New Single Click Recordings

Want to record something? Just toggle it. It's as easy as a single click. No more filling out a form to configure the recording.

Of course you can still configure it. Just click the Settings button after scheduling.

Time-shift your Live TV !

You can now pause, rewind, and fast-forward your Live TV. This feature is now available in the Emby Web app using Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Microsoft Edge. We've begun our support for this feature in the web app, but look for it in other apps soon.

Live TV Stream Sharing

If multiple devices play the same channel, Emby can now share a single stream between all of them, keeping your tuners as free as possible. This also allows for more flexible recording padding without creating a conflict.

Play In-Progress Recordings

Not only can you play your in-progress recordings, but you can seek as well. No more having to wait for the recording to finish.

New and Improved Recording Designs

The screens are now much more graphical and colorful.

New Series Recording Management

Managing series recordings is a snap, and is now a much more graphical process. We think you'll enjoy it.

New Guide Features

The guide now requires less clicks thanks to the new popup that allows you to quickly play, schedule a recording, or just read the overview.

Upcoming on TV for Actors

Now when you click on an actor and view their detail screen, you'll now be able to see what upcoming shows they'll be appearing in.

Have Some Color with Your Posters

On some devices, you'll notice more color attached to your posters. This really helps bring the app to life and makes it feel more your own, as the colors are based on your artwork.

No More Path Substitution

When you add media folders, you now have the ability to specify the corresponding network path. This is now our replacement for path substitution. Specifying the network path can allow Emby apps on other devices to access your media files directly, which can sometimes lead to a better playback experience.

  • Normalize subtitle codec names

I wish you would have told me you were going to add the ability to stream to multiple devices off one Live TV stream!  Then I wouldn't have bought so many tuners!  LOL

No more path sub? Now what happens with mine? Im using the KODI addon as well.

PS: When is this update available for the synology? Can I update it in the server dashboard?

The (Optional) Shared Network Folder should show the example that you can see when you click on add Folder. The format has changed from the Paths Format. Without clicking add folder and then clicking add folder.

Hi, can you read the text under the headline and let me know if you still have that question? Thanks.

As for Synology, updates are in Package Center.

And FYI, your existing path substitutions are still used and respected. You just can't add any new ones and instead need to use the new method.

I haven't installed the new version yet but this is really great stuff man. I convinced a few friends to give Emby a shot and they felt in love. They were the same people to say they would never leave Plex.

I dont have any questions regarding Path sub. Thanks.

BUT, regarding server update, how long does it take for a server update to be packed into the package center? I ask this because there is nothing there yet nor cant I follow which thread is used for it. I also asked if I could update via dashboard because it's prompting me to do it. Will ignore an wait then...

Which clients will support the "Play In-Progress Recordings"?  Is it just the web?

in path substitutions i could set

E:\Folder\

to

\\Server\Folder$

F:\Folder2

to

\\Server\Folder2$

and so on...

in the library then i set series to

E:\Folder\Series

F:\Folder\Series

and it works with path substitution perfectly...

how i have to set the "(Optional) Shared Network Folder"?

it´s enough to set "\\Server\Folder" or i had to set always the "real" path....

maybe (if i found time later) i try it out and give feedback :-)

You should set the real path, so e:\folder\series would be \\server\folder\series. Enjoy.

If I'm correctly understanding this I were to reset my library today, I'd have to add a network path for my 12 folders individually for something that was previously completed with one short path substitution entry. I'm curious about the reason for this change, was Path Substitution confusing users?

One thing I'd like to see from network paths is simultaneous SMB and NFS paths. There are some performance and compatibility reasons to use both depending on the platforms being streamed to/from.

The DE- to FSK- substitution is only done for new entries.

Is there an option to substitude the complete database?
