Emby client started a conversion process and I noticed it and stopped the process on the server-side. Now, the client's device tries polling the server on the conversion/sync progress and it appears to make Emby refuse all connections from that source (from my nginx proxy, so basically any connections through my duckdns.org domain) and results in a 502 error. My setup is: Router port forward ports 80, 443 --> nginx-proxy-manager hosted on docker on my Ubuntu (192.168.1.13), which routes to my Emby Server on Docker Nginx logs attached, Emby Server logs attached as well. # EMBY SERVER LOGS 2022-02-08 02:27:26.449 Info Server: http/1.1 GET http://emby.mydomain.duckdns.org/Sync/JobItems/6/File. Hi, I need help. I am premium user and have the following issues. 1. My server is loaded on my iMac and I can watch shows on either the app or the web client on the iMac. 2. I can open and watch shows on my MacBook Pro 15" (older model) via either app or web client 3. (Problem 1) - I can open and watch shows on one my iPhone 12's but not my other (both the same age) 4. (Problem 2) - I can't load the server on my Apple TV - it just continues to give me the spinning cogwheel 5. (Problem 3) - I can't load the server on my MacBookPro 13" (current model) I have attached a log file for today but this is went screwy 3 days ago and I am going around the bend trying to figure it out. I have had to go back to using Plex which I dont like except for their subtitles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm new to the Emby community, and looking to help my brother upgrade his Emby server that is now straining under the load of dozens of family and friends. Is there a thread, forum, or other site where I can go to learn about an optimal hardware upgrade path for his Windows system? Thanks in advance!

I am a newby but I've searched these forums. I know I am making a newby mistake and would like help. I have created a user login in open subtitles and have provided my login name and password in emby. I have (I think) checked all of the correct boxes in each library's settings, but still no subtitles. There are no subtitle files in each recording's folder. I'm attaching a screen grab from my latest recording attempt. Please help! Thanks, Steve

Hi everyone. My first post in this forum. I hope someone with some experience on emby API can help me figuring out how to call this endpoint. (https://app.swaggerhub.com/apis/vdts/jellyfin-server_api/1.0.0#/default/ResetTuner) The background is.. I use a 'virtual M3U tuner' on Jellyfin server that connects to a remote m3u file. This gets only updated if I do so on the admin panel at the EPG Data Refresh. By resetting the tuner, I suppose this would basically reload the remote m3u file but I don't know how to use it. I know it is a POST request, I've tried the payload using {'operationId':'RefreshItem','Id':'38d682202ec8345f5b7381f656f921e9c '} but I cant quite understand what does the Id refer to. That number there is what I can read on the browser address ..../livetvtuner.html?id=8d682202ec8345f5b7381f656f921e9c when getting into the tuner settings page. Any clue? Thanks in advance,

Problem: since server update no user selection anymore (AndroidTV)
stonehead posted a topic in General/Windows
Problem: Since the latest Emby Server Windows 10 update a few days ago, I have on all my Nvidia Shield devices no user selection screen anymore. The only options are "manual", "connect" or "server change". So every user have to do a manual login with password, altough the user account are set that no password is required on local network. My setup: Local network with a Windows 10 server running Emby Server (4.6.6.0). Four Nvidia Shields in the same network connected to this server, having the Emby Anroid TV app installed (2.0.48g registered). User setup and settings: Multiple users that in the local network are visible users (visible tiles on user selection screen) and no password is required to access the Emby server in the local network. Behaviour before the latest Server update: Started the Emby app on Shield and user selection screen showed up, the user selected his user tile and got immediate access to the libraries (no password required). What I have tried to fix:: - Deinstalled Emby Android TV app on each Shield, reinstalled, unfortunately issue remains - Checked if this error can be replicated by accessing the server by a browser. Here it does work as it should, it shows a user selection screen with tiles you click on one and you get immediate access. That means this issue could be App specific, however Android App hasn't been updated since weeks and the only update that happened the last few days has been the Server update which and the timing matches with the first appearance of my issue. Could you please have a look at it. Thanks.- 11 replies

