Hello My android tv, box tv, is with android version 4.4.2 Where can I download the app for this version of android? I try to install by the appstore but it says that the version is not compatible with the device that I have. Where can I download old versions? Thank you

Emby automatically switches to the next audio (although still reporting being on the first, watch video below). ALL video files with all other combinations described below work seamlessly (included single and dual MP3 audios): Dual AAC + AAC Dual AC3 + AAC Dual AC3 + AC3 Dual MP3 + MP3 !!! Single MP3 !!! Single AAC I tested approximately 70 video files to substantiate these claims. Considering this obvious relationship from the beginning, I did not analyze other variables that could be also common to all files where the problem was manifested. Hi y'all! First of all, i have to say thank you for the last big update in the app and your hard work. It is a big step. Awesome job! However, the look and feel looks cheapy in some parts, and maybe can be worked with little touches to get a better professional look. Emby is becoming in one of the most important developments in the XMBC category. Transparency: What i ask is main transparency option. This is with the intenttion that nevermind the theme you choose, you can have the option to choose transparency in the box sets and movie/series primary posters. I now this can be applied on Android environment , what i don't know if it is a lot of work. I'm not professional designer of profession but i'm working for many years with images for web design, logos, etc. Everybody wants can do your pesonal touch at the movie collection/series, with their own main posters, backdrops, etc. In fact, Emby give us to the premier users access to plugins how Cover Art. It comes with different type of "masks" for the main posters. The problem is that if you choose some rounded cover it keep the color background of the theme, depends of the theme can be random color or one color only. I have my personal box sets in my collection made by me in .png format to get that transparency, the problem is that they look bad because the background used by any theme for the primary poster or box set collection. Collections: In this section, on the Android TV APP, when you click over the collection, all information about that collection is not showed. Primary poster, description, tittle collection,etc. Nothing. The only thing that you can get is the movie list. For me, this has no sense, since when you create the collection in the web environment on the server, he pull the Primary art, backdrop and, in some cases the logo art for that collection, and in the worst scenario you can add whatever art you want. In the server/web environment, if you click over any collection, you can see all details of any collection with the artwork that you choose. That not happend in the Android TV APP. Android TV: Confirmed bug on both 1.5.83g (beta) and 1.5.66g If I'm within 10sec of the end of a TV show and I click the right/skip button to skip the credits (or spoilers for next weeks episode), it REWINDS back to -10sec before the end of the show. So if there are 5secs left and I right click to skip ahead to the end (so the next episode will start), it rewinds so there are 10secs left. If I keep clicking right it will just keep jumping back, in an infinite loop.

Hallo, I'm using the Android TV app (latest version from Play Store) on a Minix U9-H Android box using a Bluetooth remote control (cursor keys, enter, esc, Play/Pause ...). I configured a Library for my tvheadend recording files (as someone in the forum has suggested) - and my problem is: When using the Android TV app, I only get to see thumbnails for my recordings and I have to move over every single item to see the titles of these recordings. My question is: Is it possible to add a "list view" option to the Android TV app, kind of like the list view in the web app? Or better just a list of recording titles and next to it the picture + details only for the active title. That would be great! Thank you in advance! Regards, Anna

Hi, I am long time Emby server user and I really enjoy using it, but have been using Kodi as a Client till today. Bought a Shield TV, so wanted to use the native App, especially since now Themes are supported. I really like the Windows Media Center theme, but I would like to have the option everywhere only to show the Theme backdrop and not the Item Backdrop. That is already possible while browsing, but not in the details screen. That option would really reduce that busy look compared to when backdrops are shown. Furthermore I would love the option to hide the initial side bar, when opening the App on the left side, as all the content is anyway displayed on the right side. That would make the Windows Media Center Theme look really close to the original look with the modern touch of Android. Appreciating any feedback from the developers. Hi, I have an 2017 nVidia Shield connected directly to my stereo TV. For Audio, I have a pair of Sennheiser Headphones (TR195) which accept a digiital PCM signal... Is there any way in which I can enforce Audio encoding from DD, DTS etc to PCM? Either from the App or the Server will do. At the moment everything is encoded/decoded to Stereo and I wanted to see if audio is improved - maybe surround sound? via PCM. thanks

