  1. Had to rebuild my server (got tired of Win7 VM on unRaid), and now have a dedicated box. First run of the Chapter image extraction task shows it ran for more than 10 hours. It has a limit of 4 hours. Is there a known bug where the limit isn't respected? I will post logs if it will help, but since a lot of activities have occurred the past 24 hours I know it will be massive. Any advice on what to look for in the log to help troubleshoot myself? I don't mind learning. I have attached images to help. Version 3.0.7200.0
  2. Hi I have a well organized photo collection where I maintain different albums; my problem is: Emby will generate a cover photo (primary and thumbnail images) for each album when it scans it first; later; I choose a particular image to be the album's primary image, and I set it manually as primary and thumbnail images. but after few days, I found that emby will regenerate a new cover image (most probably it's the same that was generated the first time); now my concerns are: I renamed the primary images as folder.jpg and tried also backdrop.jpg; why emby doesn't pick these by default, like it does in media collection (movies and TV shows) I locked further updates from metadata editor; which by default locks the updates for images; but still primary and thumbnail images are changed. Is there any basis or criteria based on which emby will generate the cover image? and if not is it possible to consider folder.jpg or backdrop.jpg as default primary and thumbnail images? Regards, DaN

    Resize Images

Why? I had noticed that my Images for People, had grown to over 22gigs...and thought that was a bit excessive, so I wrote this script & after running it those images came in under 3gigs, and as a result I'm a happy camper now. Notes: The Folders this script is to run against must be on ether a local or network mapped drive, as the script isn't setup to handle UNC paths. This script doesn't scale up images...only scales down. Requirements: AutoIt FFMpeg Instructions: Install AutoIt and set it to execute scripts when double clicked. Create a folder somewhere...lets call it "Resize Images" just to be unimaginative. Now inside "Resize Images" create a sub folder called "Bin". Now extract the contents of FFMpeg's "Bin" folder into your new "Bin" sub folder. Now going back into "Resize Images" folder Right Click on it's background and select "New\AutoIt v3 Script" from the context menu, and Rename it "Resize Images.au3" Now Right Click "Resize Images.au3" & select "Edit Script" from the context menu. Now paste the following code into: Now you'll have to edit some User Vars to make use of this script on your system. Now in my example use of People images...older versions of Emby used "folder.jpg" however newer ones are making use of "poster.jpg" so you may need to run it twice with different naming. Next you'll have to give the script the path to the images you wish to resize, then the max Width & Height for the images. Finally the path to FFMpeg...normally I'd have this set automatically to the Bin folder holding the script...but I'm getting a lot of scripts depending on FFMpeg...so I'm allowing you to set the path...so you really only have 1 copy on your system...or at least 1 less do to this script allowing you to set it to a different location. Now save the script & execute it by double clicking it. Now go do something else, this will take a while. The script will notify you when it's done.
  4. I have 1) Front Cover and 2) Artist images embedded in ALL of my Music media (i.e., FLAC, mp3, mp4, m4a, wv, ape). In some cases, I have 3) Back Cover 4) Disc and 5) Icon images embedded also. I have "Image Extractor" set as primary Image fetcher for the album image. I have "FanArt" set as primary Image fetcher for the artist image. There is no option for "Image Extractor". **** Question I am confused here as it appears that the artist image is retrieved from "...\IBN\People..." or the "...\Artist Name\folder.*" file. Please clarify how this is intended to work. (Not sure which is the display source since in my case the images are identical) Is it the case that the local image("...\Artist Name\folder.*") takes priority if it is present? **** I have "Image Extractor" set as the primary Image fetcher for the song image. **** Issue However, the image displayed for the song varies sporadically between "Front cover", "Back Cover", "Artist" and "Disc". I have confirmed that in every case BOTH the "Front cover" and the "Artist" images are embedded in the file. Which image is intended to be displayed for a "Song" when one or both images are embedded and "Image Extractor" is the preferred method" **** Examples of sporadic song images (Front cover, Disc, Back Cover):
  5. Okay so some of you might be aware or might not be aware of the fact that now when a movie collection is created a primary image and a thumb image is no longer auto-generated previewing all the titles in the collection. My request is simple add this back in but as an option under the "edit images" section of collections. Can simply be a button that once clicked auto generates a thumbnail and primary image of which you can then delete or keep. This way if you don't need/want the custom image made for that collection because you have a better image of your own you can use that image(s) instead.
  6. In the web view, there is some excellent primary images for TV, Movies & Music https://www.dropbox.com/s/makiddzproqf0gf/Screenshot%202015-09-22%2005.28.14.png?dl=0 Would it be possible to have this for other views (in my case - Collections, Music Videos, Concerts & Festivals, etc)
  7. When logging into Emby (I use Openmediavault) i cannot change a tv series primary image. Help? What additional info do you need?
  8. I am unable to set / see, a custom "MUSIC" EHS image from the web UI in Windows 7 with the release server Version 3.0.5597.1 It works for Movies, TV, .. but not Music. Something is up with it. EDIT: After restarting the server.. and trying again and again, it did work eventually. Not sure what the problem with that was as the server has been restarted since I added in the music paths etc.

