    Roku 3 Loading Please Wait

Hi, I'm having a problem when playing back video on my Roku 3. For the 1st 10-15 seconds the video will stop at least once (sometimes several times) and display the message "Loading, Please Wait" along with a loading status bar. I'm new to Emby. I tried messing with some settings but nothing seemed to change this. It almost seems like it is not buffering enough somewhere. My network is 300Mbps N. I haven't had this problem using other services but I don't think those services were transcoding to H.264.... I'm not sure though. I am using a new Synology DS916. Emby Version 3.0.8500.0-1. Log
  2. Does anyone have any idea how to increase the size of the playback bar, and/or increase the number of increments (to allow skipping to more portions of the video)? I assume this is done via CSS, but if there's another way that'd be preferable (as I usually import my CSS). Thanks!

    Emby - Full screen playback.

Not sure if this would be hard to implement but it would be great if when one episode of a show finishes it stays in full screen mode when the next episode starts. Just a little thing but would be nice to have in the web browser.
  4. The last week or so, I've been unable to play any videos in Emby on my NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV. It actually happened started about a month ago when I was using the beta app. But I didn't have time to report the issue, so I just left the beta to get back on "stable" and the issue was solved. However, now it seems that the beta version I had issues with, has made it into stable, and now I had time to report the issue. When starting a video, I just get black screen with the player UI, and a toast saying "Player error encountered. Will re-try..." (see attached picture). I cannot see anything odd in the remux logs on the server, but I attached one anyway for your expert eyes. I tried to find a log file for the app on my shield, but was not able to find any. Please let me know where to find it if you need it. I can play the videos when playing to an external player like VLC, but it's not really optimal for me. EDIT: I've tried in 1.2.77g (stable), and I found the button to send logs, so I've sent those. I've rejoined the beta program, but the app hasn't updated yet. I'll post my results here once it does. ffmpeg-remux-b2a5a98a-d133-495c-9ed3-ff14bf021fce.txt

Steaming not working - Black screen or error

I posted about this issues before, but the forum seem to have been deleted. I have been unable to stream Live Tv to any device. I get " No compatible streams....error". I have refreshed the guide, restarted both sever and host computer. Problem started occurring 2 days ago. I use mainly Chrome to aces Emby. When I don't get the error message, it loads the payer box as if it was going to stream the channel or file, but its is just a black screen, sometimes, only the audio will start playing, the controls on the bottom of the player are dashes likes nothing is loaded. It seems local media files that do not require transcoding play fine, but nothing else will. The guide is accurate and recording works fine. I have recorded a few shows and was able to play back the recorded file with VLC just fine. But it will not play in Emby. I attached what logs i could find. Loga.txt Log2.txt
  6. I'm trying to play back 10 bit hevc content to a number of devices. I have tried using the web app on my phone and laptop. A raspberry pi 2 with the Kodi app. The same app on my phone and the server where Emby is installed. All content not transcoded plays perfectly well via the addon option in the kodi app or via direct play. I never have any quality issues or buffering problems. Whenever I try and transcode the videos they play for just over a minute and then stop. There is no quality problems or buffering during this time. In task manager on the server ffmpeg starts with playback and then goes to 0% just before the video freezes as if it thinks it has finished. I have tried toggling throttling, quality settings, thread settings and hardware acceleration but all have the same result. I have also tried updating to the beta server but to no avail. Does anyone have any advice? server log.txt ffmpeg log.txt
  7. I am currently using the Podcast Plugin (LOVE IT @ebr) to watch all of the video podcasts that I subscribe too. There are a number of the podcasts that I listen to that are over an hour and a half long. Sadly, I often don't have time to watch the entire episode in one sitting. When I stop watching the podcast, the plugin simply marks the podcast as watched and moves on to the next episode. However, as I was not finished watching the last podcast, I would like for the plugin to support resume playback functionality in the same way that the server supports it for movies or TV shows. First, is this possible to have implemented, and second, if it is possible, will it be implemented?
  8. The last couple days I noticed the Chapter skip behavior which used to skip to the next TV episode, now just skips a percentage of the show you're watching. Is this intentional? If it is can we get full episode skipping tied to the channel buttons or something? The wife is sweating me on this one.

Bug - Playback not OK in Firefox

Hi, I've noticed that since latest stable I can't play anything in Firefox normally. Subtitles doesn't appear with movie (even if chosen in list), resuming or changing position causes error in A/V sync... Anyone seeing that?

