Details Gone Vertical

A common complaint over the detail screen of the old Emby Theater is that it's pretty but slow to navigate. We went back to the drawing board and decided to take a little inspiration from Android TV. It is now much, much faster to browse through detail screens.

Great news, was wondering about PS4 support just last night.

One question though, I can create a bookmark but how do you add it to the home screen as a launcher?

Amazing work, but as jaspalgill said.. How do you add a bookmark to the home screen of your ps4?...

Very nice, thank you

One question. I think that navigation works best with the direction keys, but when i navigate to a icon and presses x, it only works when the curser is on top, not on the icon highlighted.

Is there a way around this`?

This is the way the PS4 web browser works. Whatever the cursor is over ends up receiving the key presses. We may try to hack this in the future but for now it's just a limitation of the browser.

It is quite misleading, using the direction pad to highlight things, and the cursor has now disappeared form screen, but you hit X and it doesn't have anything to do with the highlighted item. I came onto to say that it simply isn't responding correctly, and saw this. It's an odd combination of needing the D pad to navigate, yet move the cursor as well to make the selection.

The other annoyance is that the natural selection for Back in PS is Circle, and this also takes you out of full screen mode. Instead of thinking that the cursor again needs to be used.

This is nice to see this, hopefully great for many.

Is there a native app under development like the Plex one, to move the workload to the console instead of the server?

Playback for me is stuttery as hell on any decent size MKV/DTS movie, server is Synology DS415+, PS4 and NAS connected to router via gigabit.

The PS4 browser back/forward functions are L1 and L2. As far as playback goes, please provide the information requested in how to report a media playback issue, and we'll be happy to help you.

I have not had time to test this yet, but does the PS4 browser support streaming 5.1 audio in any way?

Any app that wants to be used on my largest screen for video playback needs surround sound.

This is a step in the right direction, but is there any way this can appear under TV and Video?

Getting constant Java script error messages when I try this on the PS4 web browser, is that normal?

So...I feel slightly bad for saying this, but...I don't really like it. :(

I was expecting an actual app that I could download and would sit in the same area as Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I went to the link, put in my home server (cause I'm at home), but all I get is a blank screen with partial elements. For example, I see a box for latest movie, but there's nothing there and then there's boxes for collections, for instance, but nothing's there. And then when I try clicking on them, nothing happens.

Is this a glitch or something? Am I missing something? I know the Windows 10 version works as I was watching it about five minutes before I remembered that I could be watching it on TV. Not sure if I should just wait for an actual app or not.

Hi, you just have to make sure the hand pointer is over what you're clicking on, using the stick. That's the way the PS4 browser works. We hope to have an app in the future but with Sony it's a much more difficult process than the other app stores.

Was going to take a look at this PS4 emby app now, until I realised it's via the browser, which won't be family friendly so will give it a miss.