MBC & MBT - Cache Sync

I would like an app, that could be used with Windows Scheduler to connect to MBS, and sync the image cache...prune unneeded images and add missing ones. It would also be nice if MBC & MBT would in the background perform a low priorty sync as well, when running. Not just fetch images when requested like now. Hell it would be nice to have an option during setup to perform a full cache sync, right from the get go. Course having restrictions on what gets synced would be nice, in cases of where a client will only be viewing movies, but not tv shows...not that this is likely to be common. Having a small foot print is good...but not having to wait on a fetch is also good.
  11. Did a quick search and didn't find anything. So I recently installed 3.0.5518.0 Beta of windows mediabrowser server and I'm finding a weird bug in the "Metadata Manager". When I go in to change the primary image of a collection for an auto boxsets plugin created collection, the primary image always reverts back to the primary image of the first asset in the collection. This doesn't matter if I go to the image flag, browse for the image using the "browse image" button and download from an online source, or click on the cloud button under the primary image. After I restart the server, the primary image always reverts. Art, banner and logo images don't seem to be affected. I always hit save after in the metadata tab of the collection. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug in the beta? Anyone else seeing this? To reproduce the issue: - Goto Metadata manager - Click on a collection under collections - Click the images tab - Click the cloud button under the primary image poster - Click download on a poster from an external source such as theMovieDb - Click the metadata button and hit save - Goto settings and restart the mediabrowser server or just use mediabrowser for awhile / re-log in - Click on the collection again and watch the primary poster art revert to the primary image of the first asset in the collection Also does mediabrowser use an external bug tracker like JIRA or something that we can do a search in? Just a noob question that I haven't really found an answer for atm. I'll post some logs shortly when I get home. I don't have the cover art plugin installed but I do have auto box-sets plugin installed. TIA
  12. In library manager it's possible to download images for a given item from either - data found by scrappers online, or - local folders In addition, it would be nice if we could just copy/past an url to an image file. Thanks for your awesome work.
  13. Hello everybody, I thought it would be nice to provide a ready 'import-n-play' image that would be added to the server downloads for those who loves Linux but still want to stay on their Windows Desktop, so I've installed Media Browser for Ubuntu on Oracle VM open source VirtualBox, most of customization are setup already but you are still able to amend yours to meet your personal needs, like subtitle desired language to download, enable/disable cinema mood and setup local/internet trailers: The setup is as follows: Ubuntu Login: Username: master Password: mediabrowser Network settings: IP address: 192.168.1.195 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 HDD capacity is: 1.00 TB dynamically allocated storage, so make sure to place the VDI file in a partition with enough space for automatic expansion. You can amend your settings by modifying the file: /etc/network/interfaces Folders Hierarchy: -------- home ----- master ----- mediabrowser_files (that contains all metadata, cache, transcoding, and custom intros files arranged in folders by a descriptive name) ---- cache ---- custom_intros ---- downloads_monitor ---- metadata ---- studio_images ---- transcoding_temp ----- mediabrowser_data (that contains the actual media files, movies, TV Shows, etc arranged in folders by a descriptive name) ---- home.videos ---- kids.movies ---- movies ---- music ---- music.videos ---- photos ---- tv.shows point your browser to: http://192.168.1.195:8096/mediabrowser and enjoy your streaming. Download Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fxvw8amhh89on58/Media%20Browser.zip?dl=0 regards, Basem
  14. Hi again. I have many 3D Blu-Ray titles which I've ripped to my NAS as ISO files. I watch these 3D Movies using TMT5 and NVidia 3DTVPlay software and have been doing so for a while now. Alcohol 52% is the ISO mount software I use, and it works a treat. What I haven't been able to do so far is to work out how I set Media Browser to work with these ISO files so I don't have to load this manually (ie, the way I do now). Here is what I do to watch a Blu-Ray 3D ISO today: 1. Start Alcohol 52% and mount the ISO image 2. Start Total Media Theatre 5 and hit play I do these steps from the Windows desktop interface and would like Media Browser to handle this as it does with the other movies. I'm sure there is a simple answer out there, but I haven't found it yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

    Actors Images and Info

Hey, I don't know if this is a setting or something that's bugged or simply just because of the image dimensions it has pulled from the net, but I have come across this once, and haven't seen it elsewhere yet, but... For one actor in particular, the image for him is stretched and it makes the rest of the display look uneven and more or less ugly. Here's a screenshot of what is happening and wondering if their is a option or solution to this?
