Selecting play from guide causes loading animation that eventually times out
FordGT90Concept posted a topic in Windows & Xbox
Steps to reproduce: Start Emby Theater Click on Live TV Click on... Program under "Now Playing" and it works fine. Guide -> the title of the program that is on now -> Play and it shows loading animation but doesn't playback the program. Server log attached. I tried the latter at about 3:37 and 3:40, maybe 3:42 too. Then I tried the Former two times after that. Every subsequent test was the latter. server-63615369600.txt -
1. Prompt to load more guide data at midnight of each day: Instead of doing 9 hours from right now, always load from now to midnight then ask to load the next 24 hours. Reason? If you're checking what's on this evening ("prime time") before noon, you're in for a world of annoyance hitting the "load next 9 hours" prompt which is around 7-9pm. After midnight, most networks go to repeats or dead air. 2. Lock the cursor to whatever time the user selected before moving down/up: Went to 7 pm to see what was on during "prime time" but as you click down the list, it could select a football game or movie that runs many hours that ends at, say, 7:30. This moved the cursor back to when the game/movie started which could be, say 4 pm. Keep scrolling down and you could literally travel back in time 7-9 hours to real time (was about 1 pm if memory serves) because the cursor doesn't look to the time you were looking at (7 pm). 3. Display the program info if the program info is off screen to the left: An extension of #2, when there is something long in the guide, it should display the info that is off screen (to the left) to the screen (to the right) so you can see that it is the tail end of, for example, a football game without having to look at the guide information for it.

Is it possible, or will it be added, to have the ability to sync the channel groups in Emby with the channel groups i already have setup in nextPVR?

Just got the 3.0.8100 update. Noted that the order of the guide channels is now out of order. Instead of starting at 2.1 I have 8 channels (random?) at the beginning starting with 640. Same issue in the Channels tab. Is this a bug? Is there a new way of reordering channels I am unaware of? Screenshots attached Thanks for reading and any help you can provide! Sorting channels works but it doesn't sort subchannels as well
FordGT90Concept posted a topic in General/Windows
In the attached picture, you can see 4, 9, 14, 27, and 44 are correctly sorted but 9.4, 9.2, 9.1, and 9.3 are out of order. I've seen them out of order in Emby Home Theater and in the web UI.- 1 reply

We were able to identify 3 out of 4 agriculture/business/news programs that always say "repeat" so any series set up to record them never will even though they're new daily or weekly. I'm not entirely sure what makes that distinction but, here's the programs and their genre: AgDay Newsmagazine This Week in AgriBusiness Bus./financial / Agriculture Agweek TV Public affairs As far as I know, these episodes are always new. They're like local news broadcasts...but specialized.

Note the bottom, the program info on both pictures (both are in Desktop mode)... Old Emby Theater install ("good"): New Emby Theater install ("bad"): Not only is the latter hard to read the program info, it even covers up the last channels in the list so it's hard to see the guide on them.

For several days I have been seeing some odd behavior with the guide data. In the web UI, in Live TV when I select a channel from the "Channels" tab (or link at the top) to look for a movie or program to record the guide info is not matching (totally incorrect - not even close) what I am seeing in WMC or what I am seeing when I select the "Guide" tab (or link at the top) and then choose the date I want to look at from the drop-down menu and then use arrows to find the correct channel and time (this method will give the correct info and is how I am currently working around the problem). It seems to be consistent across all channels In that the "Channels" tab in Live TV gives incorrect data and selecting "Guide" then date and using arrow keys provides correct data. Also am noting that the number of days of guide data listed for each channel (when using the Live TV "Channels" tab is also in consistent some are 6 days, some 8 days etc (all of it incorrect) but none are listing 14 days using this method even though the correct data is available. On the plus side it appears as though everything series wise I have added as well as those movies I choose to record are appearing in the schedule and recordings are taking place - so that part is working and I am LOVE LOVE LOVING it!. I am not sure if attaching the logs will be of any use to you but I have done so. If there is any other info I can provide I am happy to do so. This is Version 3.0.7100.0. Using Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 m(can't seem to get it to work with Firefox) on Windows 7 Pro SP1+ x64. I am not certain how long this has been happening, for at least several days that I am aware of. Is there a way to get more than 9 hours of guide info?
FordGT90Concept posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I would like it to be able to go out the full 14 days everything else can go out to. -
1) When you change the day in the guide, it jumps back to midnight instead of trying to stay at the same hour you were looking at for the previous day. For example, if I was looking at 7pm on Monday and click on Tuesday, instead of staying at 7pm, it jumps back to Tuesday at midnight. 2) After deleting a recording, it jumps back to the very top menu instead of back one. Back one, in my case, would be going back to "Recordings." Related bug: I was able to click the back arrow to get back to the recording that was deleted. That shouldn't be possible.

