Hello, As you can see in the screenshots below, something goes wrong with the ID3 tags when browsing the Emby server using UPnP/DLNA. The song artists are interpreted as album artists, and for the songs some ID3 tags are missing. The tags are correct on the server though. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've seen this topic pop out few times, Is there a way to provide folder browsing for dlna same as via webapp folder structure browsing? Basicly when I have a structure like this - Movies ---Directory 1 -- movies here... ---Directory 2 -- movies here... ---Directory 3 -- movies here... --- lots of other movies here... The directores will show up in webUI properly when browsing via "folders" - but DLNA will not show subfolders - evereything will be stacked together on same level - Is there a config file option i need to touch to enable this functionality - every other dlna server that I used has this feature, it is especially useful for music albums, or multiple tv series browsing. I'm using Version 3.2.33.0 under Ubuntu 16.04.

I would love to have DLNA Remote available so we can get more customers and not need to use the chromecast. Currently it is only possible to use DLNA within the same network. If DLNA is available outside the same network, such as Youtube and Netflix, I can use my premiere account better. I hope you take that into account. Hi folks, Since a few days ago we've noticed the audio sometimes cuts out on our Chromecast. I've done some testing and found the following: It only cuts out when transcoding and the audio is mapped to AAC, MP3 works fine. It will cut out within the first few minutes. Usually between 1 and 3 minutes. Stopping and restarting playback fixes the problem for a few more minutes until it cuts out again. I've rolled back the server version to a time I knew it worked OK yet the problem remains. Can anyone replicate this problem for me, just so I know I'm not going crazy? Cheers,

Hi ! I have a screen attached to a Chromecast v2. I have a Raspberry Pi 2, with Emby server with DLNA support. From my iPad, with the Emby official application, I can stream all my movies. But, for each video, there is transcoding, my CPU is > 99% even for videos that don't require transcoding because the Chromecast v2 support it. If I use a simple iPad application to play a DLNA video to my Chromecast (without any transcoding), I can play the same video with less than 5% of CPU usage. So, I suppose this could be fixed if I create a ChromeCast profile to skip some supported audio/video codecs, to be in direct play, but it's really complicated for me to do this because there is a lot of informations to known, and my knowledges are too limited to fill this correctly. I would like to known if someone have already created this DLNA profile and could share it please? Best regards,

Hi all, I use a Chromecast between various TVs in the house, and my son's TV will not play audio when AC3 is being passed through. The other TVs work fine with AC3 so I guess its a limitation of my son's TV. I've looked for a Chromecast profile in "%AppData%\Roaming\Emby-Server\config\dlna\system" yet cannot find one. Could someone point me in the right direction to tell Emby to transcode ac3 for Chromecast? Thanks,

I've using Emby v3.2.20.0 plugin on a FreeNAS server and previously had DLNA running fine, but I was having issues with genres not displaying so I decided to do the I.T. thing of turning it off and on again. So unchecked "Enable Dlna server" click save and re-check "Enable Dlna server" and click saved, but now DLNA doesn't work at all. Hi there, I cannot playback to my Marantz anymore. It worked quite good before. But after the last two updates it does not work. I can select the Marantz SR7007 and start playing but the player bar does not proceed ;( Just on a side node. With my Fairphone 2 (Open OS 17.04.0, with only F-Shop installed) the Emby client also stopped working. I am getting a blank page with the man icon at the top right. Clicking on it leads to some page with programming code showing up. Greetings and thanks again for your good work!

