -- my wife likes to have the last 10 recordings of Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert available to watch, but we don't want to keep them all. If unwatched recordings need to be deleted automatically to limit the recordings to 10, that's fine. Windows Media Center has this capability for series recordings. It would be a nice feature to have as part of the series settings. 4) In my area there are multiple over-the-air PBS stations nearby that often carry the same content. I set up a series recording for "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" and clicked the "Record on all channels" checkbox and noticed that the "Recordings" section showed scheduled recordings for the same episode on the 2 different PBS stations. I don't really need 2 recordings of the same episode, but maybe recording of the second episode would have been skipped after the first was recorded? Or maybe that kind of functionality only works for the "Record only new episodes" feature. 5) In the web interface I found that I often had to refresh the page to view changes I had made. For instance, when scheduling a recording, after saving it, I would go to the "Recordings" tab and not see the newly scheduled recordings. Refreshing the page would make them show up. 6) Windows MCE has/had a nice keyword-based recording scheduling ability for those times when you want to subscribe to a series but it is not currently being broadcast (thus there are no references to it in the current guide data). Would be a nice feature to have. Or even better -- perhaps a way to search TheTVDB.com and/or TheMovieDB or other data source to be able to set up a potential future broadcast (e.g. if I wanted to record "The Revenant" the first time it's ever broadcast on TV I could just set up a recording for it by name and then it would automatically get recorded the first time it's broadcast). This would also be useful for setting up a future recording for a specific episode that was somehow missed by the "Only new episodes" subscription. 7) For me, the guide entries are not properly displaying the Season and Episode information. I'm only seeing an "E" for Episode number. Screenshot attached. Hope this helps! Edit - revised #7 - it is showing Season and Episode correctly on recordings, but not in the guide view.
  13. Hello Everyone, My Objective: I want to experience LiveTV using m3u playlist. I found a .ts address and created a playlist with single channel as below. #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,MUTE_TV http://www.q7t1.com:...bk9/bk9/4179.ts My Experience: I successfully added the m3u playlist, channel shows up and when i play it, it plays and stops after 19 seconds. If i play it again same thing happens, it plays for another 19 seconds and then stops. I am not sure what is going on. I am new to Emby and LiveTV, not a techy guy. I am very grateful for these features in emby. Emby server info: I just updated my emby server to Version 3.0.5931.0 (emby premiere). It was not working in the previous version either. Log Files: I cleared all the log files, played liveTV and logs are attached. Thank you for your help. server-63596799109.txt transcode-fbd13d84-b60e-4be5-8351-fa6e268e21d5.txt

    Encrypted Live TV Cable Options

Just wondering what the best option is when dealing with encrypted LiveTV cable? Been running WMC since the XP era for LiveTV and Kodi for the media library. For the past few months been exploring options and Emby seems like a great one source solution that is wife friendly. Would it be better to use Emby for WMC, pull media from server, and continue to run Live TV though WMC since I have encrypted Live TV? Or should I consider another option using ServerWMC as I understand the Emby Server along can’t decrypt encrypted LiveTV cable? Any incite would be great. Thanks.
  16. Hi Guys, First I've got to say that I love the new Emby Theatre, however there's a single showstopper for me. LiveTV does not appear to run for me. It runs with no issues via Emby WMC (Windows 8), the Emby local web browser, and the iOS app, but in Emby Theatre when I try to run a channel the loading circle simply sits there rotating. I can leave it there for 30 minutes and it keeps doing the same thing. I have Emby Server running with ServerWMC, and have 6 BDA tuners in total connected. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks! Luke
  17. I was just wondering if it will ever be possible to have live TV supported with full dvr control and an nice EPG supported from within the Emby Samsung TV application. Although I love the new look and feel of Emby Theatre for Windows 10, I just don't see the need to have individual HTPC boxes in the rooms when I can just run one very powerful server and just plug my TV's into the network. Currently running windows 10 enterprise, ported a version of WMC into it and have the Ceton Infinitv 6 for cable card use. What are your thoughts?

    LiveTV playback Firefox

Hi, Running latest Emby stable on two different servers, one running CentOS 7 (64-bit) with Mono 4.2.1 and the other running Windows 8.1 (64bit) I found that LiveTV playback using the webclient on Firefox 43.0.4 on Linux works against the server running on Windows but doesn't work against the server running on Linux. The exact problem is that in FF the player is loading but the screen is black, no video. On the other hand when streaming from the Windows server, playback works fine. I will attach both servers logs to the thread later. If there is any other details you want me to cover just let me know. Thanks.
  19. I have been an EMBY user with WMC for many years.... I am now evaluating EMBY Theater LiveTV using tge WMCServer plugin. when i connect using the connect interface. I see my channels and recordings. However when I connect using the Theater interface and select LiveTV, I see the channel and recording elements, but no channels or recordings are listed. Any suggestions?