First, thanks for what looks to be an amazing piece of software. I've scanned in all my music and some albums have appeared correctly but others not. The common ground between all those which failed is that they are in one single parent folder (which has various artist / album folders below it). Emby seems to think that the parent folder is an album with hundreds of tracks, although Metadata Manager shows me that it has read the Album ID3 tags correctly on each individual track. Does Emby make Album objects in the library based on the tags or on the folders? My audio tracks are not quite strictly organised as artist/album/track, but the same folder structure has worked fine with many bits of software over the past ten years or so (eg. Kodi, Foobar, Logitech Media Server etc), and I would much rather not re-folder if I can avoid it. Many thanks in advance for any help. SC Platform details: HP Microserver > Ubuntu > Flac files with ID3 tags > Emby 3.0.5675.1 - let me know if you need to know anything else!

Completed Server - Upgrade code to HTTP/2 (HTTP/1.1 successor)
anderbytes posted a topic in Feature Requests
As seen in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP/2 and lot of other IT sites.... it is known that HTTP/2 is coming as upgrade to HTTP/1.1 and has tons of benefits over the 1999's deprecated 1.1 version. Some sites already implement it (Akamai, Cloudfare...) and benefits on speed are remarkable. Probably is too soon to implement it on Emby... but I'd like to suggest it to be something to be studied, because soon we will be hearing more about it. -
Trying to install the Server - latest release. I cannot get past the language selection. It is just a blank drop-down, and clicking "next" does nothing. Windows Vista. Firefox. Adblock turned off. Admuncher turned off. I checked the forums for similar problems. I noticed at least three (3) other people over the past several months posted the same issue. No certain solutions. Frustrated. This occurred at the end of a long line of problems installing the software in the first place (related to Windows blocking me - "protecting me" - from installing the setup.exe.) I got past that. But this one? I'm too burned out to trouble-shoot on my own. I really don't want to update every add-on like shockwave, flash, java, etc, in Windows to see if it "might" fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Better yet, a final solution for other people who'll eventually have the same problem in the future.

No puedo entrar a mi servidor en Android y a mi Smart tv

¿Es necesario tener emby premier para poder acceder Ami servidor emby desde otro dispositivo? -
hi, I'm using the latest media server version (windows 10) as well as the latest lg tv webos app. it often happens, while navigating through the the gui of the tv, that the loading icon is shown and the server becomes unresponsive. if I go to the "connect server" menu, it won't find the server which was connected couple of seconds ago. I'm connecting to an internal ip address. the only solution is to either restart the emby server or the lg tv emby app. there is nothing in the log, just a connection from the app and that's it, no other info after the problem occurs - I can attach the log though. the connection between the server pc and the tv is ok - e.g. the plex tv app + plex server are working ok, I can connect to the windows pc via dlna app of the lg tv. so, it comes down to the problem only being in the emby server/emby lg tv app. any idea, what's wrong? thanks

Multi part movie cannot show correctly in Emby. I tried with the support page: Emby Movie Naming : Emby, and followed the instructions with Split video files (file stacking), it cannot work. The movie won't show as a single movie, and only one part could be scanned, the other part will just be recognized as an extra content of the movie. I really don't know how to fix that. And I upgrade the Emby server to the latest 4.6, still same problem. What should I do to make this kind of multi part movie show correctly in my library? Except for merge the two files into one.

Hi @Luke @ebr, I was wondering with your recent new update to 4.6.50 whether you have included the new direct support for live tv via tuner cards without additional software (e.g. MediaPortal, WinTV etc)? As the changelog doesn't mention it, but doesn't mean that it isn't present. As it may be an unlisted change, anyway I have tried to find the release announcement for the new version as it may be mentioned either way in that post. But it doesn't seem to have been written and published yet could someone please answer me on the situation with this question please? Thanks, MrGrymReaper

Good morning, Emby Server has been updated automatically and now the images contained in the monitored folders are no longer visible regardless of the type of library chosen (personal photos and videos - mixed content, etc.). I have already tried to shut down the server and delete the contents of the programdata\cache folder. Do you have solutions?

