Hello I had already talked about it, but it would be nice to be able to disable the "download to" function while keeping the "download" function. Because any user can send downloads to other users' devices. Or, users would only see their own devices, not those connected to other accounts.

The genres tab currently displays the information as a list, with a row of songs inside every genre in alphabetical order, it would be nice if you add an option to switch between that view and grid mode view, just like the Playlists tab appears.

Please make collections independent of it’s path so relocating or renaming media in folder structures doesn’t affect collections and its items. I often update media files, it’s folder name or/and folder structure for various reasons and every time I do that those items affected disappears from collections I put them in.

The above screenshot from Emby for Android TV shows two audio options that only appear when I connect my device to a TV, HDMI audio extractor or AV receiver with DTS decoding, and we should turn them on or off depending on their decoding capabilities. The same should apply to multichannel PCM/AAC, the option to transcode them to Dolby Digital should only appear when I connect my device to a TV, HDMI audio extractor or AV receiver with Dolby Digital decoding, to still be able to enjoy 5.1 audio from videos with those two codecs. It's important to clarify, this should work only with multichannel PCM/AAC streams, PCM 2.0 and AAC 2.0 should be played directly. THE OPTION SHOULD BE TURNED ON WHEN: - The device is connected to a TV with Dolby Digital decoding by HDMI, where the transcoded stream can be passed-through to the optical/HDMI-ARC of the TV to a home theater. - The device is connected to an HDMI audio extractor with the switch set to "5.1", where multichannel PCM is supported but the extracted PCM audio sent to the optical audio port is NEVER converted to Dolby Digital or downmixed to stereo (only the discrete left channel and the discrete right channel is heard through the speakers). - The device is connected to a cheap AV receiver like the RCA RT2781HB which only supports PCM 2.0 and Dolby Digital by HDMI, so the transcoded stream can be decoded directly by the receiver. THE OPTION SHOULD BE TURNED OFF WHEN: - The device is connected to an AV receiver with multichannel PCM support by HDMI. - The device is connected to a future TV with the new Extended Audio Return Channel feature (eARC) which supports multichannel PCM. - A user wants to avoid transcoding.

Hi there, a request for Emby Server. I have been using Download and Sync very much lately to minimize transcoding, the only thing I don't seem to find is an option to convert the movie/episode with multiple audio tracks and keeping their metadata so one can select the transcoded version and different languages within the transcoded version. This feature would be greatly appreciated.

In Movies libraries, on the top bar I have options for "Movies", "Suggestions", "Trailers", "Collections", "Favorites", "Genres" and "Folders". In TV libraries, this becomes "Shows", "Suggestions", "Upcoming", "Favorites", "Genres", "Networks", "Episodes" and "Folders". I'd like a Collections option for TV libraries as well. Otherwise I have to go to the Collections library which also contains all my other collections, making it harder to find the collection I want.

Hi, It would be helpful if you add collections to search results. If you have a few hundred collections, it become a chore to find what you are looking for by sorting through them manually. The same argument could be made for Genres, specially with genre cleaner plugin and Emby's ability to handle custom genres. Optional: If polluting the results is an issue then perhaps a search syntax could be added that you can type in the search box to make the results more specific. example; collections: search-query (only returns the results from collection) genres: search-query (only returns the results from genres) custom-media-library: search-query (only return the results from that specific library) Thanks,

This topic came up before but i wonder if there is a Solution now or it can be solved in the future. If i Navigate in the Webapp from Music -> Artists -> <select artist> and click on the "More" on Albums, i would expect the Albums to be sorted by Release Date descending, but they are sorted alphabetical. Url reads /web/secondaryitems.html?type=MusicAlbum&artistId=... Also, in the Artists view, there are 6 albums displayed. it would make sense to display the latest albums (by release date) there too, because if the artist has new content, i listen the new ones more frequently. there are artists that have 50+ albums released over 25 years and changed their style a lot during that time. finding the latest album in a alphabetical sorted list is almost impossible if you do not know the name of the latest album. it would be also nice if the release year would be visible on the albums list. i would prefer if the albums are sorted by release date descending by default. subsonic does that, spotify and qobuz streaming services too, so why emby should not? Ps. i have replaced subsonic by Emby now completely for music listening and it does a good job. Thank you.