    API for fanArt with LiveTV

Is there an API to use that allows fanArt from Schedules Direct to be used in LiveTV sections, in similar way to what library items have? Like in this pic https://flic.kr/p/C1dDBg
  21. Any way to get this implemented into the next version? Ordered in number of importance. 1. A button on the remote that would have a "Flashback" feature to flip between two different channels. 2. Be able to use the D-Pad to tune into a channel number directly, rather than paging through the guide. 3. A mini guide, similar to Windows Media Center while watching Live TV. Thanks for all your hard work!
  22. Just installed Version 3.0.5781.1 on my windows 7 x64 server. I have an hdhomerun extend. The setup picked that up. I installed the emby xbox plugin as well. I setup two test media directories tv-test-- contains two folders for two series, one in avi form one in wtv form movies-test ---contains one dvd rip in ts folder form When i opened my xbox360-- i see the emby icon, open it , login as the only user i have. I see the TV and Movies . But I do not see any live tv. Should live tv /guide/epg work on xbox360? fyi, I am a kickstarter supporter for hdhomerun dvr and have a seperate pc running their dvr app. A raspberry pi running kodi with the view client. That works but of course we know no pretty epg yet. I was just thinking maybe i am missing out on emby.
  23. Hi, I have Emby server installed on Windows 7 machine and recently I bought HDHomeRun model HDHR4-2DT. I've set it up with default settings and scanned for channels (Croatia is the location). Tried local LAN streaming through HDHomeRun View application and VLC and everything is working as expected, including automatic switching of picture ratio (16:9 -> 4:3 and back when streaming content changes). Then I've set Emby server to use newly found tuner (that part actually went pretty much automated). But when I try to look at the guide I get no info about the program and when I stream livetv picture is always shown in 4:3 ratio when viewing in the web browser. On the android on the other hand everything is looking OK but guide data is also missing. I'm attaching logs: freshly restarted server, first streaming livetv to a web browser (google chrome, tried before with firefox, also), wrong aspect ratio (should be 16:9 but it displays as 4:3); then streaming to android application - everything looking as it should be. Guide data for channels from hdhomerun device not showing in both cases (I have Mediaportal plugin still working, the same channels on MPTV Server are showing guide data as they should - using DVB grabbing for EPG). logs.zip

    Problem playing LiveTV stream

Hi, I have a problem playing livetv content on Android application. I get the following message: Playback error. There was an error processing the request. Please try again. Playing of livetv from my emby server works just fine when I use Chrome browser in Windows or in Linux. I've attached log from the Android client app and the server logs. c0431e09-3040-43f6-a5e1-4005687815a71.log server_logs.zip
  25. I have two issues that I'm unsure where to start with. First, when viewing the TV Guide on my Nexus Player, the left side of the guide (the part that displays the Station Name and Channel Number) is significantly cut-off. It almost appears that I'm seeing cutoff on left, right, and below the guide, but it's most noticeable on the left side. I've attached a picture I took to help demonstrate what I'm seeing. I encounter this in both the standard TV guide and the new Live TV Guide that is still in beta testing. I haven't run into this anywhere else within the App. Is there a setting to adjust the guide dimensions somewhere that could potentially be causing this? I've encountered this from the first day I tried Emby so I don't believe it to be an issue strictly in the beta path so I've posted it here. The second issue I'm having is that there are times when it appears that Emby isn't attempting to stream fast enough from my HDHomerun. I encounter significant image breakup and audio dropouts which would seem to indicate that perhaps it was a maxed out CPU, but if I look at my CPU usage it's below 10% for FFMPEG, which in and of itself isn't correct. Normally viewing HD programs I'll see usage up near 50% depending on current motion. I look at the HDHomerun's tuner status and the output bitrate is significantly lower than it should be for the program I'm viewing (HD shouldn't be below 2 Mbps in Heavy Mode even in h.264 unless it's a static image and it's most certainly not when I'm looking at this) I don't know which log you'd need for this issue (transcode or server) so let me know which you need and I'll supply whichever. I've encountered this issue on many versions of server both Dev and Release which is why I'm posting it outside of the Testing forum. My current versions of everything is below for reference. Thanks. Windows 10 Emby Server - 3.0.5772.319 Nexus Player Android 6.0 Emby Android TV - 1.1.15.g
