Hallo, ich versuche meine Musiksammlung in Emby einzubinden. Ich habe 5 Alben einer Interpretin (Aaliyah) übernommen. Bei vier Alben wurde der Interpret korrekt übernommen, bei einem jedoch nicht. Bei dem Album "I Care 4 U" wird der Interpret nicht angezeigt, ebenso bei dem OST "Romeo must die", dort müsste "Various Artists" stehen. Eine manuelle Eingabe ist scheinbar nicht möglich. Unter Person eingegebene Daten werden nicht abgespeichert. Frage: Wo muss/kann der Interpret eingegeben werden? Ich finde den Wert auch nicht bei den Alben, bei denen der Interpret korrekt angezeigt wird. THX bkh

First, sorry for my poor English I have put some audio books with different embedded image in a "Books" library,those audio books have the same "artist" metadata. But It doesn't shows me the embedded image. It used one of the audio books's embedded image as it's artist image. And all the audio books shows the same artist image. How to make a audio shows it's embedded image instead of artist image?

The 'Add to collection' option on the 3-dot menu for a music artist appears to operate. However, when viewing the collection, the artists are not there. Adding an individual music album does work. Is this intentional, or is there a problem?

Dear Support, I have a minor but very annoying duplicate in my music for artist and album artist. This duplicate only exists within Emby and in all applications like server web, ipad, and emby for windows. The duplicate doesn't exist in plex, itunes or indeed Emby's metadata manager. The content of the two a-ha's below is the same. I can play all albums in each. The only difference is the path on one is appdata and not the media itself. The image is also different as you can see. I have tried to delete the appdata entry but it re-appears. No amount of sync or clean has worked. I have also tried to rename the A-Ha entry as I think this is the one that is wrong. All other items in my library are pointing to the media and not appdata. Thank you, Russ.

Gday Team Emby! I have an issue with Emby not displaying contributing artists within' the album view: Under an artist, the contributing artists are displayed correctly with all artists involved within' the track, but within' the album view, there's no mention of contributing artists. Sidenote: Same result in playback. Just the album artist showing - and even when there's multiple album artists, only one is showing. ARTIST VIEW: ALBUM VIEW: PLAYBACK VIEW: //Kenifyable

Sorry i know this has been answered before. I searched the forums and found users with the same problem, but i dont know if i should bring back an old post or make a new one. For recent added artists emby generates an artist.nfo under \Emby-Server\metadata\artists and the genre tag is missing when i check in the metadata manager. This is anoying specially when browsing a genre, these newly added artist wont show up. The option 'Save artwork and metadata into media folders' is ticked. When i move the .nfo manually to the artist folder seems to work, the artists pop under the genre in the music catalog. Im using version 3.2.17.0 Thanks in advance

Hello, I like the search function of Emby very much. However, if I search for i.e. "David Bowie", I find the person twice It's not a big deal, but when I clik on "Artist", I find some information (aprox 105 songs in my case), and if I click on "Person", I find other information.(1 movie and aprox 50 songs). What is the difference? Can I merge both information lists? It would be nice to have all the songs displayed in one list... kind regards, Bart

Is there a way to get the Android TV app to use the ARTIST tag for browsing instead of the ALBUM ARTIST tag? This is a feature that works remarkably well on the web app, and on the Android phone/tablet apps. For some reason however, I am not able to get the Android TV app to allow browsing by the artist tag. I understand that for many casual listeners out there this may seem like a trivial matter, but for music buffs (or in my case....music junkies), the difference between using an artist tag vs album artist tag can be pretty huge; especially, if you listen to genres of music where collaborations are a way of life. Please forgive me if this matter has already been brought up elsewhere (I tried a search but couldn't find it). Right now I have a "test" server that I'm using to work out the kinks and learn the system before setting up the final deal. Thanks in advance if there's someone out there that can point in the right direction!

Hi, On web interface, I currently have three Gardiners, just as the picture shows: On details page, first and second one shows "Classical" as genre, third lists as "Vocal". Sure, I have vocal and classical albuns with SJEG. So, how should I proceed to clean up this mess? Also, it would be a lot, very much useful indeed (and should I open a topic?), to be able to back to results page after checking details on one of the results.

I have many cases where I have musical artist who are also actors in movies. Right now there are two entries for these people which are not linked (e.g. going to the people entry does not show music / going to the artist entry does not show movies). It would be nice to have these two views of the same person merged. Some examples which I am aware of where this occurs: Christina Aguilera Common Justin Timberlake Prince T.I. will.i.am

People Views also exhibit this problematic symptom..eg abby eliott The two source entities which created these two objects are 'Abby Elliot' and 'Abby Elliott'... in this case the 2nd 'incorrect' person object 'Abby Elliot' came from a gueststars tag on a series.xml.... Unfortunately it is impossible to use MBS to find the offending tag/source object and correct... because 1. The person/artist object is shown as matched rather than as is...so searching for the incorrect value outside MBS is obfuscated..(although looking at the IBN entry/path can help) 2. clicking on both person objects in UI shows content for the same matched person on the fetcher...NOT...the content which precipitated the object. Clicking one of the objects..the object for 'Abby Elliott' should show 3 episodes of HIMYM where the actor is defined...and it does... Clicking on the other object ..the object for 'Abby Elliot' (also shown as 'Abby Elliott') should show 1 Series of HIMYM where the actor is defined. but it doesnt... its shows the previous / same as above... client 2.0.87 Gal S4 when scrolling down artists, if i hit a letter, it is registered/shows on screen, but i do not jump to the letter..i always jump to the same place towards beginning of sort order regardless of which letter i choose. anyone else seeing this? redshirt would you consider an option to show album artists rather than artists in the music view. personally its how i seek music 99% of the time.easier to find 1 in 500 rather than 1 in 7000. thanks for considering..

