Duplicate Request Video Timeline Feature in Emby for Samsung SmartTV.

Hi! I'm requesting the feature to be able to use the video timeline in the player for the Emby app on Samsung SmartTV, we are not able to to forward or backward a video so can you put the feature on? I know there is a new version of Emby for Samsung SmartTV (Ver. 1.0.84) since 3 days but the feature is not in. Thanks! Greetings, Brandon

Hi I use a program to automaticaly download Youtube Videos, is there a way to auto import the metadata like description to emby. Specifically download the thumbnail, set the video description in emby like on the original video and maybe set the viewercount as rating. Are there any solutions that could achive that?

Hi Anyone ever had the idea of making an emby app for virtual reality? Only a simple app with a virtual screen (maybe cinema environment). There isnt a good solution for enjoing media in VR yet, so that might bring many new users to emby. Plex tried sth similar about a year ago, because many people requested it but the app was in a very bad shape at release and failed. Btw have someone already tried sth in that direction?

Hi How can i change/remove/add the buttons when a video is playing? I would really need a way to add videos to a playlist while they are running. (Music videos running in random mode and when i like it just klick to add it to my "I like" playlist) at the moment i need to stop playback and go back to menu and search it by name. So is there a way to add the more settings button "button.btnMoreCommands" from the normal menu to the bottom of the player? pic one in the blue circle. It would be also fine for me to replace an other button such as Pip that i dont need. Or is there an other way to easy add the video to the playlist while playing? Thx

Hi I just added my library from downloaded youtube channels to emby, but it tries to add every video to a season and is really buggy. pic 1 I tried the library type mixed, home videos and pictures and musicvideo. This happens only with 7 channels the others are how it should be pic 2. I have one folder called Youtube and for every channel a subfolder. I havent added anything to the videonames like S01E02 or sth How can i turn off season sorting for the whole library Thx

I was using Emby 1.0.81 just fine and I upgraded to 1.0.82 today and it's not working. I can see the emby logo and that's that, I can't login, nor do I see any other prompts. I am using a 2016 model samsung TV (UA49K6300) Steps I've taken : 1. Power cycled the TV 2. Reinstalled apps, deleted and reinstalled too. 3. Tried different USB, redownloaded and copied the files again. 4. Waited 20 mins for the splash screen to pass. I don't know how to get log from tizen so I can't It can't even go to login page so server log will be useless. I grabbed a screenshot but that's that. Can I find the .zip file for 1.0.81 please ?

OK so I really like the look and feel when using Kodi + Embuary Skin as the interface to Emby Server, which I am running in Windows 10. I could not find a great set-up guide, but managed to get it installed twice using this Youtube video: https://youtu.be/I8RsYObJb0Q by Ronnie Bailey. The first installation (with Kodi in Windows on my PC, the same one running Emby server) went fine, and looks like this (1st screenshot)., The second installation today (with Kodi on my Nvidia Shield) seemed to go OK, but after everything, it is not working exactly right. First, instead of seeing links to various episodes and movies on my home screen, it is mostly blank (or shows links to upcoming theater movies), and I have to go into the "Embuary" App. Then I can see a list of items like Favorite TV shows, Favorite Shows, etc - but clicking on them does not work. However if I click on TV shows (dynamic) and Movies (dynamic)- those work as I expect. Anybody know what I may have done wrong? Thanks in advance.

Way to create unofficial movie collections or "box sets" in one of the meta-data databases out there?

