Hi, I am having a problem with LiveTv from ServerWMC. I can play a channel and it start and will always stop after a second or so. I have tried Chrome, IE, android clients for the playback using MB and they all behave the same. I have tried very low to very high bitrates. Always stops. Machine1) MediaCenter running on Window7 with ServerWMC version: 1.0.0.52, build: 1175 Machine2) MediaBrowser 3 Server running on Linux (Debian) 2015-01-08 00:00:00.1262 Info - App: Application version: 3.0.5482.1 I have attached all the logs from a play attempt. For the attached files I tried setting ServrWMC BufferDelayLiveMS to 5000 and it did play for 5-6 seconds vs 1-2. I am just after some clarification around setting up MBS. I have MBS installed on a PC that has all my media on it. I then have another PC in my living room with MBC installed on it. Do I need to install codecs either on the MBS PC or MBC PC to be able to play all file types including .mkv files and also have external subtitles working? I have read about transcoding and not sure how it all works and if I need to configure anything to get it all going.

I'm hoping you can help me resolve this issue. I am running the latest dev version of the server. If I access the season first, it loads fine). MBS crashing randomly - System.OutOfMemoryException error

I have been seeing the System.OutOfMemoryException error pop up while in the dashboard. Sometimes the server crashes, sometimes not. It crashed again this morning at 12:17 (I was not in the dashboard at the time), so I thought I would upload some logs and event warnings related to it. Maybe someone can look at this and get a better picture of what is happening. I know there is another post on this error, but I didn't want to hijack it. If there is anything else you need from me, please ask and I will do whatever I can to help you. Hi all, Recently installed server on a new box and have found that, on scanning a show, MBS is pulling an "extrafanart" folder along with the following images: banner.jpg clearart.png fanart.jpg landscape.jpg logo.png poster.jpg I was expecting the old style (backdrop1, etc). Is there a way to make this happen or is this now the expected behavior ?

I wanted to see if anyone else would find the capability to create a Queue Tab from any of the clients useful? I would find this useful for my large Movie collection and possibly for TV series. The ability to go through my collection occasionally and Queue up 10 to 20 Movies that I would like to watch in the near future would be a plus. This would create a Queue Tab accessible from any of the clients. It would also be nice that once an item has been flagged as WATCHED in the library, then it would be removed from the Queue. I know there are options to mark items as Favorites (If it is in my collection, then I already consider it a Favorite) or to create Playlists (Clearly this is for Music and not Movies or TV Series). I was just wondering if this ability (especially for Large Collection users) would be considered useful?

I would like to know what is the proper way to label foreign/forced subtitles? In this example "Avatar" I have two english subtitles (the foreign one is for the foreign-only speaking parts in english and the full english subtitle for the entire movie). There are many movies and tv shows that I have subtitles for that use the foreign/forced subtitles but on the web client they always appear as "Unknown". I have tried embedding the subtitle using mkvmerge and labeling them foreign or forced but they appear as unknown as well. , Web Client: Foreign subtitle does appear properly labeled under details Web Client: "Foreign" external labeled subtitle appears as Unknown in selection

Maybe someone already requested this and I haven't set my setup correctly or it was requested and shot down or doin' so would mess up some other great aspect of MBS.... but is there anyway to get an option or feature for MBS where the Genres can be consolidated? For example, I regularly use MBS with MBC, WPMB and W8.1MB and in ALL OF THEM the action movies are sometimes in crime or in family or family animation movies are in animation but not family, in what I can only determine as whatever Genre is fetched first is utilized as the genre and/or whatever is in the XML file as the genre. (eg. <Genre>Comedy/Romance</Genre>) The genre being "Comedy/Romance" literally. So in addition to having all the normal genres, I have about 30 to 40 "sub-genres" that look like... "blank/blank" My point and/or question is, is there a way MBS can just take either side and place the same movie in a list for both "Comedy" and "Romance" or in the example of movies with three or more genres, "Action", "Comedy" and "Thriller"? Searching for a movie based upon genre or the type of movie mood I'm in, currently sucks. If I'm mistaken in anyway and there's a work around, I apologize in advance and THANK YOU.