Hope someone can help here. I am using Musicbrainz picard to tag my music collection, but it doesn't appear to be adding the artists id or overview to the artists text file. Can someone tell me how to set this up in Musicbrainz Picard? Many thanks for your help

Go to metadata manager and change the primary image for the artist. Error as above.no folder.jpg in collection. It is odd that on first fetch MB3 handles the artist but cant handle manually fetching artwork from metadata manager.

Server: Version 3.0.5211.41935 OK, I'm getting confused and frustrated. I added an artist folder with an album. Search provides the following results for the new artist. The Music page displays the Artist as follows: When clicking on the O'Jays the following page is displayed: Then clicking on edit presents the following page: Then clicking on the first album folder presents the following page (note: no albums listed): This appears to be the structure of the folder item identified in the search. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ By clicking the "Artist" item identified in the search I get what I expect to see, first: bottom half of page: Clicking on edit presents the following page: When click on the first Album the following page presents: Conclusion: Everything would present as expected if the "folder" entry point did not appear on the "Music" page (or anywhere) and the "Artist" entry point did appear on the "Music" page. I have noticed that the "Path:" on the "Edit" pages are different. I have refreshed the music folder...no joy. I have restarted the server...no joy. I have deleted and readded the artist folder...no joy. What am I doing wrong?

Currently having an issue that I can't seem to figure out. I have an artist in my music folder with the structure: \Music Folder \Artist \Album 1 Song 1 etc \Album 2 \song 1 \etc In the metadata editor on the dashboard the name field for the artist is the name of one of the albums (can change between either if you clear the field and refresh), adding the artist ids in the relevant fields and refreshing does not correct this. Also there is no way to add album or artist ids to an album if you click on its name but you can if you click on a single track ? It seems the artist is being treated as an album as mb has dropped an album.xml in there but oddly when i had it refresh an album it dropped a folder.xml in there. I'm sure this is something I've done wrong but would appreciate a bit of help here. Server Version: 3.0.5238.39498 Client Version: Theater 3.0.5233.39319 Tracks are in FLAC format

Server Version 3.0.5211.41935 Issue with artist/people who go by initials...for example "T.I." or "B.G." There is already a naming issue regading directory naming...(i.e., directory name cannot end with a period; therefore, I have just dropped the last period, so "T.I." becomes directory name "T.I")...do you have better solution? I have recently noticed that these initialed names are being displayed (in MB and MBC) as the first initial only so..."T.I." ( directory name "T.I") becomes artist name "T" in MB and MBC. Editing and Saving the "Name" field for the Artist (in MB) doesn't seem to work (i.e., although edited and saved...the value does not change!?) NOTE: There is no artist.xml in the root directories for these "initialed artists". Refreshing (tried refreshing "Artist" and "Music") and saving changes does not create the requisite .xml. (anyway...can't send you respective artist.xml....can't create one!...is this helpful in isolating what the issue might be?)

Server, version 3.0.5083.27698 running on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 machine. I have been testing out Mediabrowser 3 with a selection of different music tracks. There are a few problems I have come across relating to how Album Artists/Artists are handled. Both the Album Artist and Artist tags for tracks by "Weird Al" Yankovic are written as "Weird Al" Yankovic for each track. The artist folder that contains the album folders and metadata is written as 'Weird Al' Yankovic since " cannot be used in file and folder names in Windows. Both the Album Artist and Artist tags for tracks by AC/DC are written as AC/DC for each track. The artist folder that contains the album folders and metadata is written as AC-DC since / cannot be used in file and folder names in Windows. In the Album Artists view: 'Weird Al' Yankovic - The artist image is not shown and neither are the numbers of albums or songs. AC-DC - The numbers of albums and songs are not shown, but the artist image is. This indicates to me that the folder name is being used instead of the information in the Album Artist tags which is not ideal in situations where different characters are used like these. In the Artists View: AC - shows one extra album and one extra song AC/DC - does not include extra album or extra song DC - shows one extra album and one extra song (the extra album and song it refers to is a track from the Last Action Hero soundtrack which has Various Artists written in the Album Artist tag) This indicates to me that the / in the Album Artist/Artist tags are confusing things somehow as entries called AC and DC are being created even though they do not exist at all in the music collection. They still point to the AC/DC albums, with the addition of the Last Action Hero track, but in the case of the AC entry, it has filled in a artist thumbnail image and description. Additionally, an entry for Various Artists shows up in the Artists view even though it is only used in the Album Artist tags of tracks for certain albums. There are 2 tracks from the Batman Forever soundtrack album in my music collection for testing. Browsing to Various Artists from the Artists view shows two versions of the album. Each one goes to one of the tracks which are both by different artists. The album is also duplicated like this in the Albums view. The file and folder naming convention I use is: D:\Music\Album Artist\Album\Disc 1/2/etc (if more than one disc)\Track Title.mp3 All tracks are tagged with Title, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Track Number, Album Artist and Disc Number (if more than one disc).
