Apple TV App Now with Live TV and Improved Layout

A major update to the Emby app for Apple TV is rolling out now. Simply re-start the app to get the update or, if you haven't tried it yet, install it from the app store on your 4th or 5th gen Apple TV now!

 

Live TV

 

The biggest new feature of the app is the implementation of Live TV (Emby Premiere subscription required). Now you can access programs, channels, recordings and recording schedules from the Apple TV just like you can with the other Emby apps. Full recording management is also available throughout the interface.

Improved Layout

 

In addition to Live TV, we've also updated the layout throughout the app to be more intuitive, easier to navigate and more like other apps on the platform. Pull down a menu in any of the libraries to get to the different views available within them.

4K and tvOS 11 Support

 

Finally, the new version supports the new 4K Apple TV as well as other improvements that come with tvOS 11 like direct play of hevc content (compatible container and audio required).

This looks really good.

 

I just bought the new Apple TV mainly just for Netflix (the Windows store Netflix app leaves a lot to be desired).

 

I had a look at the previous Emby ATV app and came away a bit disappointed - so I'm looking forward to trying this new version which looks excellent from the screenshots above.

I used IPTV for my livetv and I've updated but can't play livetv (on ATV4) at all. Livetv play well on others device like Nexus Player, iPad air 2 and iphone :(
