    Roll back Emby Server

Is it possible to roll back EMby Server version to pre .net core version and get all the previous plugins back? Two main reason: Some plugins are not available Handling of live tv metadata after resume from sleep state is failing I perceive no end user improvement in performance with .net core (although there may be in the back end).
  3. When Emby deletes a file there is a 5+ second delay before the entry in Kodi is removed. This throws off anybody who doesn't understand they're waiting for the file to actually be deleted and a response to come back from the server. A better user experience would be to delete the Kodi entry immediately and let the user go on their way while Emby does it's thing in the background. Thoughts?
  4. If a new item is added to the database, currently I have to run the syncing theme media process manually after the Kodi sync completed. Is there a possibility to implement an auto trigger after syncing, during syncing or once a day?

    Music library external access

(there is going to be a whole bunch of questions issues from me now that I'm preparing my new setup including Emby) Only way I can make external access to work with music library is to do the initial sync from a external network. In plugin Beta 2.2.30 on Jarvis 16.1 I have the following settings: * Playback Mode: Addon * Enable Music library: On * Direct stream music library: On * Play from HTTP instead of SMB: On Movies and videos are fine whether on local LAN or external access. If I do a full reset and resync of the local database, the MyMusic56.db gets populated with paths using my LAN internal emby-server ip address like: http://192.168.0.5:8096/emby/Audio/e6c86.... These URLs are correct and I can successfully use my music library when inside my home LAN. However when outside my home network, emby for kodi fails to change the path to external IP of my server. Therefore the file fails to play. On the other hand, if I do a full reset and resync of the local database when outside my home LAN (but connected to the emby server), the MyMusic56.db gets populated with paths using the external ip like: https://my.dynamicdns.something:8920/emby/Audio/e6c86.... After that, the music library works regardless whether the Kodi device is in my local LAN or using external access. The biggest hassle is that in order to get the music to work both ways, I need to do the reset/full sync from a external network. With thousands of songs and slow connection this can take (unbearably) long time. In plugin 2.2.14 there was a workaround which consisted of not using "direct stream", but local paths, and the automatic failover to http direct streaming. At least I think that was what made it work back then. The library sync could be made within the home LAN and the music would still be playable when connected from external networks. A quick fix would be another option in music library sync settings like: Enable Music Libtrary: ON -Direct stream music library: ON -Use external https paths for musicl library: ON On the other hand, if I unclick "Play from HTTP instead of SMB", I can see (in the Kodi log) that Emby provides the direct SMB path even in the case when the MyMusic database is populated with http or https URLs. So optimally (and without additional manual option) Emby for Kodi should convert the internal network http://192....-adresses on the fly to https://my.dynamicdns.something:8920/..... when it detects that the client is not in the same network as the server. Just reporting. The current workaround is to do a full database reset from an external network. There is a SSL problem with the mono/ubuntu server (I'll report it in the appropriate section separately) which makes this unreliable. You people are doing a superb job with this Emby-Kodi combination! Andy777
  6. In all of the latest testflight versions the setup button doesn't work. In the stable release its ok. I use it a lot to go to the server settings.
  7. Version: Emby 3.0.5986.0 / emby beta 3.1.68 Since upgrade to 3.0.5986 the series/film list doesn't show. In the beta version it works but it takes like 50 seconds. Hope you can find whats causing this Server log: http://pastebin.com/hXV2aGyv
  8. Hello guys, I use emby for kodi (v2.2.10) on 3 clients with kodi jarvis (v16.1) in the house and it works very flawless. It's my greatest kodi addon. Thank you for all the hard work you investigated. The emby server (v3.0.5972.0) is installed on a debian jessie 8.4 (openmediavault3). In the past I used 3 windows clients with kodi as the frontends. Now I changed my main htpc in the living room to an odroid c2 with libreelec as the os. After installing the "emby for kodi" addon and configuring the addon per assistent, it's not possible to play mp3s within kodi on libreelec. The following path substitutions work fine for my windows clients: /mediatank/movies -> \\mediatank\movies /mediatank/music -> \\mediatank\music Besides I don't need to configure the "network credentials" in the "emby for kodi - settings" under windows. For my libreelec I have to configure the network credentials and I have to change my path substitutions to following manner: /mediatank/movies -> \\10.11.11.11\movies /mediatank/music -> \\10.11.11.11\music It's not possible to get the mp3s to play without these settings. DNS resolution works fine on the libreelec client. If i ping the server, I get the following output on the command line: LibreELEC:~ # ping mediatank PING mediatank (10.11.11.11): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 10.11.11.11: seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.750 ms 64 bytes from 10.11.11.11: seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.849 ms I checked it with with both playback modes: Addon(Default): only the movies workes as expected, mp3s didn't play Native(Direct paths): movies and mp3s didn't work because of an inexistent path With the playback mode Addon(Default) I got this kind of errors in the kodi log: 00:19:24 T:547635171328 ERROR: Open - failed to open source <musicdb://albums/135/25.mp3?albumid=135> 00:19:24 T:547635171328 ERROR: Init: Error opening file musicdb://albums/135/25.mp3?albumid=135 00:19:24 T:547635171328 ERROR: CAudioDecoder: Unable to Init Codec while loading file musicdb://albums/135/25.mp3?albumid=135 00:19:24 T:547635171328 WARNING: PAPlayer::QueueNextFileEx - Failed to create the decoder So, at the moment everything is fine for me But why differs the configuration of the "emy for kodi" addon between libreelec and windows? It costed a lot of my lifetime to find this out. Greetings Hoppel