The Android TV app does not record the login information. Every time I open the application, I have to enter the login. Can you register automatically? I am having a couple of playback problems on my philips android tv, using emby for android tv. It has worked well for a long time, but recently the server has started transcoding due to a not supported bitrate, that I think have worked well earlier. Even more recently, I cannot play the video at all. I attached a log, where I can see that a null reference error is thrown when I try to start the playback of vikings season 5 episode 1: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at MediaBrowser.Model.Dlna.StreamBuilder.GetVideoDirectPlayProfile (... I am getting the same error for all other videos as well. Hey Guys, I am thinking about buying a Sony Bravia XE9005 TV. It has Android TV and Chromecast built in. I am currently using a connecion from Computer to TV with Emby media for windows and I have always liked that with the Chocolate theme. What are the options for player etc? I am not a coder so I could not begin to create any themes sadly.

Hi i am having problems with Emby for android i am running a Emby server with the latest server software Version 3.2.70.0 and i was running Emby for android V2.9.86 but found that the tv guide was very very slow to load and it would cause the device to freeze then crash so i uninstalled that one and installed V2.9.07 the tv guide works fine but this one has other problems like if you set the quality to anything other than Direct it would most of the time just not play the tv channel it will just go back to the previous screen. so i tried Emby android TV v1.5.32g problems with the tv guide plus you can't change audio track it will just crash on you, and it would be nice if it loaded/changed tv channels faster like it does when you enable the VLC player with it. all in all not so good now i know that with all the changes made to the server software the apps are going to play up but if i could just get one to work properly would be a start and any news on when the next server update will be out for windows ? apart from that thank you for a great job (most of the time ) just kidding Dallier

Android TV -- this bug report comes from a discussion started here. Scenario: - I have the 30min auto-logoff feature enabled (to allow my TV to go to sleep if content was left paused) - I'm watching a movie/TV show and have it paused near the end (say 96%) - When the auto-logoff feature kicks in it will stop playback which will trigger Emby server to erroneously mark it as watched The only available solution to this bug currently is to disable Emby from marking content as watched unless it's played through to 100% (which is undesirable). Proposed Solution: Whenever playback is stopped, the event sent to the server should indicate if playback was stopped by the user or not (ie "user initiated"). If this value/flag is missing the server can treat the event as user-initiated (so that this feature can slowly be rolled out to all clients). When the server receives a playback stopped event that was NOT user-initiated (such as due to the auto-logoff feature, or an idle timeout feature), the server will save the progress exactly as reported and not make any changes to the watched status (ie the server will only apply the automatic mark-as-watched feature when playback was stopped by the user).

Hallo, I'm using Emby 3.2.50.0 together with tvheadend 4.2.3 on a Debian Linux server. I've subscribed to Emby Premiere to test it before buying the lifetime pass I managed to connect these two via the Emby Plugin "TVHclient" 1.1.1.0. For watching my media, I'm using the Android TV app (from the Play Store) on a Minix U9-H Android Box. My problem is: When watching TV recordings (via "Live TV" => "recordings") the recordings start, but when I want to seek forward or backwards, I only get the message "Unable to seek". The recordings are stored as H.264 + AAC files on the tvheadend server (profile "webtv-h264-aac-matroska"). As the better integration of tvheadend is my main reason for switching from Plex to Emby: How can I configure Emby and/or tvheadend to make the recordings seekable? By the way: When using the normal Android App for Emby on a Moto Z Play phone, the recording does not even start. I notice that the server starts transcoding (at least the CPU usage rises a lot), but the screen does not show anything. But as the Android TV app is more important, let's focus on this first. I finally switched to using Emby (on a Mi Box Android TV) as my primary TV instead of Kodi! The Mi Box has no dedicated play/pause button so you have to use the main select/enter button instead. It works fine except the On-Screen Display appears every single time I pause playback! I'm able to access those OSD controls with either the UP or DOWN buttons so I'd really really like to disable it from showing every time I pause. I assuming the devs don't want to make this the default, so could we just add an extra option in the settings menu? "Don't show on-screen controls when paused" I could probably deal with a much less robust OSD appearing (like Netflix does), but I figured just adding this optional setting would be much quicker to develop. This is all I want for Christmas :-)