I use Emby's LiveTV with a CableCard via ServerWMC, and in my guide I have way too many channels (530, most of which I do not watch). Marking some as favorites to move to the top of the guide listing helps, but what I'd really like to do is have another tab on the LiveTV page that starts the guide listing with my HD channels at channel number 650 (the channel index is 322). I have been hacking around on the live server code in guide.js and have been able to change the StartIndex to 322 and occasionally see the results I want (when I run Emby in a new private window and thus don't have a caching problem). I reported on my results in the following thread, but I am now thinking I'd like to see this functionality become real. I envision a new HD guide tab on the LiveTV.html page, and some admin code for the user to turn the HD guide tab on and enter their first HD channel number (or wherever they want their customized listing to begin). But first, can I even accomplish a new tab on that page via a plugin? Or do I need to focus on contributions to the main? I'm no c-sharp wiz--I just compiled Emby for the first time today. A nudge in the right direction would be helpful. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/36070-feature-request-allow-users-to-change-startindex-for-guide-to-first-hd-channel/?hl=guide

Feature Request: Allow users to change startIndex for Guide to first HD channel
trmb posted a topic in Live TV
I was wondering if we could make it easier to use the Live TV guide to record/watch HD as opposed to SD. Mainly, I'd like the all the HD channels to show up first in the guide. Comcast has all my HD channels numbered from 650+. Currently I sorta do this by manually setting all of my favorite HD channels so they display first, but I've been looking at the Emby server code and trying to come up with a better way. It appears that the starting channel number is determined in tvGuide.js when reloadGuide initially calls channelsQuery and it sets the startIndex to 0 on first load. Would it be possible to have a admin user accessible setting to customize the channelsQuery startIndex to be the first desired channel number? E.g. the first HD channel... In my case that would 650, but other locations/providers would differ. Then the page +/- buttons could work forwards/backwards from there. I saw an old thread about something similar, filtering by HD, but Luke pointed out that the system can't easily determine which are HD. But the end user can definitely supply the number of the first HD channel. (Though it might also be possible to build some rudimentary intelligence in by scanning through the guide information channel names for the first channel with HD in its name... and having the suggested value in this field default to that...) Now I'm no C# whiz, but it seems like line 23 in the attached screenshot of tvGuide.js would be StartIndex: userStartIndex ? userStartIndex : 0, where userStartIndex would come from the admin setting page with first channel #. (Of course, the index likely doesn't map isomorphically to the actual channel number, so that UI routine might have to have do some translation from channel 650 to index xxx.) I know that's probably not how it will actually get done, but maybe I've started your brains ticking... Might even be useful to do the same thing for the channels tab. Thanks again for all your marvelous work devs. I'm already amazed I can watch Live TV in HD on a Roku 100 miles from my home. -
The "Select Date" for switching dates in the guide is broken. it just shows a small white box and does not show any dates. I have refreshed guide and restarted server. Still have issue. Everything else seems fine. Version 3.1.2.0

Recently I've noticed that in Live TV, "New" episodes aren't showing in the guide, under channel, or when you select the show that is "New". It appears to be only affecting mobile as when I use a computer to browse I see the "New" tag, thus ruling out an issue with Schedules Direct. I'm having this issue on my Nexus 6P running Android N build NPD35K. I understand that Android N might not be support as it's a beta Android, I'll check on my Nexus 7 later today that's on Android M. Screenshots attached.

When u view the guide for a single channel....the formatting is messed up. Its all just text and not set up in a table format like it used to be. Does it on all channels. Emby sever Version 3.0.5951.0

I'm missing Guide info in 1 Channel... 5.1 WFRVHD. This info is in WMC. This causes me to be unable to view this channel within emby. Web app and adroid app just spin when you select the channel. Roku dumps you back to the main menu unceremoniously. Screen shots of the WMC and Emby guides below. Log files in a separate post.

