I just bought an emby lifetime subscription today and I can't get any of the android apps to work. I can log in fine to Web Gui, Emby Theater, Kodi work (although EmbyCon is extremely slow and part of the reason I want to use the apps). I bought this subscription mostly to use the apps so I'm currently feeling like I wasted money. I can log into each of the apps (Fire TV and Android Phone). I have used my reverse proxy using apache, direct https and direct http ports and I can sign in using all of them but when I try to select something to play it just sits there. Although sometimes it seems I can get a SSL Handshake Error and other times it seems like it's not even recognized. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I have attached a couple server log.

Hi I recently bought a new PC, upgraded by EMBY to Premier and did a back up before moving it to my new machine. All good. But my Samsung TV now won't connect or open emby, I see the Lounge Room screen but it won't progress from there. Not very tech savvy, so you might need to step me through this slowly. Mel

Hi there, SInce a few weeks I have an issue in Kodi using Emby for Kodi. Indeed, my librairies in Kodi, which are exclusively built from Emby for Kodi, sometimes simply disappear and it shows empty librairies in Kodi. This issue is totally random, as it might work perfectly for a few days, and then one day my librairies will be empty. A few things to be noticed : - It seems to me that when turning on my TV and Kodi, my librairies are always showing as expected. The librairies disappearance always seems to occur when using Kodi for at least a few minutes (either by playing a video file or navigating in Kodi menus). - Librairies are still there and well on my Emby server, and I can access them perfectly fine in a web browser from another machine. - The only way for the librairies to appear again in Kodi is to hard turn off my TV (by pressing the turn off button, then unplug the TV, replug it and turning it back on). My TV is 2015 Sony Bravia with Android TV. - When Emby updates the librairies in Kodi, I have noticed that updating now takes about 2 minutes instead of about 20 seconds a few weeks ago. - Evrything else which is network/internet related works just fine in my TV. Last thing : I do not fully understand the difference between Emby for Kodi and EmbyCon. I can get Emby Server to install ok on Raspbian. I can load it up and everything works, except that it can't read my storage device. Raspbian file explorer sees the storage and I can view the movies, but when I type that path to add to my library, it says it's not valid. I have zero experience here. I'm just googling what I can, but a lot of it is over my head. Can someone please help me out with a ELI5? Thank you!

moin nach langer zeit hab ich mich wieder mit Emby befast. diesmal der raspberry als server. Ich habe 2 RPi auf einen läuft der Emby server auf den anderen Kodi nach langer zeit hab ich alles so hinbekommen wie ich es mir vorgestellt habe. meine 2 Fragen sind kann ich kodi und emby server auf einen RPi laufen lassen, wenn ja wie? die andere frage ist kann ich mit emby auch auf externe platten zugreifen, also die nicht diereckt mit dem RPi wo der emby drauf ist verbunden ist, aber im gleichen netzerk ist platte ist an der Fritzbox angeschlossen ich weiss das ich die platte auch an der RPi anschliessen kann, aber was ich nicht möchte und auch da wenn ja wie? danke in vorraus wenn mir jemand die fragen beatworten kann doedeldie 'Ps: da ja alles bei mir geht, sind es eigendlich nur wissens fragen

I am currently using a connecion from Computer to TV with Emby media for windows and I have always liked that with the Chocolate theme. What are the options for player etc? Hi, Before anything else I simply must thank you for your otherwise excellent product: I really like Emby and have been using it for over a year now. It's pretty, easy to use and the cross-platform apps are superb. Thank you very much. So, I'm having a problem playing back media. Whether TV shows, movies etc. doesn't matter. They play fine: in the browser, using my Apple TV (4th gen) or the iOS app (iPhone). The catch though is the scrubber doesn't display relative to the length of the media itself, only relative to the amount it has buffered. For example, if 'Dick Spanner: The Case of the Human Cannonball' is 50-ish minutes long then the scrubber will initially show 30-40 seconds total length. Then more will buffer and the total length will go up. In order to skip 20 minutes into the media file, I need to wait for 20 minutes worth of media to buffer before the scrubber will let me go that far. Here's a screenshot of an episode of Father Ted to illustrate: It's only about 5 seconds in, but the scrubber makes it look like we're 2/3 of the way through the episode. It also seems that the media files don't buffer beyond a certain amount- about 5 minutes or so ahead (which makes good sense, saves on bandwidth) but that means I can only skip ahead 5 minutes or so each time. I'd like to be able to start a movie, stop watching it halfway through and then restart it later and scrub to where I left off. I often access the Emby server remotely and, due to remote access problems, it's not uncommon for movies to cut-off or have to be restarted. In those cases Emby isn't necessarily aware of where they left off (so no 'Resume' option) and I must scrub to the correct point manually. Now Emby didn't do this until recently, ie in the last week or so, so I can only imagine its either something I've done to our network (quite possible!) or some setting that I've flipped accidentally. Has anyone seen this? If so, do you know how I might correct it? It's trivial... but surprisingly frustrating! I've attached my Emby server logs (there's only one user in the system). -- Set up details: * Emby is running on a Windows Server 2016 box accessing media from an NFS share over a 10/100 CAT7 ethernet connection. * NFS share is CentOS 7 with a 7 disk (1 spare) RAID6 array. I changed to this from SAMBA a little while ago due to poor performance. * Client devices access either over WiFi or remotely through reverse-proxy. * Emby runs as a standard non-privileged user using the Emby Portable image. * All was going fine until about 10 days ago * Scrubber issue happens on all clients, remote and local. * I've tested (over WiFi) mounting the NFS share as a drive and dragging-n-dropping a file into VLC, which seems to stream it happily with the scrubber adjusted correctly. * NFS share has a network throughput of about 10 meg a second, so can download 1GB in about 1-2 mins The biggest change I've made was 2 weeks ago which involved changing from installing as a service to installing the portable edition- running as a service was difficult when trying to mount network shares, it involves granting the service 'logon as user' rights and all sorts. -- My apologies for the complexity and I hope you might be able to recommend what I'm doing wrong any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get rid of some Artists who only made appearances on songs by other artists. I removed them from the metadata for the songs they appeared on, and I re-scanned my library after doing that, but these artists still appear in my Artist section. I found them in /var/lib/emby/metadata/artists and I tried deleting them from there too, but that didn't work either. How do I delete these artists?

Hi Everyone. I'm new to Emby, saw a review for it today and decided to install it on my Synology NAS. I got the server installed and running, it performed the scan of the directories i set up in the library. I download the iOs App to my iPad and connected to the server through my home networkd, the app can see my library and has all the thumbnails and synopsis for episodes and movies etc. 1) I have to say I like the looks of the Emby interface more than any other ones I've tried, Plex, Synology's proprietary, and one other I can't remember. I commend a job well done. Now my question, when I go to play an episode or a movie I get the Unlock feature screen asking me to subscribe to Emby Premiere. So does this mean that before I can watch my files using Emby apps I have to pay a subscription? P.S. I have used my browser and can access the files and watch them on my laptop but I would rather use my Xbox.

Hi I'm noob here. I have a Emby Premier account, would like to set up Live TV with Emby on Roku. I added schedules Direct account details on Emby server settings and selected the right Channel Lineup that I have selected on Schedules Direct account but nothing is appear on Live TV channels, I tried to change the Channel Line up same way in schedules direct and Emby Live Tv settings but nothing works. I don't know I'm doing it in the right way could anyone help me to set up Live Tv ?

Hello, I am running an emby server (premier), and it is crashing almost every hour. The server is running Ubuntu 16.04 with 4 vcpu and 8g of ram - Vultr I have attached the server log for reference, For some reason it has alot of errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