Hi, So I am building a media library of workout videos. While many of them should really be entered as TV series (and behind the scenes I am making progress to let TVDB allow them), I was working a lot making entries at moviedb first. At moviedb for a long time they officially have supported this media type as long as one enters each workout video individually (as if it is standalone), but marked as a video. This works OK and you do get a nice poster for each video that people will photoshop to in a title to say what day it is (e.g. Leg day) - but it does mean that in Emby I have to set up a (movie) collection for each workouts series, and add each individual workout video into that collection (e.g. A Little Obsessed has 5 workouts). But when you get to something like 80 Day Obsession which has 80 videos, even though someone has entered them all individually in MovieDB, it is proving to be a PITA to manually create a collection in Emby for each of these. Since I'm planning on switching my Emby server from Windows (test box) to the Nvidia shield (in a few weeks, as my main Emby server) - I'd like to just create a collection in one of these 3rd party metadata database sites, and have Emby pull it all from there nice and clean. I did install the "Box Set Plugin" in Emby and I notice that it automatically put all the Star Wars movies into a collection without having me having to do anything! This is cool - except - Moviedb does not allow people to create "collections" in their database for anything but genuine movies themselves, and genuine sequels that are well known (e.g. Star wars 1-9). People who want to make a collection for things like all Marvel Universe movies have the same problem as I do. Moviedb says they are working on a solution for the Marvel Universe problem but it may take some time and even then it may only be allowed for genuine movies? Sorry for the long introduction to explain the problem, but does do any of you have a similar problem and an easy solution? is there some sort of "box-set" like plugin that doesn't rely on moviedb, or maybe somebody else runs an "unofficial" collections database that The Box Set / Collections plugin can link into? -
I read through some posts on grouping, but not sure if it referred to exactly what I'm wondering: Is there a way to have more epg categories in the epg settings? Right now there are only Movies, Kids, Sports, and News. Is there a way to add Entertainment, PPV, and any other custom groups in order to navigate channels more easily? I'm new to all this, but if I use xteve, will I be able to make the changes in there? Thanks!

Basically if I’m watching a show on Roku or my iPhone and turn the computer that the server is running on, will the videos still play (including the next episodes)? -

Hola a todos, les traigo un aporte y espero sea permitido por la comunidad Emby. Se trata de cambiar el favicon.ico, pero principalmente de cambiar el título "Emby", esto debido a que hay muchos usuarios reportando o preguntando como se hace esto, y la verdad hay varias soluciones en la comunidad, pero practicamente a todas les falta siempre algún detalle. Por este motivo les traigo la solución definitiva y la que estoy utilizando actualmente. Lo más sencillo primero, Cambiar favicon.ico Lógicamente lo primero es tener nuestro nuevo ícono a mano. (extensión .ico) Bien copiamos nuestro nuevo favicon.ico, y nos vamos al directorio /system/dashboard-ui/ allí damos clic derecho Pegar nos pedirá confirmación para reescribir, damos Sí. Cambiar el título "Emby" por el nombre de nuestro servicio o servidor ejemplo "Server-multimedia" Lo primero que tienes que tener en cuenta es que necesitas editar 3 archivos y dentro de cada uno de ellos, debes buscar la palabra Emby varias veces, yo te indido... Nota: Realizar una salva de cada archivo que edites por si te equivocas, volver al original. 1er archivo a editar: /system/dashboard-ui/index.html dentro de este archivo index.html debemos buscar la línea: <meta name="application-name" content="Emby"> y reemplazarla por: (Server-Multimedia es el nombre que quieres poner) <meta name="application-name" content="Server-Multimedia"> Buscamos la línea: <meta property="og:title" content="Emby"> y la reemplazamos por: <meta property="og:title" content="Server-Multimedia"> Buscamos la línea: <meta property="og:site_name" content="Emby"> y la reemplazamos por: <meta property="og:site_name" content="Server-Multimedia"> Por último buscamos la línea: <title>Emby</title> y la reemplazamos por: <title>Server-Multimedia</title> Guardamos los cambios. 2do archivo a editar: /system/dashboard-ui/manifest.json Buscamos la línea: "name": "Emby", y la reemplazamos por: "name": "Server-Multimedia", Buscamos la línea: "short_name": "Emby", y la reemplazamos por: "short_name": "Server-Multimedia", Guardamos los cambios. 3er archivo a editar: /system/dashboard-ui/modules/appheader.js Buscamos el parámetro: document.title="Emby"}, y lo reemplazamos por: document.title="Server-Multimedia"}, Hay que tener cuidado con este archivo appheader.js debido a que no es por líneas sino que parece todo un párrafo, por eso debemos buscar bien el texto citado. Guardamos los cambios. En la mayoría de los casos debes, limpiar los datos del sitio en el navegador que usas, y reiniciar el servidor Emby. Al actualizar de versión, debemos realizar nuevamente los pasos, y es posible que cambien las ubicaciones o nombres de los archivos editados. (ya ha sucedido) Saludos y espero les resulte útil. Probado en Emby server 4.4.3. -
Hola Amigos Tengo un problema con la categoría series tengo un anime de 250 capítulos pero emby solo me muestra 100 capítulos los otros 150 no aparecen. Alguien tiene una solución este problema. Gracias

