    HDHomeRun EXTEND log behavior

Public Service Announcement Since I've lost two EXTENDs already to "reset reason = application watchdog" I've been paying closer attention to what my EXTENDs do. Here is what they sit at now (number is the last segment of the IP address): 100, new as of a month or so ago. 19700101-00:00:20 System: reset reason = application watchdog 19700101-00:00:20 System: E5592573 0000000E 004E2D68 0042D3A0 00432724 0040D9D0 004DDCEC 004DDCC0 19700101-00:00:20 System: 00506E0C FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 19700101-00:00:20 System: network link 100f 19700101-00:00:21 System: ip address obtained: 192.168.0.100 / 255.255.255.0 20180415-06:00:50 System: time changed from Thu Jan 1 00:00:37 1970 to Sun Apr 15 06:00:50 2018101, about 19 months old and the most used of the three. 19700101-00:00:17 System: reset reason = application watchdog 19700101-00:00:17 System: E5592573 0000000E 004E2D68 0042D3A0 00432724 0040D9D0 004DDCEC 004DDCC0 19700101-00:00:17 System: 00506E0C FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 19700101-00:00:17 System: network link 100f 19700101-00:00:18 System: ip address obtained: 192.168.0.101 / 255.255.255.0 20180401-06:00:53 System: time changed from Thu Jan 1 00:00:34 1970 to Sun Apr 1 06:00:53 2018102, about 19 months old and rarely used. It's almost like they deliberately rebooted themselves at 6am. The question is why? Did the log get so full it had to purge it? I don't think this behavior is in error because nothing was recording at the time. Still strange and something to be aware of.

    Mis-identified Channel Art

Background: My setup is Emby with an HDHomeRun Extend (along with my local library). This has been happening for a while (since the channel movement), but I didn't particularly care until I was using LiveTV primarily through Emby (since I finally ditched cable). Problem: Sometime last year or so, there was a shift in local channels. MeTV was dropped by one Affiliate (and later picked up by a lower-strength signal that I don't get, but I digress) and Bounce moved from one channel to another. In other words: <Sometime last year> Channel 2.2 = MeTV Channel 36.2 = Bounce <Now> Channel 2.2 = Bounce Channel 36.2 = ThisTV The problem is the channel lineup keeps incorrectly setting the channel image to MeTV (2.2) & Bounce (36.2). HDHomeRun is properly identifying the channels (that's how I learned 36.2 is ThisTV). SchedulesDirect is properly identifying the channels. The channels are properly identified in the Program Detail when looking at the program details (both Roku & Web -- I'm assuming this comes from either HDHomeRun or SchedulesDirect?). But, the Channel Art ("Primary Image") is set to the incorrect image. I've manually attempted to set the proper images (well, I did try for 2.2 a few times -- I still don't know what ThisTV is, and probably don't care), and it eventually reverts back to the old art. I've deleted the images and performed refreshes (rescans?) and it reverts to the wrong images. Which is leading me to wonder -- what is causing it to revert back to something it used to be, and how do I get it to stop? Things I've tried: Deleting the Primary Art (though, deleting Primary Art while creating this post got 36.2 to identify correctly.... at least for now) Setting the Primary Art to the correct channel art (eventually it will revert back) Updating Firmware on HDHomeRun (I did this during this post as I realized I was a tad out of date -- not that I looked to see what bugfixes I have in it) Things I haven't tried: Creating a fresh install of Emby (I was thinking of doing this in a VM to try something out, but thought I'd come to the experts first) Calling the station owners for the channels in question and yelling at them for changing things. What is probably pertinent information: Emby: 3.3.1.0 / Linux HDHomeRun: HDTC-2US Firmware: 20180110 SchedulesDirect: USA-OTA-30067 Anyone have any ideas?
  3. One thing I noticed that TVHeadEnd does that Emby DVR does not do yet has to do with keeping tuner utilization down when watching multiple subchannels on the same tv stream. For instance, on TVHeadEnd, when I watch/record something on 12.1 and 12.2 at the same time, it will only use one tuner and split the streams out properly. On Emby, it uses two tuners to do the same, even though both of them are tuning to the exact same frequency. I believe implementing this feature would help reduce the number of recording conflicts seen on people's systems where a tuner isn't available. It should also help with network utilization as there is no need for two duplicate streams just to receive and strip out the ones you want. Great software though. I am moving from a TVHeadEnd/Plex setup on a computer to Emby on a Synology DS918+. Both setups are/were utilizing HDHomeRuns for the tuners. I am extremely happy with it, so much so that I sprung for the lifetime subscription. This is certainly software worth supporting.
  4. I am a new to EMBY came over from Plex, primarily because of the way EMBY integrates my my M3U and HDHomerun on one platform. Running it on a Qnap 251+ with 16GB Ram. I recently installed the QNAP beta build provided by Emby and it seems to run everything just a bit faster than the one I originally got from the Qnap community. However the load times for the HDHomerun and the M3U are slow to load when changing channels take 14 seconds and 12 seconds. When I load on other apps both only take about 1-2 seconds at the most. I have tried some of the recommendations for other post however they don’t seem to help much. I have attached my logs to help maybe get me in the right direction. I access the Emby server via chrome on my Mac laptop and Emby Android TV app through my Nvidia shield. I loaded both M3U and HDhomerun to test and replicate the slowness. Love the product thus far just want to reduce this initial load times. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Log (1).txt Log.txt

