Hello! Hope everyone is doing well today. I am getting reports from a few users stating they are not able to remote into the server via console, smart tvs, and phones. I have confirmed that when wifi is off on my phone, I have no issue. I confirmed with my own TV and console that I have remote access to the server. I see other users on and watching movies, so it appears to be an odd situation. Wondering if anyone mind taking a peek at the debug ran. This debug was run during one of my users attempting access via phone and via Samsung smart TV. My TV is also Samsung, and sadly I am not able to duplicate the reported issue. Hi, I have a problem with Emby on AppleTV 4K gen2. I can't fast forward or rewind. Pressing up also does not work to get to the timeline. A comparison I have me the Android TV versions. Server Synology DSM 7 x64 uptodate Beta ….15 can anyone help pls?

Emby Live TV - Disable Record Prompt Hi everyone and the Emby Team. First, thanks so much for all of your hard work and effort on the Emby product - it is fantastic and has come a long way. I have been a supporter since the Media Browser days, 2013 and on wards! Secondly, I am using the Emby Live TV feature and have noticed the 'Record Prompt' appears when I click on any of the channels to watch a live TV session. Is there any way to by-pass this or to turn it off completely? I do not need to record any sessions. Upgraded to Synology DSM 7, Emby connect remote access stopped working

Hi all before i ask the question let me say I've been drilling down these forums and others and I feel like I've tried everything. Here is the issue, I upgraded from DSM 6 to DSM 7 while having emby installed. I later uninstalled emby and manually installed the correct emby package for my Synology NAS from here. What is my problem? Emby connect cant connect to the remote WAN address while my mobile phone on 4G can, I can also see the IP and Port (8096) using the CanYouSeeMe.org tool. Here is my emby connectivity details when loaded locally (First image) Here is me trying to connect emby connect to my NAS (Second image) Here is the response I get (Third image) "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." What i have tried. The connectivity tutorial. Connecting to "Remote WAN" using my phone on 4G: it works. Connecting to "Remote WAN" using CanYouSeeMe.or: it also works. Why can't emby connect not see my NAS? it used to work fine before my upgrade to DSM v7. Many thanks!

I installed Jellyfin just to check it out, not realizing how closely tied-in with Emby it was. Immediately upon install, Emby began opening as Jellyfin. I uninstalled Jellyfin completely, but Emby STILL opens up as Jellyfin. Then I reinstalled Jellyfin because I read some forums that said all you had to do was change the port number. Now, after reinstallation, Jellyfin no longer recognizes my Username/Password, plus I can't click on half the items in front of me, including "Forgot Password"!! Nothing but a dead response. So FINALLY, I uninstalled Jellyfin AGAIN, but, same deal. I open Emby but Jellyfin opens instead, but oddly, accepts my Emby password, but not Jellyfin? Things are ALL jacked to Hell now, and not a clue how to fix it...any help here would be welcome. Thanx!

How and with which plugin can I easily access the movie (and series) bonus material (extras folders) of my emby premiere installation in Kodi 19.1? Am grateful for all tips and tricks. Access and playback of the extras in emby works without any problems. Thanks for your help in advance, Georg

Hello, I have Emby running on a remote server and I am able to access my library through both iOS and through a web browser, however, when trying to setup the Emby app through my appleTV I run into the following problems. After installing the Emby app I get the option to sign in by using Emby Connect and I have a pin. I go onto a browser and put in my login info along with the pin which all works as it should. The Emby app on my appletv then goes to a screen where I assume that my server is meant to appear but it does not. So I manually try to add my server using my URL but I just get an error saying connection failure. Please could anyone assist me. Thanks.

The application is very good but some adjustments are missing. For example, when you exit the app via the back button, it ends the music playback. If you want to leave the app using the back button, because it comes back on all the screens you have entered, as if it were a browser and not a player. -
Hi @Luke @ebr, I was wondering with your recent new update to 4.6.50 whether you have included the new direct support for live tv via tuner cards without additional software (e.g. MediaPortal, WinTV etc)? As the changelog doesn't mention it, but doesn't mean that it isn't present. As it may be an unlisted change, anyway I have tried to find the release announcement for the new version as it may be mentioned either way in that post. But it doesn't seem to have been written and published yet could someone please answer me on the situation with this question please? Thanks, MrGrymReaper

This is quite an unusual request, I'm asking for a way to name 1 file containing 2 episodes that are not adjacent to eachother For example: S1E01-06 will be episodes 1 THROUGH 6 S1E01+06 will be episodes 1 AND 6 Is that possible?

