Run a manual scan and it found all Posters. I've turned off the scheduled Library scan now so see what happens tomorrow.

Not positive if it is only in debug logging or not, but are you seeing the remove or delete image happening in the server log (but you pm'd Luke so he should see it if it is happening).  I personally don't uses a flat media folder structure and never had images disappear.

There was a similar post on reddit, also with a flat structure with all movies in a single folder.  I'm not organized that way and have not had this issue.

Is your X: drive a mapped network drive?

System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'X:\Ebooks\2019\Comics\Complete Marvel Comics Chronology (1980-1989)'.

I removed the Books library from the system the day i sent the log as I saw there was lots of issues with scraping for it... I didn't use it anyway.

In answer to your question though, Yes most of my drives are "Mapped" as I have 5 servers hosting files on my network.

Good news ..... Today I have no missing files! I turned off the "Scheduled Library Scan" which seems to have solved the problem. I have looked for a setting within this scheduled task to see if I can set it to "only search for missing metadata" rather than replace all metadata but I can't seem to find it... I'm probably been blind! But to TBH I think I don't need it on as it should I hope scan the media as it's added. I'll test today and see what happens.

I don't really see how though, there is Scan, Refresh, and search for missing options per library and some other levels, but Schedule Scan only does Scan.

Do you have Real time monitoring enabled?

But if they are mapped then I guess the issue could be Emby losses that mapped connection and removes the items from the database then re-adds them when the connection is restored.  You would be better off using network shares then Mapped drives.  I would assume you would see mass item/library removal in the log, if this is actually the case.

I would expect that be the answer if all of the movies on the same network mapped drive lost their Metadata but only some do. I use the same mapped drives for Plex, which runs from the same server as Emby with no problems, I also don't seem to be losing connection to the mapped drives via Emby. All of my servers are running 24/7 and are set to not sleep the drives or hibernate.

It definitely seems to be with the scheduled scan that is by default refreshing all metadata.

I'll turn on monitoring and see what happens, although I may not have anything to see now as it is working fine since i turned off Scheduled Scans.

Mapped drives are not recommended in Emby.  Mentioned in several topics over time.

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/35328-mapped-network-drives-are-not-being-found-sometimes/?p=333529

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49663-question-about-mapped-network-drives/?p=473498

But a dev will have to comment more as they have your logs.

Windows will automatically disconnect mapped drives when they idle, and when this happens, Emby won't be able to reach them. That's why we suggest using the original network location instead.

Apologies... I don't use the mapped drive path in Emby, I use the actual path server3\d\movies for instance. I didn't think when answering.

Just an idea

you say you use the same folders for Plex - is it running and amending files at the same time as Emby - might be why you are having issues

I thought that myself but my problem stopped once i turned off scheduled scans in Emby.

I take it back.... all have gone again. I'm gonna try stopping Plex from scraping every midnight... see what happens.

I would do that but I'm running out of space fast.... 36tb full almost. Ill see what happens tonight as I changed some settings on Plex last night (early am).