  10. After updating to latest stable release emby for WMC on xbox asks for reconnect and when selecting manual and ready to enter i.p no auto onscreen keyboard is presented so can not enter I.p
  11. Just installed this server version on ubuntu and now i can't play mp4 files anymore. Mkv's are still working. Is this due to the update?
  12. Hi everyone, is it possible to have multiple emby servers connected with the emby kodi plugin? I have a local emby server at my house and i want to connect to a friends emby server. Is that possible? Thanks for your help, crispyman
  13. Would it be possible to add an option for "Import Music Song Rating Directly From Files" to the wizard or perhaps default it off, it really slows down the initial import and I'm sure not everyone uses this feature, I know I don't

Save state between Movie / TV sync?

Is it possible to add something that remembers where the sync has got to when a full sync is run? running a full sync on a raspberry pi with a large library, if movies finishing syncing and there is a crash, restart, powercut etc when its syncing TV, upon a reboot it will go back to the beginning and resync movies.

    scripting resets

OK, no idea if this is possible or even someone beyond me would consider. But, I was hoping to better the update process. Right now, when kodi updates in the middle of the night, it is usually good to go. However, there are times I know I need a DB reset because things are not working, such as videos updating or resuming, etc. I restart kodi and bam, emby needs a db reset. If the process was 2 seconds sweet, but it isnt. More like 5-10 and if you have music, forget it, WAF is low when having to wait. So, whether it is possible or not, is there a way to call a script or heck, even a cron job that resets the db, even nightly if it wants, just to avoid the wait when you are sitting down for a movie? If not, fine, but it was a thought. My issue is that I am running Rpi and cubox, so they are always on. the DB prompt is on a reboot when things are acting up. However, if I can say reset DB on upgrade automatically at 4am, problem solved, right?

