  1. Hi playing some of my files always fails with message" CONNECTION ERROR":/ [..]dex=1&VideoCodec=h264&Profile=high&Level=41&MaxVideoBitDepth=8&MaxWidth=1280&VideoBitrate=7689730&AudioCodec=dts&AudioBitrate=360000&MaxAudioChannels=6&MediaSourceId=37be07606503ea8e68d8d8828a8c827c&DeviceId=ZPCAMPY4GXSJS&StartTimeTicks=0 [...] (it contains h264 but its h265, is that a coinciedence?). On other devices transcoding works; so I assume the Samsung is the problem. The more I´m playing around with it, I´m coming to the point that a CONCURRENT transcoding of HEVC & DTS is a problem - pls see the att. files. but H265 / DD is working H264 / DTS works Please see the info and logs. tnx for helping me Samsung model number: UE65F8090 Samsung firmware version: v1135 (latest available at 25.10.2017) Samsung Emby client version #: v2.2.2 ffmpeg-transcode.txt server.txt
  2. Is it possible to passthrough DTS/TrueHD/any audio to soundbar using Emby Tizen App? My TV is Samsung KS7000 (KS8000 in US), server version 3.2.33.0, Tizen app version 1.0.25
  3. Hi, Some time ago i read that the ORSAY third party app dev's did not see a problem in not developing HTTPS support. My Samsung is run remotely through the Internet, and I would really like that developers think of security. Anyway... How would the Third Party App behave if i enable the new setting on the server to redirect to HTTPS.. Will the App ignore this and still use HTTP because it does not support HTTPS? Thanks /Blob
  4. So, i've set up Emby, and it seems to work fine over the internet. I can play to my tv, and i can access it as a server. Now, i just can't seem to figure out a way to acess it without the intternet? Is this possible? I have an old modem/router connected to my desktop. NO internet. I'd like my tv to be able to log into the WLAN and to be able to access and stream my files from there. Quick question: Does anybody else find that they can't navigate their media via their tv remotes? forward/back/pause?

    Emby app for UN50KU6300F

I have been using Emby to watch my ripped movies on a large computer monitor for a number of years as my 10 year old Sony was such a hassle. I recently got a Samsung smart TV, a UN50KU6300F, which I think uses the Tizen operating system. I see there is an Emby app in the app store. Could it be so easy as just installing the Emby app and pointing it to my server and I am up-and-running? I see install guides in the forum but they seem to be for older/different series Samsungs, the latest being 2014. Also most of my rips are in Video_TS folders. Am I in trouble there? Thanks Kubla Khan

Server no longer found on Samsung

Somewhere within the last 2-3 updates, I lost the ability to find the Emby server on any of my Samsung TV's. Currently running Version 3.0.8400.0. Emby works fine however on all other computers and portable devices. Seems to be a DLNA issue. Any suggestions? Thx,
  8. I have been using Emby for awhile now, but the one thing I've been unable to do is watch ripped 3D Blu Rays on my HTPC. I was wondering what solutions people have come up with for this problem? So far the only success I have had (other than putting in the disc and playing it with PowerDVD 15) is to rip it with MakeMKV as an mvc file, and use Stereoscopic Player. The trouble is, I only have the demo of Stereoscopic Player since its not a free application and I'm, um, on a budget. Is there any free software that can be used to play 3D Blu Rays? If not, I will bite the bullet and buy it, but can Emby use Stereoscopic Player as an external player? The second, less important, question I have is...is there any way to get my TV to play ripped 3D Blu Rays in 3D automatically? If I stick the disc in or watch something natively in 3D on TV (DirectTV used to have 3D channels, though they are long gone now) my Samsung un60es7150 would automatically swtich to 3D mode. However, with Stereoscopic Player I have to pick 'side by side' as my viewing format, start playing, then go to the TV's menu and manually turn on 3D side by side mode. Boo hoo, my diamond necklace chafes, but it is pretty annoying. Is there a better way? Thanks for your help and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't really sure where to post it.

Transcoding over DLNA not working [samsung]

I'm facing the infamous "this filetype is not supported" message when trying to play certain files over DLNA. Those certain files appear as transcoding containers in .ts format. As per other similar threads, I tried upping the VideoLevel value in the dlna profile to 51, and also upping max streaming bitrate, but nothing seems to be working. Particular tv should be able to play all the files present natively. Tv model is 2015 samsung JU7500. Attaching logs right after starting the server and trying to play a problematic video. Note that the transcoding seems to be working just fine on server side. server log (mind the exceptions related to the fact server is not connected to the internet) transcoding log profile screenshot of a sample problematic media data Application version: 3.0.5972.0 Also, for what it's worth, the emby is being run from a docker container on an unRAID server.

    Emby App

Is there app that will work on newer Samsung? Or will one of the existing app's work? model# un32j4500af
  11. Hi All, After being a long time user of emby/MB I am after a bit of advise please. I want to buy one of the standalone NAS devices for my parents to stream to their Samsung tv, which is the best of the brands please? Asusto, QNAP or Synlogy? Also do they have enough grunt to steam to a Samsung device, as I am unsure how much transcoding is required for that app. The only other things the server will be doing is DLNA music streaming and photo sharing. I personally run an i5 server to a Kodi HTPC so never have any problems with these things. Thank you.

