If you guys haven't heard of the news yet, Chromecast SDK is public now. This means we are READY TO CAST!

The devs have been working hard to bring Chromecast support to MB! We are currently in beta testing with the different platforms including Android, iOS and web. We worked very closely with the Google devs over the last few weeks to add Chromecast support to our existing client apps. Chromecast as a receiver device will seamlessly integrate with the other MB apps like MB Classic, MB-Web and MB-Roku and can support up to 1080p video playback.

If you haven't gotten a Chromecast yet you can order it from Google or Amazon.

Oh and this feature will be available to all our users ;)

As the post says, it is currently being beta tested.  It isn't generally available yet.

@darwindeeds:

I think he wants to send content, which is stored on his phone, directly to MB classic or theatre (without the use of chromecast). A feature that I'm missing too.

There is a plugin for MCE which can almost do this, but it's not that smart.

I keep hoping this will show up in a beta or dev build.  Just so that I can stop checking each day, can someone indicate if we're talking days or weeks (hopefully not months) for this being available to test in a dev build?  Thanks!

When the beta of it starts, I'm positive we will make a new post about it letting everybody know. There is still no date though.

This is a major Game Changer.. I can already stream all my audio to my Chromecast via Google Play, and now all my home media collection?? - Wow!  Very soon - I will no longer need a HTPC in the lounge....

Excellent Guys,

I have a ChromeCast already plugged into a TV that I couldn't think of a use for. Guess it will end of in the kids room.

When there's an update, please put it in this thread for those of us who are following! Thanks, can't wait.

Ordered my UK ChromeCast from Amazon last night. Can't wait for this functionality in MB ... we have an AC Ryan PlayOn HD in the bedroom but the GUI is awful for accessing content on the HTPC. This looks like the way to go.
