First of all, Merry Christmas to all! I'm struggling with mkv or m2ts containing AVC/MVC content since a few months. I tried most of the tutorials around the web (makemkv, tsmuxer etc.), but til now, I cannot get this to work with Emby (or Plex). MKV does not work here at all since just Stereoscopic Player plays it). But Playing a MVC m2ts created with tsMuxer over USB connected HDD works. When starting the video (marked FSBS in Metadata) in the Emby app, the half of the 1st 1080p stream is on the one side, and the half of the 2nd 1080p stream on the other. But the video itself plays. When stream starts it looks kinda this (cannot see it absolutely, perhaps thew Streams overlap in the middle): Now to the weird behaviour: When I go into Tools Menu during Playback to change Position (the time doesn't matter), the Movie loads again to the requested time and the screen looks like this, which is an absolute correct working 3D MVC stream recognized by TV:

It would be great if you could set the Emby client to start by default when the TV is turned on. (instead of e.g. HDMI1) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21347109/launch-an-app-on-samsung-smart-tv-startup Looks to be a pretty simple thing to setup.

Hello, I have a Samsung UN55H6300 and just installed the Samsung TV App version .515c. I noticed that when I went to play The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey it did not show up in the library, however when using the Android Media Browser or Media Browser Theater everything is fine. Instead of seeing 1080p and 3D version of Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug, I only saw Desolation of Smaug and when I when to click on one of them I got an error message - unable play none of the mediasources are playable. If you know how to fix this, please let me know.

The previous thread looked like it might go forever. Better if we break it up a bit I think. The current BETA release is available to install from the following IP address… 86.14.225.93 For full instructions, please see the Install Instructions thread. Currently, Samsung Smart TVs, Blu-ray Disk players and Home Theatre Systems series D, E, F and H are supported. D series devices will likely not be supported in a future release due to a planned increase in the smart hub resolution. The normal rules of running beta software apply. It might not work! If you do find a bug, please try to find out if it has been introduced recently or was there already in the last stable release and then submit a bug report. There are myriad TVs and devices to support and the behaviour is sometimes different so your input is enormously valuable.

I made some alternative MediaInfo Icons (also Loading Icon) for the lovely Emby Samsung app. If you like em, feel free to try them out. For now, this is just for people who are able to sideload the App via USB (e.g. H-Series 2014). Just replace the images in app folder /images with the ones from the zip. Emby_Changed_Pictures.zip

Hello, I will open a discussion that I think will be useful for many Samsung SmatTV users! I am not capable to see subtitles with the latest beta Emby 3713.3 on Windows 10 system for a .srt file. When I send the video to "My Devices" (laptop) and I choose the .srt file from beginning (and only at the beginning of movie) the subtitle is visible. In the middle of the movie don't work. When I send to [TV]Samsung LED40 the caption don't work everything I do. I have changed the subtitle with Remote Button, the movie re-start but all the time without caption. I want to see the subtitles in Romanian language and the extensions of the subtitle files are in .srt. All my movies are in .mp4 extension. Do you have a solution to solve this issue or I must wait a new version of Emby? With the previous stable version, I can do nothing. The subtitles are not visible everything you choose or change on "My Devices" or TV. Thank you for help!

I'm trying version 590 and I noticed that on the manual login page at least the password field is clear text. So when you type a password, is visible to anyone in the room. Would it be possible to hide the typed characters like in a regular password field where they are replaced with stars? Thanks

Is it possible for Samsung E-series TV's to stream WMC's recorded TV files (WTV)? I'm aware that copy once protected files will not be supported, but can copy freely work? I have tried connecting to the Emby server to playback these files, but I get "media not supported" messages. So, the format being presented to the TV is not one it supports apparently. Is it possible to edit the Samsung profile to attempt to transcode to an alternate supported format? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone had any luck streaming media to their Samsung TV? I have a Samsung PN50C8000 (Series 8 - Plasma TV). I have had no luck using the Web Client to stream media to it. ( I also have a Panasonic Vieira which streams just fine using the default DLNA profile.) I have read nearly every post in the DLNA forum and have tried hundreds of different DLNA settings but I consistently get the following error: "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error" From reading the forum, I assume this is an error generated when the file attempting to be streamed is unsupported by the TV. Here is the supported file information for all Samsung Series 8 TVs: and here is the Media Info from the web client: Like all of my movies it is a VOB file (ripped by DVDFab). So what I have gathered is that it is not natively supported by my Samsung TV so it will have to be transcoded. However, that never works. Here is the error from the EMBY Log File:

Looking for some advice. My setup is laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) with the server software (mbs not compatible with my NAS at this time). This is connected wirelessly to my readynas NV+ v2, which is wired to the internet. My client are: NowTV box in front room, Samsung Smart TV in the bedroom and MB android app on phone. I am unable to directly connect my laptop to the NAS. I get a fair bit of buffering, especially with movies, and was thinking about possibly converting all my media to a format that will be recognised by all my clients so that I can direct play. Firstly, are there any settings (on the nas/mbs/NowTV) anyone can recommend that may help reduce buffering Secondly, what format will all my clients be able to direct play - I would rather not go down this route as it will take forever to convert all my media, but know that I may have no choice in the end Thanks for any help/info you can give me