    TVHeadEnd, HDHomeRun, Emby, Roku

I have Emby, a HDHomeRun device, the TVHeadEnd (TVH) plug-in for Emby, and a WD My Cloud 4TB NAS. I am trying to set up TVH to be a DVR on my Ubuntu 16.04.2 Linux box. I have Emby set up to have TVH working and I believe I can watch live TV through Kodi, but not through Roku. I am not sure if TVH is giving me that ability to record through Kodi, but because I can't even watch TV in Roku, I am sure I can't record there. I went through the steps to set up HDHomeRun View and Config GUI on the Ubuntu box, but have run into several errors. I have contacted SiliconDust and hopefully will hear back from them in a couple days. My big question is this. Do I need to be able to view Live TV through my Ubuntu 16.04.2 box before the Emby Plug-in will work? Thank You, Mike LaPointe

    HDHomeRun guide data

The HDHomeRun will provide 4 hours of guide data for free. Any chance that can be implemented in Emby? HDHomeRun DVR subscribers get access to 14 days.
  7. Hi folks, The reason for this thread is that I often notice skipping in playback of some recorded shows, whereas watching those channels live via the HDHR viewer shows clear live playing of the same channels even minutes before the recording. My theory is that small faults in the data stream aren't noticeable when viewing live in the HDHR viewer but along the way become more noticeable during whatever encoding/decoding happens in the path to watching a show. I've noticed using Emby to play live these same channels at the same times of day that there will be some glitches, not seen just moments before when watching with the HDHR software. This strengthens my suspicion that it's something in the way Emby or the Emby player handles the data. We will start with the TV towers for the channels in question, which are visible to me on a clear day, about 8 miles away, across the flat Indiana landscape. The 8 miles is filled mostly with single or two story homes, no big buildings in between. My antenna is this one, which is plenty strong enough to receive lots of channels from even much farther away: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GIT002/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's, outside, in our screened porch area, well mounted and shielded from wind, connected via quad shield RG6 to the HD HomeRun Extend tuner. (note, I also have this stronger one up in the attic, and it's TOO strong; I get more reflections and stuff with it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018BZJNS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) If I open up the HDHomeRun ConfigGUI, I see something like this, showing strong signal strength and great quality. For most channels the quality figure stays above 95%; even a few channels where it drifts up and down in a range of 75-100% play just fine and glitch free on the HDHomeRun viewer. Small dips in quality (but still 75% or better) DON'T EVER result in a visible/audible glitch in the HDHomeRun viewer. Just now, I watched several minutes of glitch free football (I hate football by the way) in the HD HomeRun viewer. Looked fine. Then I switched to watching via Emby (Chrome browser, clicked on the guide entry). Within a minute I counted three glitches where it lost perhaps two - three frames, no audible glitches, and MASSIVE comb filter visual artifacting all the time (presumably due to interlacing not being cleaned up). If I go to the MyHDHomeRun page, and use the web interface to check on the tuner status, I see this: Of note is the Transcode Profile "heavy" which I understand is 1080x1920 at 30 fps, so typical for a 1080i signal I suppose. Here is the profile for this tuner: So, as I understand it, I'm telling the tuner to do NOTHING to the incoming data; it will send out whatever stream it receives. I changed channel to a lesser channel... showing Night Court reruns. This channel (6.3) is also 100% strength and steady 98% quality, but watching in Emby (Chrome, clicked on from guide), gives LOTS of glitches that have not corresponding events while watching the Config GUI. Switched to yet another channel (8.1). 97% strength, signal quality 90% (symbol quality steady 100%), lots of glitches in Emby viewing. No glitches watching via the HDHomeRun directly (from ConfiguGUI, it launches Windows Media Player, on my Win7 box). This latest channel, showing a baseball game, shows Transcode profile "None" (1080p as I understand it) Here is where I admit ignorance: I'm not too familiar with the EMBY settings that would impact any of this. If I go to Server admin, Live TV, I see my tuner and Schedules Direct information. Settings at the top of the page gives me options to convert to a streaming friendly format (I've checked this, yesterday, wasn't checked before), as well as preserve original video and audio. I'm not aware of any other settings that impact what exactly gets stored during a recording, or what processing happens while watching live TV (in this case via browser). I'm on my home network (gigabit ethernet, so presumably no transcoding needed) Please advise!! In Emby Theater, (on my Win7 PC) while watching Live TV, more of this mind numbing baseball because it's an important channel, I'm noticing significant comb artifacts, that get a lot worse when not full screen (no surprise). All my video settings in ET are default. I will also try downstairs (where I usually watch TV, on a Win10 box that holds server and ET), but I still see some video glitches (dropped frames, sometimes with lost audio), that doesn't happen while watching via HDHR directly. I've heard mixed reviews on changing Enable Deinterlacing to Yes (from Auto)... what's the current thinking? Anyway, the main issue is the dropped frames that aren't due to weak signal since I don't see them when watching with non EMby software. What further troubleshooting can I do, and what logs would make sense? I normally watch TV maybe weeks or months after it is recorded; I don't want to record many episodes of glitchy stuff at the beginning of the season then have to troubleshoot this later... trying to get ahead of it. Thanks for your help!! Marc

