  1. Hi, I am modifying the custom CSS in a server and i can see these changes in the web browser. But, the emby app for android doesn't respect the custom CSS which I had modified in a server. There any way to modify the custom css for the android app? Thanks.

    Amazon Fire TV

Amazon has released the Fire TV. I see that Plex is already listed there. Will the Fire TV be able to control the Mediabrowser app in the Amazon store? I already have, and use, this on my Kindle Fire HDX. This would make the Fire TV a killer box. Will there be a way to keep it from transcoding? This box has a lot of horses under the hood. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CX5P8FC?ref_=sr_tr_1&qid=1396454562&sr=8-1&keywords=kindle&pldnSite=1

    Not grouping collections

I have my user set to group collections together. This works when using emby for wmc but when using the android app it does not respect the setting. I have verified the setting in the app as well.
  4. Hello, I changed my Android Wifi IP address subnet and now the Android asks to re-register for Premiere (I am using Live-TV) but I have purchased 1yr!? Is this normal? I think this a real odd behaviour...and I don't want to have this thing poping up when changind some network settings...

  6. I have a ton of FLAC that I'd like Emby to stream to my Android device and it's unclear how it's transcoding it. I'd like to be able to: Specify the audio codec used to stream audio to my device. E.g. if I have a tablet with a beefy battery, I'd like to stream Opus, which is a more efficient codec but unsupported by my device's hardware codec. If I'm on my phone I'd like to stick to a safe codec supported by my hardware like AAC or MP3. Specify the bitrate. E.g. if I'm on WiFi, send me the original. If I'm not, cut it down to 128kbps.
  7. Hi I've both a first gen and second gen Chromecast. Neither are visible on the device list when clicking the cast button within the app, only 'My device'. Other castable apps on my phone have no problem seeing the Chromecasts. Please advise?

    User Interface Issues

Hi, I've some UI issues with the Emby Android app: Android: 5.1.1 (on OnePlus 2) and 5.1.1 (on Xoom, OmiROM) Emby: 3.0.5821.0 The naitve UI of the app fails to display many kind of content. 9. Hello all, I'm having an issue with the android app. When I try to connect to my server over HTTPS I get a connection failure error. If i switch to HTTP it works. HTTPS was working fine three-four days ago, when I installed the certificate on the phone. I've tried with the domain and the IP, both don't work. How should I proceed? App version: 2.5.55 Server version: 3.0.5781.5 Server OS: Ubuntu
  10. Hello everyone, Has anyone succeded in using Android app (Emby Connect) to connect to Emby via HTTPS port (internal network or internet)? I got my ports configured in a way that only HTTPS work, and HTTP is blocked to everyone, for security reasons. I can connect to Emby via WebClient (browsers) or Emby Theater (Windows) with no problem via HTTPS, using the 8920 port locally or some other port-forwarded to 8920. But when I try to use Android Emby Connect, using the same parameters, it never works. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

