If you have multiple versions of a video, now you can choose which one you'd like to play prior to playback.

It would be no different than any other update for Emby for Freenas. Thanks.

Improve resiliency to moving server program data folder

@Luke where would I find this setting or option to move the Program Data Folder?

Hi Luke, have you made some changes to the way Emby Server launches in this update or the last ?

The reason I ask is because I have noticed that my Emby Sever service is no longer working, I now have embyserver.exe running as a process, and the emby service is stopped - and doesn't want to run at all, even when I kill the embyserver.exe process ?

BTW Run at startup is NOT enabled in the settings tab.

Many thanks

DamoB

Oh .. Happy Christmas BTW :)

Since this upgrade emby server restart stopped restarting. It keeps asking for a restart to upgrade but it never seems to complete the process. After running for a few minutes it seems to stop and never restarts

Tried upgrading on Win 7 via Setup program.

"Your administrator has block this application because it potentially poses a security risk to your computer."

I have disabled Microsoft Security Suite, turned-off my Firewall, lowered my Security level to Medium, added embydata.com and emby.media to my trusted sites, and tried running as Admin... still no worky.

Merry Christmas!

The new server auto-installed in Windows, so that means the self-upgrade feature is back online. :)

I've updated but it keeps on prompting the Server Restart. Upon Restart, same thing however the version number is the latest. I also noticed it's not starting up automatically anymore, have to manually initialize the server.

Edit: Just read instructions and installed it manually. Working again! Thanks.

I have the same issue.

edit:my solution was to editl the keys in the following registry  location (use regedit to modify); HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\.NETFramework\Security\TrustManager‌\PromptingLevel\Inte‌rnet

All of them should be 'Enabled' except UnTrustedSites which should be 'Disabled'. In my case some program had set them all to 'Disabled' :-(

Here is microsoft notes on the keys I used to determine what to change them to;

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee308453.aspx

I have been running emby through my iMac. I am no longer able to use it since the new update came out, I keep getting an error when trying to play movies through my Roku and the emby web player. Is there a way for me to download an older server?

Hi there, we're happy to help. Can you please tell us what exactly the error says? thanks !

There was an error in the HTTP response. This could mean that malformed HTTP headers or an HTTP error code was returned

I can't get this to work still. To be clear, I am:

  • downloading the latest server version from the website
  • turning off the existing instance of the server that is running
  • running the file from the first bullet as an admin

The window comes up saying it is downloading, then it is gone and nothing ever happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Did it launch the server tray icon? What version of windows are you running?

Same issue here. Running setup downloading screen appears, nothing happens. No progress bar. Killed the setup after 10 minutes.

I am running Window 2012 datacenter.

Currently running 3.2.36.0

After starting 3.2.36.0 Active task Check for Application updates, this task is very slow and reports more then 100% (stops at +/- 141%)

Update is downloaded in updates folder (zip file). Tried to open ZIP file, but windows reports that its not able to open the file (reported size is 82.320 KB.

I am now trying to download the Zip file direct from github. (download from github is very slow).

Checked the content of the GITHUB file and this looks correct. I can open it and contains data.

Hmm, the github update is an 7zip file. Updating through EMBY creates an ZIP file.

Copied the System directory in the .7z to the Emby server installation and I now running the 3.2.60.0

Yes but then it disappears. I'm running Win7 x64. I just tried it again this morning and when it gets to the "Extracting Package" part, I get this dialog box:

which is strange because I ran it as an admin and I can access that folder in Windows Explorer without any issues.

Sounds like you changed your OS - User and or File Permissions

Possibly isolated to the Emby install folder itself or the .exe

What are your account permissions

Although seems isolated on older windows versions

@ Luke stopping server and extracting the files then overwrite to update, work for these guys on this release?

I'm smooth on win10 flawless auto update

Merry Christmas Happy New Years to you guys better late than never
