dcol 165
I would like to see an Aspect Ratio choice that works like the web Browser 'Cover' option. The Aspect Ratio choices in FireTV stretch or shrink out of proportion and are mostly useless. 'Cover' works perfectly in the Web Brower and Emby theater. ebr 14904
What is "Cover"?
dcol 165
If you go into the aspect ratio settings in Emby theater or the web browser while in a movie, one of the choices is "Cover' which I assume means cover the entire screen. That option is not present in FireTV. The FireTV options in Aspect Ratio distort the screen.
ebr 14904
Doesn't the "zoom" option do the same thing?
dcol 165
No, that stretchs the screen out of proportion. Tried all the Aspect Ratio settings and none gave a full picture like 'Cover' does.
ebr 14904
Zoom does not change the aspect ratio. It just increases the size in both directions.
dcol 165
Zoom made the video look horrible. And did not stretch proportionately.
ebr 14904
Not sure why you feel it is different but that mode is functionally the same (albeit in a different player). It increases the size of the picture to fill the screen while cropping - not stretching.
