Guest
So, in English , the index in the header doesn't properly match the actual content? Alright that makes sense to me for the most part, other than certain devices have no problem playing it. So I go through these type of concert files and make chapters manually with MKVToolnix for each song. First, I don't know what the last nine "0"s are actually called (screenshot of chapters) but I just leave those at zero x 9 only really worrying about hours/mins/seconds. Not sure if that is a problem or not. Second. For the last "End" marker on the last chapter, I leave that with nine "0"s as well. I'm wondering if maybe that is a problem if it has to be exact. Along that thinking, I just put the file into the Info Tool in MKVToolnix to find the exact duration which in this file is 03:13:42.144000000, changed my last chapter to have that end marker and saved. Went and tried it on my Shield and still not working. I'm not sure if just changing that and resaving it is enough to fix problems or if the whole chapter tree has to be done again. I'm also not sure if that has anything to do with it at all So I guess the obvious question is, how do I fix this? I think I have this issue with other files if I recall but I think I thought it fixed itself when I tried it on another device but most likely they probably still aren't working on the Shield as that is not my only device that I've used with these files. Help continually appreciated! I'm still learning....
Luke 36889
Try creating a new mkv with MKVToolnix. It may resolve it.
Guest
Try creating a new mkv with MKVToolnix. It may resolve it. Okay I will create new file from master MP4. I will mention I just ran it through the FFMPEG checker and got this: [matroska, webm @ 0000012e825bdb40] Element at 0xdd03e8b9 ending at 0xdd04fd0e exceeds containing master element ending at 0xdd03e8b2 No clue what that means though. Luke 36889
Does it have the same chapter problem though?
Guest
Does it have the same chapter problem though? Sorry wasn't clear. I ran that on the OLD, non working file. I'm making the new file and chapters now. Will report back.
Guest
Did it all over from scratch. Same problem. I will say just for the hell of it I ran it through MKVToolnix having it make chapters every 5 seconds and that file works fine. Super frustrated. EDIT: I looked over the file that was made with automated 5 second chapters with MKVToolnix and noticed it didn't have any entries for "End" of the chapters so I deleted all the "End" markers on my new custom chapter times file to see if that would fix it but no go.
