  1. Hi, I used for months Emby server (3.0.58xxx) on my Windows 10 PC. It detected my DLNA renderers perfectly (Samsung TV, Freebox Player and Marantz-CR610) and I can play my music on any of them by the "Play to" button. Today I have reactivated the automatique Emby server updates and I get the 3.0.5911.0 version. With this version, the "Play to" list only shows "My device", all my DLNA rendrers have disapeared. I've tried to restart my three devices, but still nothing in the "Play to" list... Where can I download an earlier version of Emby server (3.0.58xxx) to use my renderers as I used to until today? Thanks. J-C
  2. Hello, Running Version 3.0.5882.0 on my computer connected to RouterA. When My Xbox One is connected to RouterA, I have no problem seeing my Emby server on my Xbox (from the "Media player" app) Here the problem: I connected a new router, RouterB to RouterA. My computer continues to be connected to RouterA. However, now my Xbox One is connected to RouterB. I no longer see my Emby server on my Xbox (from the "Media player" app). Do I need to do some sort of port forwarding for RouterA/RouterB? I was able to verify that another laptop can connect to RouterB via WiFi and I can successfully see the Emby server in a web browser using the local IP address (192.168.0.10:8096) Any thoughts? Thanks! Rory
  3. First of all hello to you all! I am new to emby, and so far I really like it. The reason I need a better media center solution is our son I have a problem when trying to access with our DLNA TV, a LG 32LV5500-ZC (it is a little bit old, I think from 2011, but OK). I have installed it on my PC, the operating system is Arch Linux. The server version is Version 3.0.5882.0. When there is no media library created in emby, I can access with the TV, and an empty folder is shown. The log looks then like this (with DLNA debug logging enabled): 2016-03-17 11:26:39.5421 Info HttpServer: HTTP SUBSCRIBE http://10.20.30.8:8096/dlna/3a0c4f1202ea033c45a6f313b73a99cb/connectionmanager/events. When I open up the emby app on the iPad, I can access the share and stream a movie. What could be the problem? Do I need a profile for the LG TV? Do I need to make a path substitution? There is already Samba installed on the PC, and other clients can access to this share. If it is not possible that it works with our LG TV, would a Chromecast help - and to use emby via Chromecast? Thanks for help or hints!

Sonos Connect no more listed in Play To

Hello, I do not know if this issue occurs since Emby Server v3.0.5882 but it is a recent one (it worked correctly with v3.0.5870) : my Sonos Connect is no more displayed in the Play To drop list. It is still discovered from the Win10 built-in feature and I can still play music directly from Windows Explorer, so it is not an issue from the network layer (including the firewall) nor from the audio gateway, also nor from my ADSL box. Could you please help me (and all those how are having this problem) ? Many thanks by advanced. B.R. Eric D. J.
  5. Hi all, I've spent many time searching on the web for an answer to my problem and found nothing. Obviously, it is not a bug in Emby so I won't open a bug report. The facts : - I've installed Emby Server on a Windows 10 PC and it worked flawlessly with the browser client for a couple of hours, especially the "Play To" on dlna devices (Samsung Smart TV and Yamaha Amp, both connected to network) - For easier machine uptime, I've installed Emby Server on another Windows 10 (x64 family) PC which is directly connected to TV and amp - When installed, Emby web didn't show my TV and my amp in Play To but found others applications like Kodi - I made a new fresh install of Windows 10 on the machine. Get avast, Chrome and Emby server running : TV and amp were back in Play to (hurrah !) - After doing more software installations on this PC, TV and amp vanished again from play to (argh !) What I tried : - Checked all network config : no problem (and indeed W10 can access and cas to these devices) - Unplugged and plugged the devices and reboot computer - Reinstalled again W10 from scratch (3 times) but never get back my devices in Play to - Installed other DLNA chrome apps for testing : they can't detect these two devices too - All other castable devices are OK from this computer (e.g. Kodi or other browers) - TV and amp can access Emby Server by DLNA from their side - TV and amp are visible on network and I can cast on them from the culprit computer with W10 self play to (from edge or WM) - Installed again Emby on the first computer : devices are invisible The Emby Logs don't say anything about Play to after enabling full debug. I've tried many, many, many things (disabling firewall and antivirus, running the whole with admin rights, plug and unplug devices...) but it still looks like Windows is preventing Emby Server or Chrome from detecting these two devices despite IT can see them. It's really frustrating and I clearly missing something but what ?. Hope someone will have some ideas or the key to this problem
  6. Hi, I'd like to report some bug that is really flooding my server log sometimes (Still haven't figured out what triggered it yesterday). I have "Blast alive messages" enabled in DLNA config, because without that my TV eventually removes Emby from DLNA list. 7. External subtitles are not working when playing something over DLNA. I have the subtitle profile in the DLNA profile for .srt as External Download. And I can see from the logs that the profile is getting loaded correctly. I can see the subtitles when I play the movie from the web portal. Also if I change the Subtitles profile in the DLNA profile to "Embed within container", I can see the subtitles, so the subtiles are recongnized by the server. I am trying to play this on Philips HTS3564. I am using dev build 3.0.5902.22871. Also tried the release build to no success. I was following the below thread, which later suggested that the issue was fixed. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/12885-dlna-support-of-external-subtitles/ Any help would be appreciated.
  8. * Yesterday I posted the same issue in the DLNA subforums. If x-posting is not ok, please remove the other post as I believe it is better suited here. Since a few days ago my Samsung Smart TVs (2 in total) are no longer able to find any media on Emby. They do find the Emby server fine but claim that there are no videos/photos/etc. stored on it. I also have a Sony Smart TV which is working fine. I have checked the log files and found the info below. I believe this might be relevant because the TV is called '[TV]Vesta' so it seems to fail at updating something. What can I do to make my Samsung TVs find the media on Emby again? Just for the record, both TVs have worked with Emby for months. They stopped working a few days ago. How to make bigger subtitles

