  1. Is it possible to add support for external subtitles trough DLNA to MB? Currently MB transcodes every item that has external subtitles to burn them in, which is K.I.I.S. solution. The DLNA standard actually support additional subtitle (.srt) files, for example Serviio serves external subtitles to the client as item within the ContentDirectory: "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:ContentDirectory:1": ... <res protocolInfo="http-get:*:text/srt:*">http://192.168.1.5:8895/resource/6/SUBTITLE.srt</res> </item> The URI to the .srt file is given in the media directory and can be read through HTTP, so DLNA media render can access it. I get that, transcoding is the "last hope" when nothing else work but in this case, something else work, and why to force transcoding when natively can get without.

    MBC and MBT

I see well we will see how good MBT becomes in time. If it can do everything MBC can do and do it faster, MBC might not be needed. I admit that WMC LiveTV is still among the best LiveTv software. So the main question will be how good MBT LiveTV will be compared to it because for everything related directly to MBC, MBT should do it better and faster as a standalone frontend. The only thing i can see MBT lacking will be skins but im sure that will come in its own time. As for the rest, so far Movie section is better in MBT (even with missing features) and TV is still better in MBC since you cant use filters in MBT yet. One thing that would be good to see in MBT will be more views for more customization.

    External Subtitles Support?

It's about the first time I'm using MB3 and just bought the Android app since all the apps seems amazing. But I can't get the subtitles to work. When I do an "Advanced Playback" and select the subtitle (which is detected)... I receive the transcoded video (instead of direct streaming) but the subtitles still missing. Is there something that I need to do on the server ? I've already setted my pref language for subtitles also installed LAV Filters. Lastly, the entire point for me of all this setup is to play this on my Chromecast, but seems like when select the Advanced Play option the Cast button get disabled. Any ideas if this is expected or not? Thanks, keep the good work!

    Roku interface support?

Unfortunately what you get is what you see as far as options. Short of someone writing an entire new Roku app there aren't themes available. Sorry there is a reason why the majority of Roku channels look pretty similar and that is because there aren't a lot of different display options.

    360 MKV Support???

Setup: Windows x64 Enterprise box to Xbox 360 w/ MB3 classic plugin for Windows Media Center. Q: Most of my HD content is in .(mkv) format and it seems to not stream very well. I have seen where certain post-processing scripts can be put into play to convert to .mp4 and etc. But since the 360 native doesn't support makrosta? How can I make this better?
  8. This is somewhat of a meta question about the site, but now that there are separate product support subforums for the different components of Media Browser 3, what is the protocol for asking a question that might involve multiple components or you are unsure which component is the problem? For example: I am experiencing an issue that I don't know if it is related to MBServer or MBClassic Should I ask my question in: The general support question subforum? The subforum for MBServer? The subforum for MBClassic? Cross post in both? Or does it matter at all? The reason is I want to make sure my question gets to the right audience and doesn't pollute the new forums by being in the wrong spot. Any suggestions?
