The versions after 4.0.2 seem to have broken something in the way the Roku thumbnails plugin works. Using 4.1.1.0 I can still use the .bif files that were created in the past, but no new thumbnails are created for new files added to the library. In fact, the plugin doesn't show anymore under the Plugin section or in the Scheduled Tasks section.

Can we have a feature in the backup plugin to archive or compress the configuration backups? The block size on my ZFS share that it's backing up to is quite large, so the 19.0 MB of backup data for each backup is taking up 163 MB of space. Plus, since it's a backup, I can't imagine why it shouldn't be in a tar archive anyway. I think this would be simple to implement; eg, have it on by default or a toggle in the backup configuration, and then when it's trying to restore a backup just untar/unzip the archive to a temporary directory. Couple questions regarding the Roku Thumbnail app. If a .bif file already exists, the plugin is smart enough to skip those folders with that file present, is this correct? If I were to upgrade a copy of a movie to a better quality one, and keep the filename the same, will I be able to use the existing .bif or will a new one be needed? Is there any way to have the plugin skip certain folders? The backdrops folder for example, if there is a video background, I don't need a .bif for that file.

The Plugin Catalog in the WMC app doesn't seem to properly download files from the server (Testing with EMC 3.0.315.0) . Basically I simply deleted one of my themes and tried to download it again and it basically hangs at installing the theme. This was brought to my attention by a user having issues installing the theme. I tried uploading a new version to the site and all seemed to process well but still it won't seem to download the file and basically just sticks a file with 0 bytes in the \programdata\plugin directory. This is not limited to my themes as I tried to install the backdrop screen saver and the cover screen saver and the same issues occured.

Hi, The report plugin has stopped working since I upgraded to 4.0.0.2 (debian x64). The plugin version is 1.0.24.0. I know this is a recurring topic on this forum, but I've been at this for days, been through all of the forum topics here as well as Googled everywhere else and still just not able to get the Gamebrowser plugin to function correctly. My main storage drive on my server is J:\ and my games are located in J:\Games. My Emulators are installed on my client PC on D:\ Emulators. I have rescanned my libraries as well as changed the xml between <gamesystem> and </game system> to read the full path (instead of SegaGenesis, it's Sega Genesis) and still no resolve. It's still not get the 'Play' button to show up on any console or game that I add to my server. On top of that no metadata is being pulled through either GDB or Emumovies, I have seen that GDB has changed their web heading so that's what's causing much of the ruckus, but that shouldn't affect the fact that it's not giving me an option to play should it? Have been scratching my head for the past couple days wondering what it is I'm missing.

HI Everyone, The LDAP plugin is just amazing and would like to congratulated the designer, we are a large secondary school and use Emby as our main media library, there are a couple of things which would be great to have as options within the LDAP plugin 'New User Defaults' settings. By default the following settings are enabled for any new registered user. Allow Media Conversion Allow social media sharing At the moment we have to check everyday to see if a user has registered and then untick the 2 above options. Is there a way this could be added as an option to the New User Defaults section of the LDAP plugin.

Hello there I'm pretty new to Emby and have the following issue. I have emby server version 3.5.3 on a synology DS 211 NAS running DSM 6.2.1. I'm having three issues which I suspect could all be related. These are: 1 - I'm no longer able to download images (for backdrops, thumbnails etc) from the Themoviedb but I can from FanArt.com 2 - I keeping getting a "Check for plugin Updates failed" - I've attached the error information for this 3 - Every time I try and save my Emby Connect user name to my profile I get the following error message "There was an error performing the requested operation. Your server is unable to contact our Emby Connect Server at https://connect.emby.media. Please ensure your server has an active Internet connection and that the communications are being allowed by any firewall or security software you have installed." I've checked my ports on my router and I have the following ports open as far as I can tell 8096 and 8920 TCP 1900-1901 and 7359 UDP Any help/advice would be appreciated. thanks Paul Got It embyLogFile.txt

No luck. Just in case, make sure permissions are in place, even though no specific errors in logs: sudo chmod -R 755 /home/emby/ sudo chown -R emby:emby /home/emby/ Launch Emby, launch backup plugin Browse to any backup Result: backup screen hangs with loading indicator Log files: logs indicate that plugin is reaching endpoint ok, and browsing the JSON at http://localhost:8096/emby/MBBackup/Backups correctly displays restorable content of backup files (time, date, profile, users, etc). It seems like just the UI is hanging for some reason? Most recent log attached. Additional information: previous server was Emby 3.2.x on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, same backup plugin version, and these same backups restored successfully there. I have wmc channels edited and unchecked all but 52 of the channels I watch. In serverwmc I can see just the 52 channels, but in envy when I ended the guide or channels I get all 800 and it is very slow to load and open ... Several minutes. How can I ensure that envy only loads the 52 active channels that I want to help improve the experience? Thanks

Totally by chance, I found I had a duplicate actor Charles "Charlie" Chaplin in my movies, one going under Charlie Chaplin, the other as Charles Chaplin. Anyone of you with a few of his movies should experience a similar issue While this is not Emby's fault, but themoviedb's, I am left wondering how many of those type of error I have in my library. An Actor Cleaner plugin would be extremely useful in my scenario.

