I would like the ability to disable the camera upload feature, both per-user and globally. It seems odd to me that that isn't already there as far as I can find... Sure I could just not use it, but that depends on trust that your other users wont decide to enable it, as the only on/off is in each users personal preferences.

Is downloading subtitles working for you? I have OpenSubtitles plugin installed. I have migrated my OpenSubtitles account from .org to .com I have entered my login details in the plugin settings but so far I have not managed to download even a single subtitle. I'm getting "No results found." message

Hi Could you add support for opensutitles.com since opensubtiles.org are blocking all users. Thanks. Jonas
-
It would be great if we could set a maximum number of failed login attempts within a certain time and then have that ip address blocked.

Guess I'm making it official FR: Could we please get parent TV show poster - or at least parent TV show thumb as it is done in Continue Watching Home Screen row - for TV episode playback session in Now Playing Dashboard section, as current implementation with episode thumb is neither informative nor visually appealing. Thanks

Completed Remember audio and subtitles selection per TV show
oopoub posted a topic in General/Windows
Hello here, this is my setup and it does not work : 3.8 on Android TV Nvidia shield. When I download and play a "next episode" it takes default values regardless the very same subtitle exists. -
Hi, I see 4.8 was released. I looked around all the menu options, can't seem to figure how how to share a playlist. I see the option to "Manage Collaboration", but that always defaults back to private even after changing it. Any advise? update: I see my mistake; I have to enable sharing in the user profile.

Completed Add support for new subtitle flags like "Hearing impaired"
FrostByte posted a topic in Feature Requests
Recently matroska and mkvtoolnix added support for additional subtitle flags including "Hearing impaired" for subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH). Request: Emby add some or all of the additional subtitle flags to media info and also as a choice for playback under user user settings. add support for external SDH subtitle naming (ex. moviename.SDH.eng.srt) Reason: my wife and are are getting older and it seems more and more I'm hearing "What did they say" a lot. If I could set certain Emby users to always play the "Hearing impaired" subtitles if available then I wouldn't have to back up and restart playback with SDH subtitles enabled. Other flags like "Commentary" would be nice also as I have several films with those Having this flag would also make it easier to run a script to list which movies have and don't have "Hearing impaired" / SDH subtitles so that I can go out and get the missing ones.- 56 replies

Completed Please add "Composers" to list of default screens
beckfield posted a topic in Feature Requests
In Settings > Home Screen, please add "Composers" to the options for Default Screen in Music libraries. I think this option would be popular among classical music enthusiasts. -
Anyone know if this is legit? It showed up in my Google Home app today as available to link. https://emby-google-home.herokuapp.com

Completed Increase height of subtitles or user feature to change position
ShoutingMan posted a topic in Feature Requests
I'm requesting a feature addition to Emby Theater: a way to change the vertical positioning of subtitles in Emby Theater. I want to raise them up about one line height. I'm comparing native playback of subtitled movies as discs in PowerDVD to MKV in Emby Theater. Emby theater positions the subtitles significantly lower in the screen than the disc playback does, about one full line lower. This worsens the overall experience. For a letterboxed movie like "Amelie", the subtitles fall across the letterbox boundary in Emby while they're within the movie frame natively. And in all cases (also seen in a 1.85 movie like "Kiki's Delivery Service") the subtitles are too close to the bottom of the screen, farther from the natural viewing location, making it a bit harder to read and watch simultaneously. If subtitle height can't be made a user preference, based on my sampling of four or five foreign language films, subs should be about one line height higher to match native Blu-ray playback. The Emby Theater setting is too low, from my small sampling. Thanks -
Completed Don't download subtitles for items with a .disc extension
crusher11 posted a topic in Feature Requests
Now that I've got Open Subtitles working, my server is filled with subtitles downloaded for my stubs. It's a stub, so of course it doesn't have subtitles, but the file that replaces it may or may not. It's pointless to download subs that might just end up getting deleted when a real video file replaces the .disc file. -
Completed Emby Convert - Convert to H265 & Replace Video Files
butch79 posted a topic in Feature Requests
Thank you for adding the convert feature I have been asking for for so long (my original request https://emby.media/c...l-media-to-mp4/) . I am not seeing an option to automatically convert to H.265. Converting to H.264 for 4K devices is not a good idea as H.264 is really only great for 1080p video. Unfortunately H.264 is also double file size of H.265. Can we get the option to convert to H.265 added? Is there a possibility to also have a feature for the converter where it replaces the media instead of just saving another copy of the data in the same folder with a different format? -

