  1. Hi Team, Can I have a live tv account without setting up own emby server. I did register with emby but not received any emails and am not sure how to proceed. Thank you!
  2. Hi Emby Team, This request is for adding an additional header option in the 'TV Source Setup' page when setting up an M3U Tuner. Right now the choice is only 'User agent' however I have a need to set a custom HTTP referer with one of my sources. I'd be OK with a referer input box however it might be better to have multiple key / value input boxes to allow any header and its override value (including user-agent). For reference, VLC uses a customer #EXTVLCOPT tag in the M3U to provide this functionality. ffmpeg has a "-headers" option, KODI uses 'key=val' piped at the end or the URL, and Plex has support in their IPTV.Bundle plugin. Thanks for consideration. -M

    Refresh TV Guide via API?

Hi, Sorry if this has been covered but I can't find anything in the swagger UI or on my check through the forum. Is it possible to trigger the Refresh Guide task via API?
  4. @@ebr I've had emby premiere now for 6 months running on Xpenology. Specs are latest dsm, haswell xeon e3-1225 v3 16gb ddr3 supermicro x10sll-f Hdhomerun feeds ota tv and using The Players Klub for IPTV so i've got 2 tv souces for live tv. 99% of the time we watch Emby on Shield TV latest FW Using Emby Android TV App. Problem: OTA channels are loading much slower than they used to, recordings are intermittent(whether they record or not) and it just seems a bit sluggish. I also notice when watching ota TV that during a show, the sound will cut out for 5 seconds quite often which is really annoying. Things I've tried: Getting better OTA signal to the HDHomerun by getting great new antenna, and having it professionally mounted with stronger signal now. Should i try using the emby app for my LG Oled or try just sideload the Android Emby app to Shield(vs android tv app) ? Or should i get better hardware for my Xpenology, something recent with DDR4 and Latest Intel? Or is there a cache i should clean somewhere?
  5. I record Jeopardy daily because I usually get home just as it's ending or after. I don't mind it being spoiled so I'll sometimes watch the end live (last ~10 min). When I go to watch the whole episode after the recording ends, sometimes the recording is only 4-5 minutes and then I can't watch the beginning. Usually if this happens, I'll get an error about the amount of streams, which I don't understand. Is watching while recording a no-no and I should practice more discipline? Or is this fixable?

    FF Skip on Live TV

New to Premiere. ET has a very nice UI and the FF Skip/REV Skip is lightning fast for TV recordings, and other files. By far the best, of the media server systems, I've tested. I noticed, however, in Windows Emby Theater, when watching live TV, the picture will freeze if FF skip is pressed (+30 sec) when the live feed is less than the 30 seconds. If the live feed is less than the FF skip duration, it should go to live without freezing picture.
  7. Hey, I'm trying to load my M3U & EPG in Emby Premiere. When I go to Live TV, I can't see anything. W/EPG, the loading display never completes. The playlist works in VLC/Kodi.embyserver.txt
  8. I have an hdhomerun quad and an IPTV subscription that i've connected to emby. The iptv provider has over 4000 channels, obviously i wouldn't want all of those included. I seem to be missing where you filter out groups of channels, like i don't want any of the Spanish channels, how do i tell it not to import those from the m3u url? Is there a channel limit for emby live tv? sometimes when i open up the guide it loads perfectly fine.. and fast.. other times it just sits there. i check the server and its not overloaded or anything. Thanks a lot EDIT: Also, it doesn't appear that all the channels show up in the guide when it does load up fine.. seems to load about a 1000 of them give or take.
  9. I'm running an Emby server on a Shield TV Pro with Emby Premium. I'm trying to setup a recording of a series ("Bull") but am running into difficulties. I had it scheduled and wanted to make a change but now I just get a looping circle and can't change or delete the program. It's a little hard to see in the screenshot. Emby version is Version 4.0.2.0. My impression is some sort of database corruption but not sure how I can tell or troubleshoot.