HI Emby Team, your app is really good but till now i cannot understand how peaple looks the movies because the subtitles are too small. I am talking nor for burn in subtitles. In other apps like Ple* there is an option to select small, big, bigger, large. Here there is no option or i cannot find it. Can you support me how to solve the issue. Thank you very much in advance.
  10. Hi, Since the update to 3.0.5871 (I've tried the betas too) I can no longer use the android app, nor the web client to play media to my LG TV. The app and web offers the TV as a target but pressing the green play arrow button has no effect at all. In fact, even using the web client, sometimes the play button doesn't even appear. Happy to post screenshots and logs, just wanted to see if others are experiencing the same issue? Steve.

  12. My specific issue lies with two devices in my home: Sony BDP-S390 and BDP-S5100. Long story short, there doesn't appear to be an acceptable/reliable way to differentiate these two devices using HTTP Headers or DMR responses. Therefore, they end up using the same DLNA profile in Emby. I have 100% reliable playback on the 5100 with disk backups to mkv done with makemkv (DVD backup, MKV, mpeg2video, AC3). BUT, the 390 refuses to play any mkv I have thrown at it. Any suggestions for getting mkv's to transcode to one device while direct playing them to another? Any possibility of doing direct profile assignment for just such an issue? Perhaps an option within the profile to put an IP, similar to how we can designate a user to always use a profile? Not entirely relevant to the questions above, but I'm attaching my current working profile for the 5100, which the 390 uses as well, with failing mkvs on the 390. Sony Blu-ray Player 5100 test.xml
  13. Evening all, I'm basically looking for an answer to the title - Direct play XviD and transcode DivX. Possible? It seems I'm only allowed to specify "mpeg4" in the DLNA profiles so my server has to unnecessarily transcode Xvid videos. If this isn't possible, could I request that this be something to consider in a future release? I'm running version 3.0.5821.0 on Windows. Thanks very much!
  14. Hi I am use a combination of the iOS Emby client and Emby Server for Windows (Version 3.0.5821.0). I browse to the desired video file Ensure the option is set to 'play to' my TV (Samsung) Hit the play button All is well until I pause and then resume playback. At this point the video / audio get out of sync I searched the forum, but the only similar issue relates to playback of recorded live TV. Can anyone suggest a solution or avenues for further investigation? Thanks in advance! Cheers. John

    transcoding needed for DLNA

Hello, I tried something exotic: using plex server and plex web app to select a movie. Than casting it to KODI (on raspberry openelec) or PLEX HOME THEATER (on raspberry rasplex) by using DLNA Very nice to see that it works! However, on my server, I see that the ffmpeg process is transcoding and eating my CPU. The rasplex client is available of receiving full hd without transcoding. This is how I used to work with Plex/PHT combination. But if I want to change to Emby, the rasplex (or openelec) clients are a very good alternative, but I want to avoid transcoding everything I know there is a emby plugin for kodi, but I don't like the concept of syncing the emby-database to kodi (that is in fact what the plugin does). So my question here: is it possible to use kodi/rasplex as a DLNA-client for emby without the need for transcoding my movies? kind regards, B