  12. Hi, it seems with the last couple of betas of Emby for Kodi my Kodi library now no longer auto/background updates/syncs. My Nvidia Shield is always left on with Kodi running (sleep/shutdown disabled). My NAS is also always on and media files are regularly auto copied to the monitored Library folders within Emby. It was previously working in the past with the Kodi library updating almost instantly when Emby was updated with new content. The Emby web interface does appear to update in real time whenever new files are added, but Kodi now no longer auto/background updates/syncs the library - unless a user initiated manual sync or Kodi itself is manually restarted. Whenever a new Beta version of Emby for Kodi is updated, I always do a manual entire library reset on Kodi to ensure the local database has the newest updates. As this issue recently started happening, I just performed a complete uninstall of Kodi on my Nvidia Shield and re-installed and re-setup Emby for Kodi Beta on Kodi Jarvis 16.0 Beta 5 (in case something was corrupted on my setup). Unfortunately this did not resolve the issue as auto/background library updates/syncing still are not occurring. My setup: Emby Linux Mono Version 3.0.5785.0 (running on Asustor AS 7010T x64 running latest v2.5.1 linux firmware) Emby for Kodi Sync Queue on Emby Server version 1.0.5782.13378 Emby for Kodi Beta 1.1.72 Kodi Jarvis 16.0 Beta 5 for Android (running on Nvidia Shield Android TV v2.1) Vanilla Kodi install, running standard Confluence skin with only a couple of simple other addins: Oz Weather, HD Homerun & Multicam (view security cameras) plugins Wired ethernet network The below two media files were recently updated in the Emby Library. They appeared on the Emby web interface immediately, however they did not auto/background update/sync to the Kodi library until I manually restarted Kodi and it performed its standard startup scan: The Fifth Element (1997).m2ts was changed around 2016-01-15 10:39 Heroes Reborn_S01E12_Company Woman.mkv was changed around 2016-01-15 12:05 Logs: No auto/background library updates/sync Kodi log during the time these files were added: http://xbmclogs.com/prvxsh9na Emby Server Log during the time these files were added: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hjjrakm70brk3w5/server-63588426305.txt?dl=0 After Kodi restart Logs: Kodi manually restarted and Emby for Kodi Beta performed the startup scan & then detected new these files: http://xbmclogs.com/p0obfwkhg Emby Server Log during the time Kodi was restarted and startup scan ran: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qo4js18nf9evbur/server-63588426305-post-restart.txt?dl=0 Thanks for your help and let me know if you need any further information.

    App will not open?

My emby app will not open. I'm running v 4.1.2. I can not upgrade the operating system it will not allow me.
  14. I am having issues playing 3D movies in 2D mode, i still get side by side when i play using the kodi 16 beta 4 on android. i have tried on android tv and samsung galaxy Note 3 and both have the same issue, i have made sure that the file is direct playing and it works on windows 10 Kodi. Kodi recognises the file as 3D content and asks if i want to play in 3D or 2D, 3D works perfectly but when choosing 2D the interface stays in 2D but the video is playing side by side. any help would be greatly appreciated. i have checked the logs and have seen no errors, it shows the SMB address it is playing from.
  15. Let's Encrypt offers free automated SSL certificates that are valid for 3 months. They can then be automatically renewed without any user interaction. https://letsencrypt.org/ I would like to see this implemented as either a plug in or natively in emby server to solve the issues with using https specifically with the android and Chromecasts but also the media browser. This would allow easy to use signed and valid https connections and would take the hassle out of renewal every 3 months.
  16. When I try to play a .m2ts MVC Remux (FSBS) in WebClient or Android App, I get an error and ffmpeg exits with an error code. The behaviour I expected is that the Clients above just play the 2D stream part, like e.g. Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player do. I cannot say if it's the same behaviour in iOS, since I do not own such a device. Attached are Server and Transcoding Logs + the File MediaInfo Cheers guys and Happy Holidays m2ts.zip

    Transcode yes, transcode no

Hi, i did an interesting test tonight. When playing an mp4 (1280x720) on my android, it runs nice and smooth and no transcoding takes place. If i try to run the exact same movie on my desktop via firefox, it starts jumping and not play smoothing. I see that the transcode folder has an webm file while playing in the browser but not when playin on the android. REducing the bitrate in the web browser doesn't help. Why does Emby think it needs to transcode in web client (21" screen on pentium i5 3Ghz) and not in android (samsung galaxy 10"). THe server is install on DELL POweredge (quite old with pentium 4 2.8 Ghz and 0.5 GB ECC RAM). Any thoughts on possible reasons and what I can do to stop transcoding when not necessary? Emby for Kodi won't install on Android

Hi, Just installed Kodi on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6, Android 5.1.1). I enable the downloaded repo (version 1.0.2), Tap "Kodi Emby Addons" and then "Video Add-ons" and "Emby", then when I tap "Install" nothing happens at all. Add-on version is 1.1.60. Any ideas? This should work, right? Hans Petter
  19. Environment Details: client version: 2.5.47 and 2.5.48 (verified issue on both versions) server version: 3.0.5781.5 device: Droid Turbo (OS Version: 5.1) Description of Problem: When navigating through "Movies" content the view stack loses position... and returns the user to the "Suggestions" tab. Steps to reproduce: kill app open app select any movie content category select the "MOVIES" tab select any movie in the library (opens details page) From the 'Details >> Links" section, select "Website" wait for the built-in browser to load the web page select back (as expected, the UI is now on the movie detail page, from step 5) select back again EXPECTED RESULT: UI should go to "MOVIES" tab ACTUAL RESULT: UI is now on the SUGGESTIONS tab WORKAROUND: killing and re-opening the app, is the only way to recover the expected navigation behavior. Once reset, the navigation works as expected, until opening a link (i.e., step 6)