    Remove Channels

How do I remove channels that are no longer available after moving from 1 zipcode to another
  11. LG Smart TV: Emby Theater 1.0.9 Windows 10: Emby Server Version 4.0.3.0 As reported here, Emby LG Smart TV app fails when viewing Live TV and attempting rewind or FF controls. Unfortunately, this degrades the Emby Live TV to only supporting pause/resume. In Live TV mode, the Emby app really has no advantage over the native LG Live TV. Please fix the playback controls for these expensive and beautiful LG OLED TVs. Many Thanks!
  12. Just trying to verify something here. It is my understanding that Live TV, while being recorded, is recorded to the Transcoding Cache Folder and is later moved to the Recorded TV Library folder. This would imply that I could create a Ramdisk and identify it as the location for the transcoding cache, which has the potential to provide 2 benefits. First, and most important to me, it would reduce the write activity on my expensive m.2 NVME drive, which has a finite number of writes. Second, DDR4 RAM is quicker than even Gen3 X4 NVME storage, so I may perceive a performance improvement as well. I have adequate unused RAM so I don't see creating any new system bottlenecks. Now for my questions: 1. Am I correct about the way the LiveTV recording cache works? 2. If so, is the recording file only moved to the recording folder at the end of the recording process or is it written to that folder at some interval during the recording process? 3. Am I missing anything in my reasoning? Thanks
  13. Hi Feel free to mark as duplicate if you think this is too closely related to the other threads on pooling channels. My suggestion for doing has different ultimate goals to the other ones I've found: - Suggestion to pool duplicate iPTV or DVB, DVC, DVT sources so they only show up as a single channel - Each "single" channel could have multiple sources siting in behind - Channel service/sources can be set in preference/priority - When you tune/play the channel you want if it hangs or buffers then tuner automatically failbacks to the next source/service until it finds a stable one to play Most iPTV providers are providing multiple back ups in case a channel goes down or buffers. This suggestion allows us to use the back ups without having to manually edit the XML File. TV Headend has this type of feature built in already so it can be done
  14. Hi there. I've been away for a long time since I gave up on Media Center. I've had Dish for the past few years. The Hopper 3 is a fantastic DVR but the price plus Comcast internet is no longer worth it. I'm thinking of going with Comcast for TV but the X1 DVR has a fraction of the recording space and they don't allow external storage. I was thinking using the Silicondust HDHomerun Prime 6 and Emby. I'm wondering how others like using this setup as their full time DVR. Are there any limitations? I mostly would like it to be reliable for the family. Watching live TV and shows on the road would be a plus. Thank you. *Edit Silicondust has the Prime 6 listed under products, but I don't actually see any for sale anywhere.
  15. Hello Before the update the recording of episodes of live TV by IPTV is working very well, perfect. But after this last big update something happened. The red circle appears, which means it should be recording, but nothing happens. What could be wrong?
  16. Hey, I'm trying to convert to Emby Live TV (away from my rip off cable provider) but I'm having an issue with recording. When I record a program and come back hours later to watch it, sometimes it has only recorded 2,3,10,15, etc, minutes of the show. I have made sure to try it without recording or watching anything else as I think my IPTV provider only supplies one connection. Also, sometimes I am watching a channel and Emby randomly drops out and returns back to the TV guide. I don't know if this is an error on the provider's end, a bug with the app on my Android TV, or a transcoding/server error. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  17. Title says it all. On some channels icons are missing. On others the icons on there. When I first set up Emby on Jan 29 all of the icons were there. Anyone know how to fix it? To rule out mobile client issues (even though I noticed it on iOS), I opened up a Chrome browser and the issue is still there. I am using Emby's built-in guide (since I didn't want to pay for a guide and emby provides it so I figured it would be the "most supported" option) These channels are at the top of the guide (there are more with no icons but this is just a subset). And here are some with icons. I can't imagine the guide doesn't recognize the channels with no icons. Like I said they were working on Jan 29 when I purchased Emby Premiere. Anyone know what's going on?

    Video/Audio Recording not in sync

I have v 4.0.0.2 installed and when I record live tv the video/audio are not in sync. I don't have this problem with Plex. What can I do with Emby to correct this problem
  19. In Emby I have multiple local users set up. I've already set up tv and movie libraries per user. I came over from Plex and like that Emby allows each user the ability to record. However I am not seeing any options for choosing the recording folder for each user. How can I do this? My server is on Windows 10 Pro but the clients in use are Rokus, Fire TV, iOS and android mobile devices.

Playing TV from an "m3u source"

Hi I'm trying to setup live TV in Emby with an M3U file as "source". Is that only possible with an Emby Premiere Sucscription? I have read the wiki and added the file as a TV source : But trying to play something via the Live TV plugin it prompts med for Emby Premiere? So can this be achived using the free version?
  22. I was listening to music, which was only allowing me to skip forward 2 tracks on the same album till it would error (spinning wheel). Then I tried too switch to a live TV channel, that show SWAT, CBS I think and it never loaded. Just sat there with a spinning wheel. The suddenly a song started playing. I still can't get a channel to load. Funny seeing that it always direct streams to Emby theater on my PC. Logs attached. ffmpeg-directstream-fd9cea43-eb37-4e91-8c18-f084e1da02cd_1.txt embyserver.txt
  23. I am running my MB server on a used PC. It's an AMD apu. I use an external Seagate hdd, Emby is on 1 ssd with paths to cache, metadata and transcoding on another. I mostly use a Roku premiere, Nvidia shield and my main PC as clients. As the title suggests my problem is with very long load times for channel changing, specifically with the Shield and Roku, the PC is fine. The Shield is the worst with load times easily between 10-15 seconds and sometimes reaching 17-20 seconds and bringing up a prompt asking about playback error. I choose Emby because live Tv seemed to actually work, as opposed to Plex which didn't. That leads me to believe it might be my set up. Is it my drives? My cpu? (AMD A10 7850k) My internet is fiber 500mbs download, 100 up. I've attached what I believe is a pertinent log. Thanks.
  24. I reinstalled Emby on my WD PR2100 with the latest beta version (3.6.0.84) after trying to find the Emby Guide data for live tv. Prior to installing the beta version, I still could not get any channel to play. I am using an HDHomeRun tuner with the premium tv package. I also have an m3u tuner. I set up the guide providers and refreshed the guide data. I am still now able to view any channel. All I get is the endless spinning wheel. One other fact that may be important is I just added a second router behind a Uverse router. All my devices are now connected to the second router and everything seems to be working fine. Plex also runs on the PR2100 and it has no problem playing live tv. I have attached the full server log. I cannot figure out why Emby refuses to play live tv. embyserverlog.txt

    TV guide overlay?

I found a bug in the LG TV app with Live TV, but it got me thinking. I used the SIPTV app before, and they have a feature where you can watch TV guide/switch channels when playing the current channel, like it happened in this bug. Maybe it would be possible to map such an overlay feature to one of the color buttons (red, green etc.) on the remote? It will need some work to make the overlay text look better/clearer but it wasn't too hard to read already. Not sure If it's difficult to reproduce this bug, but it happened when viewing TV guide, I clicked on the current program in one channel then quickly clicked back on the remote. And also, will the primary screen when opening Live TV via the my media section up top work the same as Webapp/Android, I'd like to click on that directly to open TV guide.
