The Latest Release Date: Saturday, March, 1, 2014

 

Speech Training is still very important for Media Browser Kinect.

I have attempted to write the application to need no speech training, however the Speech recognizer could not handle

the number of commands it takes to run Media Browser. So we'll stick with the current one.

LED Control

Now with control of the LED on the front of the kinect Sesnor, we have a useful way of letting the User know when the Kinect Speech Recognition Engine is ready to take Speech Commands.

 

Red - Not Listening - you need to say it's name (Default is: "Kinect")

Flashing Green - Ready to take the initial command: "Start Listening" or "Listen up"

Solid Green - Ready to take Media Browser Commands: ex. "Go to" and then your library name, or "Go to Iron Man 3".

 

At anytime tell Kinect to: "Stop Listening"

 

Response Dictionary

Gives Kinect a Variety of different things to say back to you.

 

It will be a while before you hear it say the same thing twice.

A random Number generator is used to string sentences together and reply dynamically.

 

This is just the beginning! So grab your dusty old Kinect and start enjoying something free, useful and entertaining!

Hi Chef,

 

My 360 just died and I'm thinking of moving the Kinect into the living room and connecting to my MB PC. Will it work work? I ask because I believe there's also a Developer Kinect Version 1 kicking around.

Hi Chef,

 

It's been quite a while, but I think you and I have written before on the old site.  Did you ever manage to make your Kinect software work with Media Center in addition to working with Media Browser?

Hey Longrifle, I'd love to know if you get the 360 Kinect to work.  Mine's been sitting in its box for months.  Maybe it's time to use it for something.

I'm stuck...... is there no install to the final step?  do I just double click the Media Browser Kinect.exe after extracting the zip

does it matter where I extract this folder?

Well, I got the Kinect working with my  computer .... I can givee it comnands to open programs and even dictation but I can't get it to work with Media Browser.

the led is blinking green but has never gone to a solid green state. any words of wisdom? can someone please help, greatly appreciate itl.

Um das JIT-Debuggen (Just-In-Time) zu aktivieren, muss in der
Konfigurationsdatei der Anwendung oder des Computers
(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.

Zum Beispiel:

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten
Ausnahmen an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem

One question

 

is Kinect compatible with other languages?

 

i try german... But i always got the error above and it looks like it don't understand me...

 

edit

at first start up the software dowbloaded the sdk 1.7 but it want install in my win8.1... So i manually downladed and install the sdk 1.8...

 

one error (i maybe the same as above) was show at first start.. But i click on continue....

well that was a waste of money, can't get the kinect to work with MB. I guess there is no support for this feature. :o(