    SAMSUNG UN55ES8000 not working

Whenever I try to play to my UN55ES8000 Samsung TV I am getting the following error message (at the TV). The File you have selected is not currently supported. I am able to play the file directly from my NAS (Netgear) using the native DNLA capabilities of the TV/NAS. File is a regular mkv file with H.264 video and DTS audio. I have tried several files and they all exhibit the same behaviour.
  13. Since a few days ago my Samsung Smart TVs (2 in total) are no longer able to find any media on Emby. They do find the Emby server fine but claim that there are no videos/photos/etc. stored on it. I also have a Sony smart TV which is working fine. I have checked the log files and found the info below. I believe this might be relevant because the TV is called '[TV]Vesta' so it seems to fail at updating something. What can I do to make my Samsung TVs find the media on Emby again. Just for the record, both TVs have worked with Emby for months. 15. Install from - 82.27.106.58 IMPORTANT - This beta version is in 1080p resolution. You should only attempt to install it on your 2012 E-Series, 2013 F-Series or 2014 H-Series devices. Each of these have been confirmed working by at least one forum member, but you should still exercise caution. I know I had previously talked about making a 720p version but here's the thing, I started it and it looked exactly the same. I (literally) couldn't see the point. So here's a 1080p version instead. If it doesn't support your device, please try not to hate me too much, you're really not missing much from 720p. Please let me know what devices you guys try this on and how it goes. I have a 2013 F-Series TV and it looks really good on that. 2011 D-Series devices and earlier are now NOT SUPPORTED. Known issue - The music player icons still need replacing. I'll be away over the new year but I'll check in on mobile.

Samsung TV sees Emby DLNA, but no content

I never really used to try DLNA, but remember it worked weeks ago. Now I tried to connect to EMBY over DLNA, but Samsung TV reports no video, music or image content. When I try the same over BubbleUPNP, it works. Hope someone can help me out. server-63587359454.txt

    Playing MVC content

First of all, Merry Christmas to all! I'm struggling with mkv or m2ts containing AVC/MVC content since a few months. I tried most of the tutorials around the web (makemkv, tsmuxer etc.), but til now, I cannot get this to work with Emby (or Plex). MKV does not work here at all since just Stereoscopic Player plays it). But Playing a MVC m2ts created with tsMuxer over USB connected HDD works. When starting the video (marked FSBS in Metadata) in the Emby app, the half of the 1st 1080p stream is on the one side, and the half of the 2nd 1080p stream on the other. But the video itself plays. When stream starts it looks kinda this (cannot see it absolutely, perhaps thew Streams overlap in the middle): Now to the weird behaviour: When I go into Tools Menu during Playback to change Position (the time doesn't matter), the Movie loads again to the requested time and the screen looks like this, which is an absolute correct working 3D MVC stream recognized by TV:
  18. It would be great if you could set the Emby client to start by default when the TV is turned on. (instead of e.g. HDMI1) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21347109/launch-an-app-on-samsung-smart-tv-startup Looks to be a pretty simple thing to setup.
  19. I have a 2015 Samsung J series TV and using DLNA, I can only play a portion of my files. Seemingly at random, many of my MP4 files are showing up as .ts files and they will not play.. I do not have any .ts files. all I have is mp4.. any suggestions?
  20. Hello, I have a Samsung UN55H6300 and just installed the Samsung TV App version .515c. I noticed that when I went to play The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey it did not show up in the library, however when using the Android Media Browser or Media Browser Theater everything is fine. Instead of seeing 1080p and 3D version of Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug, I only saw Desolation of Smaug and when I when to click on one of them I got an error message - unable play none of the mediasources are playable. If you know how to fix this, please let me know.

    1.0.0 Beta Thread

The previous thread looked like it might go forever. Better if we break it up a bit I think. The current BETA release is available to install from the following IP address… 86.14.225.93 For full instructions, please see the Install Instructions thread. Currently, Samsung Smart TVs, Blu-ray Disk players and Home Theatre Systems series D, E, F and H are supported. D series devices will likely not be supported in a future release due to a planned increase in the smart hub resolution. The normal rules of running beta software apply. It might not work! If you do find a bug, please try to find out if it has been introduced recently or was there already in the last stable release and then submit a bug report. There are myriad TVs and devices to support and the behaviour is sometimes different so your input is enormously valuable.

    Alternative MediaInfo Icons

I made some alternative MediaInfo Icons (also Loading Icon) for the lovely Emby Samsung app. If you like em, feel free to try them out. For now, this is just for people who are able to sideload the App via USB (e.g. H-Series 2014). Just replace the images in app folder /images with the ones from the zip. Emby_Changed_Pictures.zip
  25. Hello, I will open a discussion that I think will be useful for many Samsung SmatTV users! I am not capable to see subtitles with the latest beta Emby 3713.3 on Windows 10 system for a .srt file. When I send the video to "My Devices" (laptop) and I choose the .srt file from beginning (and only at the beginning of movie) the subtitle is visible. In the middle of the movie don't work. When I send to [TV]Samsung LED40 the caption don't work everything I do. I have changed the subtitle with Remote Button, the movie re-start but all the time without caption. I want to see the subtitles in Romanian language and the extensions of the subtitle files are in .srt. All my movies are in .mp4 extension. Do you have a solution to solve this issue or I must wait a new version of Emby? With the previous stable version, I can do nothing. The subtitles are not visible everything you choose or change on "My Devices" or TV. Thank you for help!
