  1. Is it possible to have a secondary language option for artwork scraping? Often with shows where there is no English logo or artwork it is available in another language. Is it possible to make Emby scrape a secondary language in this case or just make it look across all other languages if nothing is found in the primary language. This is largely for artwork only and not text metadata where the language matters more.
  2. I cannot get used to how slow artwork loads and how it doesn't load in the background it has to wait for me to browse the media. Is this normal functionality for emby? It recently asked me to rebuild my library and it's a pain to have to recache all the episode thumbs. they take about 10 seconds to load into kodi on my openelec inter i5 nuc. Prior to emby this was nearly instant, I'm I doing something wrong? TIA!
  3. When viewing my music in the Albums view it appears that I have a bunch of albums for which the artist is not displayed. The album artist is also not considered when the albums are sorted. My albums view is front-loaded with all the albums that don't display the artist (I suppose the sort puts them up front). Then all of my albums that DO show the artist come after that. You can see a picture below where the two sections meet. The three albums on the left don't show the album artist underneath the album cover. The are sorted purely by the album name. The two 311 albums have the artist name shown below the cover image and are first-order sorted by artist name and second-order sorted by album name. Here are a couple of notes and observations: - I know that all of my music is tagged with the artist - Some of the albums that are missing artist info are mp3, others are m4a. I don't think it is a file format issue - Emby clearly knows which artist SHOULD go in the space below the album images because I can pull up the context menu, select "view artist" and I am directed to the appropriate artist page. Any tips on how I might debug this issue?

    New movies- images not displaying

I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10, and am running emby 3.0.5785.0 New movies I'm adding do not display the images. I've run a Metadata refresh - which this appears to hang, with no noticeable difference after 24hours, - stuck on waiting circle. If I view the details of the movie, then select edit and identify, and replace image, I get no result. For that same movie, I can see that the IMDB data is correct. I can see the cast and crew images. I can see recommendations. Just not displaying artwork for the movie. If I try and examine the logs, the browser page hangs as the log files are 350mg. I notice that the current EMBY version is 3.0.5785.8, don't know why I'm on .0 - I've stopped and restarted the service, I've checked and installed the latest version from opensuse.org So I'd like some assistance in getting the artwork to display, and installing the latest version.
  5. I guess this picture pretty much explains the situation I'm having. Happened for a few albums, Emby correctly identifies them, but doesn't replace the artwork for all songs.
  6. First of all, let me say that I searched the forum and haven't found anything that covers this topic. I have a few questions regarding the setup of Emby together with Kodi when they are running on the same machine, to be precise, a headless Ubuntu-based HTPC. I scanned my video files to Emby, they show up just fine on the server side. Emby fetches all the artwork properly, including extrafanart and extrathumbs. I use the Kodi addon (1.1.53) and want to get direct playback running as smooth as possible. As said, Kodi runs on the same device with the same user and same filesystem access. But now a few questions arise: 1. Do I need the option to use local paths instead of Emby redirection enabled? When I do not enable that option, Kodi does not see the extrathumbs Emby provides because the skin needs the actual filepath to see them. 2. Will a path substitution solve the issue mentioned above? My video files are stored under /media/Media, will a substitution /media/Media -> /media/Media make a difference? 3. And, next big issue: I know that Kodi handles music different from the video files. How will path substitution and direct playback work here? How does the add-on provide the music cdart to Kodi? Will it set the item.art(discart) property? Again, the problem is that the skin I use right now needs the actual filename path for cdart, extrafanart and extrathumb. It would not be a big problem to change the skin a little, but right now I just don't now how because I don't know what artwork is provided to the music.db directly and which not.
  7. I just noticed that some of the albums in my Music library have a red exclamation mark on the top-left corner of the artwork: Does anyone know what's the meaning of this indication and what should I do to get rid of it? I also noticed that the albums with this mark, are albums that I manually refreshed with the "Refresh" option in the 3_vertical_dot menu on the webclient after for example renaming a music file. I'm running Emby server 3.0.7624.6 on CentOS 7. Thanks

    PlayOn Missing Tile Artwork

All of the sudden my Playon is now a blank tile in every client including the web client. I tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling with no luck. Is there a way to get the plugin to regenerate these logo tile images on my server?
