  1. Since the latest update (3.0.5781.1) the server will flash a message on the clients every time the library is scanned that a new unknown episode has been added. I looked at the server logs but not sure what I should be looking for. There is nothing shown in the auto-organize history and that is how I add shows. Any of the movies that I have added show up in the recently added items just fine. Not sure what may be causing this. Please let me know if there is something that I can look into to figure this out. Cheers, UPDATE: So, I restarted the server and here is what I think may be the issue: 2015-11-15 01:52:46.2529 Info - App: Removing virtual season Extras Season Stuffages 2015-11-15 01:52:46.2551 Debug - 2. Hi. I am just only a week with Ember and I have lots of questions... Let's make one: I have the "save metadata and images into the media folder" and "Download artwork and metadata from the internet" options checked. Sometimes, landscape, poster and logo images are not saved into the movie folders. For example, if the server does not have internet connection during the library scan or it is aborted somehow (restart/shutdown the server), some of the images are not downloaded. Then, when there is again internet connection or a library scan is forced, the missing images are downloaded. They can be correctly seen in the Metadata Manager and in the Movies Library, but, however, they are not saved into the movie folder, whatever I do afterwards. In order to make them be saved, I have to delete the whole library, restart the server, add again the media folders, let them be scanned without any interruption and, then, everything is correctly saved in their place. Is there any possibility to force these images to be saved into the movie folders without having to delete the whole library and start the library scan from zero? Thanks!

    Library scan frozen

Hi, everything was working fine yesterday. Since then I have added a few episodes and updated server to 3.0.5502.3522, but the library scan will not go beyond 10.1%. I have left it for over 10 mins without a change. Not sure if the issue is with the server or one of the episodes (more likely) Here is the latest server log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p193mgy0dgx7x46/server-63557690395.txt?dl=0 Edit: After 22 mins it has gone from 10.1% to 10.8%

    Half hour library scan

My MB3 server takes from 15 to 45 minutes to run a scan. When I start the server I cant do anything until the scans done when I add a new file its starts the scan again the new file doesn't show up in the server until the scan is done. it hangs at 10% everytime. it spends most of the scan at 10%, 10.1%, 10.2%, 10.3%, etc then hits about 11.3% and quickly climbs to 69.9% and hangs again then slowly climbs to about 84% then jumps to 99% and done. It does this every time I start MB3 or add new non-auto organized files. attached is my last log from a server restart where the scan took half an hour with no new files added server-63556428487.txt
  5. Hi, and thanks for taking the time to read my feature request. What I would really like to see is a toggle option to enable/disable chapter image extraction during normal library scans. I spent some time reading through the forums on the subject, and saw that this was actually added as an ease-of-use feature back in July, but it has the opposite effect for me: I tend to add media to my system on a fairly regular basis (usually 1-2x a day, ranging between a handful to several dozen episodes), and tend to do so in preparation to watching some of it using MBT. The problem is that if Chapter Image Extraction is enabled, the Library Scan moves at a snail's pace, and taxes my puny little CPU enough that media playback is a stuttering mess for the duration, which can be up to 15-20 mins (vs. 20-30 secs with it disabled). However if it is disabled, I don't get any chapter images whatsoever. I have a task set to extract them daily starting at 2AM, but as it stands I have to remember to disable extraction every morning and re-enable it before going to sleep for it to it to work. The item description for the toggle even specifically recommends not running the extraction during peak usage, but as it stands there is no easy way to do so. If you could create a toggle for this function, you would really be taking a huge weight off of my shoulders - I'll be changing servers soon as I am presently using a laptop as a temp, and as such will have to run the extraction on all of my media again, and it would be really helpful to not have the system freeze up all day because I forgot to hit the switch in the morning (Last extraction took 12 days of running 6 hrs a day, hopefully it will go faster this time on a desktop CPU...). Thanks again for taking the time to listen to my petty problems:-)
  6. I'm moving from MB2 to MB3 with the server and MBC client installed on the same PC. I used a local "metadata" folder in MB2 with episode jpg and xml files in each TV season folder and movie.xml files in my movie folders. I want to keep using the same local metadata setup in MB3, and I don't want it to be auto-updated. I was careful to uncheck the "Download Metadata From the Internet" and "Save metadata in local folders" boxes in the Dashboard Metadata section before creating the libraries on the server. When I clicked on "Scan Library" after creating my libraries, The xml files in all of my local folders were changed or replaced. The xml files are still there, but they have date stamps that show they were changed during the library scan. For one thing, the "Overview" tag is missing now in all of my xml files, so Chocolate doesn't see any show descriptions. Could someone please explain how the metadata is handled in this MB3 client-server relationship? I had assumed that the "Library Scan" function is used to update the server with what's found in the local content folders, but that doesn't seem to be the case. When the "Library Scan" is initiated, what gets copied to where? Does the server update the local metadata, or is it the other way around? Where is the xml data stored on the server? When I look at the metadata in the Chocolate theme, where is Chocolate getting the metadata from? Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Ok, This is my first time reporting a problem so bear with me if I miss something. I am following the 'how to report a problem' thread so hopefully I've got it all covered. The issue concerns MB Server. I'm using version 3.0.5050.37565. My physical 'server' setup is a bit odd. The machine is a Windows 7 (64bit) box, Intel i7, 3.4GHz processor, 8GB RAM. The media files are spread over 16 hard drives in Addonics mini towers that are connected to the PC via eSATA to USB. I was using an HP WHS until about three weeks ago when the server up and died on me so now I have to live with this setup until a new server can be arranged. For the time being it seems to be working. I'm not sure exactly what happens other than to say at least once a day (if not two or three times) during a library scan, a people refresh, a trailer download, etc a out of memory exception error is thrown. Unfortunately, this time I moused over the server icon in my tray before getting a screen grab of the error boxes so I don't have the exact error message but there were five or six message boxes open which seems to correlate to the the six error message on my dashboard. This is generally nothing more than a nuisance as all that happens is the outlying images don't update - that time - and I have to restart the server. That gets to be a pain as it takes the server software sometimes as long as 15-20 minutes to reinitialize and populate my different collections (movie folder, TV folder, etc). Anyways, screenshots and log files are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/g0zpz3ep0czox7y/-TyCJvLg_J. I wasn't sure which of the log files to include so I've uploaded everything over the last 24 hours to that dropbox folder. If this is just the growing pains of beta software I completely understand. If there is something I can do on my end please point me in the right direction and I'll take care of it. If you need more info just let me know what you need and I'll throw it in the DB folder asap.