    Cant connect to server

I have Emby server installed on my win7 machine in the bedroom. I use to be able to connect to it via my android app on my phone and watch shows and listen to music at work. Now I cant connnet to it. it says that connection failed and check server. I've installed ET on my wifes laptop to hook up to the tv in the lounge room and i cant connect the lap top to it either it says the same thing. server is running can watch everything on my machine in the room. i connect via emby connect comes up to server choice which is only the one i click on that and thats when it fails
  22. I have purchased the Android App for Emby and installed it on my Samsung Galaxy S5. It does work, but within a day of installing, I start to get warnings about low memory. I have a 64 GB micro SD card on the phone, but the app insists on placing all its program and cache data in the built-in storage area, which is "only" 16 GB.. After a day or so of very light usage, I start to see low memory warning. The Emby app is the culprit. It is using over half of the built-in storage memory. Clearing the cache and restarting the app does not fix the problem. I've also tried disabling the app and clearing the cache. The low memory problem reappears shortly after I restart the App, even if I've not viewed streaming content.. Is there some setting that I need to change on the Emby server? It appears that the server may be syncing content that I have no intention of watching on the phone. I have uninstalled the App until this problem can be fixed.Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Problem with Music

Originally my music worked great in Emby. For about a month now, and through multiple upgrades (beta & public), I've had a weird issue with the Android Client & the Web Client: If I go the the Albums page under Music, everything is there If I go through the albums page by page, everything is there If I use the letters on the side to jump to a particular letter, the page comes up blank I'm currently using Emby Server v3.0.5781.1 on a 64bit Windows 7 box and running Android Client Beta: v2.4.30 on Galaxy Tab S with Android 5.0.2 (this also happened with Android Client Public: v2.4.13). I've included a couple of logs from my Android client and my server log. I think I tried running tests from the Android client around 8:20 this morning and from the web client around 11:20 this morning. e07aad41-260b-485d-8753-6aecf2807ece.log fc1f30bc-8777-464d-a76f-b2d81270c0b1.log server-63582624000.txt

May be transcode problem but ...

Hi, installed Emby last night as I want to replace Plex (don't like closed source). Quite impressed up to now although still haven't managed to see one film yet. Can't see film in web client or android client, both saying "There was an error playing the video.".Music plays correctly. Emby Version 3.0.5781.0 with ffmpeg version 0.8.17-6:0.8.17-1 (basically a fully updated Debian Wheezy to a few minutes ago) Now, this I think it's a transcode problem as I see "Unrecognized option 'codec:v:0'" in the transcode log (see below). One thing that I did like of Plex is the "Direct streaming" option which i think Emby doesn't have. It tries to transcode even videos that are not transcoded on Plex (I have Plex also running on the same machine). Am i correct in thinking that there is no direct streaming with Emby? Thanks Antonio TRANSCODE LOG (also attached) 25. Hi I'm using Emby Server (latest), Kodi 15.1 and the latest Emby for Kodi plugin form https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Kodi , and in my Android Device I'm using Yatse (latest version). If I add my library in Kodi using the Emby plugin, all works fime in Kodi, but when I go to my device in Yatse, I can´t stream locally any media to my device. I can only use Yatse like a remote control to play my medias in my Kodi. But if I add my media to Kodi through the normal method (choosing folder, add to collection, etc), I can use Yatse to stream my media to my device. I wonder why this difference, because apparently in my Kodi, my media is shown in the same manner, using Emby for Kodi or not. Where was the problem? The problem would be in Yatse or the problem would be in Emby for Kodi? What can be done to use Emby for Kodi and use Yatse in my device to make stream locally to my Androide device ? Thank you for your attention