    Cannot play music with DLNA

My media is on a Synology NAS. In Kodi I can play movies (direct stream) and play music (also direct stream). In my setup it isn't possible to play songs on my receiver trough DLNA Kodi. Browsing just works but not playing. I checked the Kodi log and saw this: EMBY Items -> Processing userdata: {u'Audio': [u'eecfa9a3ccf7eb96b53b85c5dd395866'], u'MusicAlbum': [u'522ded9f3ce788fe5ac17d1146535ca1']} 07:02:48 31731.585938 T:1733293088 NOTICE: Using Image Cache Thread Count: 0 -> 1 07:02:49 31732.451172 T:1733293088 NOTICE: Previous line repeats 1 times. 07:02:49 31732.451172 T:1733293088 NOTICE: EMBY Music -> Update playstate for song: The Sound Of Silence 07:02:49 31732.451172 T:1733293088 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(/nfs) in /nfs://192.168.1.101/volume1/music/Unmixed Compilations/Various/30 Stars - Acoustic/Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound Of Silence.mp3 07:02:49 31732.451172 T:1733293088 NOTICE: Emby musictools -> File does not exist! Is this correct? Because Kodi doesn't seem to find the media when I use DLNA. Play music and movies in Kodi itself is working. What do I have to change in my setup to play songs on my receiver trough DLNA Kodi?
  17. Over the last couple of months, as I've sporadically upgraded emby, I've noticed some content streaming issues via DLNA to my KDL-42W670A. I've had these in the past but was extremely happy with how comprehensive emby was before now. Until Jan 1st I don't think I'd ever actually had something streamed by emby give me an Unsupported content warning. The most understandable is when something will stream, gives the warning, but then audio or video wont work... but extremely confusingly and somewhat telling that something is set wrong in the profile, I have a complete show that plays fine, Audio works, Video works... but displays the unsupported content warning over the top of the show that is playing fine!? I'm happy to dig in and begin tweaking the profile to try and find the source of the issue, but I'm not sure what the best way to begin debugging this issue is. I'm not even sure how I can confirm which profile emby is using to stream to the TV and that the issue isnt emby mistakenly using too new of a profile, one that might be meant for newer sony bravia tvs. Sony's website is frankly useless for this sort of info. I checked the codec support and the show that plays audio and video fine but with the unsupported content warning over the top is using the supported codecs, creating further confusion as to how to get to the bottom of this DLNA issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I updated to Version 3.0.5821.0 yesterday and since doing so have two instances of Emby showing when a list of DLNA servers is displayed on any media device (LG Bluray, PS3). I'm thinking this is due to using both LAN ports on the DS414 but is their an Emby setting to only display one instance?

    DLNA outside my home network

Hello, First of all thank you for all the answers I found on this forum ( permissions on ubuntu, creating users, KODI integration and much more .. ) I am trying to use the DLNA feature of the EMBY app on my android phone outside of my network. I want to watch my movie on my friends smart TV. When I am on my home network (same network as my EMBY server) I click on the cast button on my emby app, I can see my other DLNA devices and stream the content. But when I go to my friends house, connect to his WIFI , start the application, I click on the cast button and I see the DLNA devices of my house not the DLNA of my friend. What am I doing wrong ? Thank you for your help. Slim.

    Smart subtitles

I don't really know where to post, but using a dlna device is where I first noticed it. I went into my user preferences and changed the subtitles to smart since I watch some anime in Japanese and they hardcode the subtitles. Everything works. I was watching izombie and since changing the subtitles to smart I started seeing them when streaming to my Joey. After some research I realized as ling as there was a .srt file it will force subtitles to the video. Isn't smart supposed to only push to the video if the language doesn't match? So if it's in another language and the .srt file is is English it will then show subtitles? Not when the language is eng and the subtitle is eng it shows the subtitles anyways. Am I reading what smart subtitle mean?
  21. Hi everyone, the issues I have is with my Sony TV BRAVIA KDL-32EX521 via DLNA. - When I pause the video and press play the files plays from beginning - When I press Fast Forward the screen goes blank - When I press Rewind the file starts from the beginning I have Serviio and used Plex before without issue. I have attached my logs let me know if you need anymore info. Start looking at log at 2016-01-05 15:38:38.8796 Emby Version 3.0.5783.0 Thanks in advance. Log_160105 sideshowdad.zip

Samsung TV sees Emby DLNA, but no content

I never really used to try DLNA, but remember it worked weeks ago. Now I tried to connect to EMBY over DLNA, but Samsung TV reports no video, music or image content. When I try the same over BubbleUPNP, it works. Hope someone can help me out. server-63587359454.txt
  23. Hi, Need your assistance to look thru the following transcoding logs. The first file is a MKV file and i have no idea why it is transcoding , i have also attached my tv dlna profile for reference in case it's due to some error in the profile The second file i was having issues with is a HEVC X265 file and has anyone got any idea on how i can include HEVC x265 support into the DLNA profile. I have been getting errors when i try to edit the profile and include hevc x265. The LG TV i have definitely supports hevc x265 playback. Thank you and a Happy New Year to everyone. LG Smart+ TV.xml
  24. Hi there! First of all, congratulations on Emby. It's an amazing piece of software. That being said, I'm having a little annoying problem: I can't get the external subtitles in Kodi on OpenELEC (Raspberry Pi) via DLNA to work. I've tried everything I could. The weird thing is that the subtitles work just fine in Kodi in the same machine where I run Emby Server, wich means, I believe, the subtitles are ok. It makes me think it's something in the DLNA process, but what do I know? Better ask the specialists, right? Hahaha I've also tried to send them to my Sony SmarTV and had no luck either. Any help would be very welcome. Thank you.
  25. Trying to send videos to my new Samsung 4K TV but every time I click to play a movie a message on the TV say check internet connection. Of course I have checked my internet connection and everything shows its working. I'm confused on this one. Any ideas out there. Thanks. DLNA shows it as UN65JS9000.
