On YouTube, and a few other streaming services, if you hover over the volume controls and move the mouse scroll wheel up or down, it will adjust the volume level accordingly. This is easy to implement and would make volume changes a lot more intuitive for those who are used to streaming services with this feature. It's something that I've gotten used to doing and not having it just feels weird

It would be great if there were a voting system for movies and TV series (episodes) so that Emby users could vote. This way, the movies would have a new rating based on the opinions of Emby users. Also, it would be beneficial to have the option to filter based on this rating. Thank you very much!

It is possible to add an option to start the channel without showing the schedule first. At the moment you choose the channel and show what is on at the moment and then start the channel. I would like to start the direct channel after selecting it in the channel grid

Now convert media only support to choose codec and quality. Please add support more such as max & min bitrate, max resolution and copy subtitle. That can be great to manage medias

One of the security issues of having my server in a public-facing enviroment is a "brute force" attack where various passwords are attempted against the server to gain access. A good security policy to adopt is if, after 10 or more failed attempts, the IP address is blocked from further login attempts and the date/time, IP address, and account name is logged for viewing by the server administrator.

Maybe I did not find a config somewhere, but is there a way of having a global preference regarding langages & subtitles languages, and also, is there a way to keep the same setting between all the episodes of the same tv show ? Flow : - I watch the first episode of a TV show - I setup my languages preferences for subtitle and voices - I go to next episodes, they are not kept - Same for a further episode when i will add it The trouble : - Open emby - Launch an episode - Realize the language is wrong - Changing it : somes lags occurs (because my android tv is old) Thx

Server 4.8.1.0, Windows Server 2022 (21H2, 20348.2322) After upgrading to the 4.8 series, it seems like there is a regression in how episode numbers are detected. Specifically, it seems to be overly aggressive when scanning for multi-episode names. For example, a file with the following name: Dragon Ball Z - 01x19 - Defying Gravity (Digitally Remastered) (x264 - 2E253212).mkv ... makes Emby believe that it is a multi-episode file from episode 19 through 253212. As a result, it causes the scan to grind to a crawl, as it tries to get metadata for all those episodes, regardless of whether they exist or not. This definitely wasn't the case for pre-4.8. Besides renaming all the files, is there something I can do to get the previous behaviour back? Thanks!

Hi can we please have an option to detect and skip the credit sections of each episode, in TvShows? ** same functionality as the skip intro Also can we have a config option on how much time is taken after the detection (cutoff point) ? In most tv-shows the cutoff of the intro is too fast, and we are loosing precious scenes in the beginning (very annoying) for example in Law & Order. Thanks! Hi. I'd like to request a category for I guess you'd call it "Radio". I have a ton of Old Time Radio shows and dramas I'd like to bring into Emby. I'm just not sure what I'd call them at the moment to make sure it all get indexed in a way that made sense.

I really like the "Latest" feature on the Home screen — there just are not enough, 18 videos and 16 photos. Can this be increased to, perhaps, 50 of each. (Or better yet, could it be User Definable through Settings?) Thanks for your consideration.

I have searched for something similar on the Forum and found nothing. Not sure if this is an easy addition to the code. Since it appears that the Emby Server start-up procedure hits a point where all the plug-ins are loaded, would it take much to add a toggle to NOT load any OPTIONAL plugins that are not part of the core system? I could see this as being a great help in troubleshooting problems. Or could optional plugins be stored in a different folder. Then if you want to try a "Clean" system you could simply move/rename the plugins folder. Just a thought.

Everyone in my house has a different account on emby. We play everything through it, on our phones or TVs. Plenty of times I'll mention a song or show to one of my sons, but due to the size of our media library, things could be difficult to find, or remember exactly which episode or song I mentioned. In any app there could be an indicator showing that another user has sent you a recommendation. Open user recommendations and it would have all recommendations that you received from any of the various users of that server. Select the item and it takes you to the piece of media. <user> thinks that you would like <media>

Hi Emby. I would like to be shown premium usage under devices, and what premium feature used, and drop out date. It's really hard to keep track off. Personally I have not at any time reached the limit, but some sort of status, would be nice.

So, assumed I have movies/shows and their soundtracks on my server, wouldn't it be nice to link them together and show the availability of the soundtrack on the page of a movie/show. Maybe go even further and show the cover and tracks, a bit like extras, instead of just a link to the album? Oh and play it in background (a bit like the theme-song plugin). Matching/identification could be done via album-artist/artist and album title on one side, and composer plus movie title on the other side.

you should add skip credits like you have the skip into as there are lots of movies and shows that have scenes after the credits.

I currently can hardly use the search function, as searching for all file types through all of my libraries takes too much time (usually around 5 minutes for a simple query) since my libraries are pretty big. Could we have some options on the search page to restrict the search to a specific library, i.e. search only movies or music, for the entered string? Also, the immediate start of a search as soon as I begin typing into the search box causes delays for me - I would prefer to input the search string, then press enter to start the search.

Would it be possible to have dynamic metadata updates on for ratings like imdb, rotten tomatoes scores etc.. As these score are constantly changing and without doing a full refresh which can take time. I just need the ability to update the scores only. Thanks

If it's possible, I would like you to add HDR10+ to description. If a movie is DolbyVision, it says so in the description. If a movie is HDR10, it says so in the description. If a movie is HDR10+, it just says HDR10. So there's no way of knowing if I'm going to watch a HDR10+ movie or standard HDR10.

It would be nice to be able to control the number of threads used during thumbnail image extraction, since the current logic uses only 1 thread and makes the initial process quite slow. Maybe this could be set dynamically? Such as using many threads when the server is IDLE and decreasing it to 1 when the server is being used (playing a movie for example)? I thought there was already something for this, but I can't seem to find it. I'd like to see Mate-data languages in the language that the user sets. So for example, if a user has their device set to Dutch, all meta data is displayed in Dutch, whereas the same item would be displayed in Spanish if the user has set their device to Spanish. Movie/series posters in the display language of the device would be a nice addition to this as well

When clicking on a TV series image, it is VERY easy to accidentally click the green check mark that marks the entire TV series as watched. Can you implement a confirmation dialogue box that will popup to confirm that choice?

But why not use this for default settings instead of CSS customization? If prefer, can make a validation of you’re using an paid subscription service for this feature. Example: when the application (Android/iOS) is searching the server check for any subscription. If you have an subscription, he looks for an URL or the image file itself (I think it’s more “simple”* for an URL on Imgur of your logo with an image default size like 200x67). This parameter could be added on server options tab or on settings tab of Emby also. *Disclaimer: I work with development software and I know this isn’t simple enough to be developed. I’ve used the “simple” term for describing the setting name/section.