Hi, Luke, how are you? Dude, I'm facing a problem with DLNA transmission. Example When an external client of my network puts the display configuration 480p - 720kbps (or any other) and deproduz the film is chosen, but if it plays the image of the device via DNLA to the TV the transmission rate changes and starts To lock the movie, it usually changes to a higher speed that my upload is able to accept or gets direct transmission and locking. I would like it to respect the rule, if I chose 480p - 720kbps display setup that runs perfect, when I play via DLNA on tv, it continued to maintain the 480p - 720kbps setting that I had chosen not to hang. It would be interesting if you could control the rate equal to the option you have in settings "Maximum Chromecast bit rate" on which I can put 480p - 720kbps ---- Another problem Is that when I mark the "Bit rate limit for internet streaming for example 1 mega and I click save, it goes back to the login screen and does not get marked the option I chose. Bit rate limit for internet streaming, this means that if I have 5 megs of upload on my network and I dial with 1 mega the option, all external users will only use one mega of my connection, correct? Gostaria que ele respeita-se a regra, se eu escolhi configuração de exibição 480p - 720kbps que roda perfeito, quando eu jogar via DLNA na tv, ele continuasse a manter a configuração 480p - 720kbps que eu havia escolhido para não travar. Seria interessante se pudesse controlar a taxa igual a opção que tem em configurações "Taxa de bits máxima do Chromecast" na qual eu posso colocar 480p - 720kbps ---- Outro problema È que quando eu marco a opção "limite de taxa de bits para streaming da internet para 1 mega e clico em salvar, ele volta para tela de login e não fica marcado a opção que eu escolhi. limite de taxa de bits para streaming da internet , isso significa que se eu tenho 5 megas de upload na minha rede e eu marcar com 1 mega a opção, todos os usuarios externos usarão apenas um mega da minha conexão, correto? exemplo, 5 usuarios ao mesmo tempo, 1 mega cada um estaria usando. Hi, I have been using Emby for several years now. Currently used on 2 different systems (Linux and Windows). The issue I have exist on both systems and therefore not specifically related to either Linux or Windows and have been there for very long time. The only common part is that the issue seems to be related to DLNA. The issue: I start streaming a radio channel (TuneIn) via DLNA, at some point it will stop playing. If I start the radio channel again it will stream the exact same music again. The attached logs is for the issue with 22 minutes of streaming music. When I have this issue I have tried to stream the same radio channel to my PC using webbrowser and there it works while my DLNA unit still plays the old stream. Logs: EmbyLog_20170418: Approx 16:53:00 I start the radio channel and it stops by it self after approx 22 minutes. After a few minutes I try to start the radio channel again but notice that it is the same music playing. EmbyLog_20170419: Approx 07:42:14 I start the radio channel again and it stills plays the same as it played yesterday. EmbyStream_20170418: The stream it always start if I try to play the specific radio channel on my DLNA unit, if I choose another radio channel this plays correctly. Another issue but might be related: Sometimes when I stream my music to DLNA unit (FLAC, WMA), especially transcoded music, sometimes the track is played other times it is skipped, seems like Emby was unable to transcoded the track. My systems: System 1: Ubuntu server 14.04 + Denon HEOS HomeCinema. I am having a couple of issues 1. I have a schedules direct account and I am trying to load in emby but with little success of the getting the guide to actually show for my channels. 2. I have enabled the DLNA option but I cannot see the server on any of my TV's in my house. There are other issues but these two are the most pressing for now. Log attached. ServerLog.txt

Hi, I'm evaluating emby since yesterday, to see if it could replace synology audio station for my use case. It almost does a perfect music server, at least for me. The bummer is that some critical functions, that work fine while playing locally, do not seem to work when sending music to a remote DLNA device. When playing music on the local device it's all fine: I see the current playing queue, and can add/remove/reorder items. If I click on the little cast icon and choose a DLNA device, though, like my kodi box for example, then I cannot see the playing queue on the remote device. Nothing at all. The "now playing screen" only contains the current song, there is no list under it. Choosing a song, or an album, clicking the little dots and choosing "add to play queue" has no effect neither. Payback stops at the end of the current song. The one I selected has not been added to the queue on the remote device. My use case is fairly standard, I believe. I have some devices around the house that can play music. I use my phone as a remote control, to send music to one device or another. Not being able to manage the play queue on those remote devices is, for that use case, a show stopper. Is there any chance that this can fixed, eventually? Many thanks for the great work