    Android Playback Buffer

Doesn't the android client keeps some kind of buffer? If I replay the song, it still takes a while, cause it wants to start streaming from the server again; is it not already buffered? Also, if I skip back to beginning, shouldn't it just start playing. It seems it's contacting the server again to get data, something it already played. The track is like 3 minutes long. It doesn't buffer anything at all?
  11. Hi guys. This will be my first post in this forum, as I am "evaluating" Emby (so far so good, very good in deed). I read up on how to post an issue, I hope this will be in line of what is expected. I believe that Emby Server is set up correctly, since I have my library present in Kodi after the addon installation. Many movies have been working just great, however, some don't. It seems that the playback started, but I still see the library in front of me. The playback is actually started in the background, but the movie is not playing. It is just a backdrop of the actual movie, like this: I am running Emby Server 3.0.6000.0 and Emby Addon 2.2.18 Kodi version is OpenELEC 6.0.3 (based on Kodi 15.2 Isengard) Here is a Kodi log file: http://sprunge.us/fbOQ, and Emby log file is provided via an attachment I hope that someone of you are able to pinpoint the problem with ease, anyway, I will be very grateful with any kind of suggestion on how to handle this! Best Regards!! //Henrik EDIT: When testing more movies, I found out that some more movies don't play. But these don't start at all, I receive an error message that says: Playlist Can't find the next item to play That is quite strange, because I have not created a playlist. But this is maybe related to the other issue?! Emby 3.0.6000.0 logfile.txt

    Videos Dont Play

Luke, Videos do not play if logging into Web Client, or ET web version (tv.emby.media) via external IP address. This issue just recently popped up since installing v3.0.6000. I only use external IP at work, so I just found this out. Theme songs work fine, but if I press play, or resume... nothing happens. Will send you a log via PM. Hope you can find the issue, watching YouTube sucks!

    Tunein plugin has no sound

I have been using Emby without any problems for the last 6 months. It is a great product. I am currently having an issue with the TuneIn radio plugin. I installed it, but no audio will play. All the images and things download and look good, but when I click play I get an error in my web console. I have tried several different radio stations with no luck. I also checked the TuneIn site and it worked fine. I am using the browser and have tried it on Firefox and Chrome. Attached are my server logs and the console log from Chrome. Emby version: 3.0.5984.0 stable TuneIn version: 1.0.5810.30121 Firefox and Chrome are both up to date Thank you in advance for the help! emby.home.lan-1467649093679.log server-63603226353.txt transcode-5b2f1756-8476-4409-98e4-e6ea3eedd0c5.txt
  14. When playing a movie in some browsers (mainly Chrome) if res/bitrate menu is pulled up and the account is set to absolutely no transcoding the movie will stall or crash if the bitrate/resolution is changed. Initially it will show "Direct Play" but once change "Direct Play option disappears. The next picture will show that "Direct Play" disappears once it has initially changed to anothe Bitrate/Res. Granted sometime depending on browser you are able select a bitrate/res higher then the file and it will go back to "Direct Play" but lots of times it will just crash until transcoding is turn on and changed during playback. Proposed solution: Simply add an option under "Users>Profiles" called "Direct Play Only" which will disable the menu to change bitrate/res and should disable/ grey out the following option under "User/Profile" when enabled: 1. Media Playback > "Allow Audio Playback that Requires Transcoding" and "Allow Video Playback that Requires Transcoding" 2. Sync > Allow Syncing that Requires Transcoding for the log the log that has the issue is 7/12/2016 URL: https://fileserver.jpwservices.net Username: emby Password: 12345

    Playback error - Android app

I am suddenly getting Playback error: There was an error processing the request. whenever i try to lay back most Live TV channels (a few SD channels stream fine). Error also appears when ever I try to stream other media files that have worked fine before. Everything was working fine late last night, then I took an hour or so break and came back and am having thirs issues ever since. I have 3 Android phones (1 is MM and the other 2 LP). All 3 phones have the same version of the app and all now show error. Stream on PC via Chrome still works fine. I have restart the phones, Emby server and the PC the server is installed upon. Still having issues. Logs attached. Log.txt Log (1).txt LogServer.txt
  16. Hi there, I have a problem with the Emby app for Android: In our flat we have two servers (one is mine, the other is my roommate's). My roommate's server (Win 2012 R2) hosts the movie library while I use mine for testing purposes. I also installed Emby Server on my machine to test streaming to my chromecast device which works perfectly. Unfortunately, chromecast streaming does not work with the other server. I can log in and play stuff on my phone, but as soon as I establish the connection to chromecast ("Ready to cast") nothing is happening when I press the play button. We also use a HTPC with Kodi and the Emby plugin (Emby Theater as well) to watch movies from the server and it is also working fine. The server uses port 80 for http local and 443 for https local. We also set the port settings to default, but no change so far. Same applies to firewall settings, we disabled it entirely, but no luck. Any ideas? I am running out of things I can try Help is much appreciated!
  17. Recently I have had massive issues with emby, all my devices are having issues. Fire tv is the worst. Everything is playing back in extremely low quality, low bitrate and the resolution must be around 240p. Everything else just refuses. Chromecast plays 1 minute properly then gives up, emby theatre for windows just refuses and the html5 player in chrome is the only one that will work. Any ideas.