Bonjour à tous, Je viens de découvrir grâce à Emby les fichiers "*.strm". Une fonction qui peut être extrêmement pratique ! J'ai fais quelques essais en mettant des vidéos sur Uptobox, j'ai ensuite copier le lien de téléchargement pour créer mon ficher .strm. La démarche fonctionne très bien et Emby lit correctement le film sur TV, smartphone et navigateur. Cependant Emby est installer sur un NAS synology DS 720+ et lorsque je lance un film il transcode avec un cpu de 90%... Est-il possible de récupérer uniquement le liens de streaming? Avez-vous une solution pour éviter le transcodage? D'avance merci pour votre aide

Hi, guys. I am using Emby on my TrueNAS system. I could see my movies on Emby, but when I try to play them, it showed "Playback Error: No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." I have tried many many methods, and I don't solve it yet. My server log is attached. Is there anybody who could help me? I have installed and run the setup for the OS5 version of emby and updated the operating system on MyCloud EX4100. The operating system doesn't have an easy setup for making emby work correctly. I have reset it several times and changed the SSH and DLNA settings trying to access the port emby opens "8096", nothing works. When I try to configure the app in the MyCloud device Mycloud opens a new browser window using the "8096" port, and the page opens saying the server returned an invalid response. and never responds correctly. Please Help, my entire video library has been transferred to the MyCloud. I need to get some sort of access besides direct connection.

Direct Play not working with TS files on Shield TV, works with other devices and on Plex

Hi I am using a combination of Plex and Emby to record from my Homerun Duo onto my PC. All the files record as TS files, which is what I want as the conversion to an MP4 of interlaced material is horrible. TS files can retain both progressive streams and interlaced streams and a combination, so I want to stick with TS. I've just invested in a Shield TV and was going to make a choice between Emby and Plex as I don't want to keep paying for both. My issue is, all TS files layed on the Shield in Emby end up transcoding (Direct Play error). This ends up slower, but also converts them and deinterlaces them which I don't want. Old 90s shows which I record a lot of do not look good. It doesn't affect newer progressive shows so much. The same files on Plex alwats play directly and seek really quickly. Just for comparison, I tried the Emby and Plex apps on my Samsung TV and they both use direct play for these files, it just seems that it's Emby on the Shield that doesn't. After investing £150 on a Shield I want to be using it and the experience geneanrally is quicker than using the apps on my TV. I know that there has been talk in the past about problems with seeking on TS files in Emby, but if Plex can do it and the Samsung TV Emby app can do it, why can't the Shield TV do it? I'm leaning towards keeping Plex at the momnent which is a shame as there are many parts to Emby that I prefer. -

My setup: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (I would prefer if this said CEntOS but that's another story) TurboSight TBS 6280 DVB-T/T2/C (SAA716x dvb adapter) Docker (I don't think this effects my guide much below but worth mentioning) Emby (emby/embyserver:latest version on as of 9th January 2021) Tvheadend (linuxserver/tvheadend:latest version on as of 9th January 2021) docker-compose.yml Install required software (Ubuntu, TBS drivers, docker, docker-compose) Check DVB adapter exists $ ls /dev/dvb/ Install required Docker images/containers (see attached docker-compose.yml) $ docker-compose up -d http://tvheadend:9981 (setup Tvheadend) Configuration > Start wizard > Language (save and next) > Access control details (either on this screen or after the wizard create a user with the username * and no password (see attached User login.png) Tuners and network (configure as required) Assign Predefined Muxes to Networks (configure as required) > Scanning (save and next) > Map services to channels (configure as required) > Finish http://emby:8096 (setup Emby) Settings > Live TV > Live TV > TV Sources > M3U Tuner (http://tvheadend:9981/playlist/channels.m3u) Settings > Live TV > Live TV > TV Guide Data Providers > Guide Data Setup (configure country as required) and Guide source: XmlTV > File or URL (http://tvheadend:9981/xmltv/channels) Settings > Users > Access > Recordings Notes: Recordings made through the Tvheadend interface are separate to recordings made through the Emby interface. If I haven't mentioned a setting, chances are I haven't changed from the default. Multiple screen shots are attached to help clarify some steps. The M3U link can be tested in VLC media player: Media > Open Network Stream > network URL: http://tvheadend:9981/playlist/channels.m3u The channels link can be tested in an internet browser by pasting the link into the address bar. http://tvheadend:9981/xmltv/channels I hope this helps someone docker-compose.yml