@@Aphid Can a filter list be added to the anime plug-in that would allow users to manually add the tags they wish to filter out when fetching the metadata? For example, Dragon Ball has some tags/genres that I dont particularly care for such as "Pantsu", "Nudity". I would like to still be able to fetch ALL the genres but at the same time filter out the ones that probably are not necessary to include. The feature could be a text box where the user has to type the tag/genre they wish to filter out. The other method is if the plug-in can fetch the list from anidb somehow then that could work too by allowing the user to move the tags from the ALLOWED box to the REMOVE box. Both methods would work fine but I imagine the first suggestion would be easier to implement. Why not just use the genre cleaner plugin for this? Explained here

Mediabrowser server version 3.0.5424.1 and MB bookshelf plugin 1.0..5198.29005 As of this new server version it seems that the MB Bookshelfplugin doesn't seem to read the file "metadata.opf" which is created by Calibre. Would like to ask the developer of this plugin to fix this.

I often have MB suggest a movie on a selected item that is actually the trailer for that film. How do we avoid this from happening?

Hello Dev, I don't know if I am the only who is experiencing this issue but lately when I watch something the status doesn't change. I also noticed my content in trakt.tv isn't being updated as well. I don't have any logs to provide at the moment since I am at work but when I get home I will send one after watching something. P.S if I manually set the status to played in the web client it changes itself back to unwatched. It could be they are being overwritten by trakt.tv since I am getting a lot of failed 'sync library to Trakt.tv' notifications but none regarding 'Import playstates from Trakt.tv. Regards,

One of my favorite features from another home theater software I use is shared libraries. My friends and I like the ability to share and stream content from each other. Are there any plans at Media Browser to add the ability to load multiple servers to your library? Here are a few suggestions: The ability to add multiple servers to Media Browser Theater The ability to add multiple servers to apps...like iPad Integrate all libraries, so they are mixed into one giant collection An indicator on the movies that would be streamed vs local An indicator on the movie from what server it came from. So you can call your friend and discuss the movie you watched from their collection Adding non-editable metadata to your local server, so you can still apply maximum allowed parental rating to users Instead of loaning my movies out to friends and trying to remember who has what, this is a much safer and easier method. I really enjoy using Media Browser and feel these features would be extremely valuable to other users. Thank you for your consideration.

Hello Guys, I didn't know where to place this so I placed it here. If it needs to be moved, please feel free to do so. Alright, Let me get to it. I just decided to get an XBOX as an extender to use with Windows Media Center and Media Browser Classic. As we all know XBOX does not play MKV files. All my files are MKVs. I would like to write a script or use an existing one with minor modification to mass convert all my movies and tv series from MKV to MP4. I am not sure what I do know about MKV to MP$ to be true so I am asking for some help. I have read several threads and everyone has their own take on this. This is what I know so far. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. MP4 must only contain AAC or AC3 tracks to be compatible with all devices. Converting MKV to MP4 is a resource hog and it is super slow. To speed the process MKV can just change the container to MP4 which is super fast. A lot of MKVs are encoded in H.264 which means the video part does not need to be re-encoded. It can just be copied to the new container. Also there will be no quality lost. Now if you have an MKV file with a DTS track, you may want to change the video container but remux the audio to AC3 or AAC. But AC3 requires the user to have a receiver. Otherwise, it will be force to be transcoded. AAC is the most common track. It will playback in all devices. Someone suggest to add an AAC track as well as AC3 to all MP4s to ensure that the file does not require transcoding ever. Also if someone has already done that, by all means, share the info. Can backdrop support be added at the TV Season level in the Metadata Manager? Backdrops are only added at the Series level and I can't add a backdrop at the Season level in Metadata Manager. If they are manually added in the Season folder then the Metadata Manger will display it, but there is no way to browse or add a backdrop.