    Sync to folder - questions

I've been testing the Sync option as a way to create android friendly versions of my 1080-MKV files instead of transcoding and I have some questions. 1. I installed the folder sync plugin and added a local directory as the target. The media was converted to an mp4 file but never moved from the AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\sync\uuid\ folder that was created. Should this have happened automatically? 2. Is there a way to monitor which movies have been synced? 3. Is there a way to clean up syncd movies to remove old ones? 4. Even when I had sync a movie to an mp4 file and then tried to play it back via the web client the server logs showed it still used the mkv one, is this the correct action? Thanks Brian
  19. Hello. Movie playback does not start from the beginning and transport commands (skip forward, skip backwards) often do not work. For example, I can start movie playback and it may start ~10 minutes into the movie. If I try to skip backwards (to beginning) it will only go back to where the movie originally started (10 minutes in). Also, clicking on the movie progress bar (not sure what it is called) to adjust where I want to move to in the movie playback seems goofy. Does not appear to work or does not indicate actual position in the movie. Can not seem to get this figured out and not seeing similar issues when I search the forum. I have used Media Browser with Windows Media Center Edition for years and it has been great. Moved to Emby Theater and became supporter... My library consists of VOBs (all ripped using DVDFab Main Movie feature). This library method worked great for Media Browser but have been unable to get proper playback with Emby Theater. Anyone else with similar issues? Thanks Dan
  20. So I have a problem I am trying to figure out. Some files. All seem to be mkv files have an issue where the video never playes even remotly as clear as the original file. Even if Im playing it on the same machine the server is running on. Its not all mkv files just some shows do this. Im not sure how to fix it. An example where the streaming works fine it the show Game of thrones. I ripped and converted my blueray disk of the series into MKV Files. These play absolutely perfectly in 1080p. I would say they even look better than the original blueray disk. But lots of shows such as the show Arrow which I happen to have in MKV format do not play clear at all. I have the playback resolution set to 1080p without any luck. Here is what it lookes like playing the original file in VLC Media Player. How do I fix this issue? Here Is the File playing in emby

    Emby only plays one song

I have an Emby server setup on my Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) machine. The machine is a Lenovo B560 and has decent specs. I have an extensive music library which is fully indexed by Emby (~1500 albums). When I click on an album to play it, all the songs will be put in the queue and Emby will play the first song fine. However, after that, it will refuse to automatically play the next one, despite it being 'Up next'. If I look at the queue, it will show the first song as playing, even though it is long finished. When I eventually give in and press the button to play the next song, it does so fine. This is annoying, as it means I am unable to play more than one song when I am driving, and it's frustrating enough in the house. So what is the reason for this strange behaviour? Is it a misconfiguration issue? If not, how can I fix it?

  23. Good day, I really enjoy emby server. Thanks for such a great application. I upgraded to 3.0.5972 under ubuntu 14.04 LTS and now my mkv files do not stream. Emby is responding with an error message when trying to stream the file. I have attached a complete log with debugging(dlna included) turned on. The error message in question occurred at 17:22.25. It seems that the videoStreamer does not like the Embed on the end of the http url. An mkv file with no embedded subtitles streams fine. I can recreate the error if I paste the url into a web browser(opera, iexplore). If I remove the Embed from the url the file loads fine. Attached is the xml output of the error message after I paste the url into opera. Here are the steps completed to try to reslove: Clean install of emby-server complete with file and db purge - same issue I have rebuilt the server with a clean ubuntu 14.04LTS foundation re-install emby - same issue Also, it seems that emby is not scanning the video files for chapter thumbnails - I could not see any error message in the log regarding that. Any assistance to resolve would be wonderful. Thanks, G server-63601089558.txt error.xml
  24. I was testing a test movie file, and the web client crashes at around 32 minutes of play back. It doesn't matter if I skip through the video or watch it to the point, the video crashes. I've attached my three logs relating to playback, and it seems that FFmpeg is throwing an exception somewhere. Any tips? A little bit of extra information, it crashes in the web player AND on Chromecast. I've tried the video straight in VLC (just the video file, not DLNA) and it plays the section just fine. remux-c8cb89d2-a6f3-44a7-9364-73b75a9e4e70.txt remux-c990a73f-5972-4ea5-9633-76da4e1bc127.txt server-63598778350.txt
  25. For whatever reason, lately I've been having issues with playback in ET. I'll start to watch a TV show, and after about 1 second of playback it just stops playing, and then skips to the next episode. Just now I had ET skip through 4 episodes in a row like this; each time playing the first second of the episode and skipping to the next one, until eventually an episode (now 5 episodes ahead of the one I intended to watch) plays normally. I've tested these episodes in Windows Media Player (Or whatever it's called in Windows 10 now, I just upgraded to Win10 not long ago), and they all play just fine. They're all in .MKV format. If there's any more information I can provide that could help, please let me know and I'll try me best.