    Hdhomerun video stream corruption

So i'm getting a ton of garbled, pixelated, and freezing from any HDhomerun stream I load for livetv or dvr. The video stream is fine when tested on hdhomerun software on windows box, android phone hdhomerun app. I've upgraded my entire OTA antenna/coax setup to rule that out as well. Attached is screen grab of signal readings for channel This happens on all OTA channels with hdhomerun. My iptv tuners work just fine so seems like something specific to the hdhomerun. Server OS: Debian 8.9 Emby version: Version 3.2.30.19 (also downgraded to stable 3.2.30 and that didn't help) HDhomerun: HDHR3-us x2 with newest firmware (20170815) Client: Chrome browser on win 7 64bit (for this example) but also tried with amazon fire table hd 8, and Roku premiere+ In this example i'm playing the local ABC HD channel and it is being transcoded to my chrome browser. Example begins around 4:02ish pm today with hdhomerun tuner 192.168.1.185 in logs Any ideas on what is causing this? ffmpeg-transcode-8b71de66-4f68-4080-8e96-42b6b40ae0e5.txt server-63640944000.txt

    HDHomeRun Transcoding on Android TV

I am trying to watch Live TV using an HDHomeRun Prime, mostly on an Nvidia Shield. Via the native HDHomeRun app, everything works flawlessly. However, when trying to stream in Emby, the transcoding starts successfully and the ffmpeg speed quickly drops below 1x. I have an Intel i5-6600, and the OS is Ubuntu 16.04 Server. I've tried hardware transcoding and software trancoding and just about every configuration in the transcoding setting I could think of (super fast, ultra fast, changing CRF, moving transcoding directory from HDD to SSD), and nothing has worked so far. I have the transcoding issues with streaming on Chrome on my laptop, too. I've attached 4 log files, one pair of server and transcoding logs from when I was trying hardware transcode, and the other when trying software transcode. Any advice you guys can provide would be great. I'm a happy Plex switcher because of a huge number of bugs with their software lately. I find yours to be far superior, and if you could get this working for me, I would have a family of converts! serverlog_hw.txt serverlog_sw.txt transcodelog_hw.txt transcodelog_sw.txt

