Auto Intro Skipping doesn't work properly
Adamwcameron replied to Adamwcameron's topic in General/Windows
Here is the log from a test. I opened Emby (on Android Tablet), cast to my Chromecast device and hit play on an episode. I let it play but the auto-skip of the intro did not occur although the button was visible to manually skip. I also then tried uncasting and playing directly on the tablet but this also did not auto-skip but I swear I've seen it do it a couple times before as I mentioned in my previous message. Auto-skip intros is definitely enabled on this device app playback settings. embyserver.txt -

Seeking Advice on organizing media files with SAB, Emby, and Radar
Jey2024 posted a topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Hi all, I'm quite new to Emby and Usenet-related stuff, so I'm trying to figure out quite a lot of things. In my setup, I have a small confusion, and I wanted to see if any knowledgeable members can share some pointers. I have 2 main Emby libraries: Movies and TV Series. These 2 libraries are shared with another user account, which is connected to my TV. Now, I also created a library called Private to place any movies or series with mature content, as I don't want my kids to see those movies/series. I'm using Prowlarr and Radarr with the SAB client, which is working great. I have mapped movie categories to the Movies directory and series categories to the TV directory. This is nicely mapped with the SAB client's category section as well. This setup works very well. For example, if I download a kid-friendly movie, it automatically goes to the Movies directory, and that Movies directory is nicely mapped to my Emby Movies library, so all is good. Now, what if I download a PG movie? How can I automatically move it to a separate category/library called Private? I tried adding a tag in Radarr while downloading, after mapping the SAB category private to a directory named Private, but it's still not working, and it's automatically getting tagged as "movies". I know it sounds confusing, but I'm trying to figure out a way to send 2 different types of movies to 2 different directories. For example, cartoon movies should go to a directory named Movies, but any mature content movies should go to a directory named Private. I spent quite a lot of time trying to set this up, but ultimately all types of movies are either being downloaded to Movies or Private. There is no way for me to pick and choose where it should go after the download. In SABnzbd, there is only 1-1 mapping. In Radarr, while adding a movie or a movie collection, there is a place to add a "tag". Can I somehow configure it in a way that if I type there "private", it should link to SAB's private category and go to the Private directory? Sorry for all these questions, and thanks in advance. -

I was able to do it by using the username and password instead of the plex_token. Working now!

Playlist access to full description text has to use 3 dots, Go to Item
visproduction posted a topic in WMC UI (Beta)
Version 4.9.0.14 beta This UI choice is a trade off. User gets the media right away without a play button, but access to the full description and trailer on media has to go through 3 buttons, Go to Item. I think earlier versions had a play button. Is play the media immediately on any click and no play button a user friendly UI choice? -
I can get it to direct play after selecting Several settings in the device i am watching it on. Settings LIVE TV Direct Play Live TV Option Allow Video Stream Copy Option then I go back to Playback options Allow Direct Play of TS Files Then regardless of the selected quality setting the users settings on the server for the user it will direct play the stream.

@speechlesVery few of my users use Auto, I manually set all my users based on what I believe is good for them on the size of their tv VS their internet speeds on Wifi. However, most are at 5mb and some are at 3mb, the ones that have troubles are lowered to 2 or 1mb. But, when this happens, it does not matter what selection it is on. it will just buffer buffer buffer. then i have to hear how sling, youtube and other streaming apps are perfectly fine. Most of the time it seems to be mainly ROKU Devices that have this issue. But when the same person, same setup changes the ROKU to a FireStick the issue goes away? I keep trying to explain to people to reboot their devices. I even reboot the server and sometimes that fixes their issues. However, nobody wants to add an Auto Reboot task... but instead ask to see and resolve the issues. But nothing seems to have been done and I am now getting less people watching. The result is now i no longer need all the connecctions I am paying for. So how to I Remove the extra monthly connections? DO not need to pay for something I am no longer using on AUTO PAY....

Hi all, My apologies if this has been asked before or if I'm overlooking a setting. I have set the scanning media files scheduled tasks to 15 minutes. However, some of the NZBs I'm downloading will take around 15-30 minutes to download via SAB. The problem is, while unpacking the download, SAB used to change the directory name to _UNPACK_the_movie_name. So, there is a prefix added called _UNPACK_, and during this time, if Emby scans the folder, in the library, you can see this unpacked folder name as well like this - _UNPACK_the_movie_name Is there any way for me to set the library not to display directory names starting with _UNPACK_? I know if I increase the scheduled media scanning interval to 1-2 hours, this will resolve the issue, but I'm trying to find if there are any workarounds first. Thanks

Hi. That only happens when you first log in. Select "No" and it won't prompt you for the PIN for that user.

Google TV shows "there seems to be a problem accessing your server..."
ebr replied to khohada's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Do you ever see the "Continue Watching" row on your home screen? I think that is failing to load and producing the error message you are seeing (could possibly also be one of the latest rows for one of your libraries). The error in the app is not specific, just some sort of network error. Can you provide the server log from the same timeframe as the app log? -
I have a total of 102 channels. I'm mostly concerned with my Local Broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CW) These are the channels I record shows from, but I have these channels in multiple regions. Wash DC, Atlanta and San Diego. So it shouldn't be too much of a hassle
-
Just what I did in a similar situation. It's worth the time IMO, depending on how many channels one needs to map.

Okay so this is what my permissions look like now. Still can't see it via canyouseeme. I can't leave the external IP, external start port empty. Agreed. My Netgear router used standard terms but died recently (after I bought Emby lol). I'll speak to the manufacturer's help team tomorrow and see if there's another method that I just can't find (it's currently 7.30pm for in my region, +5.30 GMT). Edit: Just realized I should share my router model. It's a Digisol DG-GR6821AC.

SP, You can manually update the host file as admin in Windows with the IP address followed by 127.0.0.1. It is also possible to large block IP's or entire countries this way. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=windows+host+IP+block+blacklist+countries&ia=web A large black list does affect the server start up time. Hope that helps.

Looks like i"ll have to do it manually also. My issue is I'm using IPTV and have US, Canada and UK channels. So I'll use my xml file for channels outside the use and just have to use multiple emby guides with different zip codes to cover East coast and West coast

Multi-item cover images improved but not quite fixed
wordlover replied to wordlover's topic in General/Windows
4.8.5 still has same problems with 1. Music Playlist cover images using only the first album cover image four times, and 2. Music Genre cover images using Composer or Album Artist images for some or all of the 4 panes. -
If we're talking Live TV on the Roku, I don't believe it will ever direct play. It will always at least remux.

TV/Movies not being found by Emby
visproduction replied to williamdesousa's topic in General/Windows
Search for show data requires TV naming details. jaycedk mentioned this link above. Search is coded to handle some things, but you cannot leave parts of a file name out. SA, your examples do not match the recommended file names. This works for me: L:\TV Series2\Star Trek Enterprise (2001-2005)\Star Trek Enterprise Season 1\Star Trek Enterprise S01E03.mp4 -
Hi. The first one is showing them as an Emby library with all the features of a library. The second presentation is meant to be quick access to the individual recordings. They should be sorted by record date descending.
-
Thanks for your help on this, I'll continue working on it.
-
I've chosen an Emby guide source & spent a long time manually mapping channels to a poorly supported stream source. Tedious, but it sure looks purdy when it's done.
-
Thanks all. Good to know and think I got it all figured out between Roku and Emby settings!
-
OK do you also use epg.best? If not where do you get your guide data?
- Today
-
That's where that info would come from. If it's not included in the guide source, Emby doesn't know to display it.
-
It's much easier to navigate NAT and port forwarding when the terms used are clear, like source and destination.