  10. Hi everyone, First of all, forgive me, if I'm reposting something that was already addressed. I could not find it myself. Second of all, I must say; I do love the new Media Browser - it really does kick ass! Now, onto a little bit of nuisance imo. Whenever I pause a video, I get this big ugly pause icon in the middle of my screen. Not only that. I also get to see the cover art, as well as the title of the movie. As if I didn't know what I was watching. LOL. My question is, and if at all possible. Can I get this pause icon in a smaller format? Can I remove the cover art? I don't mind the title bar though. My version of MB. Would appreciate any help in getting this resolved. Thank you, Andrej
  11. Say for example you discovered this awesome artwork package like @@shaefurr s Disparity, and you want to add it to your MB server. It would be awesome if you could choose to implement the whole package (I believe each of the images would have to have pre-recognized naming patterns) with just a few clicks of the mouse. And to also be able to implement say, a gaming genre package, or change it if you decide there is something you like more. Or to change to something you want to try out, but decide you don't like it, but it is so easy to change back, because you can just load the genre pack you had previously. And it could be bigger than just game genre's or library icons. Media icons, tv genre's, many other's I'm sure. Is this something anyone would like/use/appreciate?
  12. I often dont use the Collection artwork proposed on TMDB for my boxsets and have create an extensive artwork collection for my boxsets over time. - In autoboxset after the set has been created we can manually go and change the artwork but it would be cool if we could setup in the options section of the plugin a optional location for autoboxset to retrieve the proper primary poster from a local location where we have stored our artwork. All the artwork can be in the same folder and autoboxset could choose the right one based on the file name being the same as the the collection name on TMDB with a suffix at the end (that brings up my second request) - Why doesnt autoboxset also get a backdrop for collections when on TMDB they are available? The setup could look something like this: (what i currently use in XBMC) This would save time for those that work hard to personalize there collections and want to move to MB and not have to edit everything manually after the initial import. Thanks!
  13. I am starting a poll to get an idea of how many MediaBrowser users actually populate their genres with icons for their collections. I have noticed that some MB clients (MBC, MBT excluded) don't pull the genre icons from the server and instead just use the label. So really what I want to know is there a demand for genre icons to be pulled to other clients as well or do most of you simply not use genre icons and could care less. Thanks.
  14. I wrote this guide up to try and help @@t^2 understand the images and their place(s) and thought it might also be helpful to anyone new to this and scratching their head. So here we go: Movies Movie Art - are images of a movie logo/name including characters of the movie with a transparent background Movie Backdrops – are high quality backdrops of the Movie Movie Banner - are images containing the movie characters including the movie logo/title Movie Disc - are original movie disc images with a transparent background Movie Logo – are images of a movie logo/name with a transparent background Movie Thumb - are images containing the movie characters including the movie logo/title TV TV Art- are images of a TV show logo/name including characters of the TV show with a transparent background TV Backdrops – are high quality backdrops of the TV show TV Banner - are images containing the TV show characters including the TV show logo/title TV Logo – are images of a TV show logo/name with a transparent background TV Thumb - are images containing the TV show characters including the TV show logo/title TV Seasons TV Seasons Backdrops – are high quality backdrops of the season, usually displayed in the background when the related season is selected TV Seasons Banner - are images containing the TV show characters including the TV show logo/title and season number TV Seasons Thumb - are images containing the TV show characters including the TV show season number Music Artists Music Artist Thumb - are high quality thumbnail images of an artist or band Music Artist Backdrops - are high quality backdrops containing the artist/band Music Artist Logo - are images of an artist or bands logo/name with a transparent background Music Artist Banner - are images containing the artists including their logo/name Music Albums Music Album Cover - are images of the original album Music Album Backdrops - are high quality backdrops containing the artist/band Music Album