Hello folks, My main pc is running Isengard with the beta versions of the emby addon and the Titan and AZE skins. I also have a PI 2 and a FireTV Stick running Helix and the stable versions of the emby addon and the same skins. I've been having issues with the extrafanart for a while now, but I finally decided to look through some logs to see if I could see what was happening. For some TV shows and movies, I would only see the main fanart image even though I had the extrafanart option enabled. All these TV shows and movies have extrafanart folders created by the Emby server, but from another thread I realized that these folders aren't used by the Emby addon, rather the images are loaded from the server into the Kodi cache. In the logs I can see the addon loading in extrafanart, so I looked in the thumbnails folder on a couple of my systems and found that some of the folders contained 10 copies of the same image labelled fanart0 to fanart9 instead of 10 different fanart images. So it seems to be loading extrafanart correctly, but that it's just the same image over and over again. It's not always the exact same movies and shows either. A movie might show fanart correctly on the PI 2, but not on the PC, so the cache isn't the same on each client either. Anybody else experienced anything like this before? Any suggestions on how to correct this? I've reset the database multiple times on each client already.

I don't know if it has been requested, but at this stage of the game, I think it would be quite important to be able to backup and restore a good portion of the server. My thought is the following should be able to be exported and then imported in the case where a server "restore" is necessary: Users Library Server configuration Watched status/Playstates (you knew it was coming) Installed plugins with configuration for each I would think those would be the most basic and necessary areas that would be the most difficult to get back in the case of disaster. Metadata and images would be nice, but can be re-scraped. I just know that at some point, my server will need to be replaced and while I do keep a full backup of all necessary MB3 directories, an integrated recovery solution would probably be much easier for the majority of users. I know of the backup and restore post here, but I just think it's time for an integrated solution - or even a plugin. I run a daily Windows Server backup job on mine and am confident in restoring it, but I've been in IT for 20 years. General Joe isn't doing that.

Ok so I have tried a few different versions of the addon now resetting my database each time, imports TV Shows but not Movies, also it seems to reimport everything on each log on which is a problem as I have multiple users. I have attached my log file below, I'm not sure if its a bug or whether I am doing something wrong. It looks like I have Python errors in the log though. Thanks Shane http://goo.gl/Mid0bJ

Since the last update both my fireTV and FireTV Stick report "Emby server is unreachable" after Kodi startup. The Emby firetv app running on the same device seems to be able to connect to the server which leads me to believe it's a problem with the kodi plugin rather than the network itself.

I'm using Sonarr to notify Emby Server of new releases and force a library refresh. New files are showing up in the Web client immediately but Emby isn't updating. Using Kodi's built in library update function doesn't seem to work when using the addon. How do I get updates on the server to push to the Emby client? I would like to avoid having to close and reopen Kodi to get a refresh.

Hi all, I'm using the new beta Kodi app and loving it - working great on all fronts - except one. For partially watched movies, if I attempt to "start from beginning", the movie plays 2-3 seconds of the start, the quickly scans forward to the "resume" point from the last viewing. Any ideas? I'm running Win 8.1 Pro as an OS, latest version of the Emby app. Thanks!

When a user launches an item, the item details are realtime retrieved from the server, the path determined and the playback will start with either direct play or stream/transcode. This has the following downsides: On slow clients it can take a little while to start the playback The server needs to be on for the playback, even if the content itself isn't stored on the Emby server itself. Possible solutions: Create an option in the addon settings to store the real (direct path) to the Kodi database, this has an disadvantage that we cannot intercept the playback so it will only work for local/LAN use. Store the item details in the local Kodi DB so we don not have to query the Emby server. Only if the playback fails we can fallback to querying the server.

I have never had the next up notification work for me. I've attached a log but I'm not sure if it's helpful enough. Let me know if I should enable debug logging. Thanks! 01_KODI.log

i have the lord of the ring extended edition, lord of the ring folder - lord of the ring part1, lord of the ring part2 inside of lord of the ring folder, emby only recognize and play part1, part2 is ignore, plex play both part fine, kodi play both part fine, only emby wont recognize that there is 2 parts, the web client if i open lord of the ring movie, it will show 2 parts but only play part1 ignoring part2 is there anything you guys can help me, thanks in advanced

Hello I am currently on version 0.1.85. Not sure on which version the problem started. Currently at the end of an episode the progress indicates that it is watched. However once I leave the series folder it reverts to unwatched. I have tried uninstalling and starting from scratch but the problem persists.

However, when I install addon collection in server and rebuild emby/kodi this does resolve the issue, at least a working around fixed this is for me. My Initial issue was the “file staking”, this have not been resolved, these is where, say a single dvd file is split into several files, which need to be grouped as one, I have already noted the file structured above, I am wondering if it is server related issue or Kodi or possible my file naming structure is incorrect as such system code fails to recognise them. Movies with special characters do not work. always opens the message "open sign" reseted the database and same problem. Example: "OperaÇÃO Big Hero"

Hi All - Thanks for a great addon. I have encountered a strange problem with the emby addon. Whenever I watch a show, after it completes, I am sent back to the episode listing, and the show I just watched is marked as watched (as is expected). However, when I back out to the season level, and then go back to the episode level, the episode that I just watched is now marked as unwatched. When I look at my emby server, the show is marked as watched, but it remains unwatched in Kodi until I restart. Once I restart, the episode is then marked as watched, after about 10 seconds. Here is a log of me watching an episode, then exiting back to the episode view, where the episode is marked as watched. Hi, if I try to open any content (TV-Show, Movie) I get only a "open stream" message box and nothing else. If I rebuild the database it works but some time later the same error occur. After the rebuild other content is not playable. Here is the log: Edit: Removed log as this is resolved.

Work is underway to provide a mechanism to set default views as often requested. This requires both a skin and addon update. The Aeon Nox and XBMB3C Gits have this ready to try. Setting is accessed from the AddOn root menu. xnappo

Hi, great feature, love it! Is it possible to filter out the 'hidden' users (Emby server side) on the pop-up list? I have several hidden users (such as Emby Connect guests, and ah-hem other private users) that the family doesn't need to see. Would be ideal to filter these users out and only show the ones that the Emby server says is available for display. Thank you! Great work, loving all the new features!

Since adding runtime data I realized a ton of shows missing seasons folders . Logs attached, 2 of the many shows, Games of Thrones and Hawaii Five-O Metadata verified and the season numbers are there, so I am not thinking that is it. Especially because looking in the server web gui, the seasons are there. kodi.log

So here are some screenshots for example. They are shot after a clean kodi install on win8.1 (delete all kodi folders before reinstall)then a complete fresh scan of the plugin was taken! If you see is the collection cover from back to the future only the cover from the first film, but in embys database there is another cover set! Also you can see that some covers are missing (after the xxx collection which is also a wrong folder cover)! On the server they are correct. I want to say it again, in the first versions of the addon this bugs are not happened and all was correct. Sadly after the last update this problems occur. I have tested this on 3 machines, all the same at the end! I dont know which version of the addon it was but i think 2 versions before worked well (only the problem with the episode thumbs, but they are fixed now) Hope this helps. Greetz Stealth

The current version of Emby for Kodi at the moment try to manage the Emby folders structure using tags. I'm on Kodi 14.2 and Emby 0.0.32. On my initial scan, it stops on scanning TV shows. Looking at the Kodi log, I'm getting an error that some of episodes say "season does not exist". I noticed the "no ParentIndexNumber" issue mentioned previously, so I checked out my TV show and Episodes to make sure the Season and Episode metadata are filled out correctly and they are.