Hi chessdragon (and crew) Firstly, huge props and thanks for your work on the Samsung app. It is awesome! I'm having some problems when playing HTAB content on my UE48H6470SS. HSBS is working perfectly, and does not have any of the issues below. a. Even with the [htab] tag on them, MKV-files with Half-OU/HTAB content do not work out-of-the-download-box, so to speak. Not the ones I've tried, at least. They do have 'HTAB' as '3D format' in their metadata. I have to remux the files using MKVmerge, setting the 'Stereoscopy' setting under 'Format specific options' for the h.264 track, to 'top bottom (left first) (3; top_bottom_left_first)'. b. When that is done, I start the movie on my TV, and the TV says it is now playing in 3D (and that I can press my non-existing 3D-button to switch back to 2D). Weird thing is, the TV defaults to enabling '3D -> 2D' mode when I play the HTAB movie. When I manually go and disable that in 'Picture' -> '3D', the 3D works perfectly! c. If I press 'Return', and then try to resume the movie, then it doesn't detect the 3D, resulting in the two images being shown on top of each other. If I press 'Play' instead of 'Resume', the 3D is detected again, and the process described in b (above) has to be repeated. I would love to give you the information you ask for in your 'Reporting issues' post, but all I get when I populate the url with my data, is this: {"ResponseStatus":{"ErrorCode":"SecurityException","Message":"Access token is invalid or expired.","StackTrace":" at MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.Security.AuthService.ValidateSecurityToken(IServiceRequest request, String token)\r\n at MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.Security.AuthService.ValidateUser(IServiceRequest request, IAuthenticationAttributes authAttribtues)\r\n at MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.Security.AuthService.Authenticate(IServiceRequest request, IAuthenticationAttributes authAttribtues)\r\n at MediaBrowser.Controller.Net.AuthenticatedAttribute.RequestFilter(IRequest request, IResponse response, Object requestDto)\r\n at ServiceStack.ServiceStackHost.ApplyRequestFiltersSingle(IRequest req, IResponse res, Object requestDto)\r\n at ServiceStack.ServiceStackHost.ApplyRequestFilters(IRequest req, IResponse res, Object requestDto)\r\n at ServiceStack.Host.RestHandler.ProcessRequestAsync(IRequest httpReq, IResponse httpRes, String operationName)"}} I have attached Mediainfo for both the original file, and the remuxed file. I hope you can use this information for something. Remuxed Mediainfo.txt Original Mediainfo.txt

Use the Samsung Smart TV remote to control MCE (read Mediabrowser)
1972 posted a topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Hi all, Recently I bought a Samsung Smart TV (EU48H6400), which includes an universal programmable remote control. The programmable remote control supports almost all types of setup boxes, home cinema sets an DVD players, but does not support MCE... So I wondered if it was possible to programm it in such way so it could accept MCE commands (since my wife hates multiple remotes). … and YES there is a way!!! After some research I found a page that helped me a lot and thought this might be interesting to share it over here: [source: here] Dave McDonnell wrote: I've just purchased a Samsung Series 6 (55H6400) TV, and I've been able to get the Smart remote to work with Windows 7 Media center like this. Note: this may not work too well if you also have an Xbox 360 as it will get the remote key presses as well. I'm planning to cover over the IR sensor on my 360 if this becomes a problem for me. So, first change your 7MCE to recognise key presses from Xbox remotes as well as MCE remotes: http://www.tenniswood.co.uk/technology/windows/how-to-reprogram-the-xbox-remote-for-window s-media-center/ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da CodeSetNum0 change from 1 to 0 and reboot Once you have done that, in Universal Remote setup, change the input that you have MCE on to be a Bluray - Xbox. What works on my remote: https://www.rtings.com/images/reviews/h6400/h6400-remote-medium.jpg D-pad directions and center click (menu navigation) Return button (Back button) Guide button (also opens media center if not running) RW / Play / Pause / FF Prog Up / Prog Down No skip button unfortunately. I'm looking with Autohotkey if I can listen to the A/B/C/D buttons on bottom row to re-map these in software. The smart remote also seems to accept gestures on the D-pad, but I havent worked this out yet. -
I got caught out yesterday planning to watch something which showed up on my system on the Samsung and Roku clients (under series view). Turned out the show was missing but there was no obvious/immediate visual cue that the missing show was different to a present show. I am aware that there is an option to turn off missing from views but it does have its uses too. Clients do not currently have a standard for visually cueing missing (Roku and Samsung) This feature request is that the project introduces a standard for missing cues We currently have a green circle and a tick for watched episode. why not have Orange circle for episodes which are in flight/resumable (although the bar along the bottom is more informative/better..this could be useful for clients that dont show this level of detail/dont have room on screen). Red circle for episodes which are missing. thanks for considering

I am trying to download and install the Samsung Smart TV app but am having no success. I have successfully logged in as developer with pwd 000000 and set the IP address to 173.230.139.54. When hitting User App sync it connects and begins to download the mediabrowser3 app. A progress bar is shown and when it progresses to the end, it just hangs and nothing happens. I am using smart hub on my home theatre system not sure if that is an issue, home theatre model is Samsung HT-E5550. Any advice?

