Greetings, Out of the blue, Emby for Kodi is no longer able to log into my server. Instead of the welcome pop-up message, I receive an error warning, telling me to check my log. I haven't made any configuration changes recently and don't know what could have caused this. My log is attached. Thanks!

Lately I noticed that Emby does not always update new added media in Kodi. To get all new media I have to manually do an update of the libraries I miss things. That process takes some time if it needs to update multiple libraries. Running Kodi 18.2 Emby Addon 4.0.20a Last two Kodi logs. kodi.log kodi.old.log Thanks.

Hi Angelblue, Tags are no longer visible in kodi after updating to server 4.2.0.40 and doing a library repair or reset, they are visible and working before the repair or reset on 4.2.0.40. I only tried on emby for kodi 4.1.10. Thanks.

Hi, I am noticing for a long time very slow deleting of movies/episodes directly from Kodi via Emby remove/delete option. When I remove an episode,series,movie it takes about a minute before deletes it from the Kodi database (however, it deletes the files instantly from the server). I tried it with two boxes with LE with Kodi 17.6 or CE with Kodi 18.2 and 18.3 on Minix U1 and Minix U9 boxes. I tried fresh install on both. Also I am using Emby server 4.1.1.0 on Windows 10, and the latest 4.1.4 Emby plugin on Kodi. Oh and also - its the same if I use Native or Add-on mode. If I just remove file directly from Kodi via Manage-Remove its deleted instantly from the Kodi database but of course the file is not deleted. Is this normal behavior and if so - can it be optimized,speed up? If not - what else can I try to fix this. It used to be much quicker in the past, but I can't remember on which versions (defenitely it was Emby server 3.x and some much older Emby plugins). 2 more questions: * Cache Artwork option - since I think 4.1.3 it doesn't do anything when I choose this action in Emby menu - is it disabled right now? * With Kodi 17.6. when I choose Clean Library options (when some movies/episodes weren't deleted properly via Emby) it worked correctly - it removed all files that were not present anymore. With Kodi 18.x this options removes entire Kodi library (when using Emby). Is this a problem with Kodi or Emby or both? With 18.x I need to use Emby Repair library which is much much slower. Noticed today that my VC1 remuxes are being transcoded by the server when playing them via Kodi. I'm not certain if this is new behaviour as there's not that many in my collection. This appears to be happening with both Windows Kodi clients and a Vero 4k+ - both can play the same file if i browse to it directly with the file browser. I can't see a force transcode option for VC1 in the Emby to Kodi app settings - can I edit something somewhere to tell the server that VC1 is fine on these clients?

All of the sudden I am experiencing an issue where every time I start Kodi, Emby for Kodi is asking me to choose the initial options like it does the first time you set it up. Even if I do and let it scan everything again it will just prompt for it again the next time. I have attached my Kodi log. kodi.log

Hi In kodi, settings, media, videos, you can set the default selection action. So for example, you can set "resume" so that when you play content you had previously played but not completed, instead of asking you whether you want to resume from where you left off or start from the beginning, it will just resume without the prompt. The problem is Emby for Kodi add on does not respect this setting, and it continually pops up in the emby window asking if i want to resume or play from the beginning. Is it possible for emby for kodi to respect this setting in Kodi? Or alternatively is it possible to create a setting whereby you can choose the default selection action of resume with the emby for kodi settings? It sounds minor, but it is very important as I'm implementing remoteless kodi (voice control) and this popup prompt on whether or not to resume is interrupting the hands free process. I always want to resume whenever I play any content! Thanks

Hello. I have Emby for Kodi running on Shield TV. I have two Shield TVs and they appear to have exact same errors. Today I noticed that as soon as Kodi starts up, Emby does not load and asks to check the log. When I check the log. It shows NOTICE: EMBY Patch --> 404 Client Error: NOT Found for URL: Https://codeload.github.com/MediaBrowser/plugin.video.emby.objects/zip/181167249 when I check github manually. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/plugin.video.emby.objects/releases I see 181167248 but not 181167249 Thank you in advance.

Hi I am having trouble with missing artwork. A few shows, show artwork but the rest are empty, even after a Database repair with cache artwork enabled. I can get artwork to download on each show individually by opening the emby option menu on each show and selecting refresh this item. Log attached, Thanks.

Hello, I tried to install Emby for Kodi (Liberary Addon) on my MIBOXS and the shows are sync and I can play them, but no artwork is downloaded to kodi. I have 2 Instances of OSMC on 2 Raspberry Pi's and all works ok. Is there any bug in Kodi Leia? Emby Server: Version 4.0.2.0 Emby for Kodi: Version 4.1.2 What can it be?