Hello, i'm here to ask some question. i've an Xbox One S link to a receiver (UHD) to a UHD TV so set the display in 3840x 2160. and Audio in Bit stream. i also have an emby server (linux) so when i use the xbox to play using media player the emby DLNA it works, but not for 4K movie. but, if i use the "watch on DLNA feature" xbox one from my device it use the "Movie player" no more the Media player,it seems the movie player can handle x265 file. so i try to modify the dlna profile (increasing the bitrate, adding x265 and HEVC somewhere) some movie can be seen in direct play, the orther are transcoded, and in stereo. But if i chose from the emby remote fonction to change the audio track, for some movie, it give acces to direct play. And on the Xbox Movie App i can change the audio track and no more transcoding on the server (it appears as direct play). So how can i do to make a simple custom profile for my Xbox One S to do Only direct play for all file not transcoding video nor Audio? [uPDATE2] -> I created another custom profile for 8player client and it did work like a charm! [sOLVED] Hi Guys, I created a custom profile for my mede8er player but so far could NOT get the direct play functionality working, it keeps converting my flacs to mp3 and then stream to mede8er. Is there any way to change default behavior from streaming to direct play for all files? I edited default.xml, added flac into direct play sections, but every time i restart the server, it reloads the original files from somewhere. Hi Guys, Could you please confirm whether SC plug-in for Emby really works? I can browse some of my SC content in the folder tree from a DLNA client but when i try to play any, it fails and keep jumping to next track. I tried with different DLNA clients such as 8player or iMediaShare on IOS as well as with renders like samsung and panasonic smart tvs and mede8er media box but no luck ;-( I'm using latest nightly built of Emby on Windows 10, tried the stable version but its DLNA server functionality is somehow broken. Dears, 1stly, my wishes to all for a shiny 2017!!! I would like to express my appreciation for the valuable efforts & support within this Emby "Technosystem"! Now that Subtitles and Resume functionalities are fully working on Samsung Smart TVs via DLNA, I would appreciate considering support for Direct Play of LiveTV content to DLNA smart TVs. In my case, the Live TV content is an M3U list of HTTP-based mpeg-ts streams (.TS), which is currently direct-played to DLNA TV through XUPNPD DLNA media server. Having the same level of functionality through Emby Media server will be a great addition. More specifically, no probing of streams is necessary and no attributes (size, audio channels, duration,...) are needed in describing those streams when browsing the M3U list through the DLNA TV. hola que tal actualmente tengo una cuenta premium tengo mi servidor emby en una red mikrotik trabajando perfectamente pero solo los dispositivos que estan dentro del mismo pool de ip del servidor puede tener accedor por DLNA , es decir si quiero ingresa por la URL del servidor no hay ningun problema quisiero que me ayuden !!! que puerto debo natear para que un cliente de una red diferente me pueda detectar el emby DLNA... muchas gracias

I've noticed that videos played via PlayTo with DLNA doesn't allow showing subtitles, as if it didn't have one. Can the devs reproduce this? Does subtitles appears when you PlayTo something? Thanks

Hello, I'm using Emby Server (3.0.8500.0) for serving media onto my TV via DLNA. However, subtitles are not handled correctly. Please see this image shot of the media info (attached). My questions: 1.) Why is the first subtitle (subrip) marked as default? 2.) Why is the first subtitle (subrip) marked as forced? 3.) I have set smart subtitle handling in my profile, and set the preferred language to Hungarian. I have the hungarian external subtitle file, but it's not forced. Why? Result: first subtitle is played over DLNA which is english (forced). How can I override it to use my language preference (which is hun, set in profile settings) over DLNA? Thank you.

I've noticed since updating to 3.08.3 and 3.08.4 for OSX , i've been getting the error stated as above. On the Netcast LG TV, it'll pop up with Device Disconnected Error meanwhile on my WebOS 2.0 LG TV it'll pop up with "Unstable Network". It seems with every forward updates the support for DLNA playback especially on the older LG Netcast TV's is getting worst and unstable. The older issue I had was with accessing the DLNA folders. Whenever i'm trying to access "Latest" it crashes the TV, this happens to any Emby media library that has more content, >100 media files. Those with very little content seems not to have this problem. The one way i could access my media files was to use the "Genre" folders to browse which is less than convenient option. This problem existed since before 3.06.4 This seems to start to affect playback experience on my WebOS 2 TV as well. This error cannot be due to my home network issues as the TV and Server is hooked up via gigabit lan cables. Do have a look at the attached logs to see if it sheds any light on the issue. Somewhere within the last 2-3 updates, I lost the ability to find the Emby server on any of my Samsung TV's. Currently running Version 3.0.8400.0. Emby works fine however on all other computers and portable devices. Seems to be a DLNA issue. Any suggestions? Thx,

Hi Up until few days ago my system was working perfectly. I have been following a thread related to WDTV that looks similar however my LG TV doesn't pick up the server at all. I think there could be other issues so I've attached a log that has errors so that you can advise if the issue is similar or something entirely different. Web and app access is fine. Hey there so I figured I'd report this issue or inquire on how to fix it. For probably a couple months now Xbox One when DLNA streaming will no longer show Movie Posters, Season Posters, etc... Just wondering if this is a bug or how it can be fixed thanks!