Completed Read more image formats for local artwork (webp)
olympus1 posted a topic in Feature Requests
Hi, I am a new Emby user and I can say I am impressed with it. I have been using Kodi for a long time and I rely to nfo files (it's my preferred choice for dealing with my media). Since Emby can't parse artwork from NFO files, I decided to give a try to local artwork. My problem now, my artwork is not in jpg and png files, I prefer it to be in webp format (smaller filesizes, massive savings especially in png files since png is lossless and huge in filesize). If I rename the webp artwork to png (for example poster.webp to poster.png) Emby reads and displays the webp artwork fine. So what I am requesting.. is it possible for Emby like Kodi does to read more image formats for local artwork and not only jpg and png? It's only an import issue, Emby imports and displays the webp artwork fine if I change the extension to png. Thank you in advance for any reply to my request Emby devs. -

One feature I've wanted on Plex for quite a long time is the ability to share a playlist with other Users or Guests and have it appear in their media players. Usage examples of this would curated lists of Music, Movies, etc. "Workout Playlist" "List of Movies I think you might like" "Top Simpsons Episodes" ..etc. If Playlist Sharing could have Parental Controls, we could block access using tags, allowing us to create Playlists for specific people.

Don't know how many of you know what PseudoTV is on Kodi but basically it is a plugin that allows you to create an EPG full of your own custom TV channels using your entire media library into one big channel surfing experience on your library. Emby, I believe, would be amazing for this and really make it stand out if something like this was official supported as the only support for something like this is a little plugin on Kodi. Features: Create custom TV channels using smart filters (e.g. 500 random movies that are from 2010 and newer and genre is Horror, 25 random tv episodes that are from Fox network). Allow creation of an unlimited number of channels using these filters and assign them channel numbers Automatically generate an EPG/TV Guide using all of these custom channels and randomly assign the scheduled program at a specific time Allow sorting of the channel shows (random, in order, asc, desc) Allow channels like FX to play both TV shows from FX but also incorporate movies at specific time periods like primetime movies Allow trailers to play in between shows as well as Channel Bumpers/intro videos Allow integration with Live TV using PVR Allow YouTube channels, USTVNOW, Playon perhaps? Ability to add a logo to your custom channels Background updating that would auto generate / update all the channels and shows after a specific period of time And so on

I have noticed there is no way to configure the path used by Auto-boxset pliuging to create folders to hold created collections. Given this is, by default, under the Data folder within the install folder of Media Browser server, and the fact this is on my SDD drive, it would be great if this folder may be overriden to a custom path (the way other folders may be configured via the Control Panel).

Apologies if this has been brought up before. I did a search through Feature Requests and the Web Client forum first and couldn't find anything directly related. I think it would be worth while to have instant replay (go back ~7-10 seconds) and skip forward (~30 seconds) buttons on the webclient play bar. I often times find myself using them on Emby Classic (MBC) because I missed a line or two of dialogue, and using the timeline to rewind in the web client often moves the player back much further than I need. Hopefully this request is already on your radar and I wasted my time posting this :-) If not, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Completed Emby Theater - Display Title, Duration and other Metadata Below the Selected Extra
funwithmedia posted a topic in Feature Requests
In addition to (but not contingent on) a related feature request ( https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/43845-emby-server-emby-theater-support-nfo-files-and-automatic-metadata-lookup-for-extras/ ), I recommend Emby Theater display the full Title, Duration and any other Metadata below the currently selected Extra using something along the lines of the UX pattern called "Thumbnail grid expanding preview". See the following for examples: https://tympanus.net/codrops/2013/03/19/thumbnail-grid-with-expanding-preview/ https://tympanus.net/Tutorials/ThumbnailGridExpandingPreview/ http://www.oriongunning.com/thumbnail-grid-expanding-preview/ http://www.oriongunning.com/demo/gridder/ While the current layout is clean and concise, it is not terribly helpful (in my opinion) in knowing what one is considering watching. As far as I can tell the only ways to get more details are to either start playing the item, or Ctrl-D to view Edit Info (neither of which is ideal when you're just browsing). I think that the "Thumbnail grid expanding preview" UX pattern is a decent route to go and in keeping with the general aesthetic of ET. Additionally, once the underlying code is built for this way of displaying data, there are potentially other uses for this UX pattern. One I can think of at the moment (which can be spun off to it's own feature request at some later point) would be to have items in "More Like This" respond this way, so that you get a mini-detailed view of some of the item metadata and then the option to click through to that item's page to actually play the item if desired. This would enable one to more quickly ascertain (without fully going to the item page) if they want to further explore that "More Like This" item or not. Regardless of additional uses (such as for "More Like This" items), I think that some sort of improvement is definitely needed for displaying the details of Extras, and the "Thumbnail grid expanding preview" UX pattern seems like a decent option to me. PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.- 7 replies

Completed Choose to get forced subtitles from OpenSubtitles

Please consider adding an option to the OpenSubtitles Settings page to get forced subtitles. They have recently added functionality in their API that identifies forced subtitles. See here: https://forum.opensubtitles.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15856- 9 replies
