Announcing a new higher device limit for our standard Premiere license

In keeping with our goal to be the best personal media server on the planet and, in order to avoid any confusion or apprehension for new users, we've decided to increase our base Emby Premiere license device limit from 15 to 25 devices.

We know from the fact that not many people buy the larger licenses that 15 is usually enough, but there have been questions many times from new users because it may not appear that it was adequate for some households. We feel increasing the base license to 25 will alleviate this initial apprehension. This new limit is effective immediately and applies to all active Premiere subscriptions retroactively.

For more information about what the device limit is and how it works, please see: Is there a limit to Premiere?

As always, thanks for your support!

Awww!  If you had given us just five more I could, right now, be watching all 30 seasons of The Simpsons simultaneously.  I mean, why even try if I can only do 25?  :-P

Can we at least get a small bumb on the Extended Plus options then? I mean I probably wont use the 45 have now, though if it was 25 then i wouldnt have needed the 45 in the first place.

Will agree with previous posters. While this is a great step in the right direction regarding device limits and new customers.

As someone who purchased +45 less then a week ago (thinking I would have 15+45..) We should get a small bump too please.

Lol downgrade from 45 then if 25 is enough. I don’t think this is one of those deals where you bought something and then it went on sale a week later and you get the difference back.

Can the 45 devices users get a bump to 55? Seems only fair.

It's not like it couldn't easily be. There's not some scarce resource that they're rationing out here.

Always someone missing the entire point. Problem is not 'buying something and asking for a refund on difference'. It's about keeping the system fair for those who have supported Emby beyond the initial entry fee. Mentioned it's a great step in the right direction regarding limits, just really needs to be adjusted down the line. I can understand if extra devices paid monthly can't be altered but to not adjust the permanent upgrades ( which can't be removed or refunded ) is only a slap in the face, more so if you made this purchase recently. Wording on the upgrade page still looks like these stack to me as well. When I purchased expected 45+15 and was left with +45 after spending 119+99 (310aud). Now a week later we get this news.

Nothing but good things to say about Emby otherwise. Just sharing my 2 cents. Perhaps it's something they are considering already :)

This is great news! Thanks! I use so many different devices so I was a bit nervous about hitting the limit. And that's only for me, one user. ;-) My kids don't use near as much different devices.

Super initiative!

Because with 4 users (dad, mom and their 2 children) at home, so 4 smartphones and also 2 mibox and 1 PC per person to see also tablets ... it was starting to be short and I never thought that ^^

And you should as Emby is a much cleaner setup than Plex. I'm a previous Plex user. Have not looked back.

I am with some of these other people. I love Emby, but after shelling out over $200 for both premiere and the 45 device lifetime, I am a bit bothered. Don't you think you should make the increase across the board and actually reward us users who have put up the extra money as well?

It is surprising how many devices one can accumulate in a household.  Thanks!

Nowadays with so many devices being used (tablets, pcs, video game phones, smarttv, etc ..) a premium subscription by "users" would be interesting. An example, premium instead of releasing 25 devices, would release to 5 users, or the number you deem fair. With the stream limit these days it would be perfect to manage our home network.