Hi there, Emby for Kodi updated to latest beta version 4.1.1 and reports all video filenames as "file.strm". Playback settings are set to "add-on" as it was in previous versions which worked properly and transcoding is set to off. Problem is that i can not use kodi's internal subtitle search option because the filename showing shows "stream" as a filename. Thanks

There are many mistakes in the Kodi Log in this regard. Do you see what it could have done? Hi, Using latest Emby server (4.1.1.0) on Windows 10 with latest emby for kodi plugin beta (4.0.26a) I'm having 2 seperate issues related to music playback: 1) Clicking on a song within an album from the Emby web interface casting to Kodi plays the first song in the album rather than the clicked song, to play the actual song intended I have to click on the more button on the song then click play. I think this issue is probably a server problem than a plugin problem though. 2) clicking instant mix on a song (or album or any other level) from the emby web interface casting to Kodi only sends the first song to Kodi and not the entire generated playlist, which means once the first song finishes playing it just stops, however in the emby server it shows the full playlist generated. Hi I've done a database reset to try and fix a problem with Music Videos not playing but I'm now getting a sync error on MV library, Movies, TV Shows and Music have all synced OK. I've tried removing the video files that appeared to be causing the problem but it just fails on another one. I'm running Kodi 17.6 with 4.0.13a but I've also tried 4.0.27a with the same result. Hey, In a recent beta version the "Add permanent users…" setting got changed from a string to a selector. The problem is that when users are hidden from the login screen in Emby, they're also not shown in the selector in Kodi. I can probably unhide the user temporarily and re-hide them again after adding in Kodi, but maybe there's a better way?

With the latest (4.0.25a, Emby 4.0.7beta) version I'm consistently unable to start playback if a sync is in progress. The resume dialog is shown (if applicable), then the spinner spins indefinitely while the sync continues in the background. Pressing esc/return in that state returns in playback error being displayed. I'll be sending you the full debug logs in PM.

If Kodi is syncing and you reboot Kodi, it won't continue syncing like before, you will have to start like the old days when you didn't have that feature

Kodi for Raspberry Pi 3 B 18.2 Emby for Kodi 4.0.23a Emby Server 4.1.1.0 (Running on Windows 10) Only just started happening in the last day, but any time the Emby context menu appears (Play from start/resume from X) The video fails to load, so anything on the homescreen under continue watching, or anything under the 'Movies' subheading either part watched or fully watched also fails to play. Unwatched movies seem to play fine. (Edit: just after creating log file, I attempted to play some other random Movies, unwatched, part watched, and completed and nothing played at all) For troubleshooting I have done the following: Restarted Emby Server Restarted Kodi Restarted Router Restarted Server Resinstalled Kodi & Emby for Kodi Addon Completely removed local database and rebuilt. Everything plays fine in a browser both locally and remotely. I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you! Hello all On emby server If I manually add two or more versions of a movie to a group version that do not reflect on emby for kodi. I have to do a complete manual refresh of movie library for that change take effect. Is this expected behavior? If you need a log let me know. Later I can send it. Thank you very much.

My Fire TV happens to support h265 encoded videos just fine, even in high bitrates, but it cannot deal with h265 10bit. The Emby app for the Fire TV handles this perfectly - it direct plays the 8bit h265, but will auto transcode 10bit h265 to h264. Now with Emby for Kodi, if I activate "transcode h265/HEVC", it will transcode both 8bit and 10bit h265. If I deactivate that, it will direct play 8bit and hang on 10bit h265. "Transcode Hi10P" doesn't seem to have any effect. Is there any way to make Emby for Kodi transcode only 10bit h265, but still direct play 8bit h265?

Hi @@Angelblue05, After updating to 4.0.19a from 4.0.16a, media no longer plays in Kodi. This is on the Synology platform using Emby 4.2.04 beta, and Emby for Kodi installed on an rpi 3+. Rolling back to 4.0.16a resolves the issue. I've attached logs. Let me know if there is any other information you would like me to provide. Cheers, DarWun P.S. I should add that the logs are from playback attempts made without rebuilding the library after the update. Having said this, I rebuilt the libraries after initially upgrading earlier tonight to see if it would resolve the issue. It did not. I don't have the logs from the initial post upgrade library rebuild. I rolled back to the previous Emby for Kodi version before grabbing the logs. Hi, Emby Server version is 3.6.0.73, when i sync the themes with Emby for Kodi 3.1.34a, nothing will happen, no folder with the tvtunes.nfo file will be created in /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.emby/library/. When i downgrade to version 3.0.34, it works normally. And is it possible in the future, when i have a new movie/tvshow, that the theme will also be automatically added to Kodi? It's irritating to sync every movie separately. thanks in advance

Hi just wanted to let you know that pooling stopped working for me since I updated Emby for Kodi to version 4.0.5. @Angelblus05 would you be able to have a look. Has something obvious has changed in the latest version? I tried to library repair but no luck. Please let me know if you need any logs. Thanks you.

After downgrade to 4.0.14a all is working again. EDIT: I revert this in 4.0.15a: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/plugin.video.emby/commit/c34fa246c5963abb5e7218b0d044b95736fe0865 and this: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/plugin.video.emby/commit/711b5a7951db1e05593b5954eb097e9595db50e6 and strm files working again.
