  1. Sometimes I might have one and won't know it.
  2. Hey! Let me start by saying that Emby is awesome, it works wonders and there's a lot of small stuff that Plex doesn't have the Emby does so much better! Since I'm migrating away from Plex there's one thing I'm currently missing that Plex has. The ability to sort items in a collection according to my choosing, I want to drag and drop. For example. I have a Marvel Collection with all the Marvel movies, and I want to sort them in the order that they should be watched, not the year they were released or something like that. In Plex you can drag och drop the items in any order you wish, I would love to be able to that in Emby as well! Battlestar Galactica would be another great example where I want to sort by drag and drop, since you should watch that in a specific order. Keep up the awesome work you're doing! Cheers!
  3. In connection with part of this https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/50808-volume-leveling-across-movies-and-tv-shows/?hl=dynamic#entry486766 thread, would be really nice if there was some kind of audio leveling within movies etc, particularly dts stuff I believe, so that we can actually hear people talking in movies without being blowing out of our seats when they nearly always seem to start with explosions and shooting etc. Its quite annoying at the moment with our simple TV with audio out to stereo speaker setup. I think there's something available in Theater (and Kodi) but would help to have it in Android and apps in general.
  4. Some theme musics are loud, for which I have to reduce the volume; and then again the media sound (that of movies/shows) are inaudible in that reduced volume, so I have to increase the volume again. So I wish there was a setting just for theme music in the settings beneath the "Enable Theme Music" option
  5. Hi, I am new to Emby. I have created several collections where I wanted to sort movie-titles e.g. by cathegories like "sci-fi" and other tags. Now, I've noticed, that it seems not to be possible, to sort the titles within these collections. All movie titles are listed in a nearly random looking order... It would be nice to have a sort function within the collection to sort films by title, or manually...
  6. Hello, I have some home videos, that I have in a Video folder on Emby, but I noticed that it won't do an Auto play to the next one.. It seems to only do an Auto Play if I make my Library folder for those videos TV. I would like to see the Auto Play to next video to work with Home Videos and mixed content. So If I'm in a video folder /sub folder it will play all the videos in that folder one after the other, like with the TV Library. Thanks
  7. When a movie or pretty much anything else starts, a short OSD popup showing the name of the program etc is shown for a few seconds and that works well. However if you have a pre-roll configured before a movie, the OSD pops up for it as well which is of no value, and detracts from the experience since the pre-roll itself typically is only a few seconds anyway. Please don't popup anything if a pre-roll is being shown.
  8. There are a ton of Android boxes being sold today running Android mobile, including Xiaomi TV's, and Xiaomis new Xiaomi 4 SE box. We need a way to use a remote on the mobile version of Android for the thousands of people who dont want to buy a Google certified Android TV box for 3 times the price.
  9. Luke I know that this request has been made several times but I think it would be something beneficial for everyone. Most of the movies I have are mkv but for the musical concerts I prefer to use the ISO format for the menus and song selection. With the EWMC app I have it solved with the configuration of the app and with the support of Powerdvd 15 but in the app for Roku and android it is not possible to reproduce the ISO's. It would be very complicated if the server could do it with those app ?.
  10. Ive written this feature request in a user story format, feel free to let me know if you need any additional details As an administrator i want to be able to provide announcements or notifications to users of my server for things such as scheduled maintenance, announcements, etc. Preferably I would like this to be a splash type screen after user login. This will allow administrators to notify users of the system without needing user specific information (e.g. email addresses) Below is a reference post in a separate thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/68741-login-disclaimer-new-line/
  11. I'd like to see catch-up support in live tv. Many iptv providers support up to 7 days of catch-up. See http://niklabs.com/catchup-settings/ for a quick overview of the attribs in a m3u.

    AppleTV 4K Client

Feature Request. I tried searching on this, but don't know what it's called. When I'm in my Movies, I don't see where I can do a fast scroll that usually located on the right side of the screen that would allow me to select movies that start with a # A B C . . Z. When you have over 700 movies, it takes time to scroll using the Siri remote to find moves. Can this be added?
  13. Hi, After upgrading to v4, I made a mistake in creating duplicated new media libraries by clicking the Ok multiple times when it didn't seem to respond. Then I deleted the duplicated ones thinking the problem would be solved. Nope. While there is no more duplicated media libraries, all the earlier duplicated ones still appear in Metadata Manager and my home screen. I even deleted the new media library but all the duplicated media libraries are still in Metadata Manager and my home screen. For clarity's sake, here is a list of things that I've tried but nothing helped. 1. Delete duplicated media libraries 2. Delete the newly created media library 3. Scan all libraries and restart the Emby server (done multiple times) 4. Restore a backup done before upgrading to v4 (no longer a Premium user) If it's simply because Restore works only for Premium users, the solution is easy. I just want to make sure that before renewing my Premium membership. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks! Aaron
  14. My feature request is an option to link crossover episodes over multiple series (for example the actual DC series or the Dick Wolf franchise, and others)! I know that TheTVDB has no metadata for crossover episodes, the information is only inside the plot. So it would be great to get metadata fields inside the episodes to link it manually. Perhaps with pulldown menus where I can choose from my already scraped content (field "TV series", then "Season", then "Episode", then "before / after"). And after that the crossover is shown in all series which are involved (like "C1" or something else").