    HDHomeRun not showing channels

I have setup my HDHomeRun and it was previously working but has since stopped. I am currently on Emby server version 3.2.20.14 beta. Emby does not show any channels from this tuner. Before I would get 2 tuners for each HD HomeRun tuner (4 in total), but now I am only getting 1. I know the turner is working as I can use other apps to see the channels. When I go through the server log I find the following errors... 2017-06-27 07:38:08.1008 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: http://my.hdhomerun.com/api/lineup?DeviceAuth=O%2F7omAE9PKZY2vJowCWM342T 2017-06-27 07:38:08.1754 Error App: Error getting channel list *** Error Report *** Version: 3.2.20.14 Command line: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Processor count: 4 Program data path: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server Application directory: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<>c.<GetLineup>b__16_1(Channels i) at System.Linq.Enumerable.WhereListIterator`1.MoveNext() at System.Collections.Generic.List`1..ctor(IEnumerable`1 collection) at System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList[TSource](IEnumerable`1 source) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<GetLineup>d__16.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<GetChannelsInternal>d__18.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.BaseTunerHost.<GetChannels>d__9.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.BaseTunerHost.<GetChannels>d__11.MoveNext() System.NullReferenceException at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<>c.<GetLineup>b__16_1(Channels i) at System.Linq.Enumerable.WhereListIterator`1.MoveNext() at System.Collections.Generic.List`1..ctor(IEnumerable`1 collection) at System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList[TSource](IEnumerable`1 source) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<GetLineup>d__16.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.HdHomerun.HdHomerunHost.<GetChannelsInternal>d__18.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.BaseTunerHost.<GetChannels>d__9.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.BaseTunerHost.<GetChannels>d__11.MoveNext()

    HDHomerun Channels

I just purchased emby premier and schedules direct. This is the first time I have played around with this software and I need help understanding where I go to configure the channels that are available on my HDHomerun. When using the HDHomerun utility, I get about 70 channels, after adding the tuner to emby and entering my zip code in the schedules direct account and same zip code on the schedules direct interface in emby, I only see 7 channels. I have been browsing through all of the pages in emby (logged in on my single account through anther PC). I cannot find where I go to add or remove channels that display in the guide. Maybe I need to be logged in on the computer that the server is running on?