The Guide on Emby Live TV is excruciatingly slow to load and needs several page advances to get to some of the programming I want to tune. I knew I can set Favorites which show up at the top of the guide but sometimes I'm not looking for a Favorite Channel. I suspect that the guide needs to parse data from the internet each time i loads but could this be down with some sort of caching scheme to speed things up? I see this issue with the PlayOn app too so I think it is an issue with Emby that could be improved. Thoughts? Comments? Feedback? Is something in the works for this? I have no log to put up as I don't think this is something that will show in the logs. Thanks.

I noticed in the last couple of weeks all the sudden my OTA channels here in Denver, all so No Program Data Available. The regular cable channels I get through my provider all have guide information just fine, but most of the OTA guide information is missing? Is anybody else experiencing this? I've tried initiating a download of the guide information several times, and always end up with the same results. Thanks!

I have the latest Emby client (1.1.05a) running on Fire TV stick. ServerWMC is the backend and Emby is the newest beta. If I filter all genres (all box checked), navigating the guide gives strange results. When I navigate, the highlight that shows the selected program isn't displayed, or the highlight jumps forward in time off the screen. Or you can correctly navigate in one direction, but the highlight disappears when you navigate in the other direction. I don't see any pattern to this. Eventually, the highlight seems to start working again. Also, when no genre's are filtered, I've always seen strange results when navigating up or down. Sometimes the highlight will move forward in time on it's own. That is, when you navigate down to the next channel, it might select the program airing in the immediate future, not the currently airing program. And then navigating down again, it might move to another program further in the future.

1 - Can we add a channel configurator similar to WMC? Allowing me to completely hide channels? 2 - Is there anyway to switch off the hover feature in the browser(Edge) guide? Right now, if i am scrolling using the mouse wheel, a channel is randomly showing in a popup window.. If I hover my mouse over the channel number while scrolling with the wheel it is working ok, but it is not intuitive..

Is there a way that I can force Emby to NOT show certain items on the main screen? My PC doesn't have a tuner card, so the Recorded TV, Live TV and Guide folders are redundant. Moreover, I tried adding the Music folder into Emby and it conflicts with the way Windows Media Player works, so I don't use Music as part of my media collection.

I have two issues that I'm unsure where to start with. First, when viewing the TV Guide on my Nexus Player, the left side of the guide (the part that displays the Station Name and Channel Number) is significantly cut-off. It almost appears that I'm seeing cutoff on left, right, and below the guide, but it's most noticeable on the left side. I've attached a picture I took to help demonstrate what I'm seeing. I encounter this in both the standard TV guide and the new Live TV Guide that is still in beta testing. I haven't run into this anywhere else within the App. Is there a setting to adjust the guide dimensions somewhere that could potentially be causing this? I've encountered this from the first day I tried Emby so I don't believe it to be an issue strictly in the beta path so I've posted it here. The second issue I'm having is that there are times when it appears that Emby isn't attempting to stream fast enough from my HDHomerun. I encounter significant image breakup and audio dropouts which would seem to indicate that perhaps it was a maxed out CPU, but if I look at my CPU usage it's below 10% for FFMPEG, which in and of itself isn't correct. Normally viewing HD programs I'll see usage up near 50% depending on current motion. I look at the HDHomerun's tuner status and the output bitrate is significantly lower than it should be for the program I'm viewing (HD shouldn't be below 2 Mbps in Heavy Mode even in h.264 unless it's a static image and it's most certainly not when I'm looking at this) I don't know which log you'd need for this issue (transcode or server) so let me know which you need and I'll supply whichever. I've encountered this issue on many versions of server both Dev and Release which is why I'm posting it outside of the Testing forum. My current versions of everything is below for reference. Thanks. Windows 10 Emby Server - 3.0.5772.319 Nexus Player Android 6.0 Emby Android TV - 1.1.15.g

The guide just stopped showing up entirely. Just loads a blank page now in an browser. Android app loads Guide, but it is extremely slow. I restarted the server, even rebooted the computer. I ran the scheduled tasks to refresh library and guide....nothing. log attached Log.txt

Downloading the guide is quite slow with a large number of channels, even with a fast network and fast clients. It would be a good feature to be able to limit the number of hours retrieved/displayed to speed it up. For example, you could download 4 hours instead of 12. Also, it must be architectural because the guide is slow regardless of the client. Even when limited to just 50 channels, it's way slower than the guides built into cable or satellite receivers. Whatever method the clients use to retrieve and store this information is probably ripe for a rewrite.