Disc - are original music disc images with a transparent background What Do They Do? Firstly you will notice that covers for TV and Movies are not listed, this seems to be a given that you want them and they are fetched providing an image does not already exist in the folder (folder.jpg or folder.png) When changing/adding cover images using they WebUI they are referred to as ‘primary’ but will be saved as a folder.jpg Music Albums cover fetch can be enabled and disabled along with the options listed above, cover images for music will be extracted from tags if it exists, if it does not and there is no folder image then providing it is enabled MBS will download one when available. Please bear in mind most of the artwork is subject to what client and skin you are using and can vary as to how it is implemented, this is just a general idea for those new to MB and the world of Home Theatre. Art - used while browsing your media centre library to show next to the poster/banner or as a recognizable navigation item. Backdrops - used as a background while browsing your library and as a background slide show on skins that support this feature Banner - used while browsing your media centre library as a recognizable navigation item Disc - used while browsing your media centre library to show the original disc next to the cover also used while playing the movie in a media centre for skins that support it. Logo - used while browsing your media center library as a recognizable navigation item Thumb - used while browsing your media center library as a recognizable navigation item All of the above images are stored locally in the folder containing the media by default, making them easy to find and replace/delete or edit or you can browse for and replace/delete images via the MBS WebUI > http://YOURSERVERNAME:PORT/mediabrowser/dashboard/edititemmetadata.html You can also enable/disable which of the above images are fetched via your MBS Dashboard > Metadata > Image Downloading. But wait there’s more…. Collections - Collections in essence are navigation menu defined by you the user and created as you desire when you add your media. They can also have an image associated with them, these images are usually created by users and can found here on the forums or you can make your own. The easiest way by far to add/change these is using the WebUI > http://YOURSERVERNAME:PORT/mediabrowser/dashboard/index.html …click on one of you collections > edit > upload your image Box Sets – We all know what these are and yes they can have images as well, MB is just that cool Most Box Set images are easily obtained from TMDb, although MB doesn’t find it so easy at the moment and the manual process is the best option, so the easiest way for that, again go to your WebUI > http://YOURSERVERNAME:PORT/mediabrowser/dashboard/boxsets.html > select one your boxsets > edit > now scroll down and look for the TheMovieDB Id: in the field beside it add the collection number from TMDb > click save > click refresh and all your metadata and images (including any fanart.tv images) should be populated. C’MON! How do I get the tmdb id? Head over to TMDb.org and search for your movie(s), on the left menu select collections, select and click the right collection if more then one, now look at the URL in your browser (eg. http://www.themoviedb.org/collection/2326-underworld-collection), so for our Underworld Collection the TMDb id needed is 2326. Media Browser also makes use of images for Artists, People, Studios, Genres (TV/Movie, Music and Game), Years and even General for those they couldn’t think of, they are however stored deeper inside the MBS folders on your server. More info on those and their location can be found here ... got all that? feel like having a go at making your own? ....well i'll even give you a hand there, here is a list of recommended resolutions and formats, they are not set in concrete for personal use, although if you wish to share your creations they are, and if you wish to share on fanart.tv i would suggest you head over there and read their guidelines, they have a very strict criteria to make sure only the best quality art appears on your tv screens. Art - Resolution: Hi 1000x562 or Low 500x281 / Format: png or jpg Backdrops - Resolution: 1920x1080 / Format jpg Banner - Resolution: 1000x185 / Format jpg Disc - Resolution: 1000x1000 / Format: png Logo - Resolution: Hi 800x310 or Low 400x155 / Format: png Thumb - Resolution: 500x281 / Format: jpg Movie / TV Covers - Resolution: 1000x1426 / Format: jpg Music Album Covers - Resolution: 1000x1000 / Format jpg For Disc art a template can be found here and a tutorial for using it with GIMP here Hope that helps some to get their head around all the pretty pictures and terms used for them. Thank you to fanart.tv for their general descriptions and awesome artwork and of course to the Media Browser team cos they rock