    [Optimization] EmbyKodi

To hold it short Add the option to delay (maybe 5/10/15/20/30 seconds) the sync/incremental sync process. In my case, the RPi2 sends a WakeOnLan package to the NAS (Debian -Openmediavault - emby-server plugin) to wake up (needs round about 10 seconds) Problem: I get the message, that "the server is unreachable" (of course, yes), after 10 seconds i get the message "Welcome none" (no that´s not the acc name and additionally the welcome message is disabled!) The sync process is working fine after that, just cosmetic. Additional, low power platforms like the rpi may benefit of this (heavy load - other script/skins/progams at startup) Great plugin so far, keep up the good work (and support)!
  17. I've been attempting to setup Emby behind a reverse proxy (nginx) and have encountered a few problems with the Kodi plugin (my nginx setup works fine using a web browser). A serious problem that breaks support for some reverse proxy setups is that the plugin is inconsistent in how it attempts to access the server. For example: Accessing user data uses the path /mediabrowser/Users Accessing show data uses /Shows Accessing the API key uses /?api_key This inconsistency means that you're required to proxy the root directory of the web site to the root directory of the emby server in order for things to work. Having the plugin use a consistent relative path: /emby/Users /emby/Shows /emby/?api_key etc would allow for proper reverse proxying of subdirectories (without breaking existing setups that proxy the root directory) instead of dedicating the whole web site just to emby. Relevant snippet of my nginx.conf for proxying the emby subdirectory: location /emby/ { proxy_pass http://emby.wired.lan.example.org:8096/emby/; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-By $server_addr:$server_port; proxy_redirect off; proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header Connection "upgrade"; }
  18. Wndows 10 Kodi 15.2 Emby Server (Windows): 3.0.5781.0 Emby For Kodi: 1.1.57 I have "subscribed" to some TV Shows via the Genesis addon. Subscribing will download strm to your library directory. When I delete a show from my library: context menu > manage > remove I get the "Confirm Delete - Delete file on Emby Server?" for each strm file in my library directory How can I disable the confirmation prompt for each strm file?
  19. Will it be possible that the Cinema mode will be able to work with the Emby Addon for Kodi. With the new plugin it no longer functions.
  20. I've only just noticed this, none of my music albums are showing fanart background images. I've checked on two Kodi machines connected to Emby with the add-on. Machine #1: Windows 7 Kodi v15 Emby add-on v1.1.16 Xperience1080 skin v4.1 (for Isengard) No fanart image displayed for albums: Machine #2 Apple iMAC OSX Yosemite v10.10.3 Kodi v14.2 Emby add-on v1.1.16 Xperience1080 skin v3.50.05 (for Helix) No fanart image displayed for albums: However on Machine #3 OpenElec v5.0.8 (Linux) Kodi v14.2 Xperience1080 skin v3.50.05 (for Helix) Connected to MYSQL I do have fanart images for albums showing fine as you can see. At first I thought it was something to do with the Xperience1080 skin, but as its working on the main HTPC and not on the two Kodi / Emby PCs maybe its something with the Emby integration? In fact if I switch all 3 machines to the default Confluence skin, only the OpenElec HTPC connected to MYSQL shows album fanart images. The other two Kodi PCs connected to Emby still do not show them, so its not skin related in my opinion. OpenElec HTPC connected to MYSQL with Confluence Skin Windows 7 connected to Emby with Confluence Skin No fanart image displayed for albums: iMAC connected to Emby with Confluence Skin No fanart image displayed for albums: I have not ran the "Cache all images to Kodi texture cache" on the mac but I did run that earlier on the Win7 PC. Also I am not aware of any Kodi setting that affects the fanart images for albums. But worth noting --- on the two Kodi PCs connected to Emby, the music artists are showing background fanart images fine, as you can see on this screen shot from the Windows 7 PC, so why not for albums? I'm not sure. Sorry for all the screen shots I wanted to be thorough. Please add this to the snag list to be looked at. Many thanks.
  21. I'm running the latest stable openelec on an Rpi2. I'm using the latest stable Kodi plugin (1.0) and the server component is running on Windows. Everything is brilliant however i have 1 niggle.. I like to control my Genre's for each movie and so i spent a long time reducing them all to 1 (i know there is a plugin but i have the files manually sorted in to folders so i wanted them to reflect the folder names). If i remove X number of Genre's and then add a new one.. the library's on the Pi's are updated pretty quickly and there it is in the new genre.. however it doesn't ever remove it from the old Genre (kodi end) Emby server is looking nice and neat but the local DB is left a mess... Any suggestions? Edit : Just as a note, if i do a full clear and re-sync of the DB on KODI, then it sorts itself out.. but that's obviously not ideal.. I have to edit the metadata once Emby has already added it to the kodi library (as it's so awesomely quick ) so every time i'd have to destroy the DB and full sync it.
  22. Just installed the Emby Beta plugin for Kodi and it's quite useful, but one thing is missing right now. My library is set up into three folders on my NAS. Movies, TV and Mixed movies/tvs (documentaries folder) What I'm seeing right now when I sync over to Kodi is the "Mixed movies and TV" Movies are getting synced up to Kodi, but the TV bits are not. Shows up fine in the web client/server but not in the kodi plugin. Anyone come across this problem before? Using 3.0.5607.0 with Emby 0.1.7 on the newest Kodi isengard beta on Android.

    Resume

Hello I am not sure how to address this issue. Resume is always seen as a round number; that is to say if I stop the video at say 28:20 it resumes at 28:00 which is not a problem. But if I stop at say 28:45 it resumes at 29:00 which is a problem because it has progressed 15 seconds. I would appreciate any help with fixing this. Thanks.

    Emby for Kodi delete file

I use kodi as a watch then delete type of thing. Before the new addon I used WebDAV to do it, and could always just hit delete and have the "Remove from Library > Remove File" option. With the new addon though, I only get the library removal, and it leaves the file. Is this a current limitation of the HTTP feature, or is there something I missed? I thought I read it was possible in a thread, but can't find or remember it.
  25. I was just curious if it was intentional to not allow movies to be deleted the same way shows can. If so, what is the reasoning? I added " or "movie" " to the monitor file, and have had no issues so far. Is there a risk with doing this that I've not thought of? Thanks for the great work, btw. The latest stuff has been fantastic.