For anyone like me who started off creating their library of media and and deciding at a later date that maybe they want to move the those movies into their own folders, but don't want to manually create thousands of folders, and then manually move the files, you can automate that process with PowerShell (on WIndows). Open up a PowerShell prompt and navigate to the directory with your movies being stored, in my case on a network share. cd \\unraid\media\movies Make sure this command will create a folder for every file in the directory you just navigated to. WARNING, I was lazy when I made this. This will technically create a folder for any object in the folder that has a period in the name. So, if for whatever reason, you already have folders with a period in the name, it will try to create a folder for it as well. If you already have a folder structure with periods, either don't use this or revise the command. Get-ChildItem | Where-Object {$_.Name -Like "*.*"} | Select BaseName | ForEach-Object {New-Item -Name $_.BaseName -ItemType "Directory"} This next command will actually move every item with a period in the name, into a folder of the same name, minus the file extension. So, if you have multiple copies of a movie, with multiple resolutions, or if you keep your metadata in NFO files, ALL of those files will be moved into the same folder. Get-ChildItem | Where-Object {$_.Name -Like "*.*"} | ForEach-Object {Move-Item $_.Name $_.BaseName}

Olof Eriksson Emby support.odt -
Prefer https over http won't automatically direct to https

Hi, I've been trying to solve a problem where when i go to my emby server through a Web browser then it'll go through http not https even though https is set up correctly and working. I have the preferred but not required setting and I need to keep it that way because a one of my TVs doesn't support https and there were too many problems with it. PS: sorry for my English it's not my primary language -
I really hope someone can help me get this app set up to access my server because I just cannot get it to work. And please, for the love of god, is there an easy way to explain it? I'm pretty comfortable on a computer but I'm not an expert coder or anything, so some of these instructions are going way over my head. I'm running the Emby server off an old iMac with a VPN. I connected my Fire TV to the server without any issue, but the Android app on my phone keeps insisting that it cannot connect to the server and asks me to check if the server is still running. I tried following instructions on port forwarding, but that's not working either. I've also had to sign in a bunch of times and I even made a new user account just to use on my phone (because I couldn't sign in with my server account) and it STILL won't connect. Is there anyone out there who can walk me through how to do this, in simple terms? I really wish I could talk to a real person about this but unfortunately the forum is all we have. I jumped ship from Plex because it was too complicated, but I'm sorry to say that if Emby isn't as easy to use as they claim then I will probably stop using it. Thanks in advance for any help!

After installing emby, my emby client app would not connect to the server and after poking around I noticed that several emby entries in the "allowed apps" of the Windows firewall were duplicated. After removing the duplicated entries my client app was able to connect to the server. Today after rebooting my home server, again my emby client app could not connect to the emby server. And again there were duplicates emby entries in the firewall. I removed them and the client app could then connect. As a test, I went to the taskbar tray and close the emby server and manually restarted it: duplicate entries in the firewall were found and the client could not connect to the server. There seems to be a bug with the emby server adding entires to the Windows firewall each time it is restarted.

Hi, Just bought a VBox DVB-C Tuner (which i will use with emby once it arrived) Just curious how much bandwidth it will take to stream from the vbox to the emby server with a) 1x FHD b) 1x 4k c) (if possible) 4x 4k at the same time. I havent found much about the bitrate from a usual DVB-C connection. Why do i ask this? Because i need to decide if i put the VBox next to my TV in the living room (!!!Where i have only a DLAN connection with about 160 mbit to the Emby Server in the basement!!!) or if the connection is to low, i need to put the VBox in the basement too and wouldnt be able to use it as android tv. (I have DVB-C Cable in the Basement AND living room. Regards,