HI, Was just doing some testing for other purposes and have found that terminating playback via the app does not really terminate everything. Was testing out some 3D playback that ended up getting transcoding and when I hit the stop button the app return to the movie details screen and then I backed out of the app. When looking at the MBS Server details page it does not appear that anything is still being transcoded, but when I look at my external USB drive caddie I can see that the drive is still active. As well, the is still an ffmpeg process running on the server. This has happen three times now today, twice from the same TV and once from a Samsung BD Player that has the app installed on it Not sure if the server and transcoding logs will help, but I attached them anyway Cheers CrashKelly EDIT: Just testing direct streaming and that functions as it should transcode-c9469d48-56ed-42a4-8772-7798efaf2a26.txt server-63557197753.txt server-63557195903.txt

Hi, I am having a few issues playing 3D content with the Samsung TV app. I think it's a limitation of the TV and not the App, but if someone could confirm I would be greatful. I used to use an Asus Eee BoxPC mounted on the back of my TV to run Media Browser and watch 3D files. But as the Samsung App got so good I switched to using it full time, the problem is when playing a 3D film it displays the two frames side by side. If I press the 3D button on the remote I am unable to select 3D mode 'side by side', the only mode enabled is '2D-3D'. The 2D-3D mode turns each frame into 3D so I see 2 sets of 3D pictures next to each other. If I set the 3D format for the film in metadata manager to HSBS, the film starts and looks like an interlaced single 3D picture but the TV doesn't see it as 3D so doesn't allow the glasses to switch on, and when pressing the 3D button on the remote it switches to 2 3D pictures side by side (the 3D interlaced mode is disabled). Anybody else seen this issue? A few details about my setup; Samsung App Version: v0.515c (Current latest) Samsung TV Model: UE37ES6300UXXU (UK Model) TV Firmware: 002004 (Current latest) MB Server Version: 3.0.5464.40000 When I used to watch 3D films using the Asus Eee BoxPC I didn't set a 3D format in metadata manager, so the picture would be displayed side by side. I would then press the 3D button on the remote and select 3D mode 'side by side'. This worked fine. I don't really understand why this doesn't work with the Samsung App.

Archive - Samsung Smart TV App - Public Alpha Test
chessdragon136 posted a topic in Samsung Smart TV
Recognition Before I get into all the details I just wanted to say thanks to the following people who have been instrumental in the app so far in terms of support and technical knowledge: @@Tikuf @@CBers @@Luke @@AdrianW @@DaN @@Rowlett @@7illusions @@Cheesegeezer Need to Know Information before Use This is an alpha version of the program I have been developing for the last 4 months or so. As such do not expect much to work, expect crashes, and expect many bugs.. I have tested this myself an believe it to be stable but I can only test so much. There are also many things not implemented / supported! Requirements: A Samsung TV / DVD / Bluray Player (Anything which has Samsung's Smart Hub) Supported Devices - TV's / Samsung Smart Devices with Smart Hub D series (2011) and up (C Series WILL CRASH the TV) Install procedure On the Samsung device load up the Smart Hub and press red to login, and login with the details "develop", password "000000" -> Once logged in, press the blue button and there should be a developer menu. In there select "Setting Server IP" and it will ask for an IP address, enter the IP 92.232.122.228 Once that's done select "User Application Synchronisation" and hopefully it will connect and download my app to the tv. If the above doesnt work, try the below (Thanks AdrianW) The setup on my TV (F-series plasma) was slightly different - here's the steps: Open the main menu and scroll down to "Smart Features" and press enter Select "Samsung Account" Select "Log In" In the Email field enter "develop" - no need to enter a password (the password field is inaccessible) Press Login Exit from the menu Press the Smart Hub button on the remote and scroll to Apps Select "More Apps" (at the bottom of the screen) Select "Options" at the top right Select "IP Setting" Enter the IP address Exit and then select "Start App Sync" from the Options menu - this will download the app Once the app has downloaded it will appear on the "More Apps" screen Select the App You will then have to enter your MB Server's IP address and port number (these are visible on MBT's Network settings page and on the Advanced tab of MBC's config page). Frequently, while playing various tv shows, when using the PlayTo feature (from my nexus7 android app to the samsung tv), play back will just stop about 2-3 minutes short. Has anyone ever seen this behavior? Does not seem to happen all the time, but enough to be annoying. When it does happen, what logs (location) can I provide? I'm using the standard SamsugTV profile. Thanks!!!

Greeting Community (not the show ) - I've been enjoying the "PlayTo" feature immensely - but recently, more and more of my content is giving me the message "the file you selected is not currently supported" when i try to play it. Likewise, if i browse the same file, using the DLNA feature, I get the same error. These are TV shows/Movies that have worked in the past, using PlayTo and DLNA, but are now not working. I'm running Version 3.0.5238.39498 samsung UNEH5300 I've had Serviio as a backup DLNA provider, and if I browse the same content, it plays w/out a problem. Help...please. Thanks!!!!