    Live TV spinner

  13. Hey Folks, Is there a way to limit the Tuners Emby is allowed to access on a HDHomerun? I thought of the 3 Tuners, you could remove/specify which ones Emby could see/use.. I'm on version 3.2.13.0 (in W10) and I don't see any such options any more... Did I imagine it in the first place? I've reconfigured WMC to only use Tuners 1 and 2 - and I'd like to set Emby to use Tuner 3 only. I have DRM channels that have kept me on WMC for Live/Recorded TV, while all other Media I have was long ago migrated to Emby. I'd like to start moving all non-DRM channels over to Emby to shake it out and ensure the TV functionality works as well for me. Intentions are to reduce the level of TV service I have at some point - eliminating the DRM channels, and shutting down WMC. I see in testing that Emby always picks the first (available) Tuner, whereas WMC seems to be more random. So, maybe the simplest thing is to change WMC to use Tuner 2 and 3 for now, and leave Tuner 1 open for Emby. Though, I'd prefer to restrict Emby, so it doesn't have access to pull one away from WMC, since WMC is still the primary TV source for now...
  14. When playing a Live TV stream the app defaults to full quality. When I try and change to a lower bitrate, the app stops playing and displays an error: Playback error: There was an error processing the request. Please try again later. Android app is 2.8.39 and Emby is running 3.1.2.0 on a QNAP NAS. Android app log and server log are attached. 5760c215-6535-4a20-a41c-628d5f29a1b3.log server.txt
  15. Instead of allow hardware transcoding option Can we get something like this for the HDHomerun Extend
  16. Okay the goal of this little script was to remove unwanted TV channels, in my case this dealt with SD channels where I had an HD option available, or foreign language, shopping,..so on and so forth. #Include <Array.au3> #Include <File.au3> ; /////////////////////////////////////////// ; // Array Remove Channels ; /////////////////////////////////////////// Dim $aChannelsToRemove[1] = [0] $aFileList = _FileListToArray( @ScriptDir, 'Remove Channels *.txt' , 1 , True ) For $ii = 1 To $aFileList[0] Dim $aCurrentFileList _FileReadToArray( $aFileList[$ii] , $aCurrentFileList , 1 ) For $jj = 1 To $aCurrentFileList[0] If _ArraySearch( $aChannelsToRemove , $aCurrentFileList[$jj] , 1 ) = -1 Then _ArrayAdd( $aChannelsToRemove , Number( $aCurrentFileList[$jj] )) $aChannelsToRemove[0] += 1 EndIf Next Next _ArraySort ( $aChannelsToRemove , 0 , 1 ) ; /////////////////////////////////////////// ; // Process TV Tuners ; /////////////////////////////////////////// $aTunners = StringRegExp( BinaryToString( InetRead( 'http://ipv4-my.hdhomerun.com/discover' , 0 )) , '"BaseURL": "(.+?)"' , 3 ) For $aa = 0 To UBound( $aTunners ) - 1 $aActiveChannelList = _JsonTVChannelList( $aTunners[$aa] ) For $bb = 1 To $aChannelsToRemove[0] _ArraySearch( $aActiveChannelList , $aChannelsToRemove[$bb] , 1 , 0 , 0 ,0 , 1 , 0 ) If NOT @[member="Error"] Then _ToggleChannels( $aTunners[$aa] , 'disabled' , $aChannelsToRemove[$bb] ) Next Next Func _JsonTVChannelList( $URL ) $sBuffer = BinaryToString( InetRead( $URL & '/lineup.json' , 0 )) $sBuffer = StringMid( $sBuffer , 2 , StringLen( $sBuffer ) - 2 ) $aChannels = StringRegExp( $sBuffer , '{(.+?)}' , 3 ) Dim $aCurrentChannelList[UBound( $aChannels ) + 1][5] = [[UBound( $aChannels )]] For $ii = 0 To UBound( $aChannels ) - 1 $aCurrentChannel = StringSplit( $aChannels[$ii] , ',' ) $kk = 0 For $jj = 1 To $aCurrentChannel[0] $aCurrentElement = StringSplit( $aCurrentChannel[$jj] , '":"' , 1 ) If $aCurrentElement[0] = 2 AND StringInStr( 'GuideNumber|GuideName|VideoCodec|AudioCodec|URL' , StringReplace( $aCurrentElement[1] , '"' , '' )) <> 0 Then $aCurrentChannelList[$ii + 1][$kk] = StringReplace( $aCurrentElement[2] , '"' , '' ) $kk += 1 EndIf Next Next Return $aCurrentChannelList EndFunc Func _ToggleChannels( $URL , $Status , $Channel ) Switch $Status Case "disabled" $tgl = "x" Case "star" $tgl = "+" Case "unstar" $tgl = "-" EndSwitch InetRead( $URL & '/lineup.post?favorite=' & $tgl & $Channel ) EndFunc Save the above code as an .AU3 file...you of course need to have AutoIt installed for the script to work at all. Next you need to create one or more text files that list a channel number per line. Each file must be named as "Remove Channels *.txt" with the Asterisk being replaced with whatever you want. Each file must be saved next to the AutoIt script. Simply run the script and in a few seconds and it well be done. You can check your handy work by going to the following URL on your Network: http://my.hdhomerun.com/ Then clicking on the Channel links for each Tuner. Everything can be reversed by editing line 32...change 'disabled' to 'unstar' and run the script again. This has been tested on a HDHomeRun Prime, but should work with any other product made by SiliconDust.
  17. I've just purchased a HDHomeRun Connect and having issues getting all channels recognised in Emby, If I use the HDHomeRun app on my Shield TV or the HDHomeRun plugin in Kodi, then all the channels show up, including the channel icons. I have checked the server log after re-running the Guide Refresh and there are no errors, it's just not fetching everything. Anyone got UK OTA channels to show correctly in Emby please ??