    Images via URL

I would like to able to insert images from an URL instead of having to save it then upload it.
  16. Greetings I am new to Emby and if this feature is already in here, I have not been able to find it. I have found the "Block items with tags" but I need a "allow items with tags" option. I have a library with over 4000 items and my kids only have access to about 200 of them so having to tag 3800 items is really not going to be pleasant nor feasible. I currently use Plex and wanted to possibly move to Emby, Without this feature, it is definitely a deal breaker. If there is a way to do this (without moving the 200 items to a completely different file structure), or not a feature that will be implemented, please let me know... Thanks Brian

    Resume Shuffle

I would like to request an option to resume shuffle play of a series. Too many times I put a show on shuffle / random but then either turn the TV etc, Then the only options when coming back to the TV is Shuffle again or selecting an episode (often having to rewatch the same episodes you just watched). It would be good if you could just resume a shuffle play, i assume theres some sort of random order generated upon shuffle, if it could just hold on to that / save it. Thanks
  19. Is there any way to get the Tray icon to change somehow when an Active Recording is in Progress? Having come from 14 years of Media Center, it was nice having the little red dot in the system tray to indicate a recording in progress, you don't always remember all the time slots you have recordings scheduled for, so now I never know if it's safe to do a reboot for any reason or not without launching the web interface and checking the guide for active recordings.

It would be great if the notifications had an mqtt option.
  21. So, I've pretty much moved from plex at this point except for one thing... Emby is really just...not good at picking up shows on its own. It needs so much hand-holding to get the show to show up as the correct thing and it seems like Plex just does it magically almost all the time. I think I have a simple solution to smoothing this process out a little. When your scanner scans files, could you make it parse a space (0x20,0x255), a period (0x65), or an underscore (0x95) as all the same kind of delimiter? I think this is fundamentally what is separating the two things from finding things properly. It seems like if you take a file named something like silicon.valley.s05e01.720p.web.h264-tbs.mkv and put it in a folder with another random file it will pickup nothing. If you rename that files to "Silicon Valley S0501 720p.mkv" it will get it, but I'm honestly not doing that with literally thousands of episodes of TV. if you were to put that same file inside a folder just called Silicon Valley, it would get it. So, actually...come to think of it, as I'm typing...maybe the parsing of the file isn't even the issue because if it can read it when it's inside a folder of the same name then it must be using those delimiters. I dunno. Nonetheless....it seems like there's something going on here, either a bug or a feature, that needs to be looked at. Just take like 10 TV shows and throw them all in one folder and let it scan them as a library and it will give you nothing. Break them into their own folders and it will at least give you a folder with a blank page. I should be able to see the individual files if I put 100 single episodes into 1 folder and those episodes are not contiguous.

    Search by Tags

I know this has been requested before but searching the forum returned literally nothing for some reason. This should have been added when tags were added, when can we expect to be able to search tags? As in, search for matching text found within tags?
  23. When browsing on the Roku app, I have my libraries along the top: Movies, TV Shows, etc, then going down the screen there is Continue Watching, Next Up, Latest Movies, etc. When selecting Movies for example, the next screen gives buttons at the top for all movies, genres, and others, below that there is the same again (or similar) Continue Watching, Next Up, etc. I've already seen this on the main menu, can I not just go directly to my full movie list? For me personally I don't need the other buttons at the top but they could stay where they are and just have the full movie list underneath? It's getting very repetitive having to go through two screens to get to my movies when it could just be one, and I've repeatedly had to explain to users that they need to select "Movies" at the top once they're in the Movies library (that's another thing, this text used to say "All Movies" which was much more self-explanatory, now it's a little confusing).
  24. Recent lifetime subscriber and I am very happy so far. Just trying to figure out which client will be best to standardize on for several TVs. The one thing preventing me from using Apple TVs is the lack of a real grid-style guide and mini-guide in the ATV client. I would love to see this feature added soon. Thanks!

    Actor Bios

EBR closed the thread so I could not elaborate on it, I suggested adding TV/Movie credits to the character bio, not just the ones in my library for example Michael Keaton has been in several movies, maybe 50 or so... I have 2 movies with him in it...Beetlejuice & Spiderman: Homecoming Since I think he is a great actor I would like to buy other movies/TV shows with him in it I think it would be nice if the Emby team added his list of movies and tv shows he has been in to the bio...thats it. later on in the post I mentioned that Emby team could eventually link the movies and tv shows in the character bio to the Emby library and this is what EBR read and posted the following "We already show items in your library containing that actor." he missed the whole point to my suggestion: add all movies & TV credits to the bio, not just the ones I have in my library that might be my fault...maybe i didn't clearly say what I meant.. now if my request seems like its too much work for to little payoff, deny it....if its not worth your time, ignore it I know that the list of movie/TV shows might be a hassle to keep updating so It might not be feasable but it's only a suggestion..... thanks for your consideration Troy Bennett