Hi, Multiple versions of movies is not working for me. Both versions appear in the drop down but both versions are pointing to the same file (Kingdom of Heaven.mkv) under path in Metadata, so I can only play one version. I can't play the Directors Cut. Below is how the movie folder is setup: The same is happening for all other multi version movies.

This may be a straightforward question, but is there a way to export all of the watch dates for each media by user (definitely movies, but TV shows would be nice as well)? If I remember correctly there was a database we could manipulate.

Hi everyone. I have found a (Issue and this needs enhanced) because i have a friend who have downloaded a whole TV show to my mobile because both of us have the same Phone name and looks like than emby allow to see everyone devices as connected to emby through the list of downloads to device option let me explain in other words How I supposed to know wish iPhone is mine and the other 2 is my friend, as you can see there are 3 iPhone in the list because the devs don't have isolated it. I'm my moms tv with her accounts same thing (all device is listed) As you can see in above picture, I can allow to download my movies to any device from other users, it should have a isolated device list per users Like my computer and my smartphone and etc (My own devices only) .. But not showing me the device from others like my mom devices, it should be isolated between accounts (My user can download to my own device) (My moms can download to her device) I really don't understand why the devs don't have isolated the list by user. Like I have described above. Hopefully this will be fixed soon because is a security issue user may not be able to view devices from other users. Resume to do. Isolation between device account to don't allow users to download by mistake to a device from other users, so by this way the device is isolated by accounts and the retrieved(return or resulted) list was only the device from that user and not from the other. Hi everyone, I have a other ideia for embyweb and emby apps, i would like than emby devs develop a way to post comments on the movies and store the comments as (Self Hosted) . So if someone have previously whatched the movies he/she can comment thought (Nvidia Shield,Android,iOS,WEB,etc...) and then we can reply but the whole thing self hosted. This is a e.g (Footage of my feature demande ) (Hosted in emby means -> Hosted in my Server "SelfHosted") Kind regards EDIT: Also i forget to precise but this feature need some moderation tools or be moderated by default by Emby Server "Self Hosted" like ban url, (Just something to eliminate all potential wrong use of this) or not clicable links etc.. (Basicly a tool to moderate it) i have family on my server and i don't want they swear on my emby server because i have also my family on it so it will be nice to have a tool to moderate comments. I have a student account in google drive practically unlimited, I can use that shared drive for emby sync or I necessarily need to use the common drive that only has 15 gb? @@cayars

Olá Prezados, boa tarde! Deseja saber se é possível realizar uma alteração no Favicon e o nome que aparece na tela dos navegadores. Já fiz muitos testes, até mesmo no index.html, mas sempre volta para o logotipo e o nome EMBY. Será que alguém pode me ajudar?

Hi! I've all of a sudden have an issue with my Emby server. Over night it got from being fast / smooth to be insanely slow. I only have the "basic plugins" installed. Attached is the server log. Any idea of what's causing this? embyserver.txt

Hi everyone, I would like to know if there was in the future update a way to filter the audio (Like e.g by english,french,spanish etc..) and the same for subtitles i can do that for container and etc.... but it doesn't show me for audio, subtitles. So i would to request it, as i can see on plex i can do that but not in emby. Not sure if this is related but don't forget to add this filter in all library type. -