The Emby Android app and various other media players (such as Kodi) can accept unsigned SSL certificates. Can this feature be added to the Emby Android TV app? My firewall/network setup makes it very difficult to maintain a signed certificate.

To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.

Personally my only reason to still use Kodi with the Emby plugin and not the Emby App is the lack of the ability to select "download subtitle" during playback. This is a killer feature in Kodi, and I hope you guys can consider bringing it to Emby, I do have my Admin area set to automatically download subtitles, but many times (even so I have the option to only download exact matches) the subtitle is not the right one to the video file version, and the ability to just download a new subtitle on the fly is very welcome. I'm not sure how many backdrops it cycles through but it doesn't seem to be that large of a number. It would be nice to see it not repeat backdrops within the same hour. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk

Hi! I come from Plex, and I miss one option in the library... "Empty trash automatically after every scan". If in one moment I have a hard drive "offline" when I scan, in Emby, I lost all the library metadata, and when I connect again the disk I have to scan all the content again. In plex, if there's something offline, whit that option the library doesn't remove nothing, and when I connect de hdd, no need to reescan and download all metadata.

Hi, i'd love that search engine look for tags in complement with the filenames. For example i'd like to tag all my family "ski" videos so when i search for the work "ski" they are listed. Or is there an alternative to do that with the actual features ? Regards

Can you set the video length format to hours and minutes on all platforms? Android mobile has hours and minutes, but Android TV has just minutes. I'd rather not have to calculate hours every time I view the video length.

Now that Google and Amazon are playing nice again and they've added the YouTube app back to Fire devices, can we get the trailer option added back to the FireTV emby app? Would make my life so much better as my wife constantly nags me that she can't watch a trailer to see what the movie is about lol.

I don't have downloads enabled so this link at the bottom takes up space for something else that could be useful. How do I remove the link to downloads and/or replace it with something else (like link to movies or shows)?

Hi everyone, i discovered Emby 2 days ago and have installed Emby Server in my NAS, which hosts my media files. All my movies were scraped before using Ember Media Manager and each movie folders has fanart and had .nfo files. These files were fetched by Ember Media Manager when I launched this program and help to display movie related info. Yesterday evening I started Ember Media Manager and realized that previously scraped movies where only presented with their fanart, but no other info. I checked the movie folders and found out that all .nfo are gone and replaced by .info files which apparently can't be read. Not sure how this did happen, could it be Emby Server related? Would it be possible to add an option to "Scan media library" that aborts the scan if the file server it's scanning is offline, currently it marks the media as offline and this can create chaos in the Kodi plugin as it has to resync all the "changes"

Currently when starting a movie, or when pressing play when a movie is paused, the OSD pops up. It's just getting in the way of what I'm trying to watch. Popping up automatically on pause isn't a huge deal as you can wait for it to go away if you're trying to see something at the bottom of the screen, but this isn't an option at the start of playback.

Is there a way to set a simultaneous connection limit for each user. I share my server with family and a few friends and sometimes I see a couple with 2 or more active streams from different clients under their user and I would like to limit this to 1 connection per user for them. I'll start by thanking the developers for all their time and effort. I have been using Emby in various capacities since the Media Browser days and fully switched over from Media Center about 3 years ago. Emby has come a long way in the time I have been using it. I have a friend that is stuck on Plex even though he constantly complains about them not listening to their user base. This seems to be a widespread issue over there. So thank you guys for listening to us and trying to make our requests a reality. </praise> Now on to my request. I have set default recording settings to start 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after the shows scheduled time. This works fine, however I like to change the ending time to 30-45 minutes after the scheduled end of football and hockey games so if they should go into to overtime that is also recorded. In a browser and from my phone I am able to adjust this but not in the Fire TV app. If you guys could please add a recording settings button in the Fire TV app that would be awesome. Thanks again.
