Luke

13225 views

We've got another great release for you. Here are the highlights:

  • DLNA Play To
  • Create collections using the web interface
  • Identification Feature added to editor
  • Redesigned video player in web client
  • Support Xbmc .disc media stubs
  • Reports
  • Copy-only option added to Auto-Organize

DLNA Play To

Thanks to help from @7Illusions Now we can detect devices on your network and offer the ability to remote control them. Try it! Please note this is a brand new feature and will take us some time to perfect. If it doesn't work with your device, let us know. We will be adding a new DLNA section to the community to handle support.

Create Collections using Web Interface

Now you can create your collections using the web interface. No more messing with shortcuts or [boxset] tags. This is now the preferred way to create collections.

Identification Feature

Now if something fails to identify, you no longer have to fumble with IMDB Id's. Just click the Identify button from the edit page.

Reports

We now have reports you can run. This is a very new feature that currently only has a small number of reports. Expect to see more added with more features

New Auto-Organize Setting

Thanks to @MisterPanky, you can now change the transfer method to Copy only.

Support for Xbmc Media Stubs

Do you keep a few movies on your shelf but not in your Media Browser library? Great! Now you can create dummy library entries for them using the .disc file extension. When you attempt to play them in your favorite app, it will tell you to get up off the couch and insert the disc. Brilliant!

Wow... Love the new features! I was just debating on switching to plex, but mediabrowser seems to have the superior features! Love it! Keep it coming!

You get to reports by clicking the little pencil icon at the top of the screen to access the metadata manager, they appear at the bottom of your collections.

and auto organize supports only video files or can it organize subs also?

Wow not much left for mb3 team to add outside a few plex features imo, and some eventual seasoning in some clients. Hopefully by the end of the year this will be the be all and end all of media players. And its well on its way.

Keep up the great work.

I have a "stupid question". Where is the "DLNA Play to button"? I have enabled DLNA play to in the server config but I can't for the life of me figure out how to actually play a movie to a device. For the record, I have at least 2 DLNA compliant devices at home.

Unbelievable work guys! DLNA streaming worked right away with Xbox One! Will audio and caption selection be possible through DLNA? Will the Android app support Remote Control to control DLNA Play To clients? Right now I'm using the Web UI which works great.

Thanks for a great product!!

Great!

One question though about the new collections functionality:

"This is now the preferred way to create collections."

Where does this leave the autoboxset plugin? Or is this new functionality just replacing the manual creation process in the filesystem?

awesome release as always! i LOVE the reports and the identification feature. I too would like to know what the collections now means for the autoboxset plug in. does this augment it or replace it? how/where is the information stored (is it just added to the movie.xml file)?

Any idea on when a fix for the server issue for the Missing/Un-Aired episodes showing even when the options are unticked?

Link to comment

Please ignore my previous post. My update setting was not set to beta. Downloaded latest beta and all the missing episodes have disappeared... Awesome!

I was struggling to find where to change it... As it turn out I had my browser zoomed in so far that on the configuration page I could not see anything below "app settings" so the "Advanced" was not visible....

Love the updates! Thanks so much.  Very happy to see DLNA device support.  How do I actually play a movie to the DLNA device though.

Thanks again guys. Great work!

Thanks again guys. Great work!

if MBS detects your device you can use the play-to/remote play functions of the various devices.

The DNLA Play-to is great!.. and allowing to setup a cue is even better.. Well done! Samsung's DNLA implementation works really well. I have tried throwing 3D, MKV, MP4 movies to my TV, it all just works including high end sound..