Hi everyone, I have downloaded some videos from youtube but the json appears like something wierd (No paragraphs, no clickable links,no actors(Usually the name of the youtube channel) etc..) I whant to suggest to do something like plex have done to allow users to click on the links in the description and they have some more stuff like appear the actor info (Not sure if you can do that on emby "appear youtube channel as a actor") btw this is some printscreen to show you what i mean. It can be usefull to be able to read it like that (Paragraphs, clickable links, and if possible show the actor name like on plex (But not sure if this is possible) by the way the Paragraphs and Clickable links can be very usefull. This is just a minor update i guess So in emby it looks like that. And i also can report than the date is not correct it show me the years like that (20190513) on years filter. Can anyone help me figure this out? I want to open the EMBY app installed on my TCL Roku TV as an activity when I turn it on and open the EMBY app seconds after the TV turns on so I wont have to!! lol

Spanish Buenas nuevamente. Sigo trabajando con la API y emby y la verdad me está encantando, pero tengo una duda sobre si lo que estoy por pedir es posible o no. Quiero permitir que los usuarios puedan descargar el contenido de mi servidor, pero que ese contenido solo pueda ser reproducido desde la misma app con la que se descargo, parecido a lo que hace servicios como netflix y amazon prime. Es decir, que tenga una especie de firma digital para que solo pueda ser reproducido desde aplicaciones emby. English Good again. I am still working with the API and emby and I am really loving it, but I have a question about whether what I am about to ask for is possible or not. I want to allow users to download content from my server, but that content can only be played from the same app with which it was downloaded, similar to what services like netflix and amazon prime do. That is, it has a kind of digital signature so that it can only be reproduced from emby applications. Thanks! -
Preface Long term plex user and finally frustrated with the whole thing, made the decision of swapping to emby. Have been very happy, seems to work better, better performance overall (lighter on resources) and has a lot more granularity in the settings compared to plex. However there are still a few frustrating points that (and this is my opinion) are stopping emby from shining. Below is a list of little annoyances, with the hope emby devs have a look and maybe incorporate them. Also apologies if I missed something and these have workarounds! I'll be adding to this list, as I'm pretty certain I have missed a few things. Emby niggles: More work needs to be done on the identification process - at the moment, if a movie/show doesn't load posters or the title is too big, it's too hard to identify what show it refers too. Most times I'm forced to go the tvdb/imdb and find the show id there, then paste the id on the identify screen to get the correct show. More work needs to be done on this interface. Allow for bigger titles, etc When identifying, there should be no need to wait for the server to finish collecting metadata so that we can use the GUI. At the moment you need to wait for the metadata gathering process to finish in order to use the server interface again, as there is a loading screen in between. Better interface for un-merging wrongly identified shows - at the moment, if you want to un-merge you have to turn off the merge option on the library, identify the show, then re-merge. The way it should work, it should allow you to split apart based on folder so you can identify each folder separately without the need to un-merge the whole library. Splitting single episodes apart doesn't work in my experience, No way to setup general folder access or folder access templates - as an example, select from a list of users and apply an access template (all, no 4k, no anime, etc.). These would of course be user created templates and it would save the trouble of going user by user to apply restrictions when you've just added a new 4k folder and not all your users can't take advantage of it. More detail needed on the dashboard screen about active streams - the dashboard needs to be reworked. There is not a lot of useful information on the streams at the moment regarding type of stream, quality, etc. Also notifications need to be better reorganized Need movie merge, like TV show merge - at the moment I am using a custom made addon found in the forums however this needs to be implemented by the emby team, as it is super useful. Better details for library scans - at the moment you only have a percentage complete bar. Let's be fair, that doesn't really tell us much., I'm doing "tail -f" on the emby server log, but we still need a more user friendly approach to this. Something like "Currently scanning x", "Grabbing metadata for y", etc No compatible streams found - now this one is truly frustrating. Have tried to fix it, reproduce it with other files, to no avail. Why are there no compatible streams found when the files are in place and you can actually download them directly from the server interface? However, ask for the server to play them on the GUI/iOS app/whatever, it won't. Thanks again for all the love given to emby and keep up the good work!