Are the following two (2) requests possible for future enhancements to Auto Organize? 1. MULTIPLE WATCH FOLDERS. I would like to see an option to have multiple Watch folders set up. Would reduce the effort of moving files around to one drive and watch folder, especially larger DVR files. 2. INCLUDE / EXCLUDE FOLDERS. I would like to see an option to either designate the folders to be included for scanning and additions, or the ones you would like excluded. I have duplicate folders for some TV series. (One for HQ DVR recordings and One for processed MKV or MP4 copies.) It would be nice to designate by either collections set up (I have a TV Series Collection and a DVR Collection in library), or at the share folder level on what you want to make available as a valid directory for moving files once they are placed in the watched folder.

Would it be possible to allow users to modify their libraries folder path. I just purchase a new router, Airport extreme, and while configuring I realized apple only allows users to pick one of the three pre config ip ranges. None of them matches the range I had before. Mediabrowser unc path was set using the nas box ip address. Now It's a totally disaster, after I added the paths to the server hostname (can't make the same mistake twice), mbs starts to add the same contents all over again. It's been two hours. Hopefully if implemented, it may help someone else. Stupidness. Now I have to go around changing everything I have configured with ip addresses.

Guys, Would it require a lot of work to add folder monitoring for new added contents or changes to a library share? I always have to update my library manually when I add something(s) that are off my schedule task hours. I can't set a bunch of schedule tasks to run. I want my nas to be able to go to sleep. Aslo any ETA on SB, CP, HP scan notification?

MBS - Make Chapter Image Extraction during regular Library Scans optional

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to read my feature request. What I would really like to see is a toggle option to enable/disable chapter image extraction during normal library scans. I spent some time reading through the forums on the subject, and saw that this was actually added as an ease-of-use feature back in July, but it has the opposite effect for me: I tend to add media to my system on a fairly regular basis (usually 1-2x a day, ranging between a handful to several dozen episodes), and tend to do so in preparation to watching some of it using MBT. The problem is that if Chapter Image Extraction is enabled, the Library Scan moves at a snail's pace, and taxes my puny little CPU enough that media playback is a stuttering mess for the duration, which can be up to 15-20 mins (vs. 20-30 secs with it disabled). However if it is disabled, I don't get any chapter images whatsoever. I have a task set to extract them daily starting at 2AM, but as it stands I have to remember to disable extraction every morning and re-enable it before going to sleep for it to it to work. The item description for the toggle even specifically recommends not running the extraction during peak usage, but as it stands there is no easy way to do so. If you could create a toggle for this function, you would really be taking a huge weight off of my shoulders - I'll be changing servers soon as I am presently using a laptop as a temp, and as such will have to run the extraction on all of my media again, and it would be really helpful to not have the system freeze up all day because I forgot to hit the switch in the morning (Last extraction took 12 days of running 6 hrs a day, hopefully it will go faster this time on a desktop CPU...). From where collects mbs metadata for music albums? The reason I ask is that the release date and year is wrong ... but on the http://musicbrainz.org/release/51ee119d-40b3-3b5e-b0a5-1a33ab051ef3, Release date and year the correct.

@Luke would you be a dear and make an app for us that provides movies and tv shows recommendations/suggestions based on items currently in our libraries. I would like to open my horizon a bit to new stuff. There are tons of databases like rotten tomatoes, trakt.tv, IMDB already have that implemented and can be access through their API. I wouldn't recommend this being built into MB since many may not care much for it. An app would do just fine. #crossing my fingers

Just recently (didn't look into it until tonight, but I think I noticed something a couple days ago) the Artist "Weezer" suddenly got changed to "Raditude", which is a name of one of their albums. Now, looking at that in the metadata manager it looks like this. Now, when i try and go back and change it back, MBS keeps thinking it's an album, not an artist or album artist. I tried deleting all of the corresponding info in Windows explorer, but it still keeps it as Raditude. I'm looking right now for some related logs. Only seems to have happened to Weezer, as far as I can tell.

Hey, I think it will be great if there is a option to browse TV Series by their Studios. Because MBS only downloads thumbs from internet to local memory (like below image), but are of no use. One more feature request, It is already a great feature that shows language of subtitle. In my collection there are some dual audio movies i.e. English, Hindi Audios So it will be better if MBT will show Audio language also. Also sorting by audio language option is a plus. What do you guys think, is this possible?