    HDHomeRun EXTEND transcoding profiles

I have three general classes of devices I run Emby on: -Windows PCs, they would prefer MPEG2 -Amlogic S905/X, they would prefer MPEG4 "heavy" "mobile" -Surface 2 & smartphones, they would prefer MPEG4 "mobile" There's two situations: 1) Live TV: I assume Emby can request a specific profile from the HDHomeRun EXTEND and I also assume this isn't being done. If it is being done, then I get the impression it is broken because the default profile set in each EXTEND impacts the streams that are played from it. If it isn't automatically figuring this out, I'd like to be able to set it in Emby Server where Emby Theater requests MPEG2 and everything else gets MPEG4 "mobile." Is this possible now? It is possible to add? Is it something that will be added? 2) Recordings: This is where things get iffy because Emby Server itself isn't the destination where the video will be consumed. I think the best solution is to be able to select a transcoding profile on a per recording or series basis. For example, I know some series only get watched on the Windows computers so it would recorded as MPEG2. I know series may be watched on tablets or Amlogic boxes so it would be recorded as MPEG2 "mobile." Then there is sports events of all kinds need to be recorded as MPEG2 or MPEG4 "heavy" because MPEG4 "mobile" looks like crap. Is this possible now? It is possible to add? Is it something that will be added? HDHomeRun EXTEND are powerful little devices but options in Emby appear to prevent them from being used optimally. Edit: Apparently MPEG4 "heavy" is too much for the Amlogic 905/X devices. Here is what MPC-HC got off the recording: Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 29.97fps [V: h264 high L4.0, yuv420p, 1920x1080] Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 384kbps [A: English [eng] (ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, 384 kb/s)] Here's an MPEG4 "mobile": Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 29.97fps [V: h264 high L4.0, yuv420p, 1280x720] Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 448kbps [A: English [eng] (ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 448 kb/s)] That is of a football game which would definitely be at least 1080i. It appears "heavy" doesn't change resolution where "mobile" does.
  19. Hi all, I finally got a DLNA compatible HDHomeRun (an Extend, for OTA), so now I want to experiment with Emby doing some recordings. Up to this point I've used WMC to do the recordings (using my older model HDHRs). So, I added my tuner in the server Live TV Setup, got a Schedules Direct account set up and set in the server... now what? Is there a guide for setup? My main motivation, other than moving gradually away from WMC, is to use technology other than WMC to do the recording. I have always gotten random glitches in my recordings with WMC that I don't see on those same tuners when watching live. So, what are the next steps to getting this going? I haven't yet found a guide. Sorry if I missed something obvious. Thanks Marc

    Cannot view liveTV anymore

Hello, I have an HDHomerun Prime setup with WMC on a windows 8 machine running ServerWMC and Emby. As of last week I can no longer watch LiveTV through Emby (phone app and PC). WMC works fine. ServerWMC shows one of the tuners in red and channel says <unknown channel>. I tried disabling all antiviruses, updated to the latest versions of all apps and still no luck. Please help!
  21. Is it possible, or will it be added, to have the ability to sync the channel groups in Emby with the channel groups i already have setup in nextPVR?
  23. Hello I have a hdhomerun in my network for live tv. I however would like to use DVBlink (using the provided server plugin) and not the built in hdhomerun support. Whenever i delete the hdhomerun tuner it is added again after i go back from "home" to "manage server". Ill try to make a movie and upload it here to show you.
  24. I recently purchased a HDhomerun Dual so I can watch Livetv using my OTA antenna and Emby. I was able to setup the device on my network (hard wired) and got it to work using the Silicon Dust "HDHomerun" App for Windows 10. The tuner detected several channels for my location here in Toronto, Canada. I then configured Livetv in Emby for the Tuner and selected Schedules Direct as my guide provider. I provided the userid, password, country, postal code and antenna for the Schedule Direct information. I have refreshed the data guide several times and tested again the next day but I get no channel information. I am a newbie at this and tried looking for information on how to setup the HDhomerun tuner for OTA antenna but could not find anything. At this time, all I want to do is watch live TV and don't need the DVR functionality. I have included the log file. Any help would be much appreciated. server-63611909495.txt
  25. As per the recommendation on another thread, I upgraded the firmware from 2015something to 20160630atest2 (not seeing how to downgrade it). This fixed the problem on Emby Theater's ability to DirectPlay but it completely decimated Android and Android TV support. It should be noted that I upgraded Emby Server from 3.0.6060.0 to 3.0.6070.0 at the same time. I attached the server log. The Leelbox MXQ Pro device it is sending it to does require transcoding done on the server. -Android TV (attached) gives an error and stops transcoding on the server almost immediately. -Android maybe only shows one frame that was transcoding and it locks up while the server continues to transcode oblivious that it is falling on deaf ears. -Emby Theater does DirectPlay with no issues. leelbox.zip
