Teddytav 0

Seger 109
@@Luke yes tips are available @@Teddytavbefore we start talking about Emby, please read up on how to make an external connection to your Nas. Have you set up a DynDNS address or do you have a fixed IP address? Please first inform yourself how to connect from the outside in general, your screenshots indicate that the problem is not with Emby ;-). Please use Google search, Synology Forum or Youtube. If you were able to connect via "https://" (including certificate), please feel free to return, I will help you with Emby remote access setup. Thanks and best regards, Seger
Teddytav 0
Hello @@Seger, Thank you for your Help. I have already access to my synology with external connection. Seger 109
@ Teddytav okay, very good... now you only have to set up a proxy reserve server, because the connection to the Emby server "only" works via https/encrypted you have to redirect from an external https/port (in your case the one from Emby 8920) to an internal http/port (in your case the one from Emby 8096). This means that you address the synology externally with an https/port, and internally the reserve proxy redirects to http. Why should you choose this path? Because Emby is always "only" accessible via ssh/https (i.e. encrypted from the outside) and you cannot permanently embed the certificate into Emby (only via detours). Is this the easiest and safest way for you and many others. -> permanent embedding into Emby is already possible, but the path where it is located at Synology is not easily accessible from the mask. As said before, it is possible through Emby, but Synology may not be as user-friendly here. By the way: You only need to have the https port open to the outside and you can change it to one of your choice later (in the emby dasboard) If you can't get it right, you can give me access to your synology through a newly created user, and I'll help you remotely. Seger 109
Yeah, sorry was a mistake. Yeah, that's exactly what you do, you just put up, like, 4747 if you can't do it yet, enter 8888 at the bottom. Then go to your router and route the 4747 to the internal ip of your diskstation. then go to emby (under network) and take a screenshot of the four fields of the ip numbers. under hostname you can already enter your teddytav.synology.me address. then i tell you which ip port numbers you should enter in the four fields. many greetings, seger