Hi there, I have started looking at Emby's plugin API. I have two Plex Plugins I would like to convert for Emby. They are both channel plugins. I was trying out the Channel plugin API and saw the ChannelFolderType option. However, as I found out it does not have an effect. After searching through the source code and running it under a debugger, I found the following line, that prevents this from working: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Common/blob/6ef8705ed609666555894c698dfc140fd8314831/MediaBrowser.Controller/Entities/BaseItem.cs#L2047-L2055 Is there a reason, the line about ChannelFolderItem couldn't be removed? Or return the normal type, when e.g. another option on the ChannelItemInfo is set? I have tried removing the check for the channel, and it seems to work fine and display the series as it normally would with a real series. I think allowing ChannelFolderType to work correctly, would greatly improve the channel plugins. Kind regards, Leo

Hi I'm using your Email Notif plugin which works well but I suggest you two features with one very important for me: 1) IMPORTANT I want to have only one email every X minutes hours / seconds etc. Avoid: If I upload 2 seasons of a tv shows, I don't want to have 39 emails in the same time :/ 2) NOT IMPORTANT BUT USEFUL I can't choose the group of folders that I want to follow for the emails. User X wants to follow a specific tv show or sections etc, so this feature can help to notify the good people MY SUGGESTION TO SOLUTION 1: Your algo which watch and send an email, is it possible to modify it, in adding the name of the episode in one array / list and then, when the X minutes / seconds / hours are reached (using a batch or something like that); you build the template of the email and you loop on the list in the aim to show all episodes in only one mail ? I think it's not very complicated and so much better like that NB: Maybe I miss something about this plugin to get this feature, I let you to tell me what you think about this Regards

I've just installed a fresh install of emby on my ubuntu server, previously was running as a plex server (i'm hoping to switch) My media is located on a nas drive externally and i have mounts setup using cifs, i can access the external media by doing cd /media/plex/shows cd /media/plex/movies Both of these mounts show up in plex but during the emby configuration wizard browsing to /media shows only /media/CDRom Is this a permissions issue maybe? If so what user / permissions should i grant to access these mounts? Thanks

Hello, I'm not sure if this exists but I have merely overlooked it. If I have please point me in the right direction. My memory is shot but I am pretty sure I used a plugin for Emby that did this waaay back in the day. Firstly, I use Emby for WMC. I am wondering if a feature could be added / plugin created that would display your media in a style like the TV Guide, having multiple channels, and displaying media randomly for each channel. You could configure all of the channels by naming them what you want, and showing what media folders you wanted on each channel. The plugin would then create a random playlist for each channel. Ideally, it would only play items from the unplayed content, possibly make this an option. It would be great to sit down on a weekend and have Emby play random TV shows and movies for me, much like watching real TV (minus the garbage). My apologies if this has been requested before, and I simply didn't look hard enough. Cheers.

When I select the default profile and click the Treatments, Specific Covers, or Indicator Overlays tab, I get the following error: Not Found The requested URL /configurationpageext was not found on this server. What is worse, there is not way to go back from the error page (clicking the back button in the browser takes me back to the same error page).

However, unable to access Emby configuration page from PC host running VirtualBox. Sol.02a - Confirmed Shutdown Virtualbox VM running FreeNAS. Change VirtualBox FreeNAS VM Networking to the following: Bridged Adapter (allows FreeNAS access from VirtualBox host machine) Promiscuous Mode=Allow All (allows FreeNAS plugins web page access) Restart the FreeNAS VM and ensure the FreeNAS Emby Plugin has been started.

Another idea/request for the nifty Trailers Plugin. This one's probably a bit more involved (potentially a lot more involved). It would be really useful if each of the three views (New and Upcoming in Theaters, New and Upcoming on DVD/Blu-ray, New and Upcoming on Netflix) would default to displaying trailers by whatever the most relevant date is for that view (eg, movie release date, DVD/Blu-ray release date, date coming to Netflix). And it would be even more useful if that information could be displayed on the detail screen somehow, and also perhaps have some visual date markers in the horizontal scrolling view within Emby Theater (Windows Desktop). The visual date markers in the horizontal scrolling view could be as simple as a vertical dividing line separating months (and a text indicator of which month was on which side of the line). I am guessing that the biggest challenge with the above would be getting access (in a programmatic way) to the necessary date information. But, I figure it doesn't hurt to put the idea out there.