Just made a new app banner look to Emby For Android TV

Hi guys! I recently bought the new Chromcast with Google TV (Android TV) and it was a blast! The system fluidity speed is amazing. I just decided to give a better look at the app banner of Emby so I generated a APK launcher for the Emby Android TV app and I think it's a better fit in my opinion. I'm a graphic designer since 7 years now so if you need something else just ask!✌ PS: I have the Emby logo in vector, that's why. The app banner size is 1280px × 720px and the green color is the same as the Emby symbol logo. Cheers!

Hallo Problem: habe die Filme Die Fliege (1958), Die Rückkehr der Fliege (1959), Der Fluch der Fliege (1965), Die Fliege (1986) und Die Fliege II (1989) so und diese werden in eine Sammlungen zusammengefügt so weit so gut. wenn ich jetzt aber ein scan der bibliothek mache wird immer eine neue Filmreihe von "Die Fliege Filmreihe" hinzugefügt und das bei jedem scan so komme ich bei 20 scans auf 20 Filmreihen usw und muss diese dann von hand löschen da sie bei einem erneuten scan automatisch wieder neu erstellt werden/wird. hat sonst noch jemand das Problem ?

que tal buenas tardes. desde hace un tiempo he tenido un problema, ya que en el emby server dejo de aparecerme la parte donde dice "acceso en el hogar" y por lo tanto no puedo conectarme en otros dispositivos. ya he intentado borrando el servidor e instalandolo de nuevo, incluso instalandolo en otra computadora pero nada me ha servido. a alguien le ha pasado algo similar y que lo haya podido solucionar? muchas gracias

Hi everyone I'm looking for the best way to notify my users of content being updated. Currently, I've configured in the notification the "Content Update" and then installed the app "E-mail notifications" that sends it out. Apart from being a PITA to configure (you have to do it for every single user), it's a bit spammy (one email per file) and it appears to only send out a max of 2 per library update (unsure if this is a bug or the account being blocked to avoid spam like behaviour). Ideally, it would send a single email per library update with all the info in it. In a perfect world, it would actually populate a sort of internal newsletter, that the user could subscribe to. Ex: User A, ticks the box for media folder 1 and media folder 3. Does any of this already exists? How are you doing it? Thanks!

I am trying to watch a tv series and am on the second episode. However I cant watch it properly because the auto aspect ratio cant be changed while casting to chromecast making it impossible to watch this episode while using Emby beacuse of the video being squished to half its normal size. I have confirmed it does play normally with Media Player Classic and the aspect radio isnt changed until I use Emby to play it. This wouldnt be a hug deal if the option wheel icon actually worked while casting. As such I believe a hotfix should be in the works. Also I cant seem to find the option for turning auto aspect ration of in the regular main options menu when not playing a video to be able to turn it off. I may be overlooking it though. I can change the aspect ration when not casting and thought it might be a quick fix if I did that and than cast over to my tv. But once I did the aspect ratio auto changed back to the squished video. Ideally Id like to use Emby to watch this episode but am unsure what I can do to fix this if anything and may just have to cast it from media player classic just to get past it. It does however bring up concern this could be a problem in the future. I have previously made a similar post about the option wheel not working while casting to chrome so I suppose this can be combined for a continuation of that Bug Report. Regards.