So right now if I choose to play in external player, it only recognize it as 'stream', makes it impossible to easily search for subtitle in MX Player. Is it possible for it to pass the filename to MX Player so it can search subtitle properly? Thanks

I'm having a lot of trouble with a new Xiaomi Mi Box (Android TV) -- the app is very unstable on this device (which is weird since I rarely have issues on my Shield or Fire TV). It crashes so frequently the app isn't really usable. I have NOT submitted a crash report from within the app yet, but I did do the built-in Android "Report" that happens after a force close ("Emby isn't responding."). It was submitted around 2017-10-19 19:55 MST (Pacific Daylight) -- are you able to look at that report for debug information? I'll get a report sent from within the app in the next day or so.

Also wasn't sure where to file this as you'll see: My set up is: Emby server running on a NAS: QNAP TS-453A The media library is on the RAID5 volume on the same NAS (excuse me if my terminology on raid/volumes isn't right) I have a Sony Android TV and use the Android App to browse and view my Emby Library The TV and NAS are plugged into a local switch via LAN cables (or alternatively plugged TV in to the NAS which has a virtual switch capability) The setup works fine, the issue I am having is that the sound isn't continuous, every once and a while there is a short gap. It doesn't get out of sync, it just sticks for a fraction of a second and then carries on, the picture seems fine. This is irritating, it would happen a half dozen times during a 22min show, for example. I checked the NAS CPU usage and it's not high, I've tried the TV LAN cable into a local switch and into the back of the NAS virtual switch and this doesn't make any difference. Its as if the sounds isn't being buffered far enough into the future and then refreshes when it gets stuck. Any ideas on any settings I need to look at on the Emby server (or maybe the NAS or TV)? Luke is there any chance of having more control over how things look on MiBox or Android Tv? it just looks plain and not a lot of options to change how it looks. Or am i asking for to much,i no you hands and plate full. thanks

Hi, I don't know if this issue is related to Emby or Android TV. My TV is a Sony (KD-55X8505C) and I'm totally happy with the picture quality in general. Last week I've tried to play some HDR videos in Emby and I'm having some strange behaviour. When I play an HDR video I got perfectly black pixels within the video itself but when the video is 21:9 the black bars at the top and bottom are grey. Unfortunately it's not possible to check the picture settings as the playback stops when opening the actions menu of the Sony TV. Netflix doesn't have this issue - Amazon not tested yet. Anyone else struggling with this issue? Regards matze276

I recently bought a pretty nice Android TV mini-computer. I did so with the intention of running Emby Server on it. I want to build the server here, then I plan on relocating it to a different location once it is completed and functional, along with the USB hard drives that will contain the movie files.. I am struggling to figure out how to do that... I searched the Google Playstore for "Emby Server for Android TV". It showed an app called "Emby for Android TV". I assumed it was exactly what I wanted, so I downloaded and installed the app on my new box. It installed fine, but doesn't appear to be the Emby Server, but rather an Emby client that looks for an Emby Server to connect to. Is there an actual Emby Server for Android TV application out there somewhere? I cannot find it anywhere. I also have a large Windows 10 box running Emby Server. This is my main Media PC for our home. We have 3 TV's, each with their own Kodi box accessing the Emby movie library. The actual movies are located on a NAS. I only mention this primary Emby Server because I don't want its existence to hinder the building out of the new Emby server that I'm trying to establish. Sony TV has automatically updated to KODI 17. For some reason TV shows are not merging together in my kodi library on this tv although series are appearing merged in emby server and on my other android tv running kodi 16.1. In my TV library on the emby server I have a path directed to files on a mycloud and a local file path on the computer. I have reinstalled emby add on in KODI 17 but no luck. Although I can still access everything, it is annoying that a TV show is showing up twice with different episodes. Any ideas for what to do next? I'm a bit stumped.

I have a lot of episodes the same show - different episodes, but they are not in the format "name s02e12". I have the ones for one show in a single folder - just not the right format. The mobile version - under Folders - shows the sub-folders. That makes it easy to find the show and episode I want. The TV version has a folder listing, but does not show any sub folders. Is there any way to get this feature in the TV version?
